The Eagle's Club is proud to present Eagles Cup, a modern era re-incarnation of the historic Eagle's Cup. 16+ esteemed nations from throughout the multiverse will compete over 9 Matchdays to lift the Eagle's Cup and earn their place in the Eagle's Club, securing their place as a competitor and potential host in future Eagle's Cups.

Format :: The 16* nations will be split into two 8-team sub-competitions. Each competition will have two groups where 4 teams will play each other nation twice*, once at a stadium of their choosing and once at a stadium of their opponents choosing. The first sub-competition is the Cocoa-bo Challenge Trophy which traces direct lineage to the original Eagle's Cup including the representatives from the Eagle's Club and At-Large entrants. The second sub-competition is strictly invite only, tracing a direct lineage to the Cup of Champions and representing only WCC Sanctioned, Major Event & Select Confederation Champions. From there, the top 2 nations in each group table will advance to the Semi-Final round of each half to be held at an official Eagle's Club location. The winners of these matches will receive a special trophy from the Eagle's Club that also grants the nations honorary status with the Eagle's Club for one competition cycle and advance to the Final of their half. The winners of the Cocoa-bo Challenge Trophy and Cup of Champions will advance to the Eagle's Cup Championship match presented by Cocoa-bo where the winner will be crowned overall champion and granted permanent entry into the Eagle's Club. A third place playoff will also be contested back at the Eagle's Club where medals for the Top Three finishers in the overall will be awarded.

Venues:
Eagles Club, Select and Champions Group stage matches are standard 4-team group stages with Home & Away fixtures. *Regional Groups will see two consecutive 4-team single round robin groups with seeds based on final position in the most recent Cup of Champions Confederations Group phase.
Knockout Round Matches shall be played at an official Eagle's Club location with preference to the Eagle's Club facility of the highest Seed unless no suitable Venue is available
The Final for the Cocoa-bo Challenge Trophy shall be contested at TBD
The Final for the Cup of Champions shall be contested at the TBD
The Final match of the competition shall be the Eagle's Cup Bronze Medal match to be contested at The Eagles Club where all medals will be awarded in a final ceremony.

Transportation support for teams competing in the Eagle's Cup is available through the multinational Logistics and Holdings Company CoCoCo. Cocoa-bo, a primary holding of CoCoCo which heavily leverages the CoCoCo Logistics infrastructure has been signed as the presenting sponsor of the tournament and will have traveling Cocoa-bo booths at all tournament venues.

Eligible Participants :: The bylaws of the Eagle's Club denote guaranteed entry for up to 8 Nations into the Eagle's Cup as follows:

Eagle's Club Members - Minimum 4 entrants into the Eagle's Cup via the Cocoa-bo Challenge Trophy
Eagle's Cup Semi-Finalist - Maximum 3 Entrants into the Eagle's Cup via the Cocoa-bo Challenge Trophy
Non-Member Applicant - Minimum 1 Entrant into the Eagle's Cup via the Cocoa-bo Challenge Trophy

Should the Eagle's Club contain fewer than 4 active member nations then the Eagle's Club allocation to the Cup shall be reduced accordingly. The Eagle's Club shall fill these slots with Non-Member nations by means of Selection, Invitation or Application as necessary to fill the field.

Should the previous cycles Eagle's Cup semi-finalists include Eagle's Club members, or, should any of the previous cycles Eagle's Cup Semi-Finalists fail to send a delegation to the Eagle's Cup, the Eagle's Cup Semi-Finalist's allocation to the Cup shall be reduced accordingly. The Eagle's Club shall fill these slots with Non-Member nations by means of Selection, Invitation or Application as necessary to fill the field.

Per established precedent, entry for at least 4 Nations each into the Champions and Confederations Groups may be earned earned via triumph in recently contested World Cup Committee, Major Recognized Competition including the Cup of Champions and Regionally sanctioned Championships with replacement nations to be selected at the discretion of the Eagle's Club Committee.

NEPHARA
World Ranking:
10th, or so
Preferred Formation: 4-2-3-1
Secondary Formation: 4-4-2 / 4-3-3
Style Modifier: -1
Home Stadium: The Farham Arena in Sabrefell is reserved for the biggest games, but Nephara is a large enough country that it spreads its matches across the nation.
Kit Supplier: Kirola
Nickname: The Cormorants

Crashing out in the group stages is an unacceptable outcome for Nephara, and Triffid Ramsey knew it. She decided her tenure in charge of the national side had reached its natural conclusion, and has been replaced by the livewire tyrant and two-time Emerald Crest winner Elaine Koeller. Koeller's not hanging around waiting. She's made wholesale changes to an aging side, shifting out almost everyone who won't still be in their peak come the World Cup, including a number of WC87 champions. Including, crucially, Kendra Considine, daughter of the previous manager. "I won't be having any of that drama," Koeller scoffed, openly admitting that it was in the service of dressing-room stability, and solidifying her own position.

Overall Record
624 wins - 114 draws - 141 losses
2059 scored - 1035 conceded

Only the second nation in history to achieve the 'Triple Crown' of WCC titles - represented by three stars on the crest.

Tactics
Image
Nepharan football is based around playing hard, pressing aggressively, playing for keeps. Occasionally this leaves gaps behind the high defensive line, though most Nepharan goalkeepers are in the sweeping mould these days to compensate. Marchers are, by and large, a physically imposing folk, and eager to throw their size around. The footballing culture is intensely competitive, and those that survive to make their way to the top are hellbent on winning at any cost. Elbows to the face. Subtle digs in the ribs. Diving is dishonest when opponents do it but streetwise when Nepharim do it. In short, Nephara are the bully from two years above who picked you, specifically, out as a natural target.

That is often the foreign perspective, but it overlooks a key fact; Nepharan football can honestly be beautiful to watch. Generations of players brought up on dry plains or asphalt play the ball quickly and fearlessly along the ground, never sideways when there's a forward option open, always looking to stretch and probe and stay one really good pass away from a goal. Nepharim are undoubtedly physical, even cynical, but their success has been built off the backs of ruthless, fast-paced passing football.

The Godhead
For home matches, and during international tournaments, Nephara wheels out the 'Godhead', a giant boulder with an eerie resemblance to Gethin Ramsey, first manager of the Cormorants in the modern era and by now long dead. Nepharim have a superstitious streak, and while nobody's saying it is, in fact, the mystic reincarnation of their most iconic leader, nobody's quite not saying it, either. The Godhead is traditionally 'walked' to the stadium by Nepharan ultras using an intricate series of ropes, and often a flare is wedged into its 'mouth' to simulate a smoking cigar.

Staff
Manager - Elaine Koeller - Age 55
Assistant Manager - Scylla Vyntra - Age 47
Ambitious, tempestuous and self-assured, Elaine Koeller is the kind of person who thinks benevolent dictatorship would be perfectly viable if it was only her in charge. A goalkeeper in her playing days, she favours a high-tempo, aggressive pressing style that has achieved results at every club she's been at, and is convinced that she can drill it into the national team, given enough overtime on the training grounds. She has no time for disseidence and aims to create a tight-knit, resilient team culture. Remaining in situ from Ramsey's tenure, Scylla Vyntra is a former World Champion, and an experienced assistant manager with designs on a top job, somewhere. Why not here?

Goalkeepers
1 - GK - Urban Malthus (Image Holdenberg) - Age 28 - Uncapped
12 - GK - Medusa Strand (Image Chromatik) - Age 23 - Uncapped
20 - GK - Toxothea Sebring (Image Crisisbless) - Age 22 - Uncapped

Nephara's goalkeeping situation is clear as crystal: Strand and Sebring will fight it out to take over from Aranea Provost, Nephara having the fortune to pack three goalkeepers of generational talent into two generations. In most other eras, Malthus would be better-placed, his recognition likely overdue after stellar work in Eura.

Defenders
2 - RB - Syrene Fischer (Image Crisisbless) - Age 29 - 13 caps
3 - LB - Kyri Levering (Image Aries Chariots) - Age 22 - Uncapped
5 - CB - Gawain Warden (Image Marinos Metropolis) - Age 29 - 22 caps, 2 goals
6 - CB/LB - Ida Sevet-Stokes (Image AFC Corvistone) - Age 24 - 5 caps
18 - RB - Tosca Meadows (Image Brinemouth) - Age 22 - Uncapped
19 - CB - Sven Copperhead (Image Crisisbless) - Age 23 - Uncapped
22 - CB - Fuchsia Longstreet (Image Damogran FC) - Age 27 - Uncapped

A strong point of the team, with a string of young defenders emerging at top Zenith sides. The contest for places in the heart of defence is particularly fierce, with Ettard Mitteager a high-profile absentee; provided Koeller favours Meadows over the redoubtable Fischer, there may be no player above 24 in the entire back line.

Midfielders
4 - HM - Demeter Constantine (Image Crisisbless) - Age 23 - Uncapped
7 - RM - Kestrel Anharbour (Image Vermillion Rage) - Age 21 - Uncapped
8 - CM - Tamara Ulmer (Image Algolia SC) - Age 26 - Uncapped
11 - LM - Isolde Reader (Image Myana) - Age 25 - 13 caps, 3 goals
13 - RM - Jasper Mordecai (Image Aries Chariots) - Age 24 - 10 caps
14 - AM/TK - Rebecca Laskaris (Image Rene Skae) - Age 26 - 7 caps, 1 goal
15 - HM - Sonya Belltower (Image Sabrefell Athletic) - Age 25 - 21 caps
16 - LM - Xanthe Hauser (Image Starling) - Age 23 - Uncapped
21 - CM - Tasha Sauber (Image Sabrefell Athletic) - Age 24 - 20 caps, 4 goals
23 - AM - Tricia Cray (Image Aries Chariots) - Age 26 - Uncapped

A swathe of uncapped players step forward for attention, and many are very much in the frame for World Cup selection down the line. Reader and Laskaris have been proven performers on the fringes of the 23 for quite some time, Anharbour and Constantine have been earmarked for international success since youth level, but the unheralded Tamara Ulmer may have the strongest immediate claim of any, a hard-working, reliable and intelligent midfielder very much in the image of Renate March, a breakthrough player in the Copa Rushmori and already a clear Koeller favourite.

Forwards
9 - ST - Davor Kurtishi (Image AFC Corvistone) - Age 26 - Uncapped
10 - ST - Dauntless Carrick (Image Crisisbless) - Age 27 - 6 caps, 3 goals
17 - ST - Tryphon Archer (Image Admiral Storevik) - Age 27 - Uncapped

While it's Kurtishi who wears the #9 and Carrick who has the most experience, it's really anyone's game up front. Kurtishi and Archer are both the kinds of all-action lone forwards that Koeller looks for most at international level, and while few would rank them as the greatest absolute talents in Nephara's ranks, both could prove very useful. Carrick plays a different role, lower to the ground, a more pure goalscorer, but it's Carrick who is perhaps most like the highly-anticipated Felixe Vetiver, currently with the U20s as Koeller characteristically ignores the clamour to push her higher.

CHARTISTANI NATIONAL TEAM
Squad for the 13th Eagle's Cup

About Chartistan

The Musicalistic Union of the Cities of Chartistan (Often just Chartistan) is a nation in the region of Sonnel. The capital city, Billboard, is where most of the residents live and work, and is also home to the main governing jurisdiction of the country. Other major cities include Official City, Gaon and Aria.

About the National Team

The Chartistani national team picture varies from week to week as do the Chartistani... Charts. The Chartistani NT was decided by this week's Chartistani Hot Chart, a 100 player index of the top players in Chartistan, the Bubbling Under Hot Chart, a 25 player index of up and comers, and whatever other chart we could find.

The main Chartistani home kit is purple with blue accents, while the away kit is mostly black.

Manager: Doctor Lucas Combbrush
A Musicville district citizen of Chartistan's largest city Billboard, Doctor Combbrush has been part of the Chartistani setup since day 1 as the manager of the national team, having the honor of being player-manager for the World Cup 89 qualifiers and Cup of Harmony 81. After a dismal Cup of Harmony 82 compared to the heroics of 81, he's having a roll of the dice as an honorary Eagle as he hopes to lift the Eagle's Cup.

Hot 11

Formation - 3-4-3 Wingers + AM and DM

#1 (Goalkeeper) - Thames Reland - Look what God made.

#5 (Defensive Midfielder) - Tatertot Crazy - Can't you see he broke her first!?

#7 (Center Midfielder) - Anne Delphine - Hello, she's here again.
#8 (Attacking Midfielder) - Gabby "Alphafu" Yves - An obligatory ABCDEFU to your football team.
#9 (Left Winger) - Little Exnash - Chartistani legend, Billboard resident and that guy who came in calling your name.

Aminey - Stade sur la Baie (70000) - home to Aminey CS (and the Aminey Caspians, Aminey Buffaloes, and Aminey Owls).
The flagship stadium, huge production values, the works.

Schemerdrecht - Orange Bowl (54000) - home to Schemerdrecht SVV (and the Schemerdrecht Admirals).
More associated perhaps with the Admirals than the SVV, but it's nearly always sold out venue for great crowds in any sport.

Maethoru - Rikalathen Arena (39000) - home to Maethoru SC (and Mayara Wanderers-Vulpecula).
Close to the KFA's training grounds, at least it has that going for it. Crowds aren't great here.

Étouille - Stade Amandine (30000) - home to Tanques AOE (and the Etouille Vultures).
Some amazing drone shots in front of a crowd that understands its joie de vivre.

Santa Teresa - Estádio Fortaleza (29000) - home to Miradela GD (and the Santa Teresa Sabres).
Made to be exactly 1000 seats larger than their rivals' stadium, the Fortaleza is the upper-class stadium.
OR
Santa Teresa - Estádio Marítimo (28000) - home to Branvon CD.
The working class stadium that is, in all facets, a bit inferior to the Fortaleza. Except the crowds. There's no better stadium for wild crowds.

Maynard - Armskirk Municipal Ground (26000) - home to Maynard AFC.
The unlucky Maynard team have asked the KFA to have their stadium used by the national team - as the only southwestern stadium.

Katashi - Suzumebachi Stadium (25000) - home to Katashi-Kanatsu.
The biggest stadium in the east, Katashi deserves a game. The fans will mostly just cheer for the Yoshiman players, though.

Greencaster - Golhampton Grounds (25000) - home to lower league Langward.
Greencaster is our largest city and... that's their only claim to a Dragonflies home game.

Aevanna - Northern Arena (32000) - home to university team 'Aevanna Ecologiske Universitet'.
The KFA wants some games geographically spread across the country, and so the cold, dark, and cold gridiron Northern Arena is on the list.

We play post-football, a term coined during World Cup 89 to put words to a horrible semifinal between Audioslavia and the Dragonflies, which ended 0-0 after 120 minutes, then all but one penalty was scored in the ensuing series. Post-football means no singing. No cheering. No scoring. Post-football is sideways passes, looking like the same, repetitive movements for minutes on end, but with tiny variations that at some point will get to you. It could be a counterattack, or a shot from distance, or a set piece. Post-football doesn't care if it takes 90 or 120 minutes, or more.

This team is all about containing their opponent, letting them make mistakes, and capitalising on those. Let the other guys get impatient, lose the ball, and immediately go for the counter attack. Yes, it's frustrating to play against, but you have to admit that there's a certain beauty to doing this near-flawlessly every single time. The Dragonflies aren't a very physical team, but can match almost every opponent in stamina (not so much power or speed, though. Typically only the wingers are pacy). Instead, they rely on tactics and patience. The team is also good enough to be in possession a lot and dictate the tempo, though they're not always creative enough to break down the opposing defence - for that, the Dragonflies have learned to be very, very good on counterattacks, set pieces, and a few patterns in open play. Given the experience most of these players have, it's hard to come up with something new they've never seen - and then do that well enough to reliably score. In order to beat us, you'll need to bring two (or more) of the following: power, speed, caution.

Basically, this team comes prepared, is patient, and keeps a cool head.

Image
Numbers 1 to = typically start (but not always, feel free to choose your starters). That's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, X, and =.
Numbers 1-1= are typically selected as starters or subs (but not always, feel free to select some 23+-ers as subs or starters).
Numbers 20 and over are mostly there as emergency replacements, but can be part of the 23-man squad for some qualifiers. These are almost always younger players with a lot of promise.

