The Emperor sat on his balcony, watching the reddened and dark sky in the distance. An advisor walked out and stood next to him.
"Should we, uh, do something?"
The Emperor shrugged. "Not much we can do."
"Yeah, but this is a pretty big disaster. Shouldn't we be sending aid... somewhere?"
"Eh, it was bound to happen eventually. And any aid we send will probably just get destroyed along with everything else. Once this burns itself out we can decide who can be saved."
The advisor fell silent.
"I guess we better go prepare. I have a feeling it's about to get really cold for a decade or three. It'll probably hurt the humans more than us, but invest in warm coats or heating or something anyway. Oh, and tell someone to go defrost the anti-air in case someone misses."
The advisor nodded and left the balcony.
