Unknown Planet

Stuck, trapped, confused, and more importantly with no way home. The away team of the Endeavor have found themselves now in an unknown world and with no contact with the Endeavor. They must try to survive in this foreign world and find a way to find the rest of the away team. Along with any other unfortunate souls that have found themselves trapped on this world. With unknown dangers and some secrets. Can these people work together and find a way off-planet and a way home or will they be stuck on this planet forever? This is their story.

Jungle
It was around midday in the wild jungle when "Emery" and Torleth would reappear after being transported. But, not together but all could see some smoke coming over the distance. Along with the cries and sounds of wildlife nearby.

Underground facility
Meanwhile, Jaden CA1-10 and Dante Lopez would find themselves in a facility of some sort, Each one in their own metal room, and the air feels stale. The rooms are dimly light and old machinery and equipment can be seen. Clearly passed their prime and broken. The doors are open and in varying states of disrepair.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jaden Vale
Jaden when he awoke found himself on the cold metal floor. Opening his eyes and quickly realized that he is no longer at that alien ruin on that jungle planet. Slowly getting up with a confused sigh, "what just happened and where are I?" Spending some time scanning the room, "okay so some broken tech and man is it dark." Jaden turned on his flashlight on his helmet to get a better view. Then had the idea of getting on his radio and quickly tried to contact anyone. "Hello, this is corporal Jaden to the away team, anyone there over?" Static was his reply, then trying to contact the Endeavor. "Endeavor, this is corporal Jaden Vale of the away team do you read over?" More static, "Fricking A," he said in frustration. Either where ever he was blocking his signal or he is not in range with anyone. Both are horrible situations to be in when he has no clue of where he is. "Jaden calm down Jaden just calm down." He said to himself, "Being angry is not going to help things..... thought what will?" Spending another moment to look around the room. For a clue of where he is.

"Okay, so I must in some faculty of some kind facility due to the metal floor and wall. A poorly kept one if the state of this room is an indicator." Making another sigh, as he has decided on what to do now. Well, the only thing to do now. "Time to see if I am alone in this place and maybe I can find the others." So with one last deep breath, Jaden with his ready at the ready. Left the room he was in and moved further into the facility. Hoping to find some of the away team soon and unknown to him. Find out what lies in this place.

CA1-10

15 seconds.

That's how long Cal's start-up sequence took - around 14 seconds and 720 milliseconds too long. Something had gone wrong. As his synthetic eyes began streaming signals to his mind, he realized he had no access to memories pertaining as to how he had arrived in this new location. One moment, he was in the ruins of an alien civilization, finding all he could about them. And the next...

Cal ascertained that he was in some kind of manufacturing or scientific facility, obviously long-neglected. His atmospheric tester read an acceptable oxygen content, but with higher levels of carbon dioxide. Upon testing the radio inside his cranium, he discovered that it gave back no signal. It could have been something exterior preventing signals from entering, or it could have been damage from his journey to this strange place.

One thing was certain; Cal was not helpless. He switched on his head-mounted flashlight, and prepared himself to find where he was, and what had befallen the rest of the away team.

Torleth Maskren
The Jungle?

Torleth squawked, randomly training the scope of his blaster rifle in various directions as he found himself suddenly shunted across space, and perhaps time. The Jokari, one completely bereft of the psychic capabilities that had made their more evolved brethren a ferocious lot, was visibly shaken, though not completely removed from reality. He is a marine. They're trained for this!

Or not. Transdimensional teleportation certainly isn't part of the job description.

To his own relief, he found the reporter embedded to the Endeavour, Emery, at his side. She seemed to be similarly cluless about their whereabouts.

"Hey," Torleth spoke to her in an oddly pronounced form of English, with an accent that could simply be described as Greek that had a tendency to squawk. "You're with me, and..."

Bad luck. The transponder was receiving no signal.

"It seems we're on our own, then. Come on, we have to move. Somewhere."

Torleth may sound like a professional now, but he's actually quite terrified at the moment. Just a master of masking just what is really going on...

"Emery" Ivanovna

Emery suddenly found herself falling to the ground with a thud. In the unexpected teleportation to God knows where, the Martian girl lost her footing, apparently from no paying attention and looking through her camera helmet. Sometimes, the recording apparatus afforded her little depth perception so she had to watch where she was going.

Emery grunted as she slowly got up from the jungle floor and brushed herself off. Before she could ask what happened, Emery was in shock by the dark jungle around her. It was certainly not where they were a moment ago. The entire terrain changed in an Instant, masked by a blinding light. Hopefully, Emery's camera record- THE CAMERA!!