Image
The standard for this team. Five defenders, a defensive midfielder-slash-pivot, two wingers, an attacking midfielder-annex-second striker, and a pure finisher up front. In possession, one of the defenders can push up: this might be one of the fullbacks to provide width, but can also be one of the centrebacks, in which case the defensive midfielder makes way. The wingers will be wider or narrower based on the opposition, and the same determines how far the fullbacks will advance. In defence, the team becomes narrower, with the defensive midfielder playing spoiler to whoever is trying to find space between the Ko-orenite lines, and the wingers falling back to meet opposing fullbacks. The striker and attacking midfielder will almost always look for space to launch a counterattack.
Image
The alternate lineup, which still adheres to a basic 5-4-1. You could call it a 5-5-0, seeing as the striker is sitting back much further. This lineup works the exact same for the defenders, with or without possession. The defensive and central midfielder are pivots, the wingers have far more freedom to find space, and the striker drops back to receive the ball and allow other players to overlap, enabling them to score a goal rather than the striker themselves. In defence, the midfielders can organically shrink and expand their 'pentagram-five' formation much more fluidly.

The Eagles' Cup is Davenport's prime opportunity to look for the next core of the Dragonflies. The KFA always sends a full-fledged squad to the tournament, with a huge focus on under-23 talent. This means that there are fewer known commodities from Maethoru SC, Aminey CS, and foreign leagues, and we get to see some players from other (though still Top League) teams - Branvon CD seems to be busy rebuilding something that could take them back to their halcyon days, with the selections of GK Miramontes and fullback Aelea. There's the token Straudum VV defender, you can't put together a national team without one of those. Then there's some players at second division teams, so if those teams don't promote soon, those are the names we'll see in Maethoru and Aminey before too long. These are Huthwich's yPofrewdd, Gehrenna's Abyssite, and Sterrenwolde's Iverszoon. Besides their second division-ness, there's one other distinct feature: they all play in a defensive position.

When we look at the midfielders, we have for Gehrennans (the language) playing for teams that are already pretty big: Tanques AOE, Maethoru SC, Advance Alara, Miradela GD, Katashi-Kanatsu, or Burnaby SC in Kelssek, one of the biggest leagues of the multiverse. When looking at the strikers, that effect is even worse: Sadelaer is the starting Schemerdrecht SVV striker, Deslys has already had some incredible campaigns as Tanques' finisher, Archer has numerous call-ups to the all-age national team as Ko-orenite champion with Aminey CS, and Aomelirea has moved to Eura's Revolutionaries - another club with massive multiversal implications. Could it be that, after decades of defensive focus, our new stars mainly play further up the pitch?

Among the best players - so far - between the ages of 19 and 23, which is where most Ko-orenite scouts expect players to already have developed into pro-ready players that still have some 4-8 years of development before hitting their prime, we find more midfielders and strikers than defenders. Sure, there are names like Abi Lavaud, blossoming into a potential Dragonfly, but was taught the trade in Quebec's Montreal Koreana academy rather than a Ko-orenite club. And those aren't exactly known for failing defensive talents. There's yLleamaid, who went unnoticed until WSR AFC took a punt at him by putting him on their second squad, and then WSR AFC promoted to the Top League and needed Niniaw's services after all, and he hasn't looked back since. Of this group of players, only Archer took the 'normal' route by playing in the academies/universities, then getting 'drafted' by a good second tier team or by a mid-table Top League squad. Only the really big talents go straight into one of the big five (Maethoru, Aminey, Schemerdrecht, Katashi, Miradela/Branvon), and usually those players have been playing their academy/university football not far from the facilities of those teams.

In that same age bracket, we don't have to put a lot of thought into putting together a much more impressive list of midfielders. Entatingun might have personality issues, what he can do with a football combined with his vision as a 19-year old is something else. Uozomi has gone the Yokota route - a defensive midfielder from the east, where a defender might be looked down upon but a midfielder with largely the same on-field to-do list can get some praise. Daraluthen, with the authority of a Tanques playmaker. Lamshuis, developing in relative obscurity in a not-so-great Schemerdrecht squad. The number of decent strikers is just insane. We've always had to scrape the bottom of the barrel for a halfway competent finisher, but decades of strikers being tested by the best defensive talents of the multiverse has apparently produced some solid options up front - who knew?

There, we have Archer, Aomelirea, but also Bonstirthinden - a rare Gehrennan on Finisterre's Miradela GD - who will still have make his floor a bit higher. Sawyer, for Straudum VV, a team that perfected the 5-5-0. But also Lemaigre - another player in the Quebecois development track. Sapping, who has already placed Arboren FC on his shoulders to keep them in the top flight at just 22 years of age. Hekkert, in Kelssek, and Carreiro, much more of a passing option in Branvon CD's XI.

So while it doesn't seem like Ko-oren will ever ditch its defensive mindset, implemented many head coaches ago, perfected by Juliasterinthen, and inherited and modernised by Davenport, it's clear that our game is becoming even more versatile with these options: we can (one day) play a possession game rather than a wait-and-counter system.

But what about the defence? Luckily we can pull from a bigger pool than just these 5 years, so on the whole we'll be fine. Looking beyond this group: Etouille's Lignanier has some of the makings of a tough defender, as does Delsarte, Wigram, Stagg, Ferreiro... the promise is there, but the number of creative all-rounder is just higher than the number of prospective defenders now, for what that's worth - at least 5 years away from any of these players' debuts in the Top League.

Manager: Kate DiMarini. Originally from Baker Park and an assistant to the national team there, she then took over at Trebuchet Cham for several seasons, leading them to the Champions' League group stage before she took this job. Named interim manager halfway through WC87 qualifiers, and steadied the course, as Zwangzug qualified to the proper after a rocky start, now full-time.

Thanks to Ko-oren for the three-trait summary approach.

Goalkeepers:
1. Helen Pimbura (Canbix Muses) (f) (first tournament: WC88 Q) "snakelike," efficient, crowd-pleaser

Numbers 1-11 are the most likely starting eleven, but do whatever.

For this tournament, all home games are played at the Eagles' Club facility in Forbridge.

We have a wiki page where I am slowly migrating information about the team. (Subpage with player details)

Colors: White with black stripes. Or black with white stripes. We go for the basics.

Zwangzug officially have no nickname, but are increasingly likely to respond to "Zebras" from other teams' fans (this is the official name of their baseball national team).

If RPing first, please feel free to name goalscorers, injure, and distribute cards to my players at will! You can also godmod events, though I'd appreciate advance warning if you want to take narrative liberties that I couldn't just as easily do to your team (due to being, e.g., an MT, mostly-human country). Put another way, metaphorical "godmodding" is welcome if clever, but I'd avoid the literal sense. Also, do not cause lasting harm in my country and/or to my citizens without contacting me first.

THE HERALD
FOURTEEN NEW CORMORANTS TO EARN SPURS AT EC PROVING GROUNDS
Erik Waldemar Football Correspondent

As expected, Nephara manager Elaine Koeller has maintained the modern policy of calling up a fresh squad for the Eagles Cup, though a number of surprising names are set to represent the Cormorants for the first time in a selection that appears to prioritise short- and medium-term success.

After a very clear Golden Age that earned Nephara three consecutive Cope Rushmori intertwined with three consecutive World Cup finals, the Cormorants' perfomances dropped off badly, culminating in a group stage exit at the most recent finals. Elaine Koeller's remit is to oversee an immediate turnaround, with an improved performance at the CR having been a step in the right direction.

It is little surprise that many of the EC select are players in their mid-20s who would be easily capable of stepping up to the next World Cup squad, should they hit the ground running, as Koeller has resisted the urge to call up younger talents like Felixe Vetiver or Madita Brewer, leaving them with the youth squad for the time being. While this policy plays well for the most part, some fear that conservatism in opting for youth may result in Nephara losing out on players. At youth level, Martin Pearce, Tess Miller and Luka Polichev have all opted to represent different nations, and a number of other players in the recent catchment - such as Tanith Xu, Danilo Sevaljevic, Pahali Kama and even Brewer herself - are all eligible to represent other nations.

Tamara Ulmer is one name that was unknown to most casual fans in the country, having been a solid Zenith-level midfielder for a relegation-battling Crisisbless United before hitting her stride in the Confederacy, becoming - along with similar new-cap Fuchsia Longstreet - the first Nepharan player capped from those shores. Ulmer has a similar skillset to the diligent, efficient and technical Renate March, who has proven herself an early Koeller favourite, and might well kick on to the main side. Muscular striker Davor Kurtishi is another more experienced name who may play a part next year, a strong all-rounder who finally hit his goalscoring stride after moving to Corvistone at the start of the season.

However, there is also plenty of excitement in some of the younger players Koeller has called up. The goalkeepers Strand and Sebring are expected to fight over starts, having made immensely promising beginnings to their career. Constantine and Copperhead are, like Sebring, key parts of Crisisbless' defence, and Kestrel Anharbour is set to join them next season. A direct, goalscoring winger with lightning pace, Anharbour could enliven Nephara's sometimes-staid attack.

Two of the more intriguing figures will be Sonya Belltower and Tasha Sauber, both having been implicated in Sabrefell Athletic's worst season in decades. Belltower had been tipped to leave the Rams before locking herself into a fat new contract, but stagnated last year, while Sauber - once considered a certainty for Nephara's midfield, but having struggled to perform in the emerald even when in good club form - is coming off a poor year. At 25 and 24, this somehow already feels like a last chance for both.

Since the Eagles Cup revived, and Nephara won at the first attempt, the Cormorants have yet to taste success at a tournament that concentrates the multiverse's strongest sides. Victory would be a serious statement of intent for the Cormorants, who have earned more major silverware than any side in history, and would have immense implications on the selection in the year to come.

THE BILLBOARD GAZETTE

EAGLE'S CUPS

Renowned Chartistani cup manufacturer celebrating Eagle's Cup with Eagle's Cups

The Billboard Cup Company, makers of the famed Chartistani cups that serve as a prominent souvenir from the country for tourists, has announced a line of "Eagle's Cups" to commemorate Chartistan participating in the Eagle's Cup. These special cups, of which 50 will be made for each nation participating, have gone up for auction on Chartistani online platform ChartBid. The cups, which are a standard coffee cup size, have started bidding at 10 Charts, with a portion of the proceeds going to grassroots development within Chartistan, or whatever the hell that means.

The tradition of Chartistani cups as a souvenir item dates back decades, and ironically enough the Billboard Cup Company has been on top of the souvenir cup charts ever since its founding. The company, which manufactures cups in all shapes and sizes, positions itself with a sort of "Cup dipolomacy", inviting all tourists who come to Chartistan to buy one of their souvenir cups - They made special cups for Chartistani football teams too, especially during DTM's IFCF CL qualifying run a few cycles ago. This is far from extraordinary from them. What is extraordinary is the scale.

"I think this is the time where we make our name that well known as a cup manufacturer," said Cuppy McCupface, the mascot of the Billboard Cup Company and a literal talking cup. "Any fan of the Eagle's Cup teams can have our cups and drink out of them, and yes that includes the Relics teams!" The cups feature ornate designs of the nation flags of each team, a unique quality to these special cups that aren't seen on other cups, making them hot collectors items.

It is to be seen how much these cups go for, but bidding will last until the Eagle's Cup Final.

MANAGEMENT STAFF

MG ImageSandra Sybill | Age: 43 | Height: 5 ft 11 in | Player Caps: 112 Player Goals: 16 | Debut Cycle: 90
Active from WC 74 to WC 81, Sandra Sybill had the finesse and the speed to be a part of the Anomalies to a tune of 112 caps and 16 goals while also being part of a Real Azuris squad in Cosumar that absolutely terrorized the international stage. Sybill's calling card was quickness and quality shooting with the cleverness that came with experience. Then, she stayed with Real Azuris to be a part of their coaching staff as a midfielder coach. After the dissolution of the Harlighet Ligen, many wondered what Sybill would do next. After running camps for multiple teams on many a offseason, Sybill got her certification and then made herself available for any jobs to follow. This is a huge step for her - the fact that her very first managing role is of the Anomalies - but she knows the pressure, she knows the field, and most of all, she knows what it's like to be part of the Anomalies. She didn't lead them to the World Cup, but the Cup of Harmony title isn't nothing.

AMG ImageRachel Hellion | Age: 42 | Height: 6 ft 6 in | Player Caps: 162 Player Goals: 24 | Debut Cycle: 90
Part of the WC squad from WC 73 through WC 81, Rachel Hellion was the set piece artist of the squad, taking almost every corner kick and free kick while being a part of the Anomalies to a tune of 162 caps and 24 goals. (The 162 caps is third all-time behind Keira Andisori and Luuk Aart). At the club level, she was part of a Lammerton squad that was once the club of the Schottic Premier League. After her playing career, Hellion tried her hand at being a physical therapist before getting her certification. She was being actively scouted by several Red League teams (Chromatik, Anomalies, Myana, to name a few) before Sandra Sybill asked her to come along for this massive undertaking.

PHY ImageZoe "Z" Benne | Age 41 | Debut Cycle: 80
Once a heartthrob, Zoe Benne is married to former Chromatik superstar and now White Mountain club manager Erika Morningstar. Zoe has been a constant for eleven cycles now, and has had to treat everything from sprained ankles to serious injuries after the bus sabotage last cycle. She remains a great asset.

SMC ImageShelby Arling | Age: 26 | Debut Cycle: 87
With new management in place, the presence of Arling as the Social Media Coordinator will be very important. All questions go through her, and she takes away any and all distractions.

The Commonwealth of Baker Park National Team will mark their third Eagles Cup invitation with a new badge, a throwback uniform and a chance to inaugurate the nation's newest stadium.

As a final sendoff for the remaining holdovers from Baker Park's first ever trophy--the Under-18 SWC 5 in Abahnfleft--AOCAF 66 was about as good a reward, and bookending triumph, as the retiring players could've imagined. Jabal Ahkdar City will join Busukuma as famous days in the history of the BPNT, but the current Eagles Cup will be the kick-off to an entirely different set of circumstances than the Third Place finish in the Cocoa-bo Challenge Trophy was.

Manager Jennifer Prescott will get a good look at another group of potential squad members after using the previous EC as a dress rehearsal for World Cup 90 in lieu of qualifiers; she brings what would be considered a skeleton squad under most circumstances, as only 20 players were selected.
She hopes to avoid the pratfall that BP took the last time they were the reigning Atlantian Oceania champions, with five embarrassing losses and a single draw.
Assistant Manager Darren Kirby and Goalkeeping Coach Elaine King were given well-deserved sabbaticals after bring the AOCAF Cup back to Birkenfeld, so Tony Weiss will be Prescott's number 2 and Rich Gabriel (who also was on the regional coaching staff) will join the gaffer and Hailey Reinhart-Zavaros as the braintrust.

Featured Players:
Anna Porter--M, 30yo, Aries Chariots (NPH)/caps: 56 (37) 17 goals
Porter would certainly have been in the regional squad had she come to a final decision on her international career earlier, but she'll get a bit of spotlight to herself in this team. The all-time leader in caps earned as a substitute, 'Anna-where" (her 'official' NT nickname bestowed by JC Bartok) is one of the most versatile midfielders that has ever worn the Gold & Black; she's started on both the left and right wings and both sides in the center of midfield, and has demonstrated the vast array of skills that she's picked up--first alongside fellow NT stalwart Nikki Stone at Riverside City Ladies, then in Nephara in the unforgiving Zenith (previously the Nepharim Premiership).

Max Rizzo--M, 27yo, Bombarralense (AUD)/caps: 54 (2) 7 goals
The omission of both Rizzo and Travis Grimaldi from the World Cup 90 squad was the most prominent storyline ahead of the last few friendlies before the Finals; Prescott explained the reasoning of the staff and assured both that they were still important in the NT pool. Grimaldi put in stellar performances in Jabal Akhdar and now Rizzo begins his redemption tour. Expect that he'll get the start in every match unless he's hurt.

