The Football Association of the Commonwealth presents
The 19th Under-18 World Cup presented by RTC!!

Image
now with a fancy logo thanks to our friends in Qasden!

Two times winners and hosts of the last tournament held under the organization of Sporting World Magazine, the FAC have held stewardship of the competition since our turn in SWC 11 and are excited to be able to present a "homecoming" celebration of sorts.

The Format:
24 teams- 4 groups of six (top four in each group advance to Round of 16)
Note: This is change from the bid. Research has uncovered that NO U18WC has ever had fewer than 16 qualifiers for the knockouts.
Scorination & RP Bonus
Scorination will be done with the latest presently existing version of xkoranate, using the SQIS formula with xkoranate (additive) style modifiers.
RP bonus shall be cumulative throughout the entirety of the tournament. A roster shall be worth up to a full matchday's RP bonus.
Tiebreakers
For tiebreakers, we will use the following: HTH points, HTH goal difference, Overall Goal Difference, Wins, Goals Scored, Coin Flip (OOCly RP Bonus less roster or, if still tied, we'll break the tie by scorinating tiebreaker matches until the tie is broken).

Schedule:
Draw--May 24 (Victoria Day!)
MD 1/2--May 31
MD 3/4--June 2
MD 5--June 4
Round of 16--June 6
Quarterfinal--June 8
Semi-Final--June 10
3PPO/Final--June 12
estimating the number of days necessary to hold the tournament properly took into consideration having single MD cutoffs every day and various experimental variations of the 2/48 format. In nearly every case, the length from MD1 to Final was between 12-14 days. As there are many events underway or that will be starting, consideration was given so that nations could be able to have opportunity to RP across as many different events as possible.

CUTOFFS--11pm-1am Eastern Daylight Time (US)/5pm-7pm Hawaii/Tahiti/0300-0500 UTC/0400-0600 BST/1100-1300 SIngapore/1300-1500 Vladivostok/Sydney

Welcome to the 19th Under-18 World Championship of Football (or Soccer), presented by RTC of Banija under the authority of the Football Association of the Commonwealth.
On behalf of Head of State Timothy Wentworth, Prime Minister Rebecca Schoenlein and the people of Baker Park, we are honored to have the teams and supporters of all 23 nations here to celebrate the best players in the multiverse who are at or reaching the cusp of adulthood as recognized in many societies.

The Commonwealth consists of seven constituent states—the State of Baker Park, Endover, Osheana, Ezra, Midalia, St Leon, and Lynchana—each with their own unicameral legislative body. They are united as a federal parliamentary democracy; the Parliament consists of the 231 member House of Assembly and the 56 member Council of State. The Prime Minister is the Head of the Government--as mentioned, Mrs Rebecca Schoenlein presently fills that role, having been re-elected to a third 5 year term that began in March. She is the leader of the Federalist Party of Baker Park, which has governed the nation continuously since 1951 under six different Prime Ministers.

We are centrally located within Atlantian Oceana and proud to be one of the top tourist destinations in the region and the multiverse, welcoming nearly 2 million visitors per year. Outdoor activities, parks, museums and cultural sites, natural scenery under strict conservation, and ease of travel around all 182,600 square miles of the Commonwealth are several factors in why so many from outside the country choose to spend holiday time here.

Belle Haven is the national capital of the Commonwealth, with a metro area population of over 5.6 million inhabitants—more than 10% of the country's total population of 53,000,000--making it the largest city as well as the financial, entertainment, and cultural center of the country.

The engine that drives the country's economy is the industrial conglomerate that was founded by the family that established the nation, the Baker International Corporation. Known by citizens as "The Company" or "the International" or just BI, at one time it was responsible for close to 50% of the nation's GDP; over the past 40+ years it has divested itself from many of the companies that dominated the economy, opening up opportunities for more investment and growth for both those entities and competitors alike.

What to Know while You're here.
Baker Park prides itself on the equality of citizens, our respect for the rule of law, and the wide array of civil liberties that are important as the foundation of our society.

Most bars and pubs have closing time at 3am, and only such establishments that serve food can legally open prior to 11:15 am to serve alcohol. The legal age for purchase and consumption of both beer and spirits is 18.
We have legalized gambling in Baker Park; there is a modern casino downtown in Belle Haven as well as casinos in East Liverpool (just south of Endborough) and suburban Oceana. Additionally, there are video poker/slot facilities at various horse tracks, sports books, and the National Lottery.
Cannabis is legal for use and purchase, and prostitution is not illegal, but not technically legal either. By law, prostitution arrests can be charged as no more than minor misdemeanors, although in some places it is not a criminal offense at all.
Violent crime is extremely rare in the Commonwealth. There is a higher chance you will fall off a subway platform than be assaulted or robbed with a firearm, and we take enormous pride in the safety of our subways systems. 099 is the universal emergency response phone number, and especially in cities there are emergency call boxes that are well marked.

Police in Baker Park's largest cities have adopted a crowd control policy that is best described as 'hands off, but non-negotiable' for large gatherings involving sport. Generally a perimeter is established and intervention only occurs if danger to oneself or others is likely. They're not looking to arrest anyone, unless you go out of your way to give them a reason to.

About our People
The Commonwealth is a diverse cultural, multi-racial, tolerant nation; we are a country built by immigrants and we continue to welcome upwards of 95,000 new arrivals from across the multiverse every year.
People in Baker Park tend to be formal or deferential to strangers when you first meet them; this is something of an ingrained relic of the values and lessons of our ancestors, as 'propriety' is a word that every child & teen has drilled into their head from an early age. Yet Parkers are extremely quick to make a friend and no one remains a stranger for long, as we are a curious nation eager to learn about people and cultures from across the multiverse.

