[Livonian Social Democratic Republic]

Five gunshots shattered the tense peace in the parliament. Three of them hit Prime Minister Aurelia Juraszczyk resulting in her death. The other two killed Generals Mirosław Winkowsk and Budzisław Gałkowsk. In the ensuing chaos the gunman managed to escape. Livonian military forces tensed in preparation for a Military Invasion. Yet, it was a strike from the inside. General Dominik Libera proclaimed his party LWP or Livonian Worker's Party to be in charge. At first the then major Populist Party accepted it nervously. As time went on it was realized that Libera was going to reform the Livonian People's Republic, starting with banning the use of the internet. More chaos ensued after the banning of the Populist Party, Unionist Party, and Neutralist Party. The final straw was the Nadbor Massacre where 38 civilians were killed during a peaceful protest.

General Dominik Libera's dictatorship began to crumble around him. Not long after members of the Populist, Unionist, and Neutralist party formed the "United Livonian Front" and led Military Forces in open rebellion against the General. Although this would be considered chaotic enough. Several other regions proclaimed their independence. "The Livonian State" led by the official Interim Government and the "West Livonian Revolutionary Front" which claimed itself as a better Communist Government. Military combat quickly flared between the ULF and WLRF while the Livonian State and General Dominik Libera's horde clashed. The first major victory would be given to the WLRF after securing Nadbor in a bloody battle where Five Hundred Militia forces loyal to the ULF faced overwhelming odds of nearly six thousand.

Representatives from all sides however began to go international to locate aid and help.
Only time will tell if Livonia can be saved.

Livonian Anarchy

After several weeks of savage combat nearly all aircraft were destroyed, tanks laid burning in the dense forests, and the pitiful remnants of the pre collapse army hardly tallies 30,000 spread between all sides. The Livonian State began their last march into the Andrzejow outskirts as the General's horde began their barbaric charge. The tattered flag of Livonia in the central park continued to fly as the last guns fired.

The ULF reeled back into the extremely dense forests of Nadbor and began to rebuild the old forts to hold back the charge of the WLRF. The WLRF responded by turning the city of Nadbor into a fortress and started to artillery the ULF into oblivion. Yet the ULF refused to give up and submit to the
extreme communists.

Livonian troops began to dig in on all sides. The hellish trenches that were dug were something the Livonian government feared for many years.
The Trench warfare has only once begun.

The Republic of Erloane expresses concerns over Livonia.

With the legitimate government of Livonia overthrown and Livonian Worker´s Party´s taking over, the Republic of Erloane will support the legitimate government of Livonia. What kind of support will the Erloanean government provide yet remains to be know with the Senate debating possible actions.

While General Libera's far-left policies may speak to unaddressed needs of the people, we wholeheartedly believe these actions are those of a would-be despot who cares little for the populace. We are sanctioning him and his known associates; a few assets in Grussland linked to him and his supporters have been seized pending an investigation into the crime against humanity committed by the WLF.

Given the decimation of faced by the people of Livonia, Grussland intends to immediately begin shipments of medical supplies by air and sea. Financial support for the ULF and Livonian people is also being considered, with an initial $100 million being earmarked for humanitarian and income support purposes alone. Additional amounts are also available to the ULF, dependent on them confirming their needs.

Ultimately, all sciences boil down to philosophy. All arts, also, return to it. Even the man who perceives himself practical and cynical makes some manner of ethical assumption before he begins making his plans – in his declarations that he is ‘pragmatic’ he merely is evading the true hard necessity of considering his choices in depth. This does not mean that the choices are not made.

Thus it is also with national policies. States which claim claim their policy is devoid of ideology are merely working on implicit, rather than explicit, ideological choices.

The Free Kingdom of Allanea is opposed, ideologically, to communist and socialist parties. When the Free Kingdom’s government is not able or not willing to wage full war against these groups, it nonetheless does not cease to be their enemy.

Decisions are made, orders issued. In an artificial cave, its ceiling and walls concrete and steel arches, the FKS Cretoxyrhina began to move, its black hull and rounded sail descending into the water even before it left the cave exit.