Hayley Gibson--F, 27yo, Grande Mountain (CDG)/caps: 35 (16) 13 goals
This is really the first time in her NT career that Gibson is the clear cut #1 female striker, and it will be her first outing since making a CBP$8 million move to Cassadaigua. She'll have two fundamentally different players alongside (Cassel & Garvey) but she can play to the strengths of both and show that mainly playing out of position on the NT has made her overall game better (which puts her in excellent company based on recent history).

Image
The BBP National Stadium was unavailable for the fixtures in the Cup of Champions, so the Eagles Cup will be the official opening event at the CONAGCO Stadium in Shirley. Costing CBP$112 million, the facility is Baker Park's newest state of the art sports & entertainment complex. The University of St Leon football team, the Shirley Dragons of the PFD and Shirley Metros & Metros Ladies of the National League's Championship & WNL respectively will share 36,000 ground, ending over 100 years of gridiron and soccer being played at President's Park.
Commonwealth Mining Corporation's subsidiary Consolidated Natural Gas Company is the title sponsor and they, along with the future tenants, welcome the public from the Commonwealth and across the multiverse to Shirley and the stadium.

The replica il bombi (the bumblebees) kits that were worn for Baker Park's first ever World Cup Finals match against (ironically) the current World Champion The Holy Empire will be the primary choice, and the famous "Ghost Whites" will round out the nostalgia theme as the alternate choice

THE TUMBRAN NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM
The Black Eagles

Image

IMPORTANT OOC NOTE: For all intents and purposes, this Tumbra that began contesting in WCQ87 is an entirely new nation. They have no recollection of their earlier exploits from WC70-80, because that simply didn't exist for this Tumbra. Any and all similarities to the nation of the similar name can and should be construed as glitches in the Multiverse. You may, however, make muted references to "having done this before" or something. For a detailed explanation of how this came to be, read these RPs.

The Tumbran National Football Team is Tumbra's main representative in all association football competitions for national associations. Making its debut at the 87th World Cup Qualifiers, the team currently ranks 12th in the world. The team is controlled by the Tumbran Football Federation, which is also the governing body of football in Tumbra. Also known as the Black Eagles, or affectionately the Eagles, the team competes in the World Cup and its related competitions. The team also participates in the Campionato Esportiva, also sends teams to the Di Bradini Cup for Under-21s, and the Under-18 World Cup. The team have won the 51st edition of the former tournament and the 13th edition of the latter tournament; which has placed a lot of faith in the youth. With a loyal travelling contingent of supporters known as the Black Army, the Tumbran national team's support will be on display throughout this tournament, with lots of tifos and loud cheers expected throughout matches.

A third-placed finish at the previous Eagles' Cup meant that the team were invited back for another shot at the title; and this time, eager to secure another piece of silverware, Yuan Zilai has stepped in to try and guide the team to the top; and hopefully gain permanent membership in the hallowed Club. There are also rumblings of where the new stadium will go; and several plans have already surfaced.

First, though, they'll need to win the damn thing.

The Manager

Yuan, 60, managed the Yuezhou Dragons in their debut cycle in the World Cup, finishing a miraculous third as a ninth seed, beating countries like Northwest Kalactin and Eraman — before bringing Yuezhou to the quarterfinals of the Copa Rushmori 36. A difficult start to the World Cup 87 cycle saw him lose his job, however. Slated to take on the job at AC Valanari, visa issues meant he was never able to take on the job — and was a free agent until the approach from the national team to replace the recently-departed Marco Hemmings. Prior to his foray in international football, he also served as a coach for WNS Nangang. Since joining the Tumbran national football team, he has brought it to great success; qualifying for the World Cup in both cycles he's been with the country now, reaching the Quarter-Finals on the latest occasion; and a regional title, to boot.

Touted as a defensive manager, Yuan chose to set the Dragons up with five defenders during his time with them; but has already indicated his preference for playing with four at the back in Tumbra. Utilising an aggressive midfield press, the Black Eagles fall into a 5-4-1 in defence, with the defensive midfielder dropping back to provide an extra man in defence. With the ball, it's fast, one-touch counterattacking; constant running is the name of the game here.

Players from 1-11 can safely be assumed to be starters, but pre-match XIs will be posted before every cutoff. Please check my RPs for pre-match lineups. If none are posted, feel free to pick and choose from this side.

Tumbra will name eleven starters and twelve names on the bench, with up to three substitutes. In the unlikely event that they make it to extra time, a fourth substitute will be taken. Tumbra will not play for penalties and will try as often as possible to finish a match in ninety or a hundred and twenty minutes.

Team Cassadaigua- Eagles Cup 13

Coach- Brittany Byers (55)

Brittany, who has been the regular World Cup manager since #88, has not always managed the Copa Rushmori side. That was the same for her predecessor, Stephanie Sweeny, as well, allowing Brittany to actually get experience with the senior team in this tournament well before World Cup 88. The former defender was also the captain of our World Cup 78 and 79 teams.

Assistant- Hannah Shanley (Starksville United) (44)
Starting defender from World Cups 80-83, and then served as a regular substitute in World Cup 84. Has served in this role since World Cup 85, and that includes while she was still active as a player for a little while.

Starters in Green
Subs in Blue
Reserves in Red

Goalkeepers:
#31- Cynthia Kerr (28) (Victoriaville South End)- Starter WC 90 & Cr 40, Sub CR 38 & 39, Reserve WC 89, CR 37, Starter DBC 49
#30- Katie Schnapper (31) (Concord Heights Suburban)- Starter CR 38 & 39, Sub WC 88, 89 & 90, CR 36, 37 & 40, Starter DBC 48
#20- Stacie Thornton (23) (New Lakeland Soccer Club)- Reserve WC 90 & Cr 40, Sub DBC 51

The complete threesome from the Copa Rushmori will be back for the Eagles Cup, and this should not be much of a surprise. Arguably, fans would like to see Stacie Thornton progressing more, but she has not shown that she is better than the top two at home, so the way they are ordered here will continue to be the case. Expect Kerr to start each game as long as she is healthy.

Defenders:
#24- Sarah Bayne (28) (Brattleboro Westside)- Starter DBC 49, CR 37-39; Sub WC 89 & 90, Reserve WC 88
#21- Shannon McCausland (26) (Winchester City)- Starter CR 39, Reserve CR 38, WC 89; Sub WC 90
#32- Tara Keane (27) (Victoriaville City)- Sub DBC 49 & CR 39, Reserve CR 37-38, WC 89 & 90
#6- Caitlyn Kaleta (29) (Brattleboro FC)- Starter WC 88-90, DBC 49 & CR 37-40

#28- Peyton Miller (24) (Rutland FC)- Starter DBC 51, CR 39; Reserve WC 90
#4- Brianna Ward (24) (Victoriaville South End)- Starter CR 40, Sub CR 39, Starter DBC 51

#3- Madison Rutland (23) (Starksville Coastal)- Starter CR 40, DBC 51 & 52 (Captain of 52)
#2- Amber Hogan (22) (Brattleboro FC)- Starter CR 40, DBC 52, Reserve DBC 51

The defense is a unit in flux, with three of our starters from World Cup 90 not expected to be back for World Cup 91. Coach Byers, knowing that, went to a young defense for the Copa Rushmori, but here is going back to the veterans that have been subs and reverses on the World Cup teams of late. Byers opted to keep the kit numbers the same for the World Cup veterans for now.

Midfielders:
#9- Morgan Rosenblatt (29) (AFC Treson, Nephara)- Starter WC 87-90. DBC 48 & 49, CR 36-39 (Team Captain)
#8- Krystal Sherwin (24) (Brattleboro Westside)- Starter WC 90, DBC 51, CR 39
#36- Tara Kriedel (28) (Shearwater, Kelssek)- Sub WC 90, Reserve WC 88, 89 & CR 38, Starter DBC 49 & CR 39
#25- Kelsey Werth (22) (Carthage United)- Starter DBC 52, Sub DBC 51

#37- Sarah Giles (32) (Brattleboro Westside)- Sub WC 90, Reserve WC 86-89; Starter DBC 47, Sub CR 36 & 39, Reserve CR 35 & 38
#38- Emily Doran (23) (North Granby)- Reserve CR 39, Sub DBC 51

#39- Kaylee Carraway (25) (Victoriaville South End)- Reserve WC 90
#44- Lori Garland (23)- Starter DBC 51 & 52

There are no changes here from the Copa Rushmori, but in general it is a group that does not have a lot of experience playing together with regularity. Therefore, coach Byers feels the Eagles Cup provides a great chance before World Cup 91 to get a more valuable minutes together.

Forwards:
#12- Jenna Frontiera (28) (Brattleboro FC)- Starter WC 88 & 89, CR 38 & 39; Sub DBC 49, Reserve CR 37
#23- Bayley Stanton (28) (Concord Heights City)- Reserve WC 88 & 89, CR 36 & 37, Sub CR 39 & 40, Starter DBC 47 & CR 38

#19- Chloe Anderson (21) (Montreal Koreana, Quebec)- Starter CR 40, Sub WC 90, Starter DBC 51
#26- Rachel Boldin (21) (Victoriaville South End)- Starter CR 40, Sub WC 90, Starter DBC 51

#27- Madison McClain (34) (Jinja City, Banija)- Starter WC 86 & 87; CR 34, 35, 37 & 39, Sub WC 84, 85, 88, 89 & 90, CR 38 & 40
#34- Steffie Garrett (27) (Brattleboro Westside)- Sub DBC 49, Reserve CR 40

Jenna Frontiera, the top Cassadagan scorer in the CSL, opted out of the Copa Rushmori, and that led to the decision of Byers to start each of Anderson and Boldin, the young phenoms. That proved to be an excellent decision. Stanton got significant playing time in a sub role, but now in the Eagles Cup, we see Frontiera back, so again Byers wants Frontiera and Stanton to work together.

WELCOME TO CHROMATIKA

Cultural Notes: While visiting Chromatika, please observe the following:

Transportation: Chromatik highways aren't very wide - two lanes per side at most. There is a very expansive railroad system that was originally used for troop movement, but is has been refitted to serve the everyday citizen. A subway system and a bus system in the bigger cities have also been established. Franscesca Larriet-Cortes International Airport is also not very big, only serving regional flights. For the tournament, the nation will be accepting team planes to land, but it'd be best if you flew to Quebec City, Cathair, Jhanna, or Villeneuve first. Ferries run from the Islands of Myana and Urrhed to and from the main island on the hour.

Ticketing and Visas: For matches featuring the Chromatik National Team, the distribution is as follows: 45% for Chromatika, 30% for the visiting team, 20% to people from other nations, and the remaining 5% to be included with any of the tickets that aren’t sold by the predetermined point in time. Any press and dignitaries’ tickets will be counted among the residual 5%.

Also of note: ticket scalping (buying and selling tickets in front of the stadium to would-be buyers) is illegal in Chromatika. If you want to get a ticket in that fashion, make sure you are at least a mile away from the stadium, or don’t get caught. Otherwise, you will be fined and your ticket will be confiscated.

Laws: Chromatik legal code is a bit on the stricter side. The Chromatik Police, known as the CPD, are a well-trained, swift response group with a sizable presence. Chromatka does tend to side more on prevention than reaction. For an enjoyable stay, please note the following laws that visitors should be aware of:

  • The legal age of purchasing and possession of liquor and tobacco is 18. Stores are required to card anyone that appears to be less than 25 years of age.
  • The legal age of purchasing cannabis and other marijuana related products is also 18, and the limit of purchasing cannabis without a medical prescription is two grams per visit.
  • The importing of any alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, or other drugs is illegal without declaration. With declaration, up to a liter of alcohol, two cartons of cigarettes, and three grams of cannabis can be brought in.
  • Having multiple cars on a lane meant for one car is a finable offense, and the offending drivers’ licenses can be revoked.
  • Jaywalking is a serious offense in Chromatika. If cited three times, the offender can face serious fines and jail time should they continue to offend. Don’t do it!
  • As previously stated, ticket scalping is a finable offense that can lead to the ticket being confiscated.
  • Foreign visitors cannot bring firearms or any kind of weapons into the country without a specific license and accompanying paperwork. Even then, the weapon must be disassembled and ammunition shipped separatedly.
  • Foreign visitors are not allowed to bring more than 10,000 NSD or 25,000 NMS in cash into the country without proper declaration and accompanying paperwork.
  • For any other questions about legal matters, please call 99 1133-4455, the Chromatik Legal Hotline, or visit chromatiklaws.en.cr.

Currency: The currency of Chromatika is the National Mark. the exchange rate is at a respectful 2.5 Chromatik National Mark per 1 NS Dollar. Cost of living is rather low in Chromatika, as the government provides most things through taxes. A bottle of water costs 1 NMS, a good meal about 7, and a new car around 24,000. Please come to Chromatika with all your currency changed to NSD, as we don't provide exchange services from other currencies.

Climate: Chromatika is a rather cold nation, with the average temperature being 65 F in the summer and down to 11 F in the winter. The northern parts tend to be colder, while Myana and Urrhed tend to be a bit warmer. There is a temperate jungle in Eyrods where the temperature can spike up a bit more. It doesn't rain much, but snows a fair bit; winds don't gust that much, either. Climate-wise, it's a rather cold, boring, land. The World Cup Proper will take place during the summer months, so expect temperatures to be in the mid to high sixties with mostly cloudy weather, except in the Myana/Urrhed Islands, where it can get to the lower seventies.

Language: The official languages of Chromatika are English, Korean, French, Mandarin, and Russian. The most commonly used one in English. Depending on where you visit, you can hear one of the other being spoken interchangeably. Most Chromatik peoples know at least three of the five languages, with one of them being English. Pockets of other language speakers do exist, but are more rare.

Cuisine: Chromatik food is usually spicy, filling, and served warm. There are a few cold dishes, but as the country itself is very cool/cold, Chromatiks prefer hot dishes. Korean, French, Chinese, and Eastern European cuisines are all available for consumption.

Hosting Venue: Capitalizt Dome, Chromia, Capital District (Cap. 144,000) - The crowning jewel of Chromatika, and the national stadium where international matches are usually held. It's your typical big-team stadium, home of the Chromatik Capitalizt. It is one of the few stadiums that are only used for football matches. The national collegiate finals and high school finals are held here, too.

Souvenirs: Popular souvenirs include eco-friendly purses and handbags, collectible model figurines throughout each major city in the country, and a dedicated postcard delivery service that will go anywhere in the multiverse.

The Pemecutan national football team (Pemecutan Malay: Tim Nasional Sepakbola Pemecutan) represents Pemecutan in international football competition. From its establishment the team is always comprises of all men players. It is governed by Pemecutan Football Association, the governing body of football in Pemecutan. It has never win any major international competition.

The team compete for the first time internationally at 3rd Melayu Archipelago Cup which was held in Eraman. They ended up finished 4th, defeated by Ziwana in third place final. Their participation in World Cup Cycle started at Baptism of Fire 76 where they ended in the Group Stage. They were participated in fifth World Cup Qualification with the latest edition become their most successful campaign. Pemecutan also become the first Melayu Archipelago country to advance to main World Cup competition.

History

Pemecutan national football team can not be separated from the establishment of the association itself, Pemecutan Football Association or (PFA). Established in 1969, PFA was a result or merging two football associations which was build up the country, Pemecutan. They are Giri Football Association (GFA) and Kanginan Association of Football (KAF). But the official of this new association was deemed unfair. From the beginning of its merging, Kanginan clubs and players were left behind. This was strengthen by the statement made by the then President of PFA which said Kanginan clubs and players being inferior than that of Giri and also PFA was only recognized the former GFA sanctioned competition as the main domestic league of Pemecutan at the time.

As the association was focusing on rebuilding their domestic features at that time, then the international competition and matches was never been held. In 1978, PFA was scheduling an international friendly matches against several countries, Soracana Islands, Toluiwa and Cakranegara. But all of the matches were canceled for various reasons. The officials then back to focusing on its domestic situation especially after 1982 Football Riot. The accident happen during Inter Nusa Cup, between Pesub Ubung, the champion of PFA Eka League at the time and Parsewi Mengwi, the champion of Surya Utama League at the time which was won by Parsewi Mengwi. For not being able to admit the loss, Pesub Ubung fans raging a riot throughout the city of Ubung making the city transportation system collapsed. The situation also makes Kanginan clubs become more alienated by the Giri Island clubs. The second big riot happens in 1996 in Canggu, after Parsenggu Canggu defeats Pescam Campuhan in Inter Nusa Cup which resulted in the discontinued of Inter Nusa Cup.

