Name: Singular Troughs
Date of Filming: 4067NC - Present
Genre: Political horror
Basic Plot: A young idealistic politician runs for Parliament and moves to Xerconia, with the show initially appearing to be a run-of-the-mill political thriller. However the show slowly becomes more surreal and horrific as the young MP slowly uncovers the truth that Radiatia's parliament is controlled by a malevolent supernatural entity from another dimension.

The show is widely lauded in Radiatia for deconstructing the political thriller genre and creating a new genre called 'political horror' as well as providing a commentary of the 'alien' way that politicians tend to operate, with a popular theory being that the evil alien creature is a metaphor for Radiatia's corporate oligarchs and the influence they wield over politicians and society.

Name: Two Sides of the Same Coin
Date of Filming: 2019-Present
Genre: Historical biographical drama
Basic Plot: Following the real life events and being set in the war torn Federation after the civil war caused by the political instability in the dawn of First World War, Equai is split in half with iron fences and bigoted paramilitaries controlling each side of the borders. With the family of the other side of the torn country a freshly high-school graduate Joseph Sacreno decides to join the south paramilitary unit in order to help his family return home. However, after he meets a guard from the north paramilitary Leonardo Licapicco and began bonding they realize the hate and despair their units and the war governments spread and decide to rise the ranks in their regions in order to re-unify the country.
Critics praised the series for being honest to the memoirs of both protagonists. They also put accent on the fact that filmmakers given the insights of both sides and delivered uncensored events and gruesomeness committed by both sides, and the clever usage and subverzion of dual protagonist trope. General public continues to learn new things about Joseph and Leonardo. However, some group of people said that the series is too gruesome to be shown in the times where families are watching TV together. As of 2022, the series aired 2 seasons out of 5 and plans to conclude the series with a full length movie.
Director: Luciana Sacreno, a great-granddaughter of Joseph.

Postby Gandoor » Thu May 12, 2022 7:51 pm

Name: Rose

Date of Filming: 1950 - Present (Television-only, the series originally premiered on the radio in 1924)

Genre: Drama

Basic Plot: Rose is a long-running Gandoorese television drama focusing on the lives of the Appleday family, who live on 72 Count Road in the fictional town of Heisburg, Juon Yon. The series originally focused on the title character, Rose Appleday, a 24 year old woman who had just given birth to her first child, Peter.

The series is the first and longest-running drama series in Gandoor, having originally debuted on Alimore (the third radio broadcaster in our nation) in 1924 before debuting on television on ATV (the television network owned by Alimore) in 1950 (episodes would continue to air on the radio until 1953). (The rights to the series would later be sold to the GBC, Gandoor's public broadcaster, in June 1957 when Alimore was forced to shut down ATV while facing financial struggles in the aftermath of the Gandoor Civil War. The GBC began airing the series on GBN in August 1957)

Rose's television run has become known for referencing contemporary events in Gandoor and the world, a topic which was generally avoided during the series' radio run in order to not date the series (during its early days, Rose did not air at a single time and date nationally, with some Alimore radio stations not airing episodes for weeks or months after they debuted on the 'primary' Alimore stations). Notably, in 1955, Peter Appleday was KIA while fighting in the Gandoor Civil War (the episode never mentioned which Gandoor Peter was fighting for in order to avoid alienating viewers from either side, although his actor would later state in an interview that he likely was fighting for the Democratic Republic as Heisburg had been established as being in Juon Yon, which remained loyal to the Democratic Republic, as early as 1926)

Sadly, the series is also known for its missing episodes. Of the 1745 episodes that were broadcast on radio and television between 1924 and 1957, only 180 exist in either a complete or near-complete state. The remaining of 1565 episodes are either entirely missing or only have a few surviving clips.

None of the 1370 episodes of Rose broadcast exclusively on the radio survive in their entirety, with only 41 of the 155 dual radio/television episodes broadcast between 1950 and 1953 known to survive in their radio format (including 13 episodes that no longer exist in their televised format).

The ATV televised episodes of Rose have a much higher survival rate, with 167 of 375 episodes broadcast from 1950 to 1957 surviving, a survival rate of 44.5%. This higher survival rate is because episodes of Rose were regularly kinescoped for time-delayed broadcast on smaller ATV stations, although many of these kinescopes were later destroyed as they were not created for preservation.

All episodes of the series since it debuted on GBN survive in their entirety, although one-third of episodes produced in colour between 1965 and 1970 only survive via black-and-white kinescopes made for sale to countries that did not broadcast in colour.

Date of Filming: First series- 1973, latest addition to the franchise- three-part OVA’s have been made in 2038, another 10-part OVA is reportedly in the works
Genre: post-apocalyptic cyberpunk
Basic Plot: a recollection of stories all taking place somewhere in the far, far future when the humanity has long abandoned even the traditional ways of thinking, let alone life. What once mattered and was precious has become nothing but dust or garbage- and what remains of humanity traverse the barren language of the endless overgrown Ecumenopolis not searching for food but rather for any reasoning behind the events.
Director: Maj. Gen. Wolfram Von Ludendorff-II

Name: Newport P.D.
Date of Filming: in some form or another 1977-present
Genre: buddy cop action drama
Basic Plot: Two police officers are assigned to different duties in the vast urban landscape of Newport. Their adventures make up the 40+ seasons of the show, with lead roles coming and going. Special 2-part episodes are a tradition at the end of each season. Mainstays of the show include: the main character's bombastic supervisor Lt. Decker who often speaks in unintelligible diatribes and unusual euphemisms, the no-nonsense, tough-on-crime mayor, the Barclay and Monet crime families (a daughter of whom one of the main characters married in season 6), and a petty thief named Joe. Newer staples of the show include: Officer Mary Davis, the first female protagonist, DA Duncan Fletcher, as well as a police car being destroyed in some comedic fashion at least once per episode. The show constantly tops national ratings, so is technically the most popular.
Director: Rick Ritter (1977-1991), Danny Johnson (1991-2009) Martin Clifford (2009-present)