It was a moonless night when the submarine departed its pen, and the people in the nearby town had no immediate inkling of its departure – although doubtless in a few days rumors would begin to move, from the base personnel to people living in the town, from the submariners’ families to their extended kin – but all that they would know, at best, was that the Cretoxyrhina had departed on a secret mission. Even the men on board did not know much more than that.

Elsewhere, a vessel festooned with radomes and antennae began to move into a position, a modest 300 miles from the Livonian shores, away from any international boundaries. There, it will listen and scan.

A New Player

A tired Admiral lowers himself into a battered old chair. Across from him a Colonel and Major sit nervously, their aides handing them neatly done files. "Admiral Dworak...I understand that you've rallied us because... we're loyal." The admiral began to nod before starting. "As you all know, we're cut off from the ULF. We're not seen as anything important to the ULF. We've been abandoned If we are to stay with the ULF it is only a matter of time before the WLRF comes tumbling for the harbour. Our best chance... is to reform the Free Livonian Fleet. I understand that both of you have the men to protect our navy and the interests of us three men."

During the next several hours the flag of the Livonian Navy replaced the Livonian flag over Juozapo. Three naval fleets began to relocate from their bases to the territory claimed by the FLF. The largest port city and the many smaller port towns proudly fly the Naval flag. The ULF quickly saw the cut off region as deserting, yet their issue with the WLRF halted their attempts to capture back the city of Juozapo.

A very, VERY fiery problem

20 miles north of Andrzejow, a battle rages between all four major sides. The battle for Moszkowicz Airbase rages. While the stockpile of helicopters and fighters are a reward themselves. There is one reward for whoever secures this base, the Nuclear arsenal. While there are several other locations of nuclear equipment. This one is the largest stockpile of short range ICBMs, specifically the ITR2. As the fight rages on more and more, the airbase starts to resemble a no-mans land from World War 1.

There is no doubt in what will happen when the last bullets fire here.

Anton Kapek assumes control over The Livonian State

After several weeks of The Livonian State being under the Emergency Federal Council, representative Michał Kubiak announced that the former Minister of Finance Kapek is the most suitable candidate for their head of state. Kapek has already taken his interim government on a total reversal of the Socialist policies of the Livonian SDR, as he stated in his address "Socialism and it's policies failed our nation. Look at where we are if you want proof." Whether his policies work or not is yet to be found.

Closer to the End

News has come from the stiff fighting in Andrzejow. After Dominik Libera and his forces were shelled, several of the bridges that connected the city across the Palka river cutting off Dominik's field command and a decent number of forces. Livonian State officials attempted to offer Dominik a ceasefire. Even though he understood his situation, he refused to surrender. Later that week a force of Irregulars managed to capture Dominik's forward command base as well as capturing a number of his command force. Rumors have circulated that Libera was captured or killed however as of now neither his force nor Livonian State officials confirm or deny this situation. Many cities across several of the borders have been seen celebrating the first news that Libera may be dead.

Our core belief is to bring back the historical neutrality of Livonia and a neutral government. We see human and civil rights are a requirement for this core idea. Our goals are to dismantle the nuclear supply of ITR2 land based models. While keeping the naval as a deterrent. Given the fact we control the coastal regions that are Integrated into the mainland Livonia, and a neutral government, using us as a humanitarian foothold is a wise idea and we are willing to work to deliver humanitarian aid.

The Great Fire of Andrzejow

During the last outward push of the Livonian State to rid remnants of Libera's forces, a large fire was reported from the parliament building which had stood for some 135 years. Desperate attempts by the last of the fire brigade who had refused to leave during the siege failed. The fire eventually spread to nearby Government buildings. Within only 3 hours of the first firemen arriving nearly all of the government block was engulfed in the fire, yet the fighting continued. Both military and civilian accounts report that groups of men and women from both sides began to attempt to halt the fire. Their bravery allowed many of the trapped men to escape the ever worsening fire. While a definitive kill count is not yet available, at least 3 blocks were destroyed in full, with another 7 being damaged by it. Both sides continue to blame each other for the fire. One of the last recognizable remnants of the parliament building was a single half-melted bird cage.