The situation between these two regions become less severe in early 2000, as more matches were held between clubs from Giri and Kanginan. In 2003, a local competition named Puri Cup was established which competed between states. The competition was short life. The national team was established for the first time in 2019 ahead of the country's entry into 3rd Melayu Archipelago Cup where they were surprisingly finished as 4th placer. The country then focusing to build up its regional image and they success to do that after repeatedly reached semifinal. But their lack of luck to advance beyond semifinal makes them being dubbed as the Pemecutan Cursed. Their first international entry was at 48th Di Bradini Cup where the country tested their U-21 team for the first time. Unfortunately, they were ended up in the Group Stage. The senior team then entered in 73rd Baptism of Fire where they were also ended in Group Stage. They were continue their campaign to 86th World Cup. In their first World Cup Qualifying, they were being smashed. They were only won 2 matches and ended at the bottom of their Group.

On their next World Cup campaign, they were getting better and better. And their latest entry, the 90th World Cup, they success to reached final and defeated by The Holy Empire to become the Runner-up in their second main World Cup. In the regional stage, their luck is not getting better. They were success to reached final in 2 occasion but they were always failed to lifted the trophy.

Nickname

During their earlier appearance, the team was coined as The Tridatu Team. The naming is based on the country's tricolor flag name. The name is gradually change after their XIV Summer Olympics appearance. The local media then use the name Si Jalak Putih or The White Myna to refer to the national team. The name then use widely and become the official nickname of the team.

Myna bird or Giri Myna is an endemic bird of the country that can only be found in Giri Island and its nearby islands. It is a protected animal and regard as the national animal of Pemecutan. The logo of Pemecutan Football Association is also using this bird image. While the Tridatu name have been drop off to refer to the team, but it is then adopted by their fans. Kits

The previous team jersey
The national team kit design has only change once. In their first international appearance, the team using black as the kit based color. This jersey was made by a local apparel company, Gringsing. The color use for the kit is inspired by Tridatu color, which is the national color of Pemecutan. It is believe that the color can give luck and protection for the user. After being stuck as semifinalist in regional competition, they decided to change the kit as a refreshment.

Agung&Arya Fashion was contacted by PFA officials to design the new kit for the national team. It is a huge challenge for the fashion house as they are never involve in sportswear before. The design they come up with is a simple black-white vertical stripes with white as the background color. They are also introducing the second jersey which use red as the basic color in also another stripes design. The third design that they made are for the goalkeeper. This time they use the combination of red and black.

Home Stadium

Pemecutan usually play their home matches at Tegeh Kori National Stadium located within the Tegeh Kori Sports Complex, Tegeh Kori District, Pemecutan Puri. The stadium is named after the first native kingdom that rise from the occupation of Sripala Kingdom. A New Journey!

HUElavia enters the Eagle's Cup for the 1st Time with a New Coach with plenty of optimism.

XI vs Ko-oren:
1 Lettmann, 4 Vargas, 2 Lavezzi, 3 Higashi, 5 Mitarte, 6 Font, 8 Brousseau, 10 Navarro-Hamada, 11 Chanca, 7 Honda (C), 9 Nascimento
Home Uniform will be worn.
Match to be played at Estadio Capital (90,000), Curumba, HUElavia

XI at Cassadaigua:
1 Lettmann, 4 Vargas, 2 Lavezzi, 3 Higashi, 5 Mitarte, 6 Font, 8 Brousseau, 10 Navarro-Hamada, 11 Chanca, 7 Honda (C), 9 Nascimento
Special Uniform will be worn.

For many years, HUElavia came close towards winning the IAC and earning their place in the Eagle's Cup. Defeat after defeat in the IAC Final made it seem that Los Amarillos/Os Amarelos would never break that glass ceiling. Fortunately enough, they finally did, after defeating Drawkland in a 4-3 penalty shootout, after a thrilling 4-4 draw in Estadio Nacional in Curumba. It was a momentous and historical moment for HUElavia, both in sport and country alike, as they finally lifted the IAC Trophy and were champions at long last. Shortly after the tournament, long-time head coach Leonardo Conavacio announced his retirement from coaching in order to live through retirement with his wife and four children, leaving the head coaching vacancy up for grabs. The HUElavian Football Association announced within a few days the appointment of Cristiano Aveiro Lima as the new head coach, being the all-time goal scorer for Real Curumba and HUElavia alike.

The Eagle's Cup today is Aveiro's first genuine trial for his coaching expertise, having been the manager of the U18 team for many years. Now, Coach Aveiro is expected to help the team put up a fight against some of the most difficult teams in the multiverse. HUElavia's opponents for the first Group Stage are as follows: Cassadaigua, Ko-oren, and Eraman. In general, HUElavia have a difficult group, but such is expected when it is the best of the best in the multiverse appearing in this competition. The opening game for HUElavia will be against Ko-oren, which will be played at Estadio Capital (90,000) in Curumba, where many Ko-oren supporters are expected to have a section to them, while HUElavians will flock to the stadium to cheer on the team in yet another competition.

Coach Aveiro was quoted saying "There is a lot of potential in this roster. We have a nice mix of veterans and novices, where they are motivated to bring success to themselves and the team. These players grew close with one another during last year's IAC, and we look to use that momentum and motivation to make a name for ourselves in this tournament. We've always been known as a 'showtime' team, having plenty of high scoring games and not being pushovers to big teams. We look to do the same once again, and get victories throughout the competition. I believe and trust in these players and we look forward to make something special and memorable for the millions of HUElavians who will be supporting us."

While it may be a treacherous path ahead for the team, HUElavia has never been a team that feels daunted against the level of opponent they've faced off against. This team has much of the attention and support of millions of HUElavians and all we can do is look forward to this opening match. Estadio Capital looks to become a very loud and rambunctious place, where fans want to make it an intimidating place for whomever visits their soil. Here's to what can be a historic and great game.

FORCA HUELAVIA! VAMOS HUELAVIA! GO HUELAVIA!

Manager
Didrik Gjedrem
Age: 57
The ebb and flow of success and failure continues on around Didrik and a very impressive showing in the World Cup and then a semifinal showing in the AOCAF has seen the former Raynor City United manager be granted another cycle in charge of the Marauders. The time feels like now for the Marauders to try and grab another title in the World Cup, the Eagle's Cup looking to be a good stepping stone towards getting the squad ready for the qualifying campaign.

Assistant Manager
Kasper Volheim
Age: 43
After a successful trial run with the recently reinstated U21 national team, Volheim was appointed the assistant manager for the senior team as well with the number of youth players that are in the team and pool at large. Having shown to have the capabilities of managing them at Raynor City United's youth team and being a good go between as an assistant in the Di Bradini Cup, Volheim looks to keep up the success rate at the senior level and perhaps be that missing piece to get the team to winning a trophy.

Keeper

1 Isak Helland, Aleiusia Capital Image
Age - 31
Sex - M
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 158 lbs
After earning a big money transfer from Rolalas, Helland has settled in nicely at Aleiusia and is getting starts in important games, making the IFCF competitions and earning their way to the number one shirt for at least the Eagles Cup.

Defenders

4 Claudia Moench, Raynor City United
Age - 28
Sex - F
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 161 lbs
Moench was a late bloomer, though training behind Jager at United definitely paid off with the agile defender bulking up to compete in hard challenges and the speed to recover when she is caught out of position.

6 Armin Freihof, SW Stahlberg Image
Age - 26
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 159 lbs
Freihof is your typical Vanorian defender with a solid amount of pace but lacking a little bit of strength compared to their peers, though with a very good eye for the game leading to being in the right position more often than not.

2 Karoline Wellenbrink, Raynor City United
Age - 27
Sex - F
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 146 lbs
Karoline is an extremely talented fullback with crossing ability that would make some wingers blush, though she will be playing more central for the Marauders, yet you can probably expect her to naturally drift wide and get forward on sustained attacks.

Midfield

8 Daniella Åström, Hondo FC
Age: 24
Sex - F
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 152 lbs
Quietly has become a very talented winger while at Hondo, good season after good season with the owls and racking up assists lets her find her way into the starting team for this edition of the Eagles Cup.

7 Selim Estrada Barrientos, Raynor City United
Age - 23
Sex - M
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 162 lbs
Developed at United, this Bexar born midfielder is a natural box to box talent with stamina for days and the creativity of a playmaking dynamo that has the Rockers starting the midfielder despite their relative young age.

10 Marco Grunewald, Raynor City United
Age - 31
Sex - M
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 156 lbs
A United man from the beginning and has been decently trained and developed from a young age to be a dynamic attacking midfielder. Not the same sort of scoring threat that Laborious Hawk brings to the position, but he can still bang one from those late runs into the box and getting on the end of set pieces.

5 Götz Konstantin, Bastion Image
Age - 26
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 167 lbs
Having been groomed by the Eura league, Konstantin is a formidable ball winning midfielder with a good amount of toughness to his game and enough creativity to be an outlet from the back when called up.

3 Miriam Troegner, Kingsgrove Image
Age - 26
Sex - F
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 149 lbs
You do not survive the Brenecia league without adding a little bite to your game and that is what Miriam has done, even if her dribbling and crossing skill should have her in the attacking third and being a real thorn in the opponents defense.

Strikers

9 Elias Hammer, Lonngeylin Coast Image
Age - 27
Sex - M
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 162 lbs
An agile striker but a clear step down from either Palminger or Ludwig, however what he does have is a rocket for a shot, a bit fitting given his surname, something Elias has grown into as a bit of a joke with his teammates.

11 Hadi Lundström, Raynor City United
Age - 23
Sex - F
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 144 lbs
Lundström has all the skills needed to be an excellent striker, with good pace, a solid first touch, decent dribbling, and above average finishing capabilities, really coming into form with added playing time over the last few seasons with United having had to compete on several different fronts.

Team name: Græntfjall
Trigram: GRÆ [GRF when not available]
Demonym/adjective: Græntfjaller
Team nickname: Snow Wolves

Coach: Image Igrene Cantor
Assistant coach: Image Alexander Leonardsson

Igrene Cantor took Græntfjall to the World Cup, twice, but the Snow Wolves’ luck hasn’t improved at the Copa, and in fact trended downwards: after four successive Round of 16 exits, they failed to even make the knockouts in Hispinas. After the awful showing in the World Cup finals, Cantor has a (rather unjustified) case of the “what have you done for me lately” going on, and will need a good performance here to retain the reins for WC91 qualifying (if she even wants them). Bríana Sigurbjarnsdóttir proved a pretty disastrous appointment so she’s gone, replaced by a first major coaching appointment for former NT goalkeeper Alexander Leonardsson. At this stage fairly inexperienced, he’s looking to gain some watching Cantor work, but his appointment does mean that the idea of replacing her with a native manager is probably off the table for now.

Squad: A 23-person squad has been named for the tournament. Generally those numbered 1-11 will be starters, except that Tinni will start instead of Jade.
  • Names. -son names are men, -dóttir names women, -bur names gender-neutral (they/them/their). Players without a patronymic surname are Kamdyr, members of a minority nomadic community; all such players are, at the moment, female. Græntfjallers are comfortable having their first name used instead of their surnames, though there’s no consistent standard on this.
  • Gender. The Græntfjaller Premier League is gender-mixed and it is seen as uncontroversial for men and women to play alongside each other. If you find female players immersion breaking, you have my permission to choose an all-male side from the squad but I ask that you do not include Ari in any such team.
  • Transfers. The financial status of football in Græntfjall is improving, and million+ NS$ contracts are increasingly common. But because the GPL isn’t especially strong, most NT players and hopefuls ply their trade abroad. I normally conduct transfers through the Transfer Window but if you have a desire to sign a player I may be open to arranging a transfer outside that; send a TG/DM. I am particularly open to such deals when linked to an ongoing RP story.
  • Style of play. In general, Græntfjaller players are athletic and have excellent whole-match fitness, disciplined, and not prone to violence or emotional outbursts. They are, however, not tremendously skilled. A particular type of footballer, nicknamed “BFG” (Big Fucking Græntfjaller), is associated with the country, normally playing in roles such as center back, defensive midfielder, or center forward. The new crop of, predominantly though not exclusively, female central midfielders somewhat eschew this stereotype and there have been growing attempts to get more skilful players into the lineup, most notably Sara Kristoffersdóttir.
  • Captaincy. Græntfjall did not traditionally appoint a designated captain, and instead had the starting XI elect a captain before each captain, but this tradition has largely been abandoned, Hjörleifur Reynarsson being named as the new captain and Emeli Vilbertsdóttir reverting to vice-captain. Should both be injured, suspended, or otherwise absent, they will default to an elective model, and if I have not specified a captain, you may pick should you wish.
  • Timing. In my timeline this occurs 2 years after the last CR and 1 year after the WC. It occurs after the GPL season and TW35; any players on foreign teams will be assumed to be given leave.
Goalkeepers

Goalkeepers
Cantor has demanded her goalkeepers develop skills to play it out from the back, and that – more than pure shot-stopping ability – has seemed to determine the #1 jersey.

1. Björnólfur Ernestisson (27) Image Yeaddin Owls (caps: 68, goals: 1)
Appearance: Six and a half feet of lanky excellence. Shorn head. Slightly craggy features, might have a bit of troll in him.
Personality: Enthusiastic, innocent, and ever so stupid.
Profile: Long groomed as the goalkeeper of the future, Björnólfur has become the regular #1. There’s no doubting his physical attibutes, but his communication with his back line isn’t always the best and there are occasional stinkers. Massive boot on clearances. Only Græntfjaller goalkeeper to have scored in international play, but his use as an extra BFG target at corners should be strictly limited to last minute elimination stakes scenarios. The most expensive goalkepeer in national history.

12. Gabríella Hárlaugsdóttir (28) Image Southrons-Errant (caps: 27)
Appearance: Tall for a Græntfjaller woman at 6’, with a strong lower body. Very pale skin and gray-blue eyes; very long black hair, usually worn behind a colored headband.
Personality: Dedicated to her training regime, and takes no shit from anyone. Not the easiest to get along with.
Profile: As a pure shot-stopper, Gabríella has proven herself the #1 option, but she’s missing Björnólfur’s physical presence in goal, and doesn’t seem as comfortable playing it out from the back.

23. Emmely Aaronsdóttir (26) Image Folte uncapped
Appearance: Tall and lanky. Red hair, heavily freckled pale skin, cold blue eyes. Usually wears pigtails. A bit of an overbite.
Personality: Hard working and determined, Emmely has been bouncing around the domestic leagues for a long time, but only recently come into NT contention. She’s a bit humorless and a stickler for discipline.
Profile: A fan favorite for her acrobatic saves and rugged determination, and her emotional distress at every goal scored against her. For all that she’s very much in the old-fashioned mold, more comfortable hoofing the ball upfield or unleashing a discus-like throw than playing the ball at her feet.

Defenders
Center back is traditionally the team’s strongest position; the full backs have been the key players in Igrene’s system, asked to fill defensive duties and bring the ball up as attacking wing-backs, with a defensive midfielder playing in front who can drop back to provide cover.

2. Elektra Lúthersdóttir (30) Image Yeaddin Owls (75, 1)
Appearance: Short (5’2”) and slim. Pixie-cut reddish-brown hair and dark brown eyes. Light freckles that come out in the sun.
Personality: Easy-going on off-days. A bundle of neuroses on match-days, culminating in what is now a well established tradition of vomiting moments before kick-off.
Profile: When fit, Elektra has been the undisputed best player at a position where Græntfjall has seen more turnover than most; unfortunately, she’s been beset by recurrent injury worries. They don’t seem to have robbed her of her pace, through she’s not quite as sturdy a tackler as she used to be. Occasionally chips in with a good corner kick as she is little threat in the air; for a full back, she is surprisingly poor at throw-ins. Married to Tom Ernestisson and back after a maternity leave absence, regaining her place immediately from the disappointing Michelle Matteosdóttir.

