Throughout 2023, the International Broadcasting Alliance will introduce sports events under the IBA Sports Championships. This will be open for member states of the International Broadcasting Alliance. During Cycle 2, the Wintersports and Racquets Champs will be taking place alongside the Netball Challenge.
How to participate
Who can participate?
As of Monday 20th November 21:45 GMT there are over 130 eligible nations that can submit delegations to The IBA Sports Championships II. We're more than willing to have new members, so if you would like to participate and you are not on this list, please sign up on the International Broadcasting Alliance | General Thread - it's quick and easy and even associate members can sign up...
Can I sign up now?
- You are able to sign up 79 entrants in cycle 2 of the IBA Sports Championships. In order to sign-up, please read on:
- The IBA has produced a HTML version of the sign-ups which you can use in order to create sign-ups for the competition. It's a quick and easy method once you're done, you can click "Generate Signups" and you can copy and paste what shows up there. Be mindful that you won't be able to save your progress and come back to it - so this is best if you'd like to do the sign-up quickly and at one time.
- Alongside that, there is a Excel/Google Sheets. It will provide exactly the same results as the above link, but you're able to save it and come back to it. As you're not able to edit it straight away, please download it or make a copy on Google Sheets - but please read the instructions beforehand.
- Skill modifiers has been set to be between 0-20, with 20 being the best and most experienced athlete in your nation whereas 0 would be given to someone who has just about managed to make it on the delegation. Your average skill modifier will have to be lower or equal to 10 so you might want to choose your modifiers carefully, perhaps giving more skill points to the sports you feel like your nation would excel in compared to others. You will have to make sure your standard deviation is less than 6.5. This means, you will not be able to have a delegation of only 20s and 0s - make it varied.
- Once you've completed either of the above forms, please post it on this thread and wait for it to be approved.
Extra information
• For TABLE TENNIS, if you have completed a full table tennis delegation (two males, two females and a mixed team), your nation will be automatically entered into the Table Tennis Team event, giving yourself another chance of winning a gold medal.
WINTERSPORTS
• For LUGE, if you submit at least one male, one female and one doubles (of any sex), your nation will be automatically entered into the Luge Relay Team event, giving yourself another chance of winning a gold medal.
• For SHORT TRACK SPEED SKATING, if you submit at least two males and two females, your nation will be automatically entered into the 2000m Mixed Relay Team event, giving yourself another chance of winning a gold medal.
• For NORDIC COMBINED, athletes are submitted automatically into the Normal and Large Hill events, giving your athlete an extra chance to win a gold medal. If you would like this changed/would like separate athletes to compete in the normal/large hill, please mention this at the bottom of the sign up or TG Britonisea. Once the sign ups are closed, the entry is considered final. The athletes will maintain the same skill.
• For FIGURE SKATING, at least one male, one female entry alongside duos for the free and ice dance will automatically qualify your nation for the figure skating team event.
NETBALL
• The Netball Challenge will be a medal event at these Games and are included in the sign-ups but are not part of the IBA Championships. Please contact StrayaRoos regarding this.
Deadline
- The deadline has been set at 13TH DECEMBER 2023, but the IBA might close earlier if we get enough interest. The first events is expected to happen about 48 hours afterwards. The IC Thread will open on the 5th December in the evening, so we recommend users get their signups in by then.
- There will be one final update on the 10th December 2023 with a full list of confirmed nations being posted. If your sign-up is rejected then you will not compete so please sign up earlier.