For this purpose we are sending a liaison officer and a SATCOM antenna to Port Artur, where our representative can assist in establishing a communication that would be secured both by means of tightbeam communications and by means of high-power encryption.


We would prefer if your organization prepared to share with us technical information about the storage of the ITR2 missiles, as well as the communications systems and radar frequencies that were used by the Livonian Armed Forces before the current civil war, and moreover, about the organization of Livonia’s cellular phone and landline phone network, its railroads, and its power network. It would be also useful to receive information about the most important hazards facing the country’s civilians (hunger? Shortages of specific foods? Heating? Disease?)

This would allow us to better plan the next stage of our operations, however obviously all of this information must be transmitted by us via the abovementioned secure line.

Another message is sent from Port Arthur

With recent events occurring on other sides we can presume with winter approaching many in the capital will be starving, freezing, and suffering from disease. While our neutrality in the civil war has allowed us to keep a decent standard of living this cannot be said for the other sides. Landline phone communication is no longer practical as many of the forces cut lines to prevent communication to the other side. Many of the power stations are located in the Pabich region which is under majority control of the WLRF. Even before the civil war the unorganized railroads were impractical. The dense forests surrounding Nadbor make the region only practically accessible from the few roads going in and out, this also means that the locals have to resort to less legal means to get food and heating. Many ITR2 silos are stored in Eastern Regions, which cannot be discussed exactly where due to this channel. We are VERY willing to have Free Kingdom peacekeepers assist in making the WLRF avoid us completely and possibly get a proper ceasefire with whoever secures the rest of the nation. Of course, if you'd like for us to have a personal meeting off of Port Arthur we can detach the 3rd Anti-Submarine Warfare detachment for this purpose. Any information about Radar and Communication frequency will be given in a more private communcation.

Operation Bullseye

In the dead of night on a lone Livonian road a convoy of armoured trucks, disguised as mail vans were carrying 50 soldiers in total. This group was entirely made up of the most elite soldiers of the 12th South African Nytoan Legion. Leading them is Brigadier General Jackson Smith. There orders were to kill generals and officers of the LWP and destroy small isolated LWP military positions. Noticing a small military outpost belonging to the LWP they decided to attack. With only 10 soldiers there they sent 20 soldiers to attack. The silence of the night was broken by the sound of a machine gun shooting dozens of bullets. Soon 7 of the soldiers were dead with the remaining 3 surrendering and were disarmed. After getting back on the road they soon were stationed in civilian areas where officers would go by, then they would kill them.

A brief inquiry with the Navy databases revealed no officers that were of high enough rank and also spoke Livonian. The next best choice was made, then. Captain Kaspar Krysinsky, Naval Intelligence, was sent. As a Polish speaker he was judged to be able to at least partly understand the Livonians. Several subordinates accompanied him – a team of eight people in total, pilots included. A unique aircraft was chosen for the mission – the XL-2 Vukodlak liaison aircraft, a miracle of Lauzannean aerospace engineering.

It carried on board also a satellite dish and communications equipment, necessary for establishing the secure transmission that Captain Krysinsky needed for his mission.

And so the aircraft flew, swift and black like a sparrow, towards Port Arthur.

Elsewhere, in Allanea itself, stockpiles of emergency equipment were being opened up – food, medications, blankets, and heating gear. Cargo aircraft and even a pair of ships were being prepared for the newest mission.

Collapse of Libera's forces

As Libera continues to be absent and presumed dead news has broken out that groups have begun to break off. While many reports show mass desertion to the WLRF, others show groups becoming completely independent. While these groups are undeniably not considered much beyond a group of travelling bandits, killing and looting to survive. While no major groups have risen out of the ashes of Libera's failure it is only a matter of time before a semi organized group forms. While in the Livonian State officials prepare to announce the death of Libera officially.

After several days of feverish work reviewing satellite photography and intelligence data, the Allanean Navy proposed an initial plan of action.