Emery was thrown into a complete panic as she realized the display over her right eye was black. " Nononononono..." She muttered to herself as she quickly pressed some buttons on her forearm. To her relief, her recording apparatus turned back on and she ran some diagnostic tests on it. It seemd to still be fully functioning, from the recording, to data storage, to the mics. Everything was perfectly running again.

" sigh...thank goodness. I'd be in deep trouble if I lost all the data. What ever happened seemed to have disrupted the power core temporarily. By the way...what...exactly happened just then?" Emery said as she looked to the Jokari, zooming in on the Avian's face.

Torleth Maskren
The Jungle, face to face with the press

" sigh...thank goodness. I'd be in deep trouble if I lost all the data. What ever happened seemed to have disrupted the power core temporarily. By the way...what...exactly happened just then?" Emery said as she looked to the Jokari, zooming in on the Avian's face.

"My guess?" Torleth levelled his purple eyes towards that of the Martian woman, hitting her with a gaze that could pierce right through starship armor. "We have been teleported, somehow. The last place we were in was the ruin, and I believe that we tripped something there to cause us to be sent here."

The Jokari marine shuddered, as the tales of his people were innumerable and strange in their tellings. "Teleportation technology of such precision has yet to be documented amongst any of the known galaxies in either the Milky Way or the Andromeda... though some of our Sorcerers could cross the fabric of space. This, however, is certainly not the work of one of them. Not in this side of the wormhole. None of the Order have even bothered crossing into Sol with the rest of us... so my best estimation is that there was a teleportation grid in the ruin. Anyway..."

Torleth pointed towards what looked like to a path through the forest, though it was pretty rough and barely defined. "We should get going."

Sergeant Dante Lopez, Unknown Facility.

A bright burning white light invaded his eyes as Dante came to his full senses, catching his breath midway as if he had been drowning and yet he was laying down on a cold metal like floor as he awoke from whatever it was that had knocked him out. He couldn't remember anything other than being in the shuttle down towards an uncharted planet, a light coming through his gaze and now waking up here in an unknown place as he tried to regain his sight slowly, closing his eyes hard and rubbing his fingers trying to come to full scope. Little by little he could see a bit of the place that he was in, he took in a deep breath as he stood up and immediately felt a suffocating breath, the air was moist and invasive for a couple of seconds but the combat engineer quickly got used to it as he surveyed his surroundings with curiosity, the whiteness of the light before causing him to squint his eyes as he struggled to make out the area.

"What the hell happened... Where am I?" Dante asked to no one in particular, one hand on his holster and the other still trying to rub his eyes clean from the tears of struggle. He could finally look around him and was shocked at finding himself in a large installation of some sort, filled with machinations and devices of unknown use, there was dimly lit blueish sources of light around the walls and the room seemed to go in an circle like rotation all concentrated around some kind of core at the center of the room. The machine manifested a weak sputtering hologram around a blue sphere of unknown nature to Dante, he maintained his distance mostly out of fear but also with fascination at the place, what kind of secrets it could hold and if this was some kind of unknown Command outpost, could be Federation though it was not of their particular design. Whatever it was this place, Dante knew the others had to be here as well and he hoped to find them.

Fortunately for the engineer, he was not alone, at least not entirely as he could hear noise coming from across the rotunda, moving sideways cautiously to get a better look Dante saw none other than the Gordmam android CA1-10 standing at the other side of the site, seemingly analyzing and computing its circumstances. At least that's what Dante figure that CA1 was doing, he never quite understood these new Gordman models, the UNS was always bringing new updated androids at a rate faster than it was to learn their full potential, everyone scrambled to get the next contract.

"Hey, you..." He struggled to find a proper word to address the robot, "CAL," suddenly sprung from Dante's mouth, he was not about to include the 1.

"You've seen any of the others, we alone here?"

Cal, Unknown Facility

Cal continued his search, and as far as his plethora of sensors could tell, there was nothing that could cause him harm present. But a noise from the other side of the massive room he had entered caused him to reevaluate. It turned out to be nothing harmful.

"Hey, you..." He struggled to find a proper word to address the robot, "CAL," suddenly sprung from Dante's mouth, he was not about to include the 1.

"You've seen any of the others, we alone here?"