3. Emeli Vilbertsdóttir (32) Image Altendalur (134, 5)
Appearance: 5’3” with a wiry build. The moment she starts running around her pale complexion turns ruddy. Dark green eyes; naturally wavy brown hair that she straightens and wears in a tight ponytail.
Personality: Intelligent and compassionate. Hated her brief stint as captain and generally shirks the limelight. Enjoys playing chess and board games.
Profile: Emeli was been the most improved player under Cantor, where her increasing transformation into a genuine left wing-back has repeatedly opened up attacking options and allowed the midfielders to cheat infield. The team’s most rounded defender, good in all phases of the game. Indiscretions from CoH78 continue to haunt her and fans can occasionally be seen waving [non-sentient] kettles or irons. Don’t ask.

4. Hjörleifur Reynarsson (34) Image Steinaux (103, 12)
Appearance: 6’7” and built like a brick shithouse that has survived multiple kraken attacks. Short dark hair and a short beard. Not a handsome man but people tend not to point this out within range of his overlarge ears.
Personality: He is a true leader of men; he is an indefatigable warrior; he is a supreme athlete and a genuine offensive threat. He is also dumb as an especially dumb rock.
Profile: In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king and in Græntfjall, the land of BFGs, the center back with even passable footballing skills enjoys similar renown. Hjörleifur is not the best footballer in the world, but his above-average passing and confidence on the ball married to his outstanding size, fitness, leadership, and game knowledge, have led him to MVP honors in the GPL and the captain’s armband. Arguably past his best and showed signs of losing a step during the last WC. Could this be his last tournament?

5. Grímúlfur Gunnþórsson (27) Image Steinaux (18)
Appearance: A true BFG: tall, muscle bound, and with a physiognomy suggesting he can count the Ice Giants among his immediate ancestors. Short dark blonde hair.
Personality: A serious lad who works hard. Fairly conservative in his cultural and political outlook.
Profile: Having groomed as the (literal) next big thing, Grímúlfur has leapfrogged Mathias Kristersson and Fredrik Thorleifsson to the front of a very long queue of center backs. Yet to fully link up his physicality to footballing excellence (i.e. about as likely to head into his own goal as the opposition man, but wherever it’s aimed it’ll be an absolute bullet).

13. Jasmijn Spiderlair (24) Image Korsbach (12)
Appearance: Typical Kamdyr features: darker than Græntfjallers with dark, slightly slanted eyes, and long dark hair worn in a complex plait. Medium height, wiry build.
Personality: Intelligent, reserved, likes to speak second so she can get someone’s measure.
Profile: The first Kamdyr to ever represent Græntfjall in international football. She has played on loan with AC Olarria in Astograth. She’s an attacking left wing-back, prone to the odd defensive error, but with good skills on the ball and a powerful throw.

16. Alyssia Noahsdóttir (22) Image GT Molding (3)
Appearance: Strikingly snow-blonde, heavily freckled, wides purple-blue eyes. Medium height and slimmer build. Short sleeves reveal tattooed forearms.
Personality: As wide-eyed as she looks. Excitable and still trying to take it all in.
Profile: Alyssia returns to the squad after Michelle Matteosdóttir failed to impress. An attacking right-back who was one of the brighter spots of the Under-18 World Cup we don’t talk about, and a key component of the Di Bradini Cup that we very much do talk about.

17. Tom Ernestisson (29) Image Inland Peaks (70, 4)
Appearance: 6’3” and solidly built. Handsome in a windswept, square-jawed, Viking warrior sort of way. Shaggy brown hair and brown eyes. Thankfully, the moustache is gone!
Personality: Genial team player who gets on with everyone. He can almost write in joined up letters, which makes the rest of the BFG corps regard him as something of a dangerous intellectual.
Profile: Tom has been in and out of the side, somehow accumulating 50 caps and a goal in the Cup of Harmony final without ever nailing down a starting role; such is the life of that most ill-fated of players, the third best center-back in Græntfjall. Played right-back covering for his injured wife during the World Cup 89 finals and has also played defensive midfield. Good for an occasional monster free-kick. Married to Elektra Lúthersdóttir.

Midfielders
Cantor has largely eschewed the hack-and-slash defensive midfielders of old, and similarly specialist wingers have gone out of style: instead, the team has been at its best under her playing a fairly narrow midfield diamond of four central midfielders, with one in a holding role.

6. Jade Miansdóttir (30) Image Porter City (44, 4)
Appearance: Tall, angular, strong. Dark hair worn in a ponytail and streaked with premature gray that she embraces. With her cold gray-blue eyes, she’s a severe, though not unattractive, looking woman.
Personality: Calm, chill, and fond of a drink, Jade is pretty easy-going, but works hard in training.
Profile: Now the wrong side of 29, Jade will probably never be a regular first-team starter, but her career has had its moments. Happier playing in a deep-lying role which Igrene’s system doesn’t cater for, she’s a hard-working trier with a bit more skill than the average BFG holding midfielder, but as a tweener has never managed to leap ahead of the more physical players or compete with the quicker forward players.

7. Sara Kristoffersdóttir (26) Image Wirr Tsi (65, 10)
Appearance: 5’3” with a fairly stocky build. Long blonde hair, worn in a ponytail. Blue-eyed. Sleeve tattoo on her left arm.
Personality: Loud, boisterous, impossible, crude, trouble-making. If she weren’t good at football…
Profile: …but, she is. The debate about whether she’s worth the trouble she brings with her is over: she’s just too good to leave out of the team. One of the few national products to marry speed, skill and vision to aggression and determination. While she prefers a more solo attacking midfield role, she’s developed into a fine left-winger. Her maverick playmaking touch can get away from her at times, but she’ll run the field relentlessly wherever she’s deployed.

10. Kæja Finnvarðsdóttir (22) Image Altendalur (17, 3)
Appearance: Quite short and slender. Pixie-cut blonde hair and blue eyes; very pale. Cute as a button.
Personality: Kæja lacks the big personality she’ll need if she is to one day command the midfield; though a creative footballer, she’s a bit shy.
Profile: Generally regarded as the most promising youth prospect to have come through the ranks, Kæja is a creative central midfielder in Amanda’s style, with an excellent set-piece but concerns about her lack of size and confidence. Nonetheless, after leading the Snow Pups to a Di Bradini Cup title, she has emerged as the attacking lynchpin of the future.

11. Johanna Álvgeirsdóttir (28) Image Megabrantid (63, 15)
Appearance: 5’8”, somewhat slender. Blonde hair in a ponytail, blue eyes. Has developed a bit of a tan. Her left arm is heavily tattooed but she almost always wears long sleeves.
Personality: Introspective and self-doubting, Johanna might be the most complex woman in the squad. She pushes herself hard and sometimes she’s not the easiest to get along with; at other times, she celebrates as hard as anyone and cries her heart on a teammate’s shoulder.
Profile: Johanna has been a mercurial figure who divides opinion. When she’s in the starting lineup, there’s criticism that she’s not as creative as Sara or as physical as a typical BFG; when she’s not, everyone’s calling for her to get her place back (only then to repeat the same criticisms). With improved fitness and conditioning she became a regular starter but has not always held onto the job, despite outstanding domestic form. Fast and with a good free-kick; a bit injury-prone.

14. Lana Mensdóttir (29) Image Dí Maozöxê (54, 4)
Appearance: Short, slim, quick, mousey. Naturally dark hair she bleaches; perpetual eye shadow. Striking cheekbones. Occult tattoos on her lower back and wrist.
Personality: Cynical alt-girl who’s full of withering bitterness about capitalism, shortly before cashing her huge paycheck. A lot of fun when she’s drunk, which is often.
Profile: Lana was once a NT fixture but spent a few years in the wilderness as the team moved away from specialist wings. She’s back in the mix, but probably still more likely to see the field off the bench as an impact sub to provide a burst of pace than as a regular starter.

15. Kjárr Þorfinnsson (23) Image Korsbach (13)
Appearance: Tall, with shaggy dark blonde hair and a short beard. Soft brown eyes. Ruddy faced in hot and cold alike. Vaguely handsome, vaguely threatening. Knotted with muscle. Big dragon tattoos on chest, and runic tattoos down his back.
Personality: A bit dopey. Kjárr isn’t exactly a tactical mastermind but he’s very loyal, and also doubles up as a useful coat-stand as he doesn’t tend to notice people hanging coats, hats, small suitcases, etc. on him.
Profile: A fucking warhorse who’d run through a glass door for his teammates. No, Kjárr, stop, it’s a glass door! Sigh, someone get the bandages… A BFG-style box-to-box guy who’ll run himself ragged all game, putting in big defensive and attacking shifts alike. Which isn’t to say he’s totally unskilled on the ball, and he rips an absolute snorter of a goal every 10 games or so. But definitely better suited to a holding role behind someone more creative.

18. Tinni Grímólfursson (26) Image Avenida Leal (40, 2)
Appearance: Lumbering 6’2” who’s added muscle in recent seasons. Short dark blonde hair. Pretty severe ice-blue eyes.
Personality: The exotic places he calls home are total contrasts to his steady, stoic disposition. A courageous battler and a teammate who’d rather die than let someone down, even though Amanda told him it was just a vending machine and to let it go.
Profile: Tinni is increasingly emerging as the next big (fucking) thing, although his performances in blue-and-white have to date not matched his club showings. He offers a strong physical presence, but he’s not just a defensive bruiser: his huge right boot (he has no left whatsoever) made him a feared free-kick specialist in Tequilo. He’s now moved to Farfadillis. Has played in central and wide roles, but appears to be setting in replacing Álfar Ásvaldursson in a holding role.

19. Ari Hlynursbur (26) Image Ituraitz FC (20, 1)
Appearance: 5’4”, slim, with pale skin, short blonde hair, blue eyes. Generally dresses in neutral clothing when not playing.
Personality: Quiet and shy, though not unfriendly once they get to know people well. A bit more intelligent than the average footballer and enjoys spending their free time reading and listening to indie music.
Profile: Ari began their career as a central midfielder but lacked the physical size for it; their speed and accurate crossing made them a better fit for a wide role. Two-footed, they like to work cutting moves inside, but aren’t very comfortable shooting from range and tend to always look for one pass too many.

21. Amanda Guttisdóttir (30) Image Holdenberg City (140, 33)
Appearance: Short and fairly slight. Dark hair in a long ponytail. Keen dark eyes. Has a runic tattoo on her wrist.
Personality: Outgoing and friendly, intelligent and capable, one of the more balanced members of the squad. Has dealt with off-field issues with admirable aplomb.
Profile: Amanda started young, and has become the most capped player in national history. Yet her career has had its ups and downs: she struggled in a deep-lying role for which she wasn’t physically suited, seemed to thrive under Kang Guilin as an attacking midfielder, and has now had a more mixed time of it under Igrene, whom she likes personally, but whose approach doesn’t always suit her. She’s clearly being eclipsed by Sara as the team’s most talented playmaker. Always regarded as a system player, she’s still a good one, and has developed into a very dangerous free-kick specialist. She lost her starting role at the World Cup and now comes off the bench as an impact sub.

Forwards
Under Kang, the team tended to play a lone striker or a clear 9–10 division; Igrene has favored 2 out-and-out center forwards leading the way. Of those two, one has usually been Eiríka Jonathansdóttir, but she’s away on maternity leave.

8. Röskvi Tyrfingsson (23) Image Folte (on loan from Image Esna) (6, 5)
Appearance: One of the most strikingly ugly players ever to have graced a football field, Röskvi has an extremely badly broken nose that resembles nothing less than a squashed strawberry. With an untidy mop of shaggy red hair and a misshapen brow, he bears a more than passing resemblance to a ‘Chucky’ doll. Except he’s six and a half feet tall.
Personality: A selfish player who demands service and gets frustrated when the cross isn’t perfectly delivered onto his forehead. But off the field he’s happy to be one of the lads. He tends to read as a little camp. Enjoys fishing.
Profile: Röskvi is the next big thing in BFG forwards. His heading is a lethal weapon, he has a nose for goal that inspires many obvious puns given his less than model-like appearance, and he’s fearsomely strong. Poor disciplinary record and tends to give up when the game goes against him. Looking for a move for a big club, but will need to prove his worth on the field.

9. Jason Þórhallursson (30) Image Herzegovina City (125, 83)
Appearance: 6’4”, muscular. Short dark blonde hair. Blue eyes. Clean-shaven during qualifiers, will grow a tournament beard if they qualify for the finals. Irritatingly handsome.
Personality: Usually gregarious and friendly, when not weighed down by the pressure of expectations. Built like a BFG but more intelligent, sometimes to his own detriment.
Profile: Jason is the all-time leading national goalscorer, but his poor performance in World Cup 89 finals and terrible CR record cost him his starting place for a time, before something of a renaissance in the most recent World Cup. A barrel-chested striker who has the odd touch of skill but mostly relies on sheer physical presence to get his goals, on his day he’s unstoppable, but those days seem more common for his club than his country.

20. Lara Auðunsdóttir (28) Image St Thomas (20, 8)
Appearance: Tall, lithe, with red hair worn in a ponytail. With a billion freckles, green eyes, and skin so pale she doesn’t show up in photographs, she sticks out a bit from the mostly blonde squad!
Personality: Warm and friendly, but doesn’t let that get in the way of a cutting, competitive determination on the pitch.
Profile: Lara has had a career renaissance since leaving the Audioslavian league where she was struggling for the smaller pond of The Licentian Isles, where she’s become a whacking big fish. Her performance struggled a bit during the last World Cup, but Cantor still has faith in her. A talented goal scorer, sometimes doesn’t have the strength to hold up the defense on her own.

22. Ásvarður Bergmundursson (29) Image St Astons City FC (42, 10)
Appearance: 6’3”, and his shoulders are about as wide. With his angular features he can be a bit scary in dark lighting; when he steps into the light he’s much, much scarier, not helped by an unfortunately monk-like bald patch amid his blonde hair and severe blue eyes.
Personality: Stoical trundler in the uncomplicated BFG model: so long as he gets his beer, and his goals, hopefully not in that order, he’s content. A bit more intelligent than the defensive guys he hangs around with, but not to the level of Jason and Justiina, which can leave him a lonely figure at times.
Profile: A traditional Græntfjaller striker, Ásvarður has carved out a solid international career as Jason’s back-up. As a big head and a powerful energy surge, he remains a good choice for a late game super-sub.

A 4–1–3–2 that relies on Elektra and Emeli pushing up for width while Sara and Johanna drift inside. Both strikers are ‘9’ players, so how they will share roles remains to be seen.

Soccer is a summer sport in Græntfjall, which is a wintry, alpine nation with (given its Rushmori location in the temperate zone) an inexplicably harsh climate. Given the timing of this Cup, all ‘home’ games are once again played at the National High Performance Sports Center. This obviates any home advantage and may in fact disadvantage Græntfjaller players who have previously struggled in tropical conditions, but there is a clear secondary aim of gaining experience in the conditions, which are likely to be hot and humid, but not unbearably so.

The NHPSC is a large multi-sports complex featuring training areas for almost every Olympic and other major sport that Græntfjall competes in. The stadium has now met its full planned capacity of 50,000 and is up to full international standards, though corporate hospitality remains limited in availability. The NHPSC is based in Græntfjaller Multinesia, the largest constituent island of the Græntfjaller South Indies. Where these lie is somewhat confusing as those consulting the Rushmori regional map will find no reference to them: they certainly exist though and lie in tropical oceans far to the south east/west/up/down/strange/charm/other of the Græntfjaller mainland.

The Græntfjaller South Indies were the only major colonial possession of the Queendom captured during the Age of Piracy. During the 20th century, Græntfjall fell under communist rule and the islands were granted independence, an unfortunate oversight which was quickly corrected in the immediate post-communist era, welcoming the islanders back under the benevolent and wise rule of the mainland, which has brought them many modern amenities such as industrial strip-mining of the landscape, while employment opportunities abound in the sweatshops of the Export Processing Zones that, free from international labor regulations, are veritable hives of industry churning out produce for the Græntfjaller and international markets nearly round-the-clock! Many natural beauty spots have been preserved, however, most of them now playing home to luxury vacation resorts, private residences, and golf courses.