You'll probably notice fairly early on that we have a bit of Victoriana fetish here in Baker Park, it's really hard to miss; if you hear something described as “VC”, that's reference to the 'Victoria Cult' which was originally a derogatory term during the 1960's and 70's as the country moved into the modern age. Today the term is much more benign, a bit of a satirical self reference. We have parks, buildings, bars, restaurants, streets, schools, political divisions and anything else you can think of named for Victoria, her spouse, family and every other reference to her; almost every adult over the age of 35 in this county knows some arcane trivia fact about the House of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. Not because they necessarily want to.

Travel
Travel in Baker Park is easy and safe due to the modern mass transportation infrastructure that the country has built over the last 80 years. Connections to major cities are available via rail, road, plane or ferry. Rental cars are available at relatively modest rates, as competition is fierce among rental firms; almost any type of vehicle you might wish to hire is available, as the Commonwealth automobile market is made up of about 35% imports, so you'll find about any make or model you could imagine here. You can easily roll around town in a rental car that would be nearly impossible to afford in most other nations (as long as you have a valid Driver's License in your home country).

Baker Park's limited access expressway grid connects all areas of the Commonwealth with the capital.
It is an enduring monument to the extensive public works initiatives introduced in the 1950's and 60's to bring the Commonwealth an ability to grow the economy quickly.
On major 'A' highways, the speed limit in less populated areas is 75, but that drops to 60 where the road goes through town and city centers.

The inter-city river ferry system is a popular option for travelers on day trips or weekend visits. There are vehicle and passenger-only options that operate on hourly schedules or dedicated point to point trips. The Belle Haven River remains a vital transportation artery in the Commonwealth even in the age of overnight, just in time logistics. For the U18WC, the ferry might be the most economical mode of getting around.

Belle Haven International Airport (BHX) serves 41 foreign & domestic carriers and accommodates over 900 takeoffs and departures per day. The airport is approximately 18 miles south of the city center, and there are numerous ground transportation options for arriving visitors at Belle Haven International; Metro Transit Buses, commuter rail, taxis, for hire limos, private coaches, rental cars and both private hub-to-hub & hotel shuttles are available to carry the traveler to any part of the city (or further) as needed.
There are also large airports that serve the other areas of the Commonwealth where matches will be played. Oceana, Ezriquay/Newport, Endborough, and Shirley/Coolville have International standard airports, capable of handling inbound flights from anywhere in the multiverse.

Khantari U18 Head Coach info
Ivory Schlosberg, a relatively new face in the coaching world, has quickly made waves in the football community. Having previously served as a regular national midfielder, Schlosberg brings a unique perspective and deep understanding of the game to his coaching approach. With 27 caps and an impressive record of more than 5 goals, Schlosberg's transition from player to coach has been met with high expectations. Taking on the role of U-18 head coach, Schlosberg's commitment to perfectionism has become a defining characteristic of his coaching style. Known for his meticulous attention to detail, he involves himself in all aspects of team affairs, leaving no stone unturned in pursuit of excellence. This hands-on approach has allowed Schlosberg to establish a strong connection with his players and gain their trust and respect. Schlosberg's tactical acumen is evident in his preferred formation, the 4-4-2, which reflects his commitment to a balanced and attacking style of play. However, what sets Schlosberg apart is his flexibility and adaptability. When the team is defending, he seamlessly switches to a 3-5-2 formation to provide additional defensive stability. This versatility has proven effective in maximizing the team's potential and adapting to different match scenarios. With Ivory Schlosberg at the helm, the future looks promising for the U-18 team. His dedication to perfectionism, involvement in all aspects of team affairs, and tactical astuteness have garnered admiration from fans and pundits alike.

Starting XI:
JIGONHSASEE
COUCHAIN - ATACIARA - WILLOW - SABURO
WATFORD - HILDEBRAND - CHANCE
PRENN
JEAN-BAPTISTE - BAÏE-VERTE

This U-18 squad features many that are still in the process of cutting their teeth on the pitch, but show promise. Jin Jingonhsasee is a Quebecois-Chromatik that's turned heads by appearing out of nowhere, with a good blend of height and instincts; Hélène Ataciara and Raphael Willow return to lead the defense alongside one Uemoro Saburo, while Eder Couchain now gets the starting nod, he of the ridiculous pace to roam the pitch.

At the center of the field, the Young Anomalies are led by the duo of Oskaar Hildebrand and Maddie Prenn. Both of them have been biding their time - Hildebrand being more of a ball distributor and Prenn being a sniper who isn't afraid to shoot. They'll have Edith Chance, a crossing merchant, on the left side, and Carlisle Watford, more of an all-around player, to the right.

Neither Kaytlyn Jean-Baptiste nor Harriet Baïe-Verte are Xuen-Zhukov; however, one runs well and the other converts chances well - and it's their second tournament being a tandem together up front.

If my opponent role-plays first they may:
Choose my goalscorers: Y
Godmod scoring events: N
RP injuries to my players: Y/Minor

Please assume YES for all answers in the Permission Box – just TG me first if it's particularly insane and/or egregious. Also, anything COVID related can do one.

KRYTENIA 2308 UNDER-18 WORLD CUP SQUAD

Image
Beginning their football journey way back in the second Baptism of Fire competition, Krytenia are one of the oldest national teams still competing in international football. With five World Cups hosted, as well as a smattering of AOCAFs, Cups of Harmony, Baptism of Fires, and even a CAFA Cup, they also have a deserved reputation for organising top-level football competitions. What they don't have, though, is a reputation for winning. They are yet to win a World Cup; in fact, they have only reached one final, losing to Aguazul in World Cup 58. Five semi-final defeats are what set the tone for the Dragons – indeed, losing in the semis of a major competition is known as the “Krytenian Curse”. That said, there is silverware in their cabinet. Having created the AOCAF Cup, Krytenia eventually won the fifty-second iteration of the competition; more recently, they won Cup of Harmony 78 and nearly added a second two cycles later, losing to fellow co-hosts Græntfjell on home soil.

They may have a reputation as the multiverse's nearly men, but never let yourself be deluded that the Krytenians are defeatist. Even though they may come up short, it's a very rare thing to see a Dragons team simply give up. Be aware that when the sky blue shirts are on the field, you will be in for a tough game, and victory will always be hard-earned.

