Technology & Charging
Charging
There are several different home charging options for eZen electric vehicles (EVs), with various capabilities. Charging options include:
- 120v outlets/L1 charger: This is the most basic type of charging and uses a standard 120-volt household outlet, giving 8km range per hour of charge.
- 240v outlets/L2 charger: This type of charging uses a 240-volt outlet, similar to the one used for an electric dryer or range or Europlugs, giving 40km of range per hour of charge.
- eZen HomeBox L3 charger: Also known as DC Fast Charging, it uses a 480-volt outlet and can charge an eZen car in a short period, add 62km of range per hour of charge. Professional installation required.
- eZen HomeBox+Battery L3 charger: Like the HomeBox, it uses a 480-volt outlet an also has a home battery option (9.9kw). This battery can store a charge from home solar and wind systems or from the grid on off-peak hours. In the event of power ouytages, the HomeBox+Battery can power your home and charge you car. It also adds 62km of range per hour of charge. Professional installation required.
- Supercharger: Available at some public locations, these systems can charge at an impressive rate of 300km range every 15 minutes on an eZen vehicle.
Technology
eZen platforms are the products over over 2 decades of research and development, with the skateboard battery format providing safe, efficient, and sturdy construction in all our vehicles. All of our vehicles feature advanced telematics and over-the-air software updates, making it easy to stay connected and up-to-date.
eZen EVs have several key advantages over traditional gasoline-powered vehicles, with zero tailpipe emissions low operating costs. EVs significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, making them a cleaner and more sustainable mode of transportation. In most areas, electricity is cheaper than gasoline and maintenance costs for EVs are typically lower too - they have fewer moving parts than traditional internal-combustion vehicles. Electric motors also provide instant torque, resulting in smooth and quiet acceleration.
Environmental sustainability is important to us, which is why we've moved away from lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries as much as possible. By using solid-state batteries in all of our vehicles, we're using less lithium to provide greater battery capacity - reducing the impact of lithium mining on the environment. Solid-state batteries have higher energy density than Li-ion batteries, requiring fewer battery units per car. There's also no risk of explosion or fire, so there is no need to add weight and material for battery safety, thus saving more space and using fewer materials.
At every stage, we think about the car's lifecycle and use recyclable and sustaibly-sourced materials as much as possible in every eZen product.
Safety
All eZen vehicles have the latest in automotive safety systems, including multiple airbags, lane-keep assist, automatic braking systems, and wide-angle cameras in place of traditional wing mirrors. On top of that, semi-autonomous driving capabilities are offered on all cars. The batteries, being solid-state, are naturally safer than traditional Li-ion batteries and have no risk of fire or explosion.

[OOC: I feel like modern car design is a bit too fussy sometimes and often wonder what cars would look like if modern electric technology existed in the 1980s and 1990s. All designs are my own using the game "Automation"]