"Ah, Sergeant Lopez. It is a good thing you are here. You are the first of the crew I have seen other than me, and luckily I have no reason to believe there is any danger to us. But that device..." Cal pointed at the flickering hologram and the machine projecting it. "...It could help us ascertain the reason we have been brought here."

Sergeant Dante Lopez, Unknown Facility.

"No danger huh?" the sergeant spoke lowly to himself as he scanned around him curiously, he maintained his distance with the android, he didn't quite to get too close to such machines as they always seemed to be one step close to breaking your neck. Not that CAL would do such a thing but there was something uncanny to his type of model, something that would make one's skin crawl at the concept itself of a machine that behaved and looked quite humanoid yet wasn't at all. It was a weird pet peeve considering how much technology had advanced and perhaps Dante was a mere dumb farmer boy from Titan so perhaps CAL's presence wouldn't be such trouble to anyone else, if anything probably a relief. Dante for his part hoped CAL wouldn't be the only crew "member" he'd encounter here.

"You may be right, as far as I can see there's some kind of energy source at the center, could be some kind of generator... Like a fusion reactor or perhaps it's the terminal to control whatever this place is..." Dante said with an unsure tone, one hand on his holster still as he scratched his head puzzled at what they could do. For his part he wasn't quite sure about approaching the device at all, he didn't want to get fried or worse, it was then that he glanced at CAL, an idea springing.

"Say... Could you maybe approach it, scan it or maybe try and hook into it?"

As Torleth finished talking, Emery quickly reached into her bag. She pulled out a small cylindrical audio device from within. She put it close to her mouth and pressed the button on the side. " Note to self: Interview Torleth Maskren about Jokari Sorcerers. Maybe a piece on Jokari religious magical practices and rituals. Do people still believe in magic though? I don't know, something about Jokari."

After Emery's ramblings, she put the device back in her bag. She looked around their jungle surroundings and found that they were alone. No one else from their expedition was anywhere to be seen. Not Cal, not Sgt. Lopez, no one.

" Wait, where's Cal and the others? Did they jump with us?" Emery asked, stepping closer to Torleth.

"Hell if I know," Torleth shrugged as he turned around to help the reporter get down a log that they had climbed on the beaten forest path. "Maybe they did teleport, maybe they did not. If they tripped into whatever kind of trap that we stepped on, they didnt get sent to the same place as we were... as we can clearly see."

The Jokari put up the scope over his eyes, spying what look liked to be a pretty derelict facility in the distance. It was greying and old, but it offered shelter in this unknown world. "We'll go that way, maybe there's someone alive in there. At the very least it will be shelter."

As they walked on, Torleth kept looking back and forth from Emery, and the path that were taking. "So, if heard a bit of your. eh, rambling. I actually don't know much of the psykers of my people. I was born on Sol, you see, and I've never set foot in Grand Jokarium or anywhere in the Andromeda, so I haven't seen one of them in action. My elders tell me a lot of things though, about how they could give the fabric of space and time the middle finger and blast things with lightning. Overall not a bunch anyone should mess with. "I do sense active components within the structure, it could very well be the central control of this facility."

"Say... Could you maybe approach it, scan it or maybe try and hook into it?"

"Yes, I shall do that now."

Although Cal had ascertained the lack of danger before, he was still not sure what would happen if he hooked himself into the machine. So as he approached the device projecting the hologram, he intensified his scan for anything that could harm himself or Sergeant Lopez. He found some sort of port near the center of a panel on the machine, and his universal connector projected out of his arm, attaching to the terminal.

A mere second after connecting, Cal's servomotors abruptly locked, causing him to fall to the ground with a loud CLANG. Although he was still connected to the terminal, his synthetic eyes were closed and he was completely still.

Jaden Vale
Unknown Facility

It has been about twenty minutes since Jaden has come to this place, still no sign of anyone. Human or not, alive or dead. Nothing but broken tech and exposed wires. Along with dimly lit corridors. He did find some rooms, but nothing that he could tell in there was working or worth going into. Still, he was on his guard, who knows what is down here, just waiting to pounce on him and eat his guts or something. A worrying thought that while finding a wild animal in a metal facility seems like a stretch and he knows it. Probably going to face a robot of some kind before meeting an animal but either way. Jaden's guard remains up as he tries to find anyone and a way out of this place.