Manager – Tommy WARREN, Age 31
A persistent knee injury may have curtailed Warren's career before it even started, but it hasn't dulled his enthusiasm for the game. BXE saw his work with Bradwell Saints' academy team and suggested the young coach to the KFA. Taking a leaf from his Qusmi mentor's book, Warren is hoping to make his mark at the Under-18 World Cup.

“System Erv”, named for the senior team, is on the face of it a 4-2-3-1. With the Krytenians on the ball, however, expect this to change quickly to a 4-2-4 as the second line pushes up to support the striker. The two holding midfielders will be the fulcrum of the attack; expect the ball to move quickly between light blue shirts, especially on the counter. Press, pace, and overloading and overwhelming opposition defences will be the order of the day.

Off the ball, Krytenia will play a high line; they may be vulnerable to balls over the top – if opposition attackers can time their runs to avoid the offside and beat the Dragons' defenders for pace.

IMPORTANT OOC NOTE: For all intents and purposes, this Tumbra that began contesting in WCQ87 is an entirely new nation. They have no recollection of their earlier exploits from WC70-80, because that simply didn't exist for this Tumbra. Any and all similarities to the nation of the similar name can and should be construed as glitches in the Multiverse. You may, however, make muted references to "having done this before" or something. For a detailed explanation of how this came to be, read these RPs.

Players from 1-11 can safely be assumed to be starters, but pre-match XIs will be posted before every cutoff. Please check my RPs for pre-match lineups. If none are posted, feel free to pick and choose from this side.

Tumbra will name eleven starters and fifteen names on the bench, with up to five substitutes taken in three events not including half or full time. In the unlikely event that they make it to extra time, a sixth substitute will be taken. Tumbra will not play for penalties and will try as often as possible to finish a match in ninety or a hundred and twenty minutes.

Team Cassadaigua- RTC World Cup 19 (U18)

The Brattleboro division of RTC would like to remind everyone that RTC has established a fine transportation network within the Brattleboro area and any ticket holder from this competition can use their ticket stubs for a 50% off monthly pass voucher until the end of the year. The team will wear an additional RTC- Brattleboro Division patch on their kits.

Good News: Team Cassadaigua is the defending champion of this competition!
Bad News: Pretty much everyone on that team is not eligible to return!

Coach- Chen Huikang (56)

The post Brittany Byers era begins with the first international manager hired to coach the national team since Alexander Pappas led the team. Pappas only led the team to World Cup champions in the 50th and 51st editions, so while the expectations will not be to duplicate that right away, the nation is confident with him at the helm. In all of Cassadagan sports, he is only the second international manager to be taken on. The other was Maddie Polanco in baseball, who also ultimately led Cassadaigua to a title. Chen has experience with the national team of his homeland, Yuezhou, and his domestic record includes a successful stint with CSKA Quebec. With several key Cassadagan players also playing in Quebec, that was also seen as an asset. Chen likes an attacking style, and should fit in just fine. He made his debut with the Fillies in Copa Rushmori 43, and led them to the title!

Assistant- Kimberly Carson (45) (Winchester City)

It may not have been easy for CASE to find an assistant to Chen, as some of the top domestic candidates for the position may have felt a little slighted that they did not get the head coaching job. Hannah Shanley, the longtime assistant to Brittany Byers, took her name out of the running right away, saying that she would only want the head job. Also, Jessica Tolson, another top candidate did similar. This leaves Carson, who was successful with the national team for multiple Cups and has since moved on and made Winchester City more of a title threat within the CSL. The defender will focus on that aspect of play to coincide with Chen's attacking mindset. Also assisted in the Copa Rushmori, and figures to be in this role a little while.

Bridging the Gap, Part 1

6 Months before the 19th U-18 World Championships
Chromatik Football Federation Headquarters
Chromia, Capital District, Chromatika

Han Myung was not a very nervous man.

You didn't have to be, when you'd been earmarked to be the Manager of the U-18 squad ten editions ago, and you were about to hit the tenth one, and only at age 37. People had asked him if he would be okay with transitioning anytime soon, and his answer was no; he loved his job - trying to corral a bunch of teenagers into a good unit was fun, while also talking to the Managers of the teams that they were on on the side - and mostly, he was out of the limelight.

Well, he had been, anyway.

He had been rather surprised by the summons of one Shelby Arling to come to talk to her. As Lev Repin still wasn't doing interviews or conversations without a translator yet, Han was expecting this to be something that Lev had put Arling to. As the Social Medial Coordinator, Arling had also taken the job of being the communications liaison when Repin wanted things done.

She was, per usual, waiting for him; always the consummate professional, she looked immaculate. The word around social circles was that Arling was an absolute catch; however, she wasn't on the market, or that was the word on the street, anyway.

"As you know," she stated as they got over the pleasantries, "We spent last cycle hosting the World Cup, so there was no need for the Qualifiers. Lev has started to make some difficult decisions of taking some aging veterans out of the pool, and would like some pointers on who you think should get the spots, if you were to make the call."

Han was floored. It made sense to weave Clare Pare-Achel, the Manager of the Di Bradini Cup squad, into the conversation, but to have him weigh in?

"What positions are we talking about here?" Han asked, his brain working into overdrive, "And I'm assuming you're talking about the best of the best, as most of those spots would be taken by those who had been U-21 previously?"

"Any would be fine. The names you provide would just be added to the pool, with the caveat that they are very young, of course. We just don't want to ignore another Xuen-Zhukov situation," added Arling.

"Nobody on the current lineup is Lavrentiy," admitted Han ruefully, "But I could give you a few. The Sæsdóttir twins that just got off the team. Saburo on Left Back. Hildebraand has a very solid work ethic, but he plays Central Midfield, which has always been a position of riches for Chromatika. Kaytlyn Jean-Baptiste has a chance to be one of the better off the ball forwards we've had, so keep an eye on her."

