To understand the party that calls itself the Animelandean Political Party or APP, you must understand the attitudes it has and how it came into existence. Most politicians died in the recent fall of the country with most of the ones surviving also losing interests in their old ideologies that no longer apply to the country. What remained was mostly the Japanese Communist Party which was bought out long ago and had a very small Marxist influence. This was reformed into a big-tent bureaucracy party for the nation of Animeland, basically creating a government of many faceless, nameless politicians who just run the country to make a living. This uninterested bureaucracy so far has done as little as it possibly can to avoid any backlash or conflict with any members in society. This has caused them to legalize soft narcotics and has led to a very rebellious and anarchistic youth in a traditional East Asian country. It has also created political apathy as people see their government as functional in nature, and mainly keeping their lights on and their economy running while not really bothering to do anything else.
The APP is mostly non-ideological and some may even see them as a relatively lazy political party, but positive advancements have been made to environmental protections, tourism, civil rights, and political freedom for Animelandeans. In practice, the party effectively neutralizes Japanese nationalism by striking down any ideas that the nation is built on a single ethnicity, ideology, or culture. This has caused fury within a few extremists in Animelandean society, but it is unlikely this tiny minority would ever pose a threat.
