How did YNs leader come to power?

[Qahrania]

On July 4th, 1995, President Mustapha Benouda Mehdi, who had ruled over Qahrania since independence (1958), was overthrown. Field Marshal Noureddine Ahmed Nafti of the Qahranian Ground Forces staged a coup, along with the leaders of the other branches of the armed forces and the National Guard. Supported by the Defence Ministry and Interior Ministry, the coup was bloodless, with not a single shot fired. President Mehdi was detained without incident and put into house arrest.

Speaker of the Republican Assembly, Mehdi al-Zahaoui, was appointed Interim President and organized elections to take place in November 1995. The deposed President's party, the National Bloc, was deregistered as a political entity, with it's offices closed down.

Following the coup, Seifeddine Marzouk, who was Defence Minister and a former Qahranian Ground Forces regiment, founded the Popular Democratic Movement. Promising political liberalisations and a more effective strategy against the issue of rising Islamist movements, Marzouk and the MDP were elected by a landslide, winning 82% of the vote.

Despite his promises, marginal progress was made in terms of political liberalization. Marzouk's government continued his predecessor's policy of harsh repression of Islamist organizations, and ramped up the disenfranchisement and persecution of suspected leftists, with the Socialist Alliance, the Communist Party and the Qahranian Labor Party being outlawed in 1999 following anti-government riots. In spite of this, President Marzouk continues to enjoy a fairly high popularity rate of 62%.

Emperor Wilhelm IV and Empress Alexandra Charlotte came into power after Wilhelm's father Leopold VIII died, after a monarch dies the emperor/empresses son or daughter becomes the next ruler, they will then go to the parliament building inside the next ruler will sign two documents. The first one is about protecting peoples rights and protecting the land and seas of Germenia. The second document is about protecting the faith. Both the emperor or empress would sign both documents and then take the oath of Saint Barthelmina. After the oath he or she is proclaimed the undoubted ruler of the kingdom.

Queen Diana Wolff is the current leader of Rhodevus, and the third and final member of the Wolff dynasty of monarchs. Rhodevus is a Rubinian Monarchy, which boils down to the monarch being a non-hereditary position, and must be chosen by the previous monarch and confirmed by vote by each the elected senate, elected house of commons, and elected premiers. There's a whole process for choosing said leader and confirming their position, but it's been a standard set of guidelines since the 1850s. It was only with Queen Diana's reign that a law was passed regarding dynastical rulers in Rhodevus, as hers was the first family dynasty

Regent Clarence came to power after the events of the Fuel Wars when Brazil completely collapsed and he became a warlord and began conquering stuff. He used a bird to maintain power as sort of a holy figure within Senscaria but after the bird flew out of the window he just used that to justify acts against humanity and go on a war spree.

President Howell Blanton, a Terran, was democratically elected in the 2231 election.

King Fisher was the founder of New Temecula, therefore was king by default.

The current Queen, Adecyn VII, was elected by the state's electoral college, the Council of the Imperial Crown. Made up of hundreds of nobility, tradesmen, bureaucrats, religious leaders, and experts of the arcane and technology, the Council acts on behalf of the Imperial Crown itself. According to national legend, the Crown decided who was fit to wear it based on aptitude and moral righteousness; those rejected were killed instantly upon touching it.

In addition, the crown is seen as an otherworldly object, given to the first legendary queen Raakel I, by the Goddess of the Heavens, Etherea. Because of this, the Queen is considered a holy proxy for the state religion. The act of appointing a Queen is called 'Seraphic Proxification.' The Council wields this authority according to the stipulations of the Covenant between the Goddess and Raakel, which in essence, calls hereditary monarchies an affront to the Faith's values of vice and virtue. Increasingly, revolutionaries have co-opted these parts of the Covenant as justification for democratization.

Michael Brandenburg, alongside the military and police would coup the previously unpopular and liberal president on March 2014. Michael Brandenburg was given the role of Vice-President for his contribution by the newly appointed President. However during the next election, Michael Brandenburg with the support of his party and most of the public decided to run against the President seeing his popularity fall while Michael Brandenburg was seen as a charismatic and strongman that would finally bring glory and stability

Sarrith would find himself in power thanks to an unexpected and devastating terror attack on the Senate building during the annual State of the Federation speech. This bombing taking out almost all of the government's highest ranking members and leaving the then Speaker of the People's Congress (Sarrith) as the highest ranking government official and the acting Chairman of the Worker's Council.

Saint Arsenio's current monarch, King Macio, assumed the throne in 2012 upon the abdication of his mother, Queen Pavonis.

The Empress: Hereditary monarch - as the eldest daughter of the previous reigning monarch, she became Empress three weeks after the death of her mother. The Mangai o Tangata [Representative of the People/Prime Minister]: Elected by Parliament in 2021, following the 2021 Parliamentary election. Term lasts for as long as she retains confidence of Te Whare o Mangai [the House of Representatives] with the next Parliamentary election due no later than November 2024.

Before assuming as the Chancellor, Lotvall was the President of the Aquaria, who was democratically elected as the partner of Chapuis in the election in 2022.

Crown: Upon the death of a monarch, their heir immediately and automatically succeeds. Thus, Tomás II became King of the United Realms upon the death of his father Felipe III in July 2023.

President: The president is designated (elected) by direct popular vote, and then formally appointed and sworn in by the Crown. The inauguration of President Jorge Ricardo Garcia was on 3 January 2021.

After the Assassination of Sayyid Ali Hafiz, the Islamic Council of Novaros needed to appoint a new leader. The council decided to appoint Sayyid Ahmad al Kormaani, since he fits all of the criterias to become Supreme Leader of Novaros

Prime Minister Park Sang-Hee was put forward as the nominee for the premiership by the Gandoor Communist Party prior to the 2024 National and Forum Election. Park being put forward as the Communist Party nominee was expected as she has served as party leader since 2022.

In the 2024 election, the Communist Party faced off against the New Democratic Party (which had a plurality of seats in the Forum at the time of the election and controlled the office of Prime Minister, with Nikolai Olanovich Semenov serving as incumbent) and the People's Party (which fielded party leader Stephen Jones) and the Gandoor Freedom Group (which fielded party leader Heidi Cameron).

The Communist Party won a plurality of seats in the election, which occurred on 6 July 2024. Following the electoral victory of the Communist Party, Park resigned from her seat in the Forum (the Prime Minister is required to have resigned their seat in order to take office) and, on 11 October 2024, the newly elected Forum began their first meeting with the formal appointment of Park Sang-Hee to the office of Prime Minister.

Supreme Leader Brak Ilstva was voted in by majority consensus of the National Convocation (legislative power) in 2010. It is important to note that while his instatement was from a vote, this vote does not involve the populace whatsoever, with only Convocation members having voting capacity. He was considered a candidate by the Supreme Council on account of his administration capabilities as well as his alignment with the internationalist efforts of the government in opposition to the isolationists.

It was known because in June of last year Nicolaus, the Elder tried to usurp the throne of his nephew but due to the despotic and irresponsible way he managed the country, he ended up dead a week after usurping the throne, which returned again to the hands of Nicolaus X.

When Desdemona Desmarius was assassinated in 3641 PA she was succeeded as Archon by her adopted heir Rafaela Theophano. Succession is generally hereditary, but Desdemona never married or had children.
