Read the rules very carefully before posting; I don't trust that F7ers will always follow the rules of a post. For this one, it is especially important that you follow the rules to keep the poem sounding alright.
Rules:
- Write one line per post.
- The poem must rhyme.
The last sound of your post must be the same as (or at least similar to) the last sound as the above post, unless the above-above post already rhymes with the above post. - There will be an AABB rhyming scheme, so the rhyme will alternate every two posts.
Look at the two above posts. Do they rhyme? If so, you can make a new rhyme. If not, you must make your line rhyme with the above post. - Each of your lines must have around 12 syllables.
It doesn't have to be exact, but aim for about this length. I recommend you read the above post out loud and then your post to see if it sounds 'poem-ish'. - The poem can be about whatever you want.
Lines don't have to relate to each other; they can be complete nonsense, even. Just be sure to make them rhyme.
Examples:
Republic of Cebu wrote:Banana banana banana, banana banana
Henria wrote:I wish to overthrow the regime in La Habana.
Girtischia wrote:What on earth would you get if you combined pens, pineapples and apples?
Wiristan wrote:I really do not think anyone will care 'bout these examples.
New Jersey United Empire wrote:New jersey is much better than stinky poop new York
Chungustan- wrote:You shall be sent to Haram jail if you consume pork!
Some notes:
- Despite the name, this is not meant to be a ballad. It just sounded cool as a title.
- I wanted to make it rhyme because 1. it sounds cool and 2. to create some cohesion between posts; one of the best things about F7 for me is the interaction between posts, this is removed when you don't have to relate your post to the above post. I think.
- I have a very specific rhyming pattern because I do not trust F7ers to make their own rhyming schemes and succeed. Please follow this scheme or I believe the thread will get too confusing and intimidating for people to participate.
- Feel free to put a /stillme if someone doesn't rhyme your post.
- I might edit this to add some more notes later.
With that said, I'll start.