There is a naval base, multiple air strips, and a full marine battalion, on the islands, and a heavily military presence is noticeable. There are some restricted areas where photography is not permitted and some areas of the islands are completely off-limits. Have no fear, though, security is assured, and terrorist groups such as the savage “Multinesian Human Rights Council” and “Indigenous People’s Clean Water Defence Fund” are being firmly policed to prevent any rogue action such as passing on documentation of the pollution of their tribal homelands.

The Eternal Empire is a sprawling nation that spreads out over two continents and is made up of many different places that used to be their own nations before being integrated into the Empire fully. The most recent of these places is the nation of Sabine and Caddonia, that make up the continent of Vircais, former home of Kura Pelland and Vephrall before their governmental collapse a century ago. When hosting international tournaments, nearly all of these former nations are utilized in being a hosting venue and provide ample opportunity for those visiting the Eternal Empire to experience varying aspects of the empire itself rather than just one city or region of the empire. Yet when it comes to the national itself, it can only be one location that the Marauders will play at and make use of the home crowd and conditions that come with it.

That venue of course if the legendary Hatire Memorial located in the city of Capri, which is the largest city on the island of the same name which is located just off the coast of mainland Valanora on the southern coast. The venue boasts a sixty thousand capacity that is an all seater stadium, making it one of the largest stadiums in all of the empire, though The Battleground in Raynor City is the largest venue that is currently inside the empire at an impressive seventy-eight thousand capacity. However it does not have the same sort of atmosphere that the Hatire Memorial has, named after a legendary hero of the Empire that lived centuries ago, Jas Hatire. Capri is one of the rare locations that is quite warm compared to the rest of the empire, with there being some jungles and some humidity, having storms in the spring and afternoon "sea breeze" showers routinely in the summer.

Visiting fans are able to purchase a miniature replica of the old warrior from the museum that is attached to the west end of the stadium, located next to FC Capri's official merchandise storefront. FC Capri being the main occupant of the Hatire Memorial, sharing ownership of the stadium with the Hatire Family, with the club owning the majority of the stadium. The attached museum details the various deeds that have been attached to Jas Hatire, with a small amount of dedicated to the family as a whole, though Jas Hatire is definitely the most famous member of the clan. However the attached cafe is very famous for its spiced rum, a rare sight in the Empire as the elven heritage across the Vanorian lands usually sees wine as the preferred spirit of choice. All in all, it is a very intimate and unique location in the Empire, one that all the opponents that the Marauders will face in the group stages of the Eagle's Cup shall be able to be witness to. The Marauders will look to use the atmosphere and environment to their best and get the much needed victories in the Empire, knowing full well how difficult road ventures are in this competition.

Brief National Team History
The Kadongo Kamu have played in exactly 570 games, as of the end of World Cup 90. This is our 18th World Cup cycle overall. We have entered in 15 previous World Cup Qualification campaigns(WCQ73, WCQ74, WCQ75, WCQ76, WCQ77, WCQ79, WCQ80, WCQ82, WCQ84, WCQ85, WCQ86, WCQ87, WCQ88, WCQ89, and WCQ90), and have successfully qualified for 10 out of the last 11 World Cups, famously missing World Cup 89 while we were ranked 5th in the world. We have also participated in Baptism of Fire 60, and been a participant in four different Cup of Harmonies(CoH 66, CoH 67, CoH 71, and CoH 81). In four Cups of Harmony, Banija has only once moved past the group stage, in CoH 81, and they promptly fell on penalties in the Round of 16. In their lone Baptism of Fire, they earned a lone point.

After not competing at all during the World Cup 78 Cycle due to the RBSA's bankruptcy, they re-entered the world of international football in World Cup 79 cycle. A shocking World Cup 79 Qualification campaign saw them on the brink of qualifying, but the team simply ran out of gas and lost 4 of their final 5 matches to not make it to Ceni/Drawkland. Since then, the U21 team got 3rd place at the 42nd Di Bradini Cup, and the national team advanced to the quarterfinals of AOCAF LV, AOCAF LVI, and AOCAF LVII, establishing themselves as a strong regional side, falling to the eventual champs in the latter two tournaments. They stunningly qualified for World Cup 80, after starting poorly by losing 5 of their first 9, to going unbeaten in the second half of qualifying, where they won 7 of those games. In the World Cup 80 Qualification playoffs, a 3-0 first leg victory in Montreal, Royal Kingdom of Quebec, powered the team through to their first ever appearance in the World Cup Finals, advancing to sport's pre-eminent competition 5-3 on aggregate over Mercedini. While a pair of one goal losses saw them eliminated after two games, they earned their first ever victory at the World Cup Finals in a 2-0 win over New Gazi in their final group stage game. As they hosted World Cup 81, they went directly to the tournament, and went to their first ever knockout stages, winning Group A before falling, 1-1(2-1 AET) to Turori in the Round of 16. They cruised to qualification in World Cup 82, maintaining a top two spot in their World Cup Qualification group behind Brenecia for the entirety of the World Cup 82 Qualification campaign, getting to the tournament with relative ease before bowing out in the group stages.

The World Cup 83 cycle was their strongest yet. Starting with AOCAF LVIII on home soil, co-hosted with the Commonwealth of Baker Park, the Kadongo Kamu won 6 consecutive matches to open the tournament, taking their winning streak all the way to the final. Unfortunately, they were felled, 4-2, at home to their archrivals, the Equestrian States. Co-hosting World Cup 83 as well, the Banijans made a miraclous run at the World Cup, upending 5th ranked South Covelllo on penalties, and defeating the then two-time defending world champions Vilita in the quarterfinals, before falling, 3-2, at the national stadium to Starblaydia. They added to the trophy case, however, earning a bronze medal after defeating Cassadaigua in the 3rd place playoff game.

The World Cup 84 cycle, the first with real title expectations for the Banijans, was a disappointment in the regionals, as we fell 1-0 to Ko-oren in the AOCAF Round of 16, although we advanced to the quarterfinals of World Cup 84 before dropping to Eura in extra time. The World Cup 85 cycle seems to be a promise of hope for the Banijans. Although AOCAF LX was a rough tournament for the Banijans, it was surrounded by two excellent tournament performances for the Banijans. We won the U21 World Cup(DBC 47), and are just coming off earning our first ever senior-level trophy, by winning the 8th Eagle's Cup to be admitted as a full, permanent member of the Eagle's Club right before the beginning of World Cup Qualifying. Following that, the Banijans dominated World Cup 85 Qualifying, going wire-to-wire as the first place team in their World Cup Qualifying group, as well as earning more points in World Cup Qualifying(67) than any other team did throughout the entire campaign. Those strong performances both in the Eagle's Cup and World Cup Qualifying have caused fans to put an up and down AOCAF behind them, and heighten the standard for World Cup 85. While they escaped the group stages with four points, strong wins over Vilita and Zwangzug in the knockouts put them on course for a medal, as they eventually beat allies Baker Park in the bronze medal match, after falling 3-2 to the eventual champions Free Republics in the semifinal.

After a return to the AOCAF LXI Quarterfinals, their first quarterfinal appearance in the last 3 editions of the regional championships, they fell to Chromatika on penalties. The World Cup 86 Qualification campaign went rather swimmingly- the national team went a perfect 18-0-0 in World Cup Qualifying, the first time that had happened in well over 10 cycles. The multiverse's #1 ranked squad was brimming with confidence, the two-time bronze medalists entering World Cup 86 trying to win the biggest trophy in all of sports for the first time.

Marcus Waters has always preached the following- "you've got to win at home before you can win the World Cup." It's always meant you've got to win in Atlantian Oceania before you can expect to win the World Cup. And while we've never won the AOCAFs, our group was all Atlantian Oceania sides- Ko-oren, Chromatika, and Mriin. We finished in first place with a 1-0 win over Ko-oren, a 2-2 draw against Chromatika, and a 0-0 draw against Mriin being enough to earn 5 points. Then, we faced a gauntlet of former World champions. A 1-0 win over them put us in our fourth consecutive World Cup Quarterfinal, against 5 time World champions Valanora. A thrilling 4-3 win put us in the semifinal, again facing a GSW rival- World Cup 84 winners Farfadillis. In one of the wildest World Cup semifinals ever played, Banija came out on top 7-6, with a stoppage time winner to put them in the Final against the World Cup 85 winners Nephara. It was a true game of the century- neither team had lost a competitive match since the start of World Cup Qualifying, neither losing during Qualifying or the Finals. And in that thriller, it would be the Banijans who would win, taking a lead and holding onto it, winning by 3 goals to 2 against Nephara to lift the trophy and declare themselves World Cup Champions.

The ensuing AOCAF was strong, but not as strong as they wanted it to be. After starting slowly and losing their opening two games, they finished well done the stretch of group play, and even won a pair of knockout stage games before eventually falling to the champions, Baker Park, in the Semifinals. The Banijans redeemed themselves by earning a bronze medal against Sarzonia. The team took a B squad to Eagle's Cup IX, but a strong performance there landed them a silver medal, losing in the final to Valanora. World Cup 87 did not go the way they expected, getting eliminated in the group stages for the first time since World Cup 82. But we recovered in the World Cup 88 cycle. While a quarterfinal elimination at both Eagle's Cup X and AOCAF LXIII were not great, we were unbeaten in World Cup 88 Qualifying, and reached the World Cup 88 Semifinals, eliminating the defending champions Nephara and falling to the eventual champions Turori along the way. We used that momentum of the semfiinal run to finally earn a regional title, as on our 10th try, we finally won the AOCAFs, defeating Hapilopper in the semifinals and Valanora in the Final, winning both matches via penalty kick shootouts.

That regional title meant little in World Cup Qualifying, however, as Pemecutan and Zwangzug both pipped past Banija to automatically qualify for the World Cup, and left Banija in the dust, gasping for air. That called for a reset from the RSBA, which led to Marcus Waters resigning and Pam Scott be hired. While neither the Cup of Harmony nor the AOCAFs went particularly well, Pam Scott's laser focus on qualifying for the World Cup was a success, as the team not only went to World Cup 90, but showed up in style, winning a pair of penalty shootouts, before falling to the eventual winners, The Holy Empire, on PKs, in the semifinals. They still beat Valanora in the third place match, 2-1, to earn their third overall bronze medal.

List of National Team managers
1. Kizza Kabila(Banija). Manager for Baptism of Fire 60 and the World Cup 73 Qualification Campaign. Overall record of 0-14-1(W-L-D).

Kizza Kabila is the only Banijan to have ever managed the national team. Hired for Banija's first foray onto the international scene in this sport, his reign was universally derided as a disaster. Managing 15 games, he drew his first game in the Baptism of Fire, and not only lost the next two, he then lost ever single match in the 12 game World Cup Qualification campaign for World Cup 73, with the side only scoring 5 goals across the entire campaign. Unceremoniously fired after becoming one of few managers to go through an entire World Cup Qualification campaign without earning a single point, he, alongside the entire board of the RBSA, resigned after the last game. He was disgraced in the sport after the campaign, and, to this point, has never returned to top-level soccer.

2.Jan Cassallerus(San Llera): Hired before the start of the World Cup 74 Qualification Campaign, managed through the World Cup 77 Qualification Campaign. Overall Record of 27-32-16(W-L-D).

Banija put its eyes abroad, searching for a foreign manager before the World Cup 74 Qualification campaign, and found Jan Cassallerus. He is Banija's longest ever serving manager, being at the helm for four entire World Cup cycles, and being at the helm for 75 total games, a kind of longevity unheard of in the modern game, especially managing the national team. He started winning a game at the Coupe D'Esquarium, in what was known as the group of death. He was largely celebrated for bringing the team into relevancy. The expectations were through the floor, following Kizza Kabila, but he brought the team to Cup of Harmony 66 and Cup of Harmony 67, as well as advancing in Olympic Qualifying and getting third place at the United Valhaven Regional Football Championships. He was forced into retirement after the World Cup 77 Qualification campaign, when the RBSA declared bankruptcy, and could not participate in the World Cup 78 Qualification Campaign due to their inability to compensate players and staff.

3. Randolf Cherry(Drawkland): Hired before the start of the World Cup 79 Qualification Campaign. Overall Record of 20-24-2(W-L-D)

Randolf Cherry, after the RBSA got its act together, was hired- controversially- as the manager of the national team. Not that his own hire was controversial, it was applauded across the sports spectrum here at home. He was given a 3 cycle contract, and everyone knew what the goal was- to make the World Cup Finals at least once over the course of the contract. They understood that it would take time to climb the rankings, and they were willing to give him the leash. However, he came in a very awkward situation. Adama Sowe, the Chairman of the RBSA, allegedly first offered the job to Sarah Owens, out of the Equestrian States. Of course, it is illegal in Banija for women to coach men's professional teams, and that caused controversy. And yet, here he was- the manager of the national team.

His own home country of Drawkland is, of course, very progressive in that area, where the sport is dominated by the ladies. Regardless, he had an excellent start to his reign as a manger, and was initially extremely popular. He won his first game, in a special Eagles Club match, against Aggrey-Fynn Land. He lost his first few qualifiers, but he went on a dear through the middle of qualifying, which included a 7 game winning streak on home soil. Big wins against then 4th ranked Chromatika at home and then 32nd ranked Eshan, put them in the conversation of World Cup Qualification, though they were simply not strong enough.

The Cup of Harmony was considered a disaster, finishing in dead last in their group. The competition maybe simply isn't for the Banijans, eh? But they were strong throughout the offseason, making a surprising quarterfinal run in AOCAF LV and bringing high hopes to the squad going into World Cup 80 Qualification. Hopes were through the roof for the national team, maybe even bordering unrealistic. They struggled, and the campaign got worse as the pressure built, as the squad lost their final four qualifiers of the first half of qualifying. With the campaign seemingly in free-fall, he was fired, as the RBSA said they wanted time to conduct "an open, thorough, search."

4. Marcus Waters(Equestrian States): Hired after the 1st half of World Cup 80 Qualifying, fired at the end of World Cup 89 Qualifying. Overall record of 257-81-50(W-L-D). All-time winning percentage of 66.24%. All-time points percentage of 70.53%.

Marcus Waters was the national team's assistant manager with Randolf Cherry above him, and the manager of the youth national teams. He first gained notoriety in Banija after successfully leading the U21 team to a 3rd place finish at the 42nd Di Bradini Cup. With his abilities clear, it made sense to move onto him as the interim manager as they searched for a permanent manager ahead of the second half of World Cup Qualifying. However, he was able to complete a stunning turnaround of this team. His first game in charge, he changed nearly the entire backline, and had a massive upset, away to Qasden, by a score of 3-2. A 3-0 victory over Razenthuria in the other mid-qualifying friendly got high hopes for him.

Marcus Waters went out with an intent to keep his team focused, despite everything going on at home. He has proven adept at navigating the political minefield that is this job, especially with his own country of origin essentially at war with Banija. He didn't lose a single game in the second half of qualifying, winning 7 games to get to the playoffs, including when the team was forced to play home games in Montreal due to ongoing violence within Banija. He was widely applauded for getting the team ready to play in Montreal, and winning 1-0 against Turori, the group's top seeded squad, and a 3-0 win in Montreal in the Qualification playoffs. While the RBSA interviewed four other candidates, his successful push through the World Cup Qualification playoffs and into Banija's first-ever World Cup Finals essentially clinched the job for him, as he put pen to paper to take the interim tag off of his title ahead of the 80th World Cup Finals.

Since then, of course, he has done a lot to garner the confidence of the higher-ups, and of the fans. Falling to the eventual champions in the quarterfinals of both AOCAF LVI and AOCAF LVII was widely seen as a positive. As well as, of course, a surprising Fourth Place finish in the Cup of Champions Six, highlighted by a surprising point earned in their matchup against Nephara, while also pushing through to the Round of 16 of World Cup 81, pleasing the home fans. A different sort of pressure faces him this campaign, however.