The two continued to chat for an hour, and Han was given instruction to give Arling updates based on how the upcoming tournament went.

In Lev Repin's Chromatika, there was no taking a year off. They were always looking for the next upcoming talent.

Defending a title,
by Kenzie Sherman, Concord Heights Times

In sports, and especially when it comes to the international level, winning a championship does not necessarily mean that you will have success in the same tournament the next time around. It is especially true when talking about competitions for teenagers, which is what the RTC Cup is. Just two years, ago, Cassadaigua laid claim to the ultimate prize that this tournament offers but so much has changed. In fact, almost everything is.

The differences begin at the top, where Brittany Byers is no longer the manager of the side. She had led the senior team, but also would occasionally work with the junior teams as well, and that was the case in RTC 18. She resigned following the Cup of Harmony, due to the nation's failure to qualify for the World Cup, and while some thought that she might still come back to the RTC team, she would not be. This is Chen Huikang's team now, and this will give him a glimpse of the younger players that may be playing for him at the senior team level in the very near future. He has only managed one Cassadagan team to this point, and you can say that went very well, as the Fillies won the Copa Rushmori title. The assistant for Chen will again by Kimberly Carson, someone who also was not here two years ago.

Then, we can look at this roster. Gone are the stars from that team: Lauren & Chrissy Engle, as well as Rachel Wyman, Callie Houghton, and Connor Elliott. All of them are going to be playing in the Di Bradini team, but it's interesting how much of that team was exactly 17 or 18, with very little 16 (or younger) year olds that would be eligible to return to this team. Yes, we still do have seven people coming back, but none of them had a major role in that championship team. In fact, only Danielle Carter even got on the field from that team. She's the captain now, and will hope to use her experience to the team's benefit, but she knows how different things are now. "Yeah, I am thrilled to be back and to have a bigger role with this squad," Carter told me before heading out to Baker Park, "I have fond memories of what happened last time, and I think that we all deserve to have them again."

Of course, it's not just the roster makeup. The Engles and Wyman were known stars in the making. They were true headliners. This team simply does not have that player anywhere on the field. I am not going to call it a down year, because there is talent in this squad, like Allyson Young and Jenna McKay, but no one is really being hyped up all that much. Even two RTC's ago, we had Lexi McGregor and Lacey Sherwood getting that level of attention. I hope that can change, and when you work with teenagers, you know they still have plenty of upside, and this will be a great chance to show it.

There are only 24 nations participating in RTC 19, which is low, and that leads to four groups of six. The Fillies will take on Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer, Krytenia, Eastfield Lodge, The 14 Stars and Elvitoes with in the group. Organizers will still be having a round of sixteen, so there will be a little less pressure in the group stage for everyone, and possibly that will lead to more lineup flexibility for coach Chen.

A Minor Revolution
By Simon Kentley in Hamilton, Baker Park

WHO would have thought a scant decade ago that we would be standing where we are now? Ten years ago, the idea of Krytenia fielding teams in not one, but both of football's major youth tournaments looked like a pipe dream. The men in suits at KFA headquarters seemed more interested in goose paté than grassroots, and the game was in danger of withering to a husk in a nation whose people are so fanatical about the sport. Thankfully, though, this is no longer the case.

So that begs the question: what's changed?

Well, for a start, there's been a gradual shift in the names and faces at the very top. Alexander Morton, former CEO of Jordan's Bank before taking the chairman's role with the KFA, essentially jumped before he was pushed thanks to a concerted effort from a band of state football association heads. Their threat of forming a separate association for amateur, semi-professional, and youth football programmes forced the scales from the eyes of the board, and led not only to Morton's departure but a focus on the very real problems with the game below the elite level.

Leading this charge has been new chairperson Sarah Maxwell. Unusually for the position, Maxwell has a background neither in football nor business, and is instead a poach from the public sector. Having led the Education, Curriculum, and Qualification Organisation - a body set up by the Government to modernise teaching and infrastructure standards in the Krytenian education system - Maxwell was seen as the perfect candidate to put at the forefront of the biggest shake-up of the nation's footballing structure in a century.

The changes under Maxwell have been drastic. O-League clubs have been mandated to create true academies, with focus not only on football but also education, preparing those who make it for their careers as well as assisting those who don't manage to become professionals into transitioning to other lines of work. These academies also work closely with local schools as well as the Elite Performance Centre in Walton, creating a true network for identifying and developing the nation's talented footballers. Minimum standards for facilities at grounds from the lowest levels of non-league upwards have also been implemented, as well as closing loopholes that had seen semi-pros in many cases not receiving sick pay or worker's compensation after football-related injuries.

The most visible change, though, is the one you see here in Baker Park. The restoration of the Under-18 international side - not to mention the Under-21's returning to the Di Bradini Cup - is the headline change, a testament to the new KFA's commitment to developing youth. In truth, the results here matter little; the key point is that Krytenia are here in the first place. Hopefully, though, there will be successes on the pitch, starting with a tasty tie against Eastfield Lodge at the Hamilton City Stadium.

The Beaucester Gazette
Under-18s Squad Announced
How will Chizzo fair in first coaching role

The last time Elmyia announced their under-18s squad it was to much fanfare. There were some big names in that squad, with the starting XI almost entirely players getting regular outings for clubs playing at a high level. In Paula Kidd they had a coach who was hyped as one of a set of new and exciting Elmyian coaches. But with that generation gone, and Kidd managing in Division 1, the buck passes along to a new squad full of academy talent, placed in the rookie hands of former national team defender Antonia Chizzo.

Chizzo had spent much of last season away from the pitch. Working on her coaching badges, it was only cameos for the former Italia stalwart, most of her starts coming as Mario Frechi was out injured. A rock at the back for many years, it still came as a surprise that the EFF offered the under-18s to her as her first full-time managerial role. An impressive interview and her work with the Italia academy, as well as the lack of standout alternatives, was said to throw the job her way.

