ENTRIES 54*
AVG 65

Italicized entries denote GAT season 1 champions (four defending champions; 50 entries total).

Full meet name: Nykipiflugpuun Ihmyysporttityrnyy
Location of meet: Timantirkaan Sporttirakennus, Timantirkas, Nykipiflugpuu (Indoor)
Middle-distance race length 1: 1000m
Middle-distance race length 2: 1500m
Long-distance race length: 3000m
Additional information: After much scrutiny and doubt was placed upon the ability of the organizers of Nykipiflugpuun Ihmyysporttityrnyy to successfully host an international sporting event on Nykipish soil, the inaugural edition of the event was ultimately held in the ill-constructed Timantirkaan Sporttirakennus in central Timantirkas, much to the shock and dismay of the international community.

Nevertheless, with the archipelago under the new administration of Kyrmy Kyrmynen, and in light of the thawing of relations between Nykipiflugpuu and the Abovian government, the Timantirkaan Sporrtirakennus (Timantirkas Sports Building) — a heated, low-capacity indoor athletics facility complete with a roof and functional lighting — has been elected to serve as the sole venue for Aboveland and Nykipiflugpuu in the second edition of the Global Athletics Tour. The Nykipiflugpuu Tourism and Sporting Board once again sponsors the event; Administrator Kyrmynen has claimed that "the GAT placing a vote of confidence on the NTSB and my own administration will give Nykipiks and Abovians alike a well-deserved, and sorely needed, chance at redemption."

Due to the forum downtime today, Joongyeong Day 2 will now be tomorrow. There is no change to the schedule otherwise, so there will be a gap of only one day to Meet 3.

Meet 6 will proceed as planned today and tomorrow.
Due to the low level of interest this season, I'm going to cut the Challenger meets out of the calendar with apologies to the four hosts. That's going to save me extra work for the limited return.
That will also allow the other meets to be moved up.

This is the new calendar:
24–25 Oct: Meet 6b: Münzenbruck Überlaufenwerfenspringenleichtathletikgebangbangsschwachsteinermopedvroomprix, Olympienstadion Arkangelsplatz, Münzenbruck, Schutzenphalia and West Ruhntuhnkuhnland
8–9 Nov: Meet 7b: Kirungabi Itangira Guhera International Athletics Festival, Arène Inganji, Imisozi, Kirungabi
12–13 Nov: Meet 8a: RTC Hawabark Classic, Hawabark Olympic Stadium, Hawabark, Banija
16–17 Nov: Meet 9a: Ashcroft Bank Britonish Grand Prix, National Athletics Centre, Quickenden, Britonisea
22–23 Nov: Meet 10b: Neverend Grand Prix, Stade Grande Olympique, Neverend, Liventia
28–29 Nov: Meet 11b: Met Trust Darmeni Athletics Grand Prix, National Stadium, Scott City, Darmen
3–4 Dec: Meet 12a: Athletica Arcjuga, Otjalas stadions, Arcjuga, Kuraita*
12 Dec: Meet 13 / GAT Final: Talos River Classic, Olympic Stadium, Nassau Bay, New Gelderland

*As Chartistan has RPed this season but not Kuraita, I am open to changing this meet to the Billboard Heatseekers Grand Prix in Chartistan (however maintaining the 1500m race rather than the mile).

With the continued lack of interest, and after a brief non-extensive survey on Discord, I'm going to continue with the second half of the season, but at a later date when the football World Cup and Cup of Harmony finals have finished. The new schedule also no longer has a focus on finishing this year, with some spillover into January.

The new schedule has longer periods between meets as well.

I'm really hoping this produces at least some level of RP and interest for the second half of the season.

26–27 Nov: Meet 7b: Kirungabi Itangira Guhera International Athletics Festival, Arène Inganji, Imisozi, Kirungabi
3–4 Dec: Meet 8a: RTC Hawabark Classic, Hawabark Olympic Stadium, Hawabark, Banija
13–14 Dec: Meet 9a: Ashcroft Bank Britonish Grand Prix, National Athletics Centre, Quickenden, Britonisea
20–21 Dec: Meet 10b: Neverend Grand Prix, Stade Grande Olympique, Neverend, Liventia
4–5 Jan 2023: Meet 11b: Met Trust Darmeni Athletics Grand Prix, National Stadium, Scott City, Darmen
11–12 Jan: Meet 12a: Athletica Arcjuga, Otjalas stadions, Arcjuga, Kuraita OR Billboard Heatseekers Grand Prix, Chartistan
15 Jan: Meet 13 / GAT Final: Talos River Classic, Olympic Stadium, Nassau Bay, New Gelderland

I announced this on Discord earlier this week, but posting it here too:
I am suspending the season indefinitely. I can't in good faith continue to take time out to scorinate it without anyone RPing it, but I don't feel like we're able to skip straight to the final either. Perhaps season 2 will resume next year irl if some downtime that fits everyone's schedule can be found. The season is not over by any means, just… on hold.
