Children's entertainment in YN?

Postby Pinochetist Shark Hunters » Wed May 17, 2023 9:31 am

What are the most popular forms of children's entertainment in your nation? Do they have a focus on education, strictly entertainment, or both? On average, how much media is consumed by your nation's children?
------------------------------------------

Here in Pinochetist Shark Hunters children's television shows have become popular. However, because much of the content produced internationally is deemed to be "marxist", thus not suitable for consumption the nation has turned to producing its own series for children. Among the most popular of these is a superhero cartoon named "The Human Fighters for Freedom". It is pretty much your average superhero cartoon except that the superhero team itself is made up of right-wing political figures like Pinochet and Stroessner. Each has their unique superpower and they are briefed for missions by Joseph McCarthy.

Many of the episodes involve the team's struggles against the evil "League of Anti-humans". Members of this villainous team include figures like Stalin, Mao, Mussolini, Hitler, etc. Each of them also have unique superpowers, but of course they use them for evil, namely "spreading socialism" and "taking away freedom". The creators of the cartoon series also have a tie-in comic series in the works. Both are wholly approved by the leader, Mikey Casal, himself and are deemed as both entertainment and educational as they are said to "teach children about the values of freedom and the evils of socialism".

Children's entertainment has different regulations for age of content. For instance, 0-6 yo content should be education in some form. For such a young age, this is often extremely simple topics such as explaining emotions, counting, alphabets, shapes, colours, etc. As children get older, regulation allows for less educational content within entertainment. A show made for 12-15 year olds can handle situations that are much harsher and with more nuance than a similar show for 9-12 year olds.

Some show examples are "Luci", a show following a girl living in a post-apocalyptic society. made for 9-12 year olds, it handles plenty of situations and themes such as loneliness, LGBT characters, anger, abandonment and nature/environmentalism. There's the League of Remarkable Gentlement, made for 15-17 year olds which handles similar issues, and also terrorism, military industrial complexes, revenge, etc. While both such shows handle complex themes, they are geared towards their age range, to explain the concepts in ways that are understandable and/or recognizable to said age range. They are educational, but that educational content becomes less obvious and more in the background, as the child gets older and watches older content.

Children’s entertainment on television
includes the cartoon Worker and Parasite (our equivalent of Tom and Jerry, where the honest hardworking cat Worker defends against the evil rat called Parasite) and various Alex Rider-type espionage ones (with a National Bolshevik twist).
Pre-regime shows that are still popular include
Dr. Who and Samurai Jack.

yes in a fictional country called Pinochetist Shark Hunters, a popular children's show called "The Human Fighters for Freedom" features a superhero team made up of right-wing political figures. They battle against the League of Anti-humans, which includes historical figures associated with socialism. The show and its tie-in comic series are promoted as educational entertainment, emphasizing the values of freedom and portraying socialism as evil.

Children’s tv shows for
ages 1 to 3 tend not to have any violence (and almost never by the good guys) and are educational, talking animals are often featured at this age.
‘Celebrating differences’ is a common themes as well as princes or faris (knight) rescuing princesses as well as occasionally depicting the princesses as rescuing themselves only to return to the tower to avoid hurting the feelings of their “rescuer” .
By the age of 4, the good guys are often portrayed fighting the bad guys, these are commonly set in medieval wars but superheroes versus criminals and criminals versus police is also a common theme.
Shows for 12+ can include much more realistic violence and often show ambiguity, with flawed heroes who occasionally do bad things themselves.
15+ can see very graphic war violence.

We feed our children ultranationalist propaganda at a young age, as well as instructions on how to make a nuke, but more weapons instructions as ultranationalist propaganda can lead to terrorist attacks by 5 year olds. Typically there are toys that encourage creativity and learning as well. TV shows are open to education and whatnot. Also, the children yearn for the coal mines due to mining propaganda.

Cartoons of the little red hen with a version where the farmer forces the hen to share the cake, and as a result she stops working, causing the farm to fail.

Some anti-regime parents encourage their children to watch a socialist version of the cartoon where the hen makes the other animals do all the work, in return for shares of the cake, but takes a larger share for herself than all theirs put together

Both pro and anti-regime parents let their children watch cartoons of Animal Farm.

Most children’s entertainment in Crossoveria is imported from other countries, including those which Crossoveria is political enemies with. The countries that Crossoveria imports children’s media from tends to be the United Kingdom, the United States, and Iran. But if we were to go with originals, one of the more popular shows is Miki & Vanda (2009-2014). It follows the two eponymous characters as they navigate every day things in their small towns, while trying to avoid Pete, whom they call “the mean one”. They are helped out by their friend, Irik, Evan, and Syd. Another popular show is called The Super Knights (2013-2018). This show follows five kids with superhero powers as they try to help people in the land of Fairy Tale Heights while dealing with villains like the dastardly Omergyna. Both of these shows were created by 7 Mice Studios, which was nominated by the International Broadcasting Alliance Film and Television Awards for “Best Independent Production Company”.

For children, as we do not have TVs yet, and as our education system is pretty bad, the primary form of entertainment is Indian pistols, knives and the occasional kilogram of coal.

Children's entertainment in the United Realms ranges from purely educational to strictly entertainment. The Oronian Public Broadcasting Agency (Spanish: Agencia de Radiodifusión Pública Orono, ARPO) hosts Channel 4, which is known as ARPO Niños. The channel hosts educational/educational entertainment programs for children in preschool and elementary school, such as Niños Inc. and Los viajes de Beto y Rosa.