“It is necessary,” – Krysinsky explained, “for us to prevent the WLRF or the bandit groups acquiring your nation’s nuclear weapons. This is not because we are against your nation having nuclear weapons in the future, when all this blows over – we are against those particular people having them because they might use this if they get desperate. We propose, therefore, destroying the weapons in their silos, either by means of air strikes or by means of commando attacks. Could there be some radiation leaks? Yes, it’s not entirely impossible. But to be honest, we believe having some radioactive materials thrown into the air when we’re destroying a TBM is a better option than having one of those nutjobs delete one of your cities from the map.”

"Air strikes would be too risky." A youngish Lieutenant said while looking up from a decently thick stack of radar images. A few other Livonian officers nodded their heads in agreement. A Captain sitting next to the Lieutenant glared at him before suggesting "We could attempt to get a message over the fence to the State officials, maybe an alliance or offer some reward for destroying some ICBMs." Many nodded in agreement across the room. "We could always just do some black-ops..." muttered a comms officer.

"This depends, I believe, on how the rockets are stored." - Krysinsky pointed to an image of an ICBM silo "If it's in a silo or in an underground storage facility, I have been briefed that an aboveground explosion to collapse the roof or to jam the silo doors would be reasonably safe - the rocket is, obviously, underground when it happens, if the rocket is not damaged it still cannot be launched and if it is damaged the damage is largely contained. It's when they are transported aboveground that damage to the warhead is at most dangerous. So it seems that a combination of strikes on underground facilities and special operations, whether by your men or ours, are the middle ground we are seeking."

Trouble in the United Front

The ULF has been shrouded in extreme confusion recently, as both them and the Livonian State aim to bring a level of democracy back yet the State controls more valuable land, equipment, and manpower. With the first "New Livonian Republic Election" in the ULF being considered fraudulent and just a way to keep acting Prime Minister Ksawery Bosko in office a little longer. Many civilians and soldiers have started to defect to the Livonian State while tensions between the ideologies that make up the ULF start to polarize. Many smaller ideologies that made up the ULF have begun to form their own cliques and allies. To make matters worse, the "capital" of Topolin fell to WLRF in the early days of the war and in a quick act the nearby city of Nadbor was the temporary capital, yet as of now there seems to be no hope of reclaiming the true capital or Topolin.

Operation Nobody

Satellites pass overhead, their sensors unblinking. The electronic intelligence ship listens, its antennae swaying only slightly in the strong sea winds. In Liberty-City, a small team of a dozen men pores over the photos and records, and the information sent over from the Livonians on Port Arthur.

The information is more or less consistent:

The Workers Liberation Revolutionary Front is a monster with but one eye the Nadbor Radar Station.

Surfacing at a scheduled time, the Cretoxyrhina receives its new orders - a set of target coordinates, and a few files describing the terrain layout.

The beast has one eye.

The eye cannot blink.

The beast cannot dodge.

The water boils.

From steam and smoke they rise – a dozen of them, grey, elongated like cigars. They are cruise missiles. They turn, and they fly, wings opening like the blades on robbers’ knives.

They are not perfect. The ‘blade’ on one of the missiles’ right flank does not open, and instead of flying low over the waves it flashes, helpless, into the water.

The rest, however, fly on to their target. They broadcast nothing. They only receive. Data from geopositioning satellites serves them to correct their own inertial guidance, and they speed low over the water. Their engines no longer glowing with flames visible to the eye, but they roar still, like the roar of an airliner flying far too low overhead.

Now they are over land – over roads, mountains, hills. Still they are low.

Eleven of them are still in the air – six carrying a simple warhead, a single large explosive charge. The other five are loaded with hundreds of dual-use submunitions, cased in hot-burning zirconium to burn steel, armed with small cumulative charges cut through light armor or even the roofs of enemy tanks, the warheads prefragmented to scythe down infantry and damage sensitive equipment.

It is possible some may be shot down.

The Allaneans hope at least one will be through.

They want to blind the monster.
