The most common caliber used on modern jets nowadays are between 20mm to 30mm, and speeds on said jets range from Mach 2 to Mach 3 the only known aircraft to reach very high Mach speeds I know of was the North American X-15 reaching Mach 6.7 however this jet wasn't used for military purposes as it was used by NASA for either training or research purposes

a ramjet is a jet engine that has no major moving parts however said engine still requires jet fuel to work solar energy and heat from friction wouldn't cut it
