2024 Presidential Election Simulator
Rules:
- Puppets' votes will be discounted in the final total if discovered.
- We'll be going state-by-state (and D.C.), with each poll open for three days. State order (below) is randomized.
- I'm running the election with the Democratic, Republican, Libertarian, and Green parties (not candidates, as party nominees are (obv) still undeclared currently). Libs/Greens are included to have multiparty variety.
- If the poll ends in a tie between 2 or more parties, I'll go into a runoff between those parties rather than proceeding to the next state.
- Nebraska and Maine will be allotted using the non-FPTP system they use irl.
- I'll log the results here and keep a 270toWin page running as the election progresses.
- Regretfully, you may only vote for one party per poll. Sorry to anybody who likes two or more parties (I feel ya).
- Libertarian and Green votes will be lumped together into a single "minor party" category until the election is concluded, as 270toWin only allows the use of 3 parties. I'll explain when the election ends.
- Congressional runoffs (see below) will be run after we finish all the states, and I'll run those polls for one day each.
This thread is meant to discuss the polls, campaign for a party, or results.

Update: I'm also simulating the Congressional election.
I'm using the Huntington-Hill method to determine allotment. I'll plug the vote counts and number of representatives into a calculator, using the state's number of reps in "size of congress" and using four states to represent the four parties at play here. Half values indicate close apportionment values that I'll eventually put to a runoff.