Then he found something, Jaden stopped in place when it and while he finally found something. He did not like it, he had found his animal as he slowly moved towards it. Mainly looking around and behind him just in case. It was dead, that much was clear to him when he reached the animal's corpse. If the smell was not an indicator but, it being dead was not the thing that he did not like. Two things, in fact, one, it looked like it was eaten rather than just killed, and the corpse looked somewhat fresh. Meaning that whatever killed it was still around somewhere, and it did mean that he does have to worry about something eating his guys. Two was that it looked off. Like an arm growing out of his head off, actually when he looked at it more. It might have been a leg, and it had mismatched fur, but still. Maybe because it is an alien creature and because it was clearly eaten that it looks that way? Almost asking himself since no one else was around. Either way, this thing looked off, and Jaden left and went right, away from the corpse.

At least he knows now that he is not alone down here, and he hopes that his teammates are faring better than he is. And not in the stomach of some creature. "Where are you guys?" Saying it almost a whisper, "Please tell me I am not alone down here and that you guys are all right." Then piercing roar erupted from behind him. Jaden turned quickly behind him and found nothing but air and metal. Waiting a few moments to see if the thing that made that roar was coming, and for the moment, it looked clear. "I better not stick around and get out of here." Again saying it almost like a whisper, and with that, he moved away from the roar and further into the facility. Hoping not to find whatever made that roar and find someone, preferably alive, in this place.

"Ah crap... Now what!?" Lopez asked to himself as he was unsure of what to do. He scanned around the facility once more, his eyes concentrated on the now even more lit up beacon at the center of the room and then down to the collapsed CAL. He hoped that he hadn't just caused his only companion to have an internal meltdown.

I could still scavenge some of the parts and maybe make a small explosive, bomb my way out of here? Lopez's mind rambled for a second before he finally heard new sounds coming from another side of the area.

A sudden roaring sound began to encompass the entire room which caused Lopez's eyes to widened and him to pull out his carbine from his back, racking the charging handle he looked around himself trying to find what was causing the noisy as it grew louder and creepier. Suddenly a door slid open from the other side of the room causing Lopez's heart to race as he approached cautiously with his weapon drawn and activating the flashlight at the front. Carefully and keeping a decent space between himself and the door Lopez peaked out into the dark and gloomy metal corridor, he could dimly see someone or something running far ahead, he was unsure what to do, either to fire his weapon, confirm if it was another lost crewmate or perhaps find a way to close the door fast. Another loud roar echoing from the hallway pressed Lopez to attempt the latter as Lopez kept his weapon up with one hand and the other desperate tried to find any terminal or button that would close the door as he heard steps fast approaching.

It was then that in the blink of an eye Lopez saw the incoming figure of a fellow human, Jaden Vale. He didn't know the man well but it wasn't a rabid alien out to kill him and that was enough for him to think twice before either closing the door on him or opening fire.

"Vale?" Lopez said confuddle, "What are you running fr-" it seemed Vale had no time to answer as he merely leaped into room, past Lopez who was still unsure of what was going on as he quickly glanced back and then forward at the hallway to see a large creature with multiple limbs sticking out of its body, horned head with grey sickly skin and a beak-like mouth with a reddish tongue and several sharp teeth fast approaching.

"Holy!!!" Lopez shouted as he fixed his carbine and unloaded on the creature, one blast was followed by another and another and then an entire volley of fast firing energy bolts which caused the creature to first squirm and then shriek in anger as it continued to approach. On his part, Lopez continued to fire as the creature took in dozens of shots, skin charred and bloodied as it desperately continue to approach the opened doorway and Lopez desperately wanted to kill it before it did so.

"SOMEONE CLOSE THIS FUCKING DOOR!" He yelled out as he continued to fire.

Emery followed Torleth through the jungle towards the abandoned building. Looking though her camera, she scanned her surroundings. The reporter didn't have a weapon of any kind so if something was to attack them, there would be nothing she could do. This realization caused her some anxiety as most of the security team for the expedition was missing. Still, she pressed on behind the Jokari.

Emery's camera apparatus zoomed in on Torleth as he talked, obeying the commands of the operating device on her wrist. " I know this is kind of personal, but how is life as a Jokari outside of Grand Jokarium? Do you face any discrimination in your daily life? I'm sorry, but this is for documentation."

Eilonwy Prydain

Postby Puranas » Sun Apr 03, 2022 2:56 pm

Unexplored Planet - Surface Ruins - Andromeda Galaxy

Eilonwy Prydain ran her hand along the smooth stone of the fallen buttress. The unfamiliar material wasn’t a mixture she recognized, but scans had shown it as an eclectic mix of various types of rock which naturally shouldn’t be combined like this.