For the first time in his reign, you could say that Banija had a disappointing tournament, failing to advance in World Cup 82 beyond the group stages. It might be harsh to say that- on paper, advancing from a group with both Pasarga and Farfadillis is a tall order if your team is not Pasarga or Farfadillis. They responded well, however, winning six consecutive games at AOCAF LVIII, and knocking off major nations including Cosumar and Mriin at the tournament, before being felled in the final, in their own capitol of Busukuma, to Equestria. Following up with a World Cup on home soil, they continued that momentum forward from AOCAF LVIII, as the Banijans took on the role of giantslayers on home soil. They beat the 5th ranked South Covello side, and the then two-time defending world champions Vilita, before eventually falling to Starblaydia in the semifinals, though they still earned a bronze medal. Although momentum was blunted after a tough 1-0 defeat to Ko-oren that secured an early exit from AOCAF LIX, they followed that up with their second straight appearance in the World Cup Quarterfinals, where they fell to Eura in extra time.

The last two cycles he really got the team to rise above themselves. The last two World Cup Qualification cycles, Banija has finished as the best team in World Cup Qualifying by points earned. And he has the silverware to match- a bronze medal earned in World Cup 85, followed by a gold medal in World Cup 86. Having risen from basically nowhere in Equestria to household name status in Banija, he has truly made a name for himself as one of the world's premier international managers. While World Cup 87 was disappointing, he quickly ensured that was a one-off, rather than a sign of things to come. He brought Banija to their fourth World Cup semifinal in their past six tournaments at World Cup 88, and followed that up with winning the country's first ever regional title.

But he is now a victim of his own success. An Eagle's Cup champion, the AO champion, and a World Cup champion, he drastically raised the bar for the Kadongo Kamu. But Banija winning 9 of their last 10 Qualifiers could not overcome their disastrous, and therefore, we did not qualify for the World Cup Finals. The RBSA had no other choice but to let the legend and Hall of Famer walk, as the time has come around for the national team to change their head man for the first time since World Cup 80.

5. Pamela Scott(Commonwealth of Baker Park): Hired after World Cup 89 Qualifying, right before Cup of Harmony 81. Overall Record of 26-9-11(W-L-D). Winning percentage: 56.52%. Points percentage: 64.49%

Scott is widely regarded as one of the brightest tactical minds in the sport, and her record speaks for itself. Replaced Trevor Richmond as BP National Team Manager after the side qualified for the WC in their first three attemps, then followed Ichi Tuzzio as boss of the WC 85 Champions, overhauling the roster and bringing a bit of defensive awareness to the legendary Farf attacking style. Has an eye for young talent and not afraid to give them a chance. The above is why she was hired- leverage her experience to bring stabilization to a national team that is currently reeling.

While the Cup of Harmony and the AOCAFs both resulted in disappointing exits at the Round of 16, and the Eagle's Cup went disastrously(not scoring for 5 consecutive matches), Pam Scott is still upbeat about the direction of the national team. "With this cycle, everything is about World Cup Qualification." She told reporters. "Those tournaments, while they did not go well, were about finding the right squad, building to this moment. Banija wants to compete on all fronts, of course- but we cannot do that if we are not qualifying for the World Cup. These tournaments, while not great on the field, have allowed me to experiment all sorts of lineups, and expose different players to elite competition at the international stage. How they deal with things like pressure. You're going to see much different results when the team takes the field for World Cup 90 Qualifying."

But the World Cup was an unmitigated success. Beating both Audioslavia and Eura was a stunner, as Banija won the group of death with a game to go. Not resting on their laurels, they downed two AO rivals, SRS and Baker Park, in back-to-back games in route to the semifinals, and eventually, a bronze medal. With that success, Pam Scott declared that the national team is "back to competing on all fronts", as they gun for a second ever AOCAF title.

1. The Equestrian States. All time Banijan record against opponent- 0-7-2(W-L-T).

The Equestrian States are easily Banija's biggest rival, and by a country mile. It has all the makings of a good international sporting rivalry- plenty of matches played, history of competitive matches, geopolitical rivalry, player familiarity, and, of course, geographical proximity- all those boxes are checked. They've played each other 5 times, and Banija has come out on the losing end each and every time, most recently a 4-0 clobbering at the hands of the Equestrian States during Banija's final friendly before this qualification tournament began.

Three times have they played in competitive competition, and three times Banija has fallen. The Equestrian States eliminated Banija from Cup of Harmony 71 in group play, while also defeating the Banijans in both the opening match of World Cup 80, and the final group stage match of AOCAF LVI, though the Banijans still advanced to the quarterfinals of that tournament. The familiarity of players between each other is strong. Banija's present and most successfull all-time manager, Marcus Waters, is Equestrian. A number of players in each country play in leagues in the other. Famous Equestrian NT players like Aaron Aiza, Rosie Tyler, and Josef Lawrenz, ply their trade in the Banijan Soccer League, with Aiza particularly growing to superstar status while winning league titles at Herzegovina City FC.

Banija's first ever major final in this sport, at the senior level, was against none other than Equestria at the national stadium, with the winner to be crowned champions of AOCAF LVIII Final. In front of a decidedly pro-Banijan crowd, it was the Equestrians who dashed Banijan dreams of glory on their home turf as they picked up their first ever major international silverware, with a 4-2 victory. That victory has made the Banijans just that much hungrier to defeat their bitter rivals, and though the history is lopsided in favor of Equestria, that has just fueled the fire on this side of the matchup. The two sides co-hosted World Cup 83 together, and almost had a rematch of their AOCAF LVIII Final in the World Cup Final, though Banija could not fulfill its end of the bargain as they fell to a stronger Starblaydia side in the semifinals. Equestria, of course went on to win the World Cup, and the next AOCAF to boot, establish a fully fledged dynasty. The Banijans, in pre WOrld Cup 84 Qualification friendlies, got their first ever result against the Equestrians, a 0-0 draw in Everfree.

Equestria and Banija were in the same group at AOCAF LXII, with the opening match of the tournament being a repeat of the AOCAF LVIII Final. Banija, we thought, rising high and champions. But Equestria came to rain on the parade. They won on Matchday 1, by a score of 2-1 in Busukuma, and we could only manage a return draw. Our fiercest rivals, and yet, we've still never managed to have beaten them, in a competitive or a friendly match. That search for the elusive win against Equestria continues.

2. Farfadillis. All time Banijan record against opponent- 2-5-0(W-L-T)

What makes a good international rivalry? You need a mixture of history and luck. Luck, to have played in plenty of high stakes matches against each other on the biggest stages- World Cups, AOCAFs, and the like. But you also need nearness. What makes these two know each other so well? We've played in twice as many competitive matches against Chromatika as we have against Farfadillis.

Well, let's go with the political intrigue. Of course, there's geography- Farfadillis is the closest nation to Banija that does not share a land border with Banija. Their former capitol, is on the northern tip of their island, which is just south of Busukuma, the Banijan capitol city. So of course, there's that familiarity. And when the Farfadillis national government fell apart and they fell into some sort of a controlled chaos, many refugees fled Farfadillis for the stability of Banija. Busukuma became the natural landing place. There are no official numbers, but there an estimated 100,000 or so Farf refugees across the country, but with over half of them, around 60,000, residing in Busukuma.

So there's that familiarity on an intimate level, especially in Banija, and especially in Banija's capitol. Especially in the capitol, it's always a huge deal when these two meet. And besides that? Well, of course, we dropped a few nuclear warheads on Farfadillis, where Banija's nuclear weapons got both hacked and stolen by operatives. While, surprisingly, it didn't cause as much damage as one would expect, 5 nuclear weapons are still quite a bit to get hit by. Farf citizens weren't exactly appreciative, and that is fresh in everybody's mind.

Lastly, look at the integration of our footballing systems. We have a combined league. With the combination of our top flights in the Shango-Fogoa Premier League, Banijan footballing fans and Farf footballing fans interact every single week. Sometimes peacefully, sometimes violently, always loud and passionately. For two seperate nations(plus Busoga), they have a very integrated league system. And that, of course, will mean that the rivalry is played out every week. Banijan teams v. Farf teams. Farf teams got the better of their Banijan opponents, by and large, throughout the inaugural season, but there is still plenty left to say on the subject.

This is Banija's clear #2 rival, ahead of anybody else, besides Equestria. And as the S-FPL continues, this rivalry will continue to be competitive for years to come. Not to mention, the two have played a pair of thrilling World Cup Finals matches against each other- Farfadillis being victorious in World Cup 81, and then being victorious again in World Cup 84, where they went on to win that World Cup. What'd be more fun than another Finals matchup between these two juggernauts, right?

3. Chromatika. All time Banijan record against opponent- 7-3-2(W-L-T)

This is, admittedly, not the first nation you think of when you think of Banija's rivals. But There is a long-time history between these two nations. These two have more shared history than Banija and any other opponent, at least in competitive matches. Banija and Chromatika have faced off a grand total of 9 times competitively- all in the modern era of Banijan soccer, which is WCQ79-present. It was that first campaign back, after the RBSA bankruptcy, where it was established.

Banija had one of their biggest ever all-time wins in that Qualifying campaign, our first ever win over a top 5 opponent, when we beat then #4 Chromatika 2-1 in Jinja City. It's a night that has gone down in Banijan history. Looking back, many see it as Banija's first true launch towards where we are now- from a consistent middle of the pack nation in Qualifying, who couldn't do anything in the Cup of Harmony, to demanding a seat at the table by being an elite squad.

And we've played plenty of times since, as well. AOCAF LXI- we beat them in the group stages, only to fall to them in the Quarterfinals, on penalty kicks. We each got clean sheet victories over the other team at Eagle's Cup VIII, a tournament that we ended up winning. And we played them twice in World Cup Qualifying for 86, beating them twice en route to a perfect 18-0-0 Qualifying record. We played them again at the Finals, and we battled out a 2-2 draw.

They're a tough opponent, and considering the frequency of our matches in recent years, meeting up in the Finals would not be that unexpected. We know each other well, have played with plenty of stakes on the line. And, of course, there's those cultural and political connections that make the greatest international rivalries- a Banijan delegation, led by present Banijan Ambassador to Chromatika and former Banijan Minister of Justice, Xolile Lubabalo, helped shepherd Chromatika's transition to democracy. It's friendly, but there's plenty of history to make it interesting.

Honorable Mentions
Nations mentioned here are considered key rivals, but there is not enough competitive match history to really define it as a rivalry. Nations are not listed in order.

- Siovanija & Teusland(Geographic proximity, cultural + political ties)
- Valanora(geographic proximity)
- Royal Kingdom of Quebec(general history and close political/cultural ties- Banija is a former colony of Quebec and they have been close ever since)
- Sarzonia(General sporting rivalry, history with 3 AOCAF matches against each other, 2 World Cup Qualifying matches, and a World Cup Finals match)
- Baker Park(cultural plus political ties)

Select Player Bios

1. CB Demba Kinteh

Demba Kinteh has an interesting career arc himself. He made a name for himself in Banija, helping a team win a huge upset at the RBSA Cup, and using that to help launch his own career. He's won at every level. He won at the U18 level, winning a World Cup there. He's a senior World Cup champion, having won at World Cup 86. He's won multiple league titles in the S-FPL. And he's won the AOCAFs as well.

Having won basically everywhere he's been, with Nzo essentially relegated back to the bench, Demba Kinteh has been given the greatest of honors- the armband. He's going to be much more than simply the elite defender in the middle of Banija's back 3. He's going to have to be the face of the team, the team's veteran leader. Can he handle all of that extra responsibility? And as he has mentioned, of course, there is plenty of additional pressure considering Banija's situation. It's Qualification or bust this year- no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

This is a team that is going to focus on harnessing its abundance of attacking talent, and turning that into goals. They are certainly capable of being exposed on the counter-attack, and that is where the back 3 will have to act as one. Can Kinteh organize the defense into an effective enough force, despite the team's attacking focus?

2. ST Kausu Dione

And now, for the starting striker. Ilman Jawara had been the main man up top for so long, the days of Assefa Yitebarke leading the front lines feel like an eternity ago. When he retired from international duty, after World Cup 87, Kausu Dione won the competition to replace him as the team's starting striker. When he then parlayed that into winning a Player of the Season award in one of the world's toughest league(Audioslavia), he was essentially fixed in his spot as one of Banija's two starting strikers.

He's a world champion at two levels- a starter on Banija's U18 World championship team, and a starter on Banija's U21 world championship team. While Kadongo Kamu teammate Wanda Kouyate is the multiverse's only three-level world champion(U18, U21, Senior) Kausu Dione is going to go for a more impressive feat- become the first person to be a three-level world champion as a starter on every level, since Kouyate was only a starter on the U21 squad. He's got the regional title, making him one of the most decorated players in Banijan history. But the pressure is on him. He wasn't on the World Cup winning team, so his legacy could be defined entirely by Banija's failures at World Cup 89. Can he continue his climb up Banija's all-time scoring list, shake that reputation, and bring the team Eagle's Cup glory?

3. Idi Mboge

Mboge has the distinction of being the only Banijan to ever win the Cup of Harmony. How, one may ask? He probably has the most interesting career arc of any of Banija's players to play for the Kadongo Kamu. He was born to Banijan migrants in Maal, the capitol city of Mriin. So he grew up in Mriin, and played soccer in their youth system. But with a firm ceiling for human players in Mriin, he went to his country of origin when his parents realized that he was indeed good enough to go pro.

When he hit the scene in Banija's youth leagues, he was immediately a star, winning the player of the year award, and getting selected for Banija's U21 World Cup team at DBC 47. But his success there got the attention of higher-ups in Mriin. Why not get rid of that artificial ceiling? They sent him a late invitation to join the squad, to accept their call-up. The day before Banija's first game of DBC 47, he decided to leave Banija's U21 squad to play for his country of birth, Mriin. To say he faced criticism was an understatement. An unprecedented amount of vitriol for a dual-national, but when you consider the nature of him leaving(aka when the tournament was basically underway), it struck a lot of fans and players the wrong way.

From that point, he would go ahead and choose to play for Mriin's senior side. He was a key contributor to Mriin's Cup of Harmony winning side, giving him a major international trophy before they quit international sport. But with Mriin no longer sending out their national teams, that left only one option- for Idi Mboge to return. And he didn't, at least for a while. Last cycle, he was blackballed by Marcus Waters, who knew that his former teammates from Banija's U21 side still held a grudge. The entire World Cup 88 cycle, he wasn't invited. AOCAF LXIV? Please.

Then, the Olympics came around. U23- he's too old, right? But wait- three overage players allowed. So Marcus said, why not? Select Idi Mboge. The team got eliminated in the group stages. And then, Mboge went to the Eagle's Cup. Banija got a bronze medal at the Cup of champions. But Mboge showed enough to get called up to the A squad for World Cup Qualifying. How will his teammates react? Will fans accept him? The burning questions that must be asked. And there was no discord- he integrated well onto the national team.

Unfortunately for him, he's dealt with the pressure by not playing in the Eagle's Cup or the Cup of Harmony, as Pam Scott sent the foreign based players to focus on their clubs while Banija's domestic-based players would play in those tournaments. He's back at the top, and will be put under a lot of pressure. He's seemed to put the DBC debacle behind him, but if things start to go poorly... He's the easiest scapegoat for the squad's struggles.

Turori National Team

Head Coach: Tarek Edgeli
After spending 3 seasons being trained in Crosaibi at Marine Coast United, Edgeli made the switch down the coast to the Lonngeylin Coliseum for Season 43. While Strike were unable to win any silverware, Edgeli fit straight into the squad as one of the top performing defenders in the entire league earning instant plaudits and recognition back in Turori. Edgeli would be an ever-present in the Turorian squad earning the role of captain as the team advanced to the World Cup Semi Finals for the first time in the nations history at World Cup 81 in the Free Republics and Banija. After a long absence from regional competition, Edgeli, retired from the Turori National Team, would captain the Vilita and Turori National Team during the 60th AOCAF Competition.

After working with the Vilita & Turori National Team for two campaigns including the Olympic Games, Edgeli took on the role of head coach for the Turori National Team during the Eagle’s Cup XIX Competition and after leading the team to a Bronze Medal in the first attempt, returned to coach the team again during Eagle's Cup X. While Edgeli's Eel's came up just short again, earning their second consecutive Bronze Medal, the performance was enough to convince the Football Association of Turori that Edgeli was their coach of the future; relieving long time coach Klailall Tuirma of the Head Coaching duties by promoting Tuirma to the role as Competition Director of the Football Association of Turori while assigning Edgeli to the role of Turori National Team Manager for the World Cup 88 Cycle. In their first cycle as Head Coach of the Turori National Team, Tarek Edgeli led the Eels to their first World Cup Title.