She's already surprised many, having spent a career playing as a traditional man-marker she has decided to stick with a modish 4-3-3 setup, trying to make use of this very modern generation of players. With a lack of playing time in the top Elmyian divisions, this generation have largely been reared on the more technical football played at academies. Whilst there are some weak points in the team, particularly at centre-forward, Chizzo will be hoping to inspire performances out of her star players De Angelis, Abbatangelo and Blair.

Normal Starters are labelled 1-11

Goalkeepers
1. Martha Ball (Sporting Transvers, 18)
12. Enrico Girello (Mosfleet Albion Academy, 15)
23. Quirino Africani (Hellenic SC Academy, 18)

Martha Ball looked set to take the number 1 spot with little competition. Then Enrico Girello came into the frame. The 15 year old plays beyond his years, and has been one of the most impressive members of a strong crop for Mosfleet Albion. Ball's experience filling in for Sparatello at high flying Transvers has kept her place in the side, with her physicality compensating for the technical aspects that Girello clearly excels at. Ball plays an unfussy game, expect her to largely stay on her line and attempt to block any shots coming her way, the centre-backs will have to do the majority of the work claiming balls further out in the box, or facing down attackers 1 on 1.

Defenders
2. Liz Karanski (Estdalle, 18) - Left-Back
3. Amelia Graves (Italia Mosfleet Academy (Eivora Athletic FC Academy (Tikariot), 18) - Centre-Back, Captain
5. Giocomo Guthro (Mosfleet Albion Academy, 18) - Centre-Back
6. Guillame Fekir (Mosfleet Albion, 17) - Right-Back
15. Guglielmo Rocho (Italia Mosfleet Academy, 16) - Left-Back
17. Leith Earl (Italia Mosfleet Academy, 15) - Centre-Back
19. Nina Levitt (Mosfleet Albion Academy, 15) - Centre-Back
22. Antonia Papadimitriou (Estdalle, 18) - Right-back

It's a mixed bag at the back. On the one hand you have Fekir and Graves. Both impressed highly in the academy system, both have moved on to bigger and better things as a consequence. Graves has moved into Eivora Athletic's revered academy in Tikariot, meanwhile Fekir has moved into senior football, adding a degree of flourish to Diepfleet's horrendous season. These two have big things ahead of them, but they'll be required to sure up the rest of the defence.

The other starters are Guthro and Karanski. Guthro remains untested outside of the world of Elmyian academy football, albeit he clearly possesses both a decent pass and positional sense, even if he has a way to develop physically. Karanski, meanwhile, cannot get a game for a relatively weak Estdalle side, and looks unlikely to finally break
through to the first team. Flashes of brilliance in her crossing and stout tackles are too often negated by rash errors and mystifying positioning. She has a lot to learn, it remains to be seen if she has it in her to perform at the elite level.

Below this lot, there is not much depth. Sure, Papadimitriou is a solid Division 1 starter, but the backup centre and left backs are academy footballers, who again have little in the way of experience. Chizzo may be hoping that her starters can maintain fitness throughout.

Midfielders
6. Anya Trespense (Italia Mosfleet Academy, 16 - Defensive-Mid
8. Andrew Nova (Mosfleet Albion, 18) - Centre-Mid
10. Girolamo De Angelis (Port Tacassam FC (Tikariot), 16) - Attacking-Mid
16. Tamsin Rowe (Scolastico Academy, 17) - Centre-Mid
18. Gina Wharton (Mosfleet Albion Academy, 18) - Defensive-Mid
21. Nico Colca (Sporting Transvers, 17) - Attacking-Midfield

The midfield is the one area of the squad where there is talent to spare. Trespense, Nova and De Angelis are big talents, with big clubs keeping them on the radar. De Angelis may have struggled to fully settle in his first season in Tikariot, but at his age this is no surprise. It was a big jump, going from a 3rd tier regular to a top tier backup, but Chizzo is assured that he is still learning and improving. Could he be the spark this side needs? Nova, meanwhile, as well as Colca have started to carve out their niches as impact substitutes in Division 1, both Kidd and Verte have big plans for these players down the line. They have contrasting skill sets, Nova is more combative, and can spin a series of intelligent short passes. Colca, meanwhile, seems to decorate games, somewhere between a box crashing 8 and a creative 10 in the Paul Pogba mould.

The academy talent in this area of the pitch is also lauded. Trespense, an Oberouran dual national, has chosen to represent Elmyia for now. A hard working CDM, they will have a lot of competition for the spot at national level, but their excellent work in breaking up attacks, as well as excellent positioning in attacking phases, makes for an interesting player. Rowe and Wharton are less lauded, but both look set to move towards first team setups over the next couple of years. A chance at performing here could turbo-charge their development.

Forwards
7. Jessica Blair (Indipendiente, 18) - Left-Wing
9. Anna Alfrero (Scolastico Academy, 18) - Centre-Forward
11. Pietro Abbatangelo (Carathyr Emeralds FC Academy (Tikariot), 16) - Right-Wing
13. Casemiro Bruno (Chipping Sersbrek, 17) - Left-Wing
14. Giannis Andreas (Mosfleet Albion Academy, 17) - Centre-Forward
20. Scogli Parcheggiatore (Italia Mosfleet Academy, 17) - Right-Wing

Up front and it's a mixed bag. Blair and Abbatangelo have both shown great promise in Divisions 2 and 3, but Abbatangelo has continued his development in Tikariot. Both possess undoubted flair, and both are similar in profile. Direct goal threats who like to dribble. Alfrero then, a far less talented player, will be there to bring them into play. Advanced in her physical development, she cuts a stocky figure, and will try to bully opposing defenders. A novel approach at this level, it remains to be seen if it will work. On the bench, there is little in the way of replacements. Andreas and Parcheggiatore are untested at such a level, but are well regarded in the setup. Bruno has come off a year where his contributions have varied wildly. He's put in some command performance for Chipping Sersbrek, but often fails to put together a string of performances, drifting out of games and showing a temper that can sometimes be his undoing.

