"Always has been."

She turned to Gikol and threw Damon's Olympian spear at him.

Catching it, Gikol roared, and threw it back with 10 times the strength. He. Was. PISSED.

"Well, I give, so can I leave now?" Croaked Karl, attempting to raise his hands in surrender

"No. As per the rules, only one competitor will leave alive."

She walked over to him, picked him up, and threw him away from the island.

"Here goes nothing!"
Karl plinks another coin and pinches it by the edge, he punches it with one hand, and it drags him backwards, towards the island. He goes flying towards Jean at full speed, shattering multiple bones on impact, by this point, he is held together by sheer willpower, and the energy emenating from the Rissreißer. He strikes again

Welp, going now. Jonathan and Mary closed the portal. But before fully closing "Mary" shot a grapple hook on Gikol and Karl's legs hoping at least one of them could return home safely.

Jean deflected it into the lava.

Out of the ground, an old enemy arose: the GiAnts! This time, they're modified bullet ants.

The GiAnts swarm Gikol and start cutting him with their mandibles.

Then, she gets hit in the side by Karl.

She quickly stands, punches him in the face, and pulls out a sword.

"You're still alive? Impressive."

She then deflects his sword and stabs him in the stomach with hers.

Jean deflected it into the lava.

The GiAnts swarm Gikol and start cutting him with their mandibles.

Then, she gets hit in the side by Karl.

She quickly stands, punches him in the face, and pulls out a sword.

Their mandibles only make him angrier. Bellowing, and squashes and swipes until they're all gone. He's a bit bloody now, sure, but he's had WAY worse.

"Mary" suddenly had an epiphany. She wanted to save everyone else. Maybe actually living as a somewhat more normal person (Although Mary is still a crackhead and a killer) got him to befriend people and care more. She shot her grapple hooks to save Gilok and bring him through the portal.

"Mary" suddenly had an epiphany. She wanted to save everyone else. Maybe actually living as a somewhat more normal person (Although Mary is still a crackhead and a killer) got him to befriend people and care more. She shot her grapple hooks to save Gilok and bring him through the portal.

The Comtester reviews its surrounding while uploading the massive verbose action data back to the Compendium. They could obliterate and dismantle the Comp with no further consequences now. Wait, not the last one, as the tamper kill switch will ignite the antimatter explosive within the cubic automaton rapidly, erasing everything salvageable (while conveniently wreaking extensive havoc on their surrounding), and spreading shrapnels of the metamaterial the hull of the Comp are built upon at great speed. It has been a wild ride. Part of the Comtester are glad to watch Mary and Artist went home safe, while they pity Karl, the leader of the SRoM, having to be stuck here. The Comp let out a noise that can either be interpreted as a sob, a sigh, a scoff, or a snort. Staying to their original objective, the Comtester was deployed here to test the Rig anyway, not to win a title. A title, which is quite dubious in validity, given a REAL multiversal battle royale will theoretically have hundreds, or even thousands, times of participants than what it currently is.

192 nods, and so with that, they start jumping in. Two dives, Three bellyflops, and Four cannonballs. After the robots are sufficiently melted, the Wyvern also charges into the lava, melting.

Karl, now a being composed of sheer willpower, looks at the spot where he made his final stand, his remains are gone, what's left is a etching similar to that of a nuclear shadow on where he made his last stand.

Back in Ardchu, Gikol'haesch spent the rest of his days working as a drill sergeant in the Ardchuan Army, training legions to come. He never told anyone about his whereabouts during that time, and that is lost to history.

Upon entering the portal, a wave of vertigo and dizziness would overcome them as a bright light shined upon their faces, blinding them briefly before they would fade to black... and eventually, wake up in some sort of cheap yet fashionable room out in an urban environment, Artist being able to see Mary fast asleep and embracing her as she snored slightly. The sheets were soft, yet they seemed to have stains of white powder and alcohol on them, and the only noises outside were the occasional smashing of glass around the corner or some giggling and conversation from outside.

After the Orb disappeared into the ceiling, it entered an airlock, which in turn led to a tunnel to the surface.

The Orb shot up to the surface of the fringe world and over a city, where the people instantly recognized it and rushed up to it, expecting news from the Pit below.

And when the news broke of what had happened since the video had cut off, the mobs of people rushed at the Gamemasters and beat them nearly to death before the police came and broke it up.

The Gamemasters were arrested. However, the courts found them not guilty and acquitted them. Nevertheless, they lost all their relations and jobs because of their time in the Pit, their time with Head Gamemaster Jean.

If Comps possess jaws, Comtester's will drop down into the ground. The sudden turn of events is quite sudden for its CPU to process. From massive ants to energy bullet hell, it had been a wild fortnight for the Comp. The CARAR prototype marched through the portal uneventfully, ending up on the CARAR Prototyping Subcompound within the Compendium. News about the Comtester's experience on the Pit spread far and fast through the Interdimensional and Multiversal Affairs Compound, although it stops there. The Comps are more interested in the CARAR raw test result than the title, the monetary reward, or the potential cash obtainable for suing the Pit management. And thus, conclude the Compendium participation action report at the Pit.

Upon the election of Grand Admiral Teren into leadership, the Council reopened investigations into the events that perspired in the Pit. Now, the arena, long cooled, has been turned on again as the various investigators search for anything regarding the Pit.

A few items from Damon's vault are recovered, as are various parts from the Hope. The bodies of the Gamemasters had long ago been sent to their various locations throughout Coalition space.

Nevertheless, following the investigations, the Council is considering reopening the Pit for another grand showdown between the multiverse's best fighters...

With things mostly calmed down within the Coalition, work has begun on reconstructing the Pit arena, albeit without the physical stands for the audience. Due to the advanced nature of the Pit, work has progressed slowly, but it is expected to be completed within the next two weeks to a month.

With the Pit Arena repaired and fully operational, the Council is now looking for a new set of Gamemasters to oversee the Pit. Some of the former Gamemasters have returned, but Gamemaster Teron is still unnacounted for, being unreachable. (No, I’m not letting actual people sign up to be Gamemaster unless I myself want to forward a participant… which is unlikely.)

Nevertheless, the Pit will be open once more very soon. Perhaps this time it will be handled properly.