“Sorry, ma’am,” the Dalta looked up as a Kiel in a heavily customized Command uniform approached, “Cap appreciates your help with looking around, but we ain’t a survey ship. Shuttle’s being prepped for launch….and Skrim issues are expected to be fixed by time we’re back aboard.”

Eilonwy sighed, half in frustration. If not for their Skrim drive overheating, they wouldn’t have stumbled upon this find. Still, she had hired this crew to ferry her to Beachhead Station, so she was lucky the privateer’s captain was interested enough to send the shuttle down to take a short look around…especially as it kept so many out of the engineers’ hair.

“Thanks for letting me know, Indal,” she addressed the young man, his trio of brightly colored mohawks easily identifiable from a distance, “I’ll stay here and get some final readings. Let me know when Vunger is ready to take off.”

Indal nodded before pivoting smoothly and sauntering off towards the nearby camp site. Eilonwy rolled her eyes and smirked - though old friends, those two Kiel loved poking each other’s buttons. Of late, Indal’s hair versus Vunger’s lack of it had become the core of the ship’s entertainment the past few days.

“Yo, Vun-,” Eilonwy never got to hear the rest of how Indal was going to tease Vunger as her senses were overloaded by some kind of burst of energy.

Location Unknown - Jungle

“Ugh…”

Leaf litter rustled as Eilonwy roused. Pinching the bridge of her nose thanks to a splitting headache, she reached up with her free hand and pulled herself up to a sitting position, ignoring the detritus falling off her. The Dalta barely was upright for a second before falling to her hands and knees to empty her stomach.

“Feels like I got turned inside out several times,” she groaned, wiping her mouth and blinking rapidly.

Using a branch to pull herself onto unsteady feet, Eilonwy began taking stock of what she had in her possession while keeping an awareness on her surroundings.

"SOMEONE CLOSE THIS FUCKING DOOR!" He yelled out as he continued to fire.

As if responding to the Sergeant, the door slammed shut with the creature loudly crashing against the metal with a furious screech. The chamber, albeit slowly, began to light up with a soft blue glow.

"Sergeant Lopez, Corporal Vale, I have been able to gain rudimentary control of the facility. I am still unsure of what that entity is, but I assume that we should go in the opposite direction."

The glow stopped abruptly as Cal sat back up, his eyes snapping back open.

"I was not able to gain access to the full facility map. However, since we seem to be underground, I believe that going upwards is the best course of action," he calmly stated while pointing towards a doorway leading to a ramp. Cal unplugged himself from the terminal with some difficulty due to the banging of the creature against the door, and stood back up.

Torleth Maskren
The Jungle

Emery's camera apparatus zoomed in on Torleth as he talked, obeying the commands of the operating device on her wrist. " I know this is kind of personal, but how is life as a Jokari outside of Grand Jokarium? Do you face any discrimination in your daily life? I'm sorry, but this is for documentation."

Torleth didn't seem to mind the question too much, as he paused for a while to scan their surroundings with the scope of his blaster rifle before looking back at Emery. "Quite a bit of it, actually. When I was younger I didn't experience getting picked on by the other races because they mostly left us alone in our little corner of the station, though once I came out and began interacting more with wider society, that ugly reality went right up at my face."

The Jokari sighed. "Grand Jokarium willfully pumps out propaganda that we are dangerous psykers should someone get into our wrong side. Like, I get that my people are paranoid and fearful of foreign domination once again, but the government is doing us Targani any favours by doing so. Targani, as in the... uh, Jokari that have migrated to the Milky Way. They call us the Departed, for some reason. Anyway, I'm just glad we're away from the chaos of the Andromeda galaxy. Everything's a bit calmer here in the other side..."

Using a branch to pull herself onto unsteady feet, Eilonwy began taking stock of what she had in her possession while keeping an awareness on her surroundings.

The sound of rustling leaves caused Torleth to swivel around and point his gun at the source of the noise, which happened to be someone he had never seen before. She was a... Delta, or something. He could barely remember.

"The plot thickens," Torleth muttered to himself as he pointed the weapon at the newcomer, an audible clock coming from the gun. "Who are you? Where do you come from? Identify yourself!"

"The plot thickens," Torleth muttered to himself as he pointed the weapon at the newcomer, an audible click coming from the gun. "Who are you? Where do you come from? Identify yourself!"

