anyways, yeah, i like anime (can you tell?). i kinda grew up with it, started with AOT when the first series came out (i was around 11 or so? i don't remember my exact age) but then i watched sword art online and dropped it for 7 years because that show is fucking awful
i have myanimelist in my factbook somewhere but i'm too lazy to link it
Cosmic79 wrote: I would say I grew into it as I started watching more consistently after the age of 15.
I may occasionally watch a new show, and I did watch GITS 2045 (Season 2) and the new JoJo part, but I'm not really into anime anymore.
Was also very impressed by the consistent quality some Japanese mangas have.

I also didn't watch my first anime until I started university, with the exception of a few episodes of pokemon, I watched as a kid.
Also, this thread should have its name changed to: "What is your issue with animebased entertainment?" since you excluded western animation in your OP. Might clear up some confusion.

There I have appeased the crowd, Also I honestly have watched less anime after attending college.
I am very much a sub person rather than dub. I rarely find a dub that sub doesnt beat out. AOT is a good dub, SAO was good...uhm what else?

I prefer dub for two main reasons. 1) I don't need to concentrate fully on the anime. 2) I get to watch it a bit more without needing to read (not to say I don't love reading). It's an animation, so I personally don't need to suspend by disbelief that much. Animation by its nature is a sort of caricature of live action. Not even mentioning the fantasy and other non-realistic things present in animation and many other visual media stories.
Though, i do find it fun when the jaws of anime characters don't move even when the mouth opens and closes for speaking
