[DRAFT] Complicated Crowds

Postby Saperetia » Sat Dec 03, 2022 10:59 am

[title] Complicated Crowds

[validity] For nations which allow foreign populations, don't have a too totalitarian regime/police force which destroys protestors on first sight and probably those which don't have sports banned.

[description] Following (NPC nation)'s win in a major sports tournament yesterday, (NPC nations's demonymplural) all over @@NAME@@ have taken to the streets celebrating. Some of them have begun overturning and torching cars, blocking off roads and squares in major cities while celebrating and burning tyres and @@DENONYM@@ flags, as their culture encourages them to do so.

[option 1] "This is ridiculous!" shouts @@RANDOMNAME@@, wearing a top of the national football team. "First, these idividuals come to OUR nation, and then are happy when THEIR team wins? Is patriotism dead? We need to create laws ensuring that OUR teams are the only ones you can root for! Throw the non-patriots to the sharks!"
[effect] Speakeasies for watching other nations play have popped up all over @@NAME@@.

[option 2] "That worst take of all!" says @@RANDOMNAME@@, an immigrant, picking up @@RANDOMNAME1@@ and throwing @@HIM1@@ into a puddle. "We patriotic, just not for you nation! We give you taxes money and should allowed to do what want! Make law now, giving us right to freely support all!"
[effect] @@DENONYM@@ flags are the least common in the nation.
note: Grammar is intentionally scuffed in this option.

[option 3] "See, this is what I've been warning you about for all this time." chimes in @@RANDOMNAME@@, pulling @@HIS@@ two kids behind @@HIM@@ on a leash. "People are getting very nasty injuries playing sports. You need to outlaw them, @@LEADER@@! Ban every single one of them, because if you leave a single one behind, people might die!"
[effect] Running down the street might get you prison time.

I was planning on getting that done last, I put it here to get advice on how to improve the actual issue.

There's a few grammar issues throughout, unless it was intentional, considering a foreigner might not have you language as their first language. Overall, this issue premise is pretty nice. Seems a little cookie-cut though.

Yeah, those mistakes were intentional. It's based on IRL events with Morocco and the Netherlands so i might get some inspiration on improvements on that.

It's not specified that they defeated @@NAME@@, just that they won a major sports tournament. It's left vague because I think that would be the best to fit with all nations. But if you think that it is better to specify, I can change it.

Could be that it is common to do that for them back home, could be because they defeated @@NAME@@, could be because that is the youth of today. What do you think would fit best?

What about an option that allows to cheer for whoever you want, as long as you respect @@NAME@@. Could lead to people getting deported for booing

For most issues that I have seen, I feel that most of the time the options are (or are a variation of):
Extremely one way
Really extremely one way
Extremely the other way
Really extremely the other way
Third way
Joke/not serious answer
(I don't remeber ALL issues so there might be exceptions)
I usually don't see a "resonable" answer that is in the middle.
But if you think I'm wrong, say so.

The other part makes it moderate in my opinion.