Blinking slowly, the motion as Eilonwy brought her gaze around to the source of the voice almost making her want to throw up again…almost. Her eyes still adjusting to the much brighter jungle, it took a few seconds before she could start to make out the form of the Jokari soldier. Luckily, as a Dalta, she wasn’t restricted to sight alone, even through her ringing headache.

“Isn’t it common courtesy to introduce yourself first before demanding the identity of another?” she remarked dryly, “Of all I learned of Jokari, pointing a weapon was not a form of greeting I uncovered in my studies.”

She rubbed her temple. In spite of her throbbing head, Eilonwy wanted to conserve her resources and was avoiding taking any kind of pain reliever. As is, she didn’t know if she would be able to restock at any point, so wanted to preserve as much of her kit unless absolutely needed.

“Also,” here her voice changed to a more polite tone, “would you mind speaking a tad softer? That space-warp has given me the headache to end all headaches.”

Still on wobbly legs and using the tree trunk to support her weight, it would be hard to classify Eilonwy as a threat. Still, her holstered sidearm would be hard to miss. Closing her eyes, the Dalta focused through the slowly fading pain in her head on the figures as her other senses were showing them.

“Eilonwy Prydain,” she finally said after reaching a point she wasn’t as reliant on the tree to stay upright.

Taking two steps forward, she neatly avoided being hit by bird droppings that splattered where she had stood but a moment previously.

“So,” she only now reopened her eyes, both much clearer, “you can either waste your ammo shooting me or we can figure out where….here,” even as she gestured with her hands to indicate their surroundings, her gaze was evenly cast upon the weapon in the Jokari’s hands, “even is,” a slight twitch to her brow as she fought what was left of the headache, “I was on my way to Beachhead Station when we found ruins. Woke up there,” she tilted her head towards the divot in the leaf litter she had been partially buried in.

Jaden Vale
Unknown Facility

Jaden took a moment to gather his breath and briefing looking back at the closed door before addressing the Lopez and Cal. "Sergeant, Cal, I am glad to see you two. I did not know if I was alone down here." A loud bang against the locked door rang out again. "Well, not entirely alone down here, and unfortunately, there is more. I think I found that thing's lunch and I am guessing that there are more of these things down here. "But, have you two found anyone else or managed to contact anyone? I tried earlier and only got static and....."

Another loud bang at the door and a short roar interrupted him. "Okay, maybe we should talk about that while we get out of this place." Jaden looked back at the door, and he went slightly wide as he could see a small dent in the door. "Yeah talk and move sounds better and I guess lead the way Cal." Jaden turning to look at Dante. "Or what is your order, sir?"

Emery Ivanovna

Hearing the swig snap, Emery immediately ducked back behind Torleth. Since she was unarmed there was no way she could put up a fight against whatever creature would attack them. She was effectively at the mercy of any savage beast in this forsaken jungle. Emery was thankful to have Torleth to defend her.

Once at Torleth's back, Emery focused her camera on the creature that was attacking, hoping to document it before they either killed it or it killed them. Much to her surprise, it was some horrid creature, but an unknown humanoid woman. Emery could not recall what species the woman was, but she seemed harmless.

Emery listened to the woman answer Torleth's questions, making g sure to record them for future reference. Coming out from behind Torleth who seemed to have relax a bit, Emery decide to ask her own questions all the while zooming in on the woman's face. " What business did you have at Beachhead Station, Ms. Prydain?"

Prydain?"

The Dalta blinked rapidly, her two-toned eyes blinded by the camera’s light and that wasn’t doing anything to help her headache. Eventually she just gave up and closed them again, doing her best to ignore the bit filtering through her lids. Sensing the woman through other means, Eilonwy was more focused on trying to place her species than actually answering the question.

“Is there any other reason for people to go there?” she cryptically responded to the question with one of her own, “I do recommend we move away from here before the smell attracts anything bigger,” as they had spoken, the buzzing of various insects that had descended on the pool of vomit was growing louder by the second and Eilonwy was sensing bigger things, wary of the trio, waiting in the brush.

Eilonwy turned so the light wasn’t in her eyes as much to face more towards the Jokari, ignoring that the other woman had also apparently decided not to introduce herself either, and opened her eyes again. Though now dealing with after images in her vision until her retina recovered, she again studied and watched what he did with the rifle carefully. She didn’t know these people, and they didn’t know her; Eilonwy was ever conscientious of the risk she still might be shot.

