If they're the only ones with the guns, they really wouldn't need the people's support, would they?

if this is true why havent allmost all of europe come under a dictatorship

Not saying guns banned automaticaly leads to totalitarianism, but that no guns banned means it is next to impossible for there to be a totalitarian state.

Yeah, One makes you a huge historical figure, the other, you get capped, I'd rather be the historical figure xD

I find my way of life more honourable. Any old fool can grab a gun and pull the trigger, and we find them to be heroes. But how many are willing to say what they want, and be killed for it? I know everyone on here is an internet tough guy, so most people will say they are willing, but in reality, are you really willing to die for simply saying "You're wrong", or "my opinion is right"? Most people would just shut their mouths and let themselves live another day.

This probably includes you, if psychology experiments on authority are to be believed.

Perhaps it might include me. I'd like to think it doesn't. After all, I have allowed myself to be hit and spat upon before, simply for stating my beliefs. It does take a lot of self control to keep from striking back. But I would hope that in the face of death I would not fail myself, and still say and live how I wish.

Authority has an effect upon that precious concoction of chemicals known as the human brain, arguably moreso than mere physical violence.