Nickname: The Eels

Style: -1.23

The coaches will select the squad from the National Player pool. Players are listed below, grouped by position and sorted by projection 'Depth Chart' position where the top player listed is most likely to be named the first player selected for that position, and so on. Depth chart positions are determined by performance in pre-cup training sessions, as well as performance and average ratings in the Vilitan League competition and previous appearances for the National Team.

Note 'Caps" are shown are currently on record for Turorian Players on from the start of World Cup 80 due to federation budget re-allocations during this time period to the Cocoabo Enrichment & Enhancement Project (CEEP)

Derizi was trained in the the goalkeeper program at the Eelandii Academy. While in Eelandii, the Youth Team qualified for the IFCF Youth Cup after finishing as Top Turorian Youth side in the Tropicorp Youth Cup. Performances for the Academy resulted in a contract with Sporta Eelandii Senior Squad but the Senior Squad was relegated from the Declasse automatically triggering a release clause for the young goalkeeping prospect. Instead of staying local, Derizi opted to take their talents to Eura joining Revolutionaries as they look to take their career to the next level overseas. Amatopa’s first internationstatal tournament came with the Vilitan Union at the XIV Olympic Games and the youngster would earn a Gold Medal despite not appearing in any of the matches. It was a different situation during the 50th Di Bradini Cup when Amatopa started in three of Vilita & Turori’s 7 matches in route to the championship. Amatopa would also start the majority of matches for the Turori National Team during Eagle’s Cup X where Turori earned the Bronze Medal. On a Domestic level, Amatopa took over as starting goalkeeper for Revolutionaries at the age of 18 and earned Goalkeeper of the Season Honors during EuraLeague 45 after leading Revolutionaries to the Euraleague Title. Amatopa became a World Cup Champion when Turori defeated The Holy Empire to win World Cup 88. Amatopa led all Turori goalkeepers with seven starts in the Qualifying round as well as having started one match during the World Cup 88 Finals.

Made first Turori National Team start during World Cup 82 Qualifying in a 2-1 victory over Kelssek. An'maude led Cedniavella to the 64th UICA Series 'B' Champions Cup title and then subsequently backstopped the 'Vellas to a runner-up finish in the Declasse during Season 54 and subsequent promotion to the Stellar Division. An'maude was also named Vilitan Declasse Division goalkeeper of the Season for the Season 54. While An'maude was impressive in the Stellar Division, leading Cedniavella to a top-10 finish ahead of rivals Cednia Beach AFC, the Turorian netminder was coerced out of Cedniavella to take over goalkeeper duties at Lonngeylin Coast as the heir-apparent to the aging Cilamara Issah. Was Vilita & Turori's #1 netminder on the championship winning AOCAF 56 squad and is also an Olympic Gold Medalist with the Vilitan Union during the XI Olympic Games. With the close of their career in sight, An'maude would pull one final trick out of their hat. After a loyal career played entirely for one of Turori's smaller clubs, An'maude's dedication to Turorian sport shone through as the #1 goalkeeper for the Eels during the World Cup 88 Finals. An'maude posted back to back shutouts to get the Turori National Team back into the Semi-Finals before victories over Banija and The Holy Empire would bring the World Cup Trophy to Turori for the very first time.

The Turorian played an important role in Vilita & Turori’s triumph during AOCAF 56 and following the tournament would transfer closer to home departing Yeaddin to join Mliona-Lpaka AFC where they would play the majority of their domestic career. Aeroluzzi joined Rammsissil from Surf Jettica at the age of 17 as the eventual Declasse Champions looked to bolster their squad ahead of a season 57 Stellar Division return. Aeroluzzi would play just two seasons for Rammsissil before the allure of Colonial Sile came calling. The midfielder would become a permanent fixture in the Colonial Sile roster in a decision that improved the players exposure but would ultimately reduce their silverware haul as Rammsissil would enter a period of success including internationstatal and domestic trophies while Colonial Sile continued their historical trend of high finishes in the Vilitan Stellar Division with no trophies to show for it.

Visitors Guide to Turori & Eagle's Cup Stadiums

The Island Emirate of Turori has four main zones as part of is primary inhabited areas. The majority of Turori's Population resides on the south eastern portion of Turori's main Island. This includes the Capital City of Almintora, the surrounding capital region including Cednia and the purpose built sportropolis of Eelandii as well as on the Northern shore the city of Kionao. While Almintora is still the largest city in the Island Emirate, Cednia and its associate Beach life at the southern tip of Turori's main Island have become one of its most popular for entertainment as well as holiday style tourism. Outside of this, the large portion of Turori's remaining population are in the Mliona region of Turori's smaller Island, where folks who want to be detached from the hustle bustle of the Capital City life tend to reside.

Directly between Almintora and Cednia Beach sits Eelandii, a purpose built "Sportropolis" built midway between Turori's two largest cities, Almintora and Cednia. Eelandii itself is not a town or a city but a purpose-designated that initially consisting of just Eel's park - itself a state of the art sporting complex for football and athletics, the campus at Eelandii was quickly expanded to include the offices of the Football Association of Turori and a permanent training facility for the Turori National Team. 90% of Turori's Top Tier international talent spends time at the Eelandii Academy at some point in their development. The Cup of Champions will kick off when the defending champions Turori take the field against World Cup Winners Pemecutan in Pemecutan. Turori's first home game will be at the smaller Eagle's Club Pitch #1 against Under-21 Champions Graintfjall. From There, Turori's remaining group stage matches will move outward to the neighboring cities of Cednia and Almintora. Should Turori advance to the knockout rounds their remaining matches are expected to be played at the Eagle's Club in Eelandii.

The most popular souvenir in Eelandii currently is the Eelskin Brown Vuvuzela.

Eelandii, Turori
Postcard:
Image

Fixture :: Home Match #1 v. Graintfjall

Location :: The Eagle's Club is located in the purpose built city of Eelandii, midway between the Turorian cities of Almintora and Cednia.

Capacity :: 8,000 + Add'l Temporary Seating

Stadium History :: Although Turori were champions of Eagle's Cup III, the purpose built Eagle's Club facility in Eelandii was not constructed until just prior to Eagle's Cup V. Prior to this, Almintora National Stadium in Almintora was Turori's designated Eagle's facility.

The main pitch at the Eagle's Club has only one permanent grand stand which sits directly over the facility entrance at the south end of the stadium behind the goal with a capacity of about 8,000. The main pitch is available as a practice facility for any Eagle's Club member, permanent or cyclic honorary members, when visiting Atlantian Oceania or Turori whether they are contesting an International Match or just holding a tour practice. There are additional pitches and sport facilities on the complex accessible only to Eagle's Club members. Additionally, all facilities in the purpose built sporting hub of Eelandii are available to Eagle's Club members on a first-come first-serve basis.

During Eagle's Cup events, temporary grandstands are constructed along the two long sides of the pitch supporting between 20-45,000 additional fans. The temporary grand stands are physically separated from the pitch by a Brick promenade covered in vine overgrowth.

The most important event held at the Eagle's Club is the Champions Ceremony. While the Eagle's Cup Final is typically held off-site to encourage larger attendance numbers, the final contestants return to the Eagle's Club to receive their medals. Prior to the medal ceremony, a third place match is held to determine which nation will receive the bronze medals. For logistical purposes, the Third Place Playoff match goes straight to penalty kicks if tied after 90 minutes, ensuring the medal ceremony is not delayed. This scheduling detail also makes the Eagle's Cup unique in that the third place playoff match takes place after the competition final.

Primary Tenants :: All members of the Eagle's Club are the primary tenants at the Eagle's Club main pitch. The expanded-seating capacity Eagle's Club venue is used only for Eagle's Club knockout round matches or matches between two Eagle's Club members.

Cednia, Turori
Postcard:
Image

Fixture :: Home Match #2 v. Pemecutan

Location :: Cednia is the Vacation Center of the Island Emirate boasting the best Coastlines, nightlife and business opportunities within Turori in a sprawling coastal city.

Capacity :: 103,000

Stadium :: The Cednia Beach Center is one of the purest examples of capitalism and expansion in the Vilitan Leagues. Originally a modest plot for a modest team, the stadium has risen along with the rise of the club. Now, a world class stadium capacity wise, there are concessions that were made. The training grounds outside the center are second rate, and parking is virtually non-existent at the complex. Public transportation - including your own two feet, would be required for fans to access the stadium. Thats alright though, plenty of lodging surrounds the local area within walking distance.

The Cednia Beach Center has been home to International competitions for many seasons including the Cup of Harmony 53 Final contested between Darmen and New Montreal States. New Montreal States ran out 4-2 winners on the day in what was an otherwise quiet and successful day at the park for fans attending at the Cednia Beach Center, showcasing the ability for Cednia to host the marquee matchups of International Sport despite the close confines of the stadium with its Cednia surroundings. Just two cycles later, the Cednia Beach Center would be home to one of the the most talked about World Cup Finals of its era, when Atlantian Oceania powerhouse Starblaydia in search of their record 6th World Cup took on an Audioslavia side that had made more World Cup Finals without ever winning than any other nation. In that game, Audioslavia finally prevailed to earn their first World Cup title while Starblaydia still seeks that elusive 6th title.

Almintora, Turori
Postcard:
Image

Fixture :: Home Match #3 v. Chromatika:

Location :: Almintora National Stadium is located in Almintora, Turori. Almintora is the capital city of the Island Emirate of Turori and has been the capital ever since the time of Turorian independance.

Capacity :: 79,000 (All Seated)

Stadium History :: The Almintora National Stadium served as the home of the Football Association of Turori and the Turori National team from their entrance onto the international competition scene prior to World Cup 15 until the Football Association relocated their headquarters to the purpose built Eels Park community in Eelandii, Turori.

The Almintora National Stadium was originally constructed as a 45,000 seat stadium for use by the National Team during World Cup 15 and World Cup 16 qualification. However, when it became evident that Turori's nearby neighbors, the Tropics of Vilita, were being considered as the potential hosts of World Cup 17, the Football Association of Turori strategically aligned itself with their former colonial lands in order to ensure that of the 8 stadia selected for the World Cup Finals, one would be from Turori. Naturally, the Almintora National Stadium was the stadium of choice and would serve as the first time the Island Emirate of Turori would open its doors to a major international event. With a lot on the line, the Turorian government partnered with the Football Association of Turori to increase the capacity of the Almintora National Stadium from 45,000 to 79,000 in time for the World Cup 17 finals.

The move was proven even more fruitful when the Turori Eels themselves qualified for the World Cup 17 finals, the first finals appearance for Turori, and were able to play each of their group stage matches at their home stadium.

With the success of hosting one group of the World Cup 17 finals at the Almintora National Stadium, Turori had put itself on the map. Soon after it would be announced that the Island Emirate of Turori would host World Cup 19 in a joint bid with The Belmore Family. Naturally, the crown jewel of Turorian stadiums, the Almintora National would ultimately host the World Cup Final - the single most prestigious match in the multiverse.

Unfortunately for the Almintora National Stadium, hosting the World Cup 19 final was something of a 'peak' over the course of the stadiums lifespan. Co-sharing the arena between the Turori National Team and Turorian domestic side FC Almintora accelerated the wear, tear and aging within the facility. To make matters worse, the mediocre performance of FC Almintora in the domestic league meant that incentive to invest in further renovation of the arena was minimal. The stadium would still be chosen to host the final of the 26th Cup of Harmony, but even by that time the Cednia Beach Center in Cednia had started to become the premier sporting facility on the Island. In fact, even the Cup of Harmony 26 final was originally awarded to the newly built Coliseum of the Inurahtii in the Inura Forest, however, the Safety & Health Initiative of Turori determined that the site would not be ready in time to host spectators, with the Final site being retroactively chosen as the Almintora National Stadium due to its experience having hosted the World Cup 19 final.

Despite having been supplanted as Turori's international stadium of choice, the Almintora National Stadium has accrued one honor that no other stadium in Turori - or in Vilita, can lay claim. Almintora National Stadium is the only stadium in Vilita & Turori to have been selected as a host site for the UICA Globe Cup, having been home to the 55th Globe Cup final. Almintora National Stadium also hosted the 66th UICA Champions Cup Final.

Primary Tenants :: FC Almintora currently compete in the Vilitan Declasse Division. The Turori National Team continue to play occasional matches at the arena during World Cup Qualifying due to the arenas central location in Almintora, the capital city of Turori.

Visitors Guide to Shirley
by the St Leon State Tourism & Convention Board

The State of St Leon has been given the honor by the Football Association of the Commonwealth of hosting the matches for the Baker Park National Team in Eagles Cup 13. We welcome all visitors from across the multiverse to our corner of the Commonwealth, and are proud to show off our city, the sixth largest by population in BP with over 1.6 million residents inside of the city limits and the surrounding suburbs.

Shirley is the fifth oldest permanent site established in the Commonwealth, founded in August 21, 1880 and soon after that, the settlement (and eventually the state) came under the stewardship of the third of George W Baker's sons, John D Baker (who was always called David within the family--he is responsible for the seven stars of the Andromeda constellation on the flag and the Great Seal--as not to be confused with his nephew William John, who also went by his middle name).

The buzz within the city is for the debut of the long awaited replacement to historic President's Park, the recently completed CONAGCO Stadium; several major elements of the architecture are directly drawn from the "weirdest place to play soccer in maybe all of Atlantian Oceania, but also the most fun" (as Ichi Tuzzio--who should know weird places--once remarked), with the bonus of everything outdated and problematic (narrow concourses/aisles/seats, insufficient/substandard facilities for spectators and competitors) brought up to modern levels of amenities.

Arriving
St Leon-Midalia International Airport (SMX) is one of the five places that scheduled, direct overseas flights originate and make a final destination to in Baker Park. While it and Endborough International handle the bulk of traffic from a vast semicircle covering all points east of the Commonwealth, for the Cup of Champions direct non-stop flights into SMX from anywhere in the multiverse will be the norm. Baker Park's car rental market is about as cut-throat and cheap as you could imagine--so much so that you can still haggle an agent down to about $75-85 for a 24 hour premium car rental (OOC-think BMW/Mercedes level).
The commuter train will get you into Shirley City (the heart of downtown) in around 25 minutes, which cut down on the hassles if you rent a car and aren't 100% sure of where you're going.

What to Do
What is your interest outside of soccer? For a 36-48 hour visitor, there's plenty of pastimes to entertain, while a longer stay opens up a much larger menu of ways to enjoy St Leon.

The Commonwealth Mining Corporation is one of the most prevalent influences on everyday life in Baker Park--it is one of the leading stocks on the MERCEX 100, it is the parent of CommOil, the nation's largest petroleum retailer as well as CONAGCO (Consolidated Natural Gas Company)--and its 63 story headquarters tower is the second tallest building in the Commonwealth (behind the 72 story Baker International Tower in Belle Haven) known far and wide as 'Black Rock' for the exterior glass panels that reflect the sunlight; the public observation deck offers one of the best panoramas seen anywhere in the country.

The Museum of Mining is about a 10 minute ride from CMC, it's close to the University of St Leon campus (and the stadium), or opt to take a tour of an abandoned mine in nearby Shirley Heights.
The Delegacy Building, where the St Leon Legislature meets and also is home to the rest of the state government is across the street to the west of Black Rock; if gold leaf decoration is your interest, an hour at the Delegacy is time well spent.

In 1997 the City Corporation invested in a pilot program to build elevated tramway through the heart of the city; although it wasn't an idea that the Public Works Ministry chose to pursue it's still a popular form of transport that has paid for itself over the last dozen years. Good views of the midtown area and free transfer to the surface train are worth the fare.

Mountain Circus, a modern amusement park, is approximately 45 minutes southeast of the city in McIlroy Borough (have no fear, it's not a real circus!).

What to take away
One of the elements that has made the Commonwealth among the most popular tourist destinations in Atlantian Oceania and the multiverse is the friendliness of its people; as a nation that has built a foundation on the acceptance of anyone without regard to their appearance, beliefs or origins, Parkers are welcoming to visitors and will go out of their way to offer assistance and hospitality to guests even under the most competitive sporting rivalry.