The Football Fallacies
with The Man from Markovsky

19TH UNDER-18 WORLD CUP: I'M STILL ALIVE, MOTHERF—

Hello and welcome to The Football Fallacies. Right, lads, It’s official: I’m still alive. I’d like to add something cheesy like “barely alive but still here,” but that might give off the wrong impression that I actually had something happen to me that nearly cost me my life or whatever. It’s nothing like that. I’ve just been busy doing some stuff that was deemed more important than blogging about football matches like, I don’t know, cleaning my own bloody apartment! You bastards will not believe the amount of junk that I have managed to build up inside this rinky-dink little place just because I haven’t bothered with a good old spring cleaning for the better part of two bastard years! I’m telling you, I felt like an archaeologist digging around in my own trash because I was discovering things that are no longer in stock, and things that I couldn’t even remember buying in the first place! Of course, the big irony of all this is that I threw out the receipts of everything I’ve brought in the last few years so now I have no record at all of what I bought or when I bought them. Yeah, that’s what living alone for more than two decades does to ye!

Anyway, why in the world am I back on my laptop typing away my own frustrations for the enjoyment of a faceless audience? Well, there’s only one reason for that, really. It’s because it’s once again time for the Under-18 World Cup. Time once again for the best and brightest of Abanhfleft’s young football players to learn that there is no such thing as a happy ending, and that the only thing waiting for them for the rest of their careers is the ignominy of representing a country that always falls short of the objective. It doesn’t matter if the bastards are aiming for the title itself or just an escape from the group stage; once you’ve been called up to represent the Democratic Republic, that’s the end of your dreams of lifting an internationally renowned football tournament. Better find new dreams or find a way to become a citizen of a different country because it’s not going to happen as long as you’re affiliated with us in any way or form whatsoever!

In any case, the less we look at what happened in the previous Under-18 World Cup, the better, because it’s just nothing but bad memories for all involved. And even though this is actually the whole point of the Under-18 World Cup, I still have to say that it’s no surprise that we’ve got a brand new roster called up and ready to go for our latest foray into the literal definition of insanity. Because that’s what it is at the end of the day, isn’t it? Abanhfleft are literally one of a handful of teams to have appeared in every single edition of the Under-18 World Cup; some might even say that we’re the only team to have done that in the first place. But what in the world do we have to show for our perfect attendance in this tournament? You guessed it; just one measly third place finish. Yeah, sure, we made it to the final in four of the first five editions of the bloody thing, but we always came up short. We came up short against Semarland, we came up short against Anglatia not once but twice, and then we got beaten by Baker Park in front of our own fans! After that, it’s been nothing but the usual mediocrity; a bunch of group stage exits and getting eliminated in the round of 16 in two of the three times we actually managed to make it out. And on that one occasion that we did manage to slip past the round of 16, Starblaydia was waiting to knock us out in the quarterfinals! My goodness, life as a fan of Fleftic youth football is nothing but pain!

Now I can go ahead and make some sort of super-detailed analysis about all of the other teams that we've got in our group, but we all know that at the end of the day, it's nothing but an exercise in futility. Youth football is nothing like the World Cup or the Independents Cup. It's all a massive crapshoot. Winning the Under-18 World Cup is not a guarantee for predicting future success. Anglatia won the bloody thing twice, and where the bloody heck are they now? Gone back into isolation because all of their investments into football and such aren't getting translated into results on the pitch? As far as I can see, only Baker Park have gotten recent footballing success, and even then, I'm not sure which of their players that won the Under-18 World Cup here in Abanhfleft were part of the squad that won the AOCAF Cup for the Commonwealth! Cassadaigua, the defending under-18 champions, have always been a footballing powerhouse but they haven't been hitting those heights in recent years. Yes, they won the Copa Rushmori, but that was before they picked up the under-18 championship. But at least they've got their developmental pathway set in the right direction. Then you look at us and the only direction our developmental is going is to the dogs. Sorry for harping on and on about it again, but it's the sad and unfortunate truth.

But back to the point I was trying to make. I could write long-winded paragraphs and near-incomprehensible analyses about places that people have only barely heard of like Archalit and Khantari. Or I could go off on long tangents trying to explain how Abanhfleft can triumph over the likes of the Spartan Dominion and United Adaikes and how we might not be able to scrape past Graintfjall. I could, but I won't. Like I already said, it's an exercise in futility at the end of the day. The chips are going to fall wherever they may, and when the football gods see that some chips are looking up for Abanhfleft, they're gonna turn them upside down just because they like the taste of our salty, salty tears. I mean, what in the world is it in Fleftic fans' tears that makes them the favorite drink of the football gods?! Is it that bloody ripperonin that's been in our entire water supply for years and years and we only found out because entire national teams started failing those drug tests? Honestly, I wouldn't put it past those near-omnipotent bastards. I wouldn't put anything past them! I'm just sick and tired of always being the cosmic plaything, or at the very least living in the land of the cosmic playthings. If not me, at least our young football players deserve better than this!

Anyway, that's all that there is from me now. If you've got any thoughts or comments about Abanhfleft's schedule for the Under-18 World Cup or predictions against United Adaikes then feel free to leave them down below. Until then, I've been the Man from Markovsky, too tired to care about the fact that I'm probably about to be disappointed in my country once again.

You may choose my goal scorers, assign yellow cards (up to 4 per game), assign red cards (no more than 1 per game without asking permission) and assign injuries (I will determine severity/consequences). You may generally RP and godmode my players and events, but please don't use photographs and say they're my players, or have my players responsible for violence.

I am generally open to any RP collaboration, just DM/TG.

Commonwealth of Baker Park Under 18 National Team

5th & 9th Under-18 World Champions

Image

Baker Park's Modern Era in soccer can be definitively said to have began not in Valanora at the 42nd DiBradini Cup, nor at the 67th Baptism of Fire in Banija & Qasden, but in Abanhfleft at the 5th Under-18 World Championships.

It was at that tournament that the FAC sent its representative squad that included for the first time both young men and women, playing next to one another in the same starting XI, training side by side daily, competing against the best youth teams in the multiverse together.