“If it makes you more comfortable,” she told the avian through a practiced even tone, “I can take the lead so you don’t have to worry about me doing anything to your back. As you can see,” she hefted her arms to intentionally emphasize the non-combat nature of her clothing, “I’m not exactly going to be match of a match if I was hostile.”

Even as she negotiated for her safety, part of Eilonwy’s brain was chewing everything she knew and making the best educated guesswork she could. While she recognized the Jokari, the other woman was escaping her….though the stress of the space warp and having a rifle pointed at her was admittedly not putting at the top of her game.

Torleth Maskren
In the Jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight...

“I can take the lead so you don’t have to worry about me doing anything to your back. As you can see,” she hefted her arms to intentionally emphasize the non-combat nature of her clothing, “I’m not exactly going to be match of a match if I was hostile.”

"Whatever." Torleth responded as he shouldered the blaster rifle, showing that he didn't think that the Dalta was an eldritch creature that wanted to eat their eyes and ffer their hearts as sacrifices to the dark gods. Or something like that. She was just that. A Dalta that vomited on the forest floor, teleported here just like the rest of them. How unfortunate.

"The name is Torleth Maskren, then," the Jokari said while the group as a whole resumed its walk towards the strange building in the not-so-distant place. "United Nations Marine Corps. Jokari of the Targani Clans."

It would take them some time, but the building was within shooting distance. It looked quite on the par for ruins on an alien planet, though it seemed like that it had a rather spartan design. Almost human, perhaps.

"By the twin gods," Torleth muttered, "If only I was a Sorcerer, then this would all be easier."

Collab between Theyra, Arengin Union, and The African Emirates

His weapon still aiming at the door as the loud banging became ever more destructive, Lopez took only a few seconds to consider what to do as he glanced at Vale and then back to the back online Cal. He felt his heart race as he knew that his weapon would do little against that thing and he wanted to get as much space he could between it and them.

"Right. We'll follow the android... Let's get going. Cal, you're on point!"

"Yes sergeant. This way, then."

Cal proceeded towards the slope at a light jog, looking behind him to make sure that the two humans were following. The creature that he had locked out from the room could possibly do damage to his structure, but would surely kill his organic crewmates. Cal couldn't feel things like "brotherhood" and "comradery", but he had a sense of duty to protect those that were on the Endeavor with him as best as possible.

As time passed, Cal's internals slowly began to return to normal function after such an abrupt shutdown. His internal LIDAR and RADAR senses were back up, but he didn't like what he saw. Nearly at the end of his range, he saw the door he had locked deforming, and the...thing...behind it as furious as before.

"Sergeant Lopez, Corporal Vale, the creature is almost through the door. I recommend moving at a somewhat faster pace if we are to remain in safety."

"Right," was all that came from the sergeant as he rushed to follow behind the android. No longer with his weapon fixed cautiously at the door as the priority was to get to a safer place and then to higher ground.

"Let's move Corporal, Cal we're behind you, get us to higher ground asap" the sergeant would say as he now had his weapon at the front and scanning everywhere around him and his companions.

Jaden was close behind the sergeant and taking up the rear. Now focused on following Cal and getting out of this place. His weapon now in front like Dante. Scanning for possible targets that might show up.

Then the group ended up at a dimly lit three way crossroads. The notable thing about the crossroads was that on the walls what looked like medium sized claw marks and what looked like alien markings on the above each of the corridors.

And Jaden could see when he scanned the left corridor with his scope was what looked like movement. Just beyond the range of his flashlight and so far he could not hear anything yet. Jaden then spoke to the group as low as he can but Dante and Cal could still hear him. "I think I saw something down that corridor." Pointing with his rifle towards the left corridor. "We might have company and will if we go down that corridor."

Racking his weapon with a new power cell, Sergeant Lopez fixed his carbine to the front and at the side of their robot companion. He knew that going back was suicide and so far it seemed that the corridor in front was the only thing leading to higher ground and hopefully out of this godforsaken place.

"We have no choice, we need to keep forward. Vale cover our six, Cal light mode on. We move at the same time and shoot at anything not human!"

The group moved in cohesion, slow steps soon became a set of fast jogs as the light from Cal and the two Marines weapons kept a somewhat lit up perimeter around the group. For now there was nothing attacking but Dante could feel his heart racing as the group moved deeper into the darkened corridor.

"How much farther Cal?!"

The group, at Jaden's suggestion, took the right corridor, with light from Cal illuminating the way. Cal's LIDAR couldn't reach that far, but from what they had seen before, anything living in this structure would want them dead. Then, a gap in Cal's sensors showed up, and a gap meant a way out.

