I suppose there's also https://nationstates.net/cgi-bin/api.cgi?q=newnations, that only updates when you refresh the page -- fair warning though, it's an API shard which means you can only refresh the page 50 times in 30 seconds, see the API documentation for more information, and the ratelimit section in particular.

Given that new nations are almost never created at anywhere near that ratelimit, you'd never want a refresh rate like that. One refresh every ten minutes would surely catch everyone.Spiderman wrote:It still has a little pause button at the top, way over to the right
The double-arrow icon reverses the order, so you can take your time to page through it. Very convenient when looking for offensive nation names.

Really? That's been a moderation task since the early days. Deliberately offensive or overtly sexual nation names are not allowed.Spiderman wrote:to me using that resource to find offensive nation names would seem almost like using a microscope to find a needle in a haystack.
The mods have a better tool that auto-highlights common offensive terms and variants. I can clear 12 hours worth in about 5 minutes.

You can report offensive nation names via Getting Help. I wouldn't bother with that one, as it's just this side of permissible. If it had offensive motto. animal, or currency (it didn't), it might have crossed the line.