A majority of children's entertainment programming consists of international programs aired through the Latin American counterparts of foreign networks. Original programming has been produced by these networks as well: Mis hermanos y yo, a teen sitcom that follows the life of the Lopez family, as narrated by the youngest of the family's four sons, Joaquín; La vida según Sara, a teen sitcom about a teenaged girl named Sara and her dealing with typical adolescent concerns such as school, relationships, and puberty; ¡Brujito!, a fantasy drama series about a teenaged boy discovering his true identity as the illegitimate son of a dangerous witch; Las aventuras de Newen, an animated series based on the Newen film series and Mapuche myths; and Héctor y los guardianes del tiempo, an animated series about a teenaged boy genius named Héctor who is recruited by a secret organization tasked with protecting time and history.

Children's entertainment is a contentious subject in BlakeIsHere. It's typical for media popular with kids but not originally meant for them to be banned to protect the safety of children.

There is a wide breadth of children's entertainment in the UCE ranging from educational content to pure entertainment. The most popular forms of children's entertainment in the UCE are television programs, sports, books, and video games.

Estabanian State Broadcasting airs the most popular children's content on their channel ESB Kids, although other broadcasters like EMC(Estabanian Media Collective), Torch Mountain Broadcasters, and National Broadcasting, all produce their own children's programming. Some of the most popular shows include: Mr.Bloos Extraordinary Pea Farm(ESB), an extremely popular and long running cartoon chronicling Mr.Bloos daily challenges, adventures, and joys of running his magic pea farm; Kometis the Mountain Man(ESB), an adventure fantasy show following Kometis the mountain man and his band of adventurers treacherous and intriguing journeys to the mythical "Golden Realm of the Highest Mountain" ; Sharpen Up!(ESB), the UCE's primary educational program, covering topics ranging from STEM, both English and Cactar reading and writing, social studies, and the arts, in a fun and engaging way made to challenge the watcher to truly think; The Woes of Mark Sartreale(ESB), a Sitcom/Drama following the oblivious and goofy 11 year old Mark Sartreale as he and his peers navigate issues like puberty, mental health, their future, and love; the show is notable for using the quite unserious character of Mark as a vector to tell complex and impactful stories about growing up, as well as its characteristically Estabanian use of sarcastic humor; and Leosi qo to Parkeps (Children of the Mountain)(Torch Mountain), a Cactar language Adventure/Drama show following a group of exceedingly poor rascals living in the mountains of Plateau occupied Schlumbergera.

Literary culture is a staple of Estabanian identity, and thus reading is a popular activity for children to partake in. Popular genres of children's literature are Fantasy, Epics, Adventure, and Picture books. Some classic pieces of Estabanian childrens literature include The War on My Island, The Strange Personage that was Jack Reese, And Yet the Spirit still Eludes us, and The Great Big Rice Harvest. Foreign literature is also popular, with many children reading books like Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and The Hunger Games.

Many children participate in recreational sports or physical activity, whether organized or unorganized, from a young age, the most popular being Basketball, Handball, Hiking, Biking , and Swimming, although more extreme sports like skateboarding and surfing have grown highly popular in the last decade.

Video Games also serve as a common form of entertainment for many children, although they are not as prevalent nor as problematic as in some other countries. The UCE has relatively few domestic software developers, and no domestic hardware developers, so most video games are imported. As of late 2022, the most popular console in the country was the Nintendo Switch, with an estimated 5.7 million copies being sold within the country.

Media in the UASR is heavily controlled by the state apparatus, who maintains several animation and filming studios to produce cartoons, cinema and television broadcasts.

When it comes to children's entertainment, there are numerous programs at a early age that focus on "edutainment" which provides both education and entertainment to young viewers. Children ages 0-10 can find programs focused on simple educational topics, things like shapes, colors, emotions and etiquette.

Content takes a different character once children reach preteen and teenage age, there's a large variety of purely entertainment options. From adventurous action shows to comedic cartoons. There's also substantial political content as well, designed to reinforce socialist values in the Youth that coincide with the core ideas of the Red Pioneers and Communist Youth League. The CYL and RP both run magazines that their members can read that provide editorials on culture, art, outdoors activities, sports and history with an ideological flare.

Video games do exist in the UASR, though many games from the west are filtered by the UASR's government, the youth still get around the UASR's censors to play them anyway. Enforcement on this is loose and flexible, with many officials not caring enough to enforce what is written in the books.

Taking in account my last responses, the main entertainment for children in Kattslaant is crime, watching crime in the internet, watching racist shows about Bigtopians and... reading Harry Potter (ok, the last one is a bit too much, forget it, let's just stay with the soft stuff as crime and the Bigtopian show)

the Netherlands has very strict regulations on child entertainment. Between 0-6 children can only watch films designed for their age, so does 6-12, 12-16, and from 16 they can watch 16+ films and media and 18+ for 18+ (from that point they're considered an adult by law). For entertainments park the Efteling is most visited by children ranging from 0 to 17

Because the initial NPN became associated with far-right parties NSB and NSDAP in the '30s and '40s. PM Legtenberg further announced that the Netherlands wil also be a Federal Republic from 1 January 2024. And that he will become the first President of the Netherlands. How this will affect the elections will be decided by him and the House
