OOC Summary: The old nation of Querria is on the verge of civil war. Separate dissident, criminal and separatist factions have come together under a coalition led by the stray sheep and their mysterious and enigmatic leader animus to launch an insurgency to topple the old gov. Following rioting turned uprising which led to the death of the head councilor, the government has fled to the inland mountain range, lined with nuclear bunkers and fortresses. Most of the military, along with loyal security forces and loyal civilians who were able have followed to either the mountains or parts of the country still considered under old gov control. The old gov of shepherds and their sheepdogs are regrouping and poised to sweep back across the country to restore control and crush the insurgency in it's infancy.
Factions (& sub-factions)
The Factions generally fall into two camps: The Insurgency (highlighted in blue) and the shepherd government (highlighted in red). There are minor, third parties which will engage in the conflict. Some will be listed here alongside the two main factions.
Factions of the Shepherd government
The government: Self explanatory. The incumbent government before the start of the civil war.
Moute Colony: See that offshoot of red? That's Moute, a nearby colony still loyal to the old gov. The local government and defense forces there are still entirely intact and in control.
The Shepherd's Partisans: Partisans that will be present in territory under control of the insurgency, generally causing trouble and fighting back.
The Insurgency
Stray Sheep: The personal army of animus, and the faction heading the insurgency. The second largest insurgent faction in Querria.
The Cartel: The largest faction in the country. A empire of criminal groups, businesses and a private military company led by a sociopathic man named torque. This faction has already engaged with the shepher'ds government and taken a mountain fortress in the south.
Swad Family: A wealthy family controlling parts of an island off the coast of Moute. They want independence to govern their land and conduct international business as they see fit.
Inessa: A large island under the complete control of the insurgency. There's a secessionist movement there clamoring for sovereignty.
Holdon: Another secessionist movement in the northeast. This group wants the territory to rejoin their native nation of Givoria.
Insurgency Partisans: Independent partisans that are in territory controlled by the old gov. generally causing trouble and fighting back.
Third parties will be split into two sections
Internal factions;
Communists: It's Nationstates, there's going to be communist groups. These groups are small and scattered neckbeards posting online, but some of them may be brave enough to cause general trouble or be up for a violent revolution in their area.
Nationalists are not patriotic to the old gov. generally these will be either racist biker gangs and militia groups clamoring for an ethnostate.
Anarchists are individuals of small communities that don't want to live under a government at all. Ideologies vary.

Outer Givoria is siding with the insurgency, and will likely commit 60-70% of it's military to the insurgency once fighting starts nationwide.
Zionia is on the border of Moute and is siding with the insurgency. It's mobilized their military on the border with Moute.
Stovereach Is a military junta bordering querria, which sides with the old gov.