Winning that tournament was an added bonus to what was a bold experiment for the governing body, as nothing like it had been tested outside of the composition of local recreational leagues for 5-8 year-olds where, especially at the youngest age level, co-ed teams were the norm. Even before the final whistle sounded in the title match, the experiment had been declared a unquestioned success, and the Commonwealth have never looked back since.

It is considered at the FAC Charter Development Training Complex to be the most important competition behind the World Cup and the AOCAF Cup, evidenced by the trophy case in the lobby where both trophies (SWC 5 & 9) are the centerpiece of the display that features both of its AOCAF Cups and the DiBradini 53 Cup as well as the Cup of Champions from Eagles Cup 13.

All-time record: 46 wins, 17 defeats, 13 draws (76 matches--2 Championships, 5 Quarterfinal & 6 Round of 16 appearances)

Formation: 3-4-1-2

Kristen Sawyer will take charge of a FAC National Team for the first time as she succeeds Danielle Harper in the Under-18 managers role. Being a first time boss in the youth setup has worked out pretty well in the mixed gender era for several of her predecessors, and Sawyer will rely upon a staff that includes former NT defender Darren Haller plus two longtime colleagues on the Development Staff in Steven Tseng and goalkeeping coach Rich Gabriel along with another former NT star turned coach in Ashley Delgarro.

Just seven 18 year olds return from the side that drew with eventual champion Cassadaigua in the group stage before being knocked out of the Round of 16 by Cardenao on penalties.
Winning an unprecedented third title in front of their own crowds is probably a dream scenario rather than a realistic goal given the strength of the field, but you can never rule out the possibility of whispers from the ghosts that are said to inhabit several of the venues being used.

New Players To Watch:
Cassie Bellingham from Morton Borough in Springfield County set the Baker Park State high school record for goals in a season by a 10th grader with 38 in leading L.W. Cline High School to the state semi-finals. She was born in the Commonwealth but could've opted to declare for defending U18WC Champions Cassadaigua on account of her parents both hailing from the Rushmore nation.

Paulo Everhart led Southend AC to the Academy Premier League title and the IFCF Rising Stars Cup with 16 goals. This will be his only opportunity in the 18's but expect to hear his name more often in the near future.

Iain Pattinson was part of the St Warren Academy side that allowed the fewest goals in the academy league. With the extra match days in the group stage he should see action in the starting XI.

Alyssia Norcotte can almost certainly thank her idol for her place in this squad, as the Shirley Metros Academy starlet was given a boost by former Metros Ladies & NT standout Susana Aguillar; she'll be the only academy trainee in a midfield short on experience but she was a key performer for a side that knocked in 53 tallies in the APL.

The Overlap
Girello's Surprise Ascent Changes Chizzo's Options

Girello looked the only one prepared as Martha Ball left the pitch stricken. Conceding a penalty due to a high impact collision with Jean-Baptiste, she proved unable to continue with a head injury, Ball was forced out just 22 minutes in.

Baïe-Verte stepped up to convert against Girello. Coming in cold, he could've been forgiven for struggling against an efficient finisher. Instead, he extended himself well down and to the right to tip the ball round the corner. From there he only grew further into the contest.

While his shot stopping was perfectly good over the rest of the match, it was his all round game that will have caught the eye. His distribution is stronger than balls, but his pinpoint balls out to both full backs, and Trespense at the base of midfield, saw Elmyia play cooly through that first line of pressure. Chromatika struggled to put the pressure on Elmyia.

Elmyia also truly struggled, the midfield trio of Nova, De Angelis and Trespense cycled the ball round well, but the opposition's midfield diamond was able to crowd them out whenever they pushed into dangerous areas. Alfrero was a problem spot up front, big and physical she didn't suit the transitional game favoured at youth level. Whilst she could hold the ball up for Blair and Abbatangelo, this all happened too far from goal for most of the game.

Girello's second half switch to mix in some longer balls helped to rectify this. For all the smart possession play, the only goal of the contest came from a 3 pass move. Girello sent it long to Alfrero, a nod back to De Angelis was sent into the corner, picked up by substitute Bruno, who crossed well for Abbatangelo to finish.

Girello retained his place for Elmyia against HUElavia. The game again saw the managers think their way to a close draw. Once again Girello put in a command performance, this time it was his sweeping ability that caught the eye. HUElavia's Alves Vila and de la Cruz were persistent threats on the counter, but each time they went haring after the ball Girello found it first. In a game where Chizzo's side struggled to find their feet going forward, he truly rescued a point.

It's always been said that a good RTC World Champions can turbocharge a career. Well, Girello's may well be. Chromatik scouts were seen at the HUElavia game, prompting suspicions that Girello's eye catching performances are being closely watched. It's an open secret that Wirr Tsi are seeking a second choice keeper. Could this Elmyian teenage prodigy be close to a big move abroad?

The RTC Cup, and what the hell happened in the WA?
by Jessica Craven, Concord Heights Times, Foreign Affairs Supervisor

Unfortunately, there are not a lot of sports competitions going on right now in which we are currently taking a part in, and often it is at the sports level where we get great quotes from Queen Cassie III broadcasted to an international audience, so we will mention them here within the RTC article. For starters, bear in mind that initial "six year" reign that the Queen offered Brianna for the Northern Territory. We are finishing out year five, so we may have some political things to cover around the time the World Cup takes place.

First, let's set the stage. The World Assembly recently passed a resolution referred to as "The Minimum Standard Of Living Act". I suggest you find a kitten while you read this and sing songs about a utopian society where everything is perfect. Ah yes, this ridiculous resolution guarantees all WA citizens, "as the necessary amount of food and nutrition and adequate access to hygiene, housing, transport, and appropriate utilities and conditions of care which a person needs to live with health and dignity." Let's sing those wonderful songs now and dream of utopia. That sounds so wonderful. And because of the way it sounds, WA members bounded together and passed it. Socialism, indeed! Yeah, it's one of those things that when you are eight years old, you think the world should have automatically. Once you understand a thing called economics, you know that will never be possible. This is the most unrealistic resolution I believe I ever seen the World Assembly pass. Unfortunately, mechanics are not in place to have the economies of all World Assembly nations completely tank as a result of this resolution. I don't want to call it complete communism, but how will nations get the funding for this, if we're being serious? What is the incentive for people who want to work? With the passing of this resolution, the WA should reclassify every nation as being some form of a socialist nation. Because, you now are, WA members.

