I am trying to make the right decisions, but keep messing up

So, a few minutes ago, I passed a law outlawing elections. Now, I did not know it outlawed elections, as all it said was something about needing to have different, better dictators. Originally, I was a good nation, but because of my stupidity, I clicked the wrong button. Can anyone help me on this? Currently, I am trying to remove this law, but I do not know how to.

Wrong forum, go to a Non-rp forum for that.

But you can either wait for issues that raise your political freedoms, or issues to re-legalize elections.

Hell, you can even disregard most, if not all stats and policies and claim they're non-canon, and can either use R.P stats which you make up, or have...none at all.

Another tip is to go to the settings page and click the box that says 'Require confirmation before passing legislation' (assuming you haven't already done that), which will make so choosing an issue option won't automatically enact it, giving you the chance to double check your choice to make sure you don't fuck up and choose a completely wrong option.

I'm sorry that happened to you. NS outcomes are sometimes ridiculous, but unfortunately, there's nothing you can do to remove that policy until you get an issue that removes it. If you look up "NationStates Issues Outcomes", there's a website that I sometimes use to make sure that the decision I make won't make my nation go from a democracy to a full-on military dictatorship (that's mostly an exaggeration, but you get the point).

The website lists every NS issue (as far as I know) and tells you the results, including what policies each decision will add or get rid of.