It is at this moment where we can be grateful that we are not a World Assembly member. Yes, of course, you want to do the best for your people and do anything that is reasonably possible for them to have "the necessary amount of food and nutrition and adequate access to hygiene, housing, transport, and appropriate utilities and conditions of care which a person needs to live with health and dignity." There are some nations out there that need to do a much better job for their people to allow more of them to have these rights. We do that in Cassadaigua, and with a prosperous economy we do a damn good job of it. You just cannot force it down the throats of nations. Eventually, this resolution will have to be repealed, but on this day all the economies of non-World Assembly members won a major battle over those in the World Assembly.

Looking at our region of Rushmore, our regional delegate, one in which we are not on good terms with (Eura, of course), did not place a vote on the resolution. Looking at other sporting regions, the delegate of Esportiva (The Licentian Isles) also did not place a vote, nor did Atlantian Oceania. That's better than voting for it. Anaia, though, was a different story.

This is talked about here, because Queen Cassie III made a noteworthy statement on the topic: "We are taking names of those who supported the most recent World Assembly resolution. And the reason for this is to see who out there that spoke out about us for our civil rights are now pretty much telling people in their own nation that they do not need to work anymore, the government will give you everything. When the government gives you everything, then the control of the government on your lives becomes even greater. What then happens if the hand that feeds you, suddenly stopped if you said something that they did not like? This is about control. These governments will pretend that their people have freedoms, and they will have freedoms, but when the government has control, they can manipulate that so much. Now, I am not saying that every nation that voted for this resolution has that intention. Many will not. But with this passage, you have ensured the ability to governments to do exactly that. Every freakin' leader who tries to do a good job for their country, wants their citizens to have these very basic rights. We do that here in Cassadaigua by giving them the opportunity but we also know that it is entirely unreasonable to think you can give people these handouts.

The nation of Cassadaigua is disappointed by any nation that voted for this resolution, but are certainly making note of any that did, that may not have liked the fact that we annexed land five years ago. To us, it seems hypocritical."

While Cassadaigua has its own issues with Bastion and the government of Eura, the Queen acknowledged their lack of a vote, "I will give credit to Eura for not showing the regional Rushmori support on this resolution by a lack of a vote. Some will say that is because there has not been a lot of government activity out of them as of late I want to thank the leadership of Eastfield Lodge, the only Rushmori nation that did vote on this resolution, for casting a vote against it. It may have been our only regional vote, but it shows that Rushmore is not going to go with the crowd that wants to see rainbows, unicorns and fairies, and not realizing that this resolution does so much more."

Now, enough about that. Let's watch some soccer shall we. I think we can use a change of pace, and our Fillies are off to a 2-0-0 start in the RTC Cup. Keep it up! I'll give the floor back to the sportswriters going forward!

Believe it, when it comes to the main team or the U21's, Archalit's U18 team is far from developed or ready to compete. This was more of a scrapped together team from the high school leagues across the country rather than a co-ordinated effort to build a high-performing team. Still, that's not to say these players suck, just that they have some work to do before they can perform.

Star players (Small note, player descriptions are not made by me but by AI due to a lack of time and i give all credits to the respective people or organizations and i will just be honest about the fact i had to use this because of time issues and since i dont wanna get in trouble for it.)

Isabella Costa
One of those goalies you can always rely on no matter what, thats how we'd describe Isabella Costa the solid and strong reserve goalie of Star Unicorn who is one of the new star players on the team.
With her young age she has a whole career ahead and already displays incredible talent with her specialty being her strength in standard situations like corners and free kicks.
Shes not a goalie that likes to pass around the ball with her defenders, she is offensively minded and hard working to get her team to many victories which they deserve.
When she is not on the field you can find her in the gym, shes a real sportswoman and an example to many teenage girls who just like her dream to be strong in their own right.

Lina Hansen
Lina Hansen, a young and talented left-midfielder, shines brightly as a key member of the Starsian under 18 national team. Despite her tender age, Lina has already established herself as a force to be reckoned with on the football field. With her remarkable skills, unwavering determination, and natural athleticism, she has quickly become an integral part of the team's starting lineup.
Lina possesses exceptional speed, agility, and technical prowess, making her a formidable presence on the left flank. Her lightning-quick bursts of acceleration allow her to outpace opponents and make surging runs down the wing. Equipped with excellent ball control and precise dribbling abilities, she effortlessly weaves her way through tight spaces, leaving defenders in her wake.

Selena Corson
Selena Corson, the U18 national team's captain, is a talented central midfielder who brings immense value to the team. With her strong leadership skills and exceptional abilities on the pitch, Selena has proven herself as a standout player at a young age.
In the heart of the midfield, Selena displays remarkable composure, vision, and technical proficiency. Her ability to control the game's tempo, make incisive passes, and create scoring opportunities for her teammates is truly impressive. Selena's intelligent positioning and tactical awareness allow her to dictate play and make crucial decisions in the heat of the game.

Iris Olivier
Iris Olivier, a dynamic left-winger, adds a touch of flair and excitement to the starting lineup of the team. With her electrifying speed, impeccable ball control, and natural creativity, Iris is a true game-changer on the football field.
As a left-winger, Iris utilizes her lightning-quick pace to leave defenders in her wake. Her explosive acceleration allows her to make powerful runs down the flank, consistently posing a threat to the opposing defense. Equipped with exceptional dribbling skills, she effortlessly maneuvers past defenders, displaying an impressive repertoire of feints and tricks.