"This way, I may have found our escape route."

Cal quickly estimated the distance, shouting out, "Around 100 meters until we reach what should be a door to the exterior of this structure."

His suspicions were confirmed when his short-range heat sensors indicated a heat source, perhaps a sun, up ahead where the LIDAR had indicated a gap.

We may be escaping after all, Cal thought, but just as 50 meters were left, a crash and an earsplitting screech sounded out behind them.

Jaden turned his head back towards the sound of the screech for a moment and before turning to back to the others. "I believe that is our cue to leave!"

Then Jaden noticed movement, another creatures started to show in his lights. But they were not attacking them, instead they were turning tail and running from what ever made that sound.

"I think we should book it like everything else!"

"Agreed, keep moving!" Was all Lopez said as he and the others began to quickly hastle forward in the direction away from the screeches.

As the trio continued onwards the sounds of the incoming monstrosity that seemed to be impenetrable to laser fire seemed to be dead set on devouring them. Lopez felt his heart race even more as he and the others were just a bit further from the door supposedly leading out. He could feel sweat coming down his brow as he kept his weapon raised and quickly turned it back as the doors were fast approaching. The horrific sounds of the beast only grew louder as the three crew members stepped back and finally the door was right behind them. What seemed to be their hopeful way out turned into a trap as the door blinked with red lights in an apparent display of locking up and not allowing the trio a way out.

Lopez immediately deploying a flare from his belt and tossing it back into the darkened corridor as he aimed his weapon, finger gently on the trigger. He could feel a tingling sensation on his neck, most likely fear but also resolve not to die in this place.

The sergeant motioned Jaden to raise his weapon aswell as he then spoke to Cal.

"Can you get the door opened?"

"Yes, although we do not have enough time to cut the door open, and my plasma gun is not powerful enough to cut through this alloy. I shall have to use percussive force."

Cal stood in front of the door, locking most of his servomotors as to not cause them too much damage, then slammed his hands against the door.

BOOM.

He tried again. The door was moving slightly, but something was getting closer and closer to them according to Cal's infrared sensors.

BOOM.

They did not have much time. Cal quickly removed the safety restrictions on his joints. It would take a toll on his mechanical body, but the immediate safety of himself and his crewmates came first.

CLANG.

The door flew off of its hinges. Despite being so strong, the door itself was fairly light. As the three of them burst into a setting not dissimilar to a jungle, the awful sounds continued echoing from the structure.

"We must continue putting distance between ourselves and whatever is behind us."

Cal continued on his way, his servomotors slightly squeaking due to the recent stress put on them.

Jaden kept his eyes, behind them. Watching for a sign of that thing that was chasing them. Only to shift his gaze when he heard the door being flew out its hinges.

"Remind me to never piss you off Cal." Without any word, Jaden quickly moving towards the opening and had to cover his eyes from the sudden light for a moment. Waiting for his eyes to adjust to the light before getting a good look of where he was.

"A jungle?" Jaden curious but, quickly remembered that there was something every bad behind them. Turning to face the sergeant, "we got to move now and loose that thing." About to run as he waited for Dante.

While Cal and Jaden were surprised by the sudden change of landscape Dante had already scanned the surroundings with concern over more hostiles. He hadn't detected anymore but one could never be too sure as he kept his finger near the trigger of his weapon. Finally his earpiece began to pick up signals and it seemed that perhaps they were not so alone.

"Agreed," the sergeant answered to Jaden's advice as he sprinted to them, "we've got to get to higher ground, Cal can you run a topographic scour of the area?"

"There may be more members of the crew out there, watch your fire!"

Eilonwy raised an eyebrow at the Jokari’s gruffness, but nodded her head in acknowledgement of his introduction.

“You’ll have to forgive me,” she replied while holding back a branch until the other woman had passed, “but news was but a trickle. This….’United Nations’ was formed when? None of the warlords in the alliance back home seem to have joined….then again,” she shrugged, “they are still some of the more decent Keilar. Was rather colorful light show watching them drive off the more opportunistic groups growing up,” the young Dalta concluded with a light chuckle.

She paused, sensing something.

“There are some rather….large creatures moving through this forest,” she announced to the group, “but nothing close enough to us - yet - that I can make out more than roughly that.”

Jaden Vale
Jungle

As Jaden and the group moved further and further away from the underground base door and from the mutant that was pursuing them. They ended up on a hill and it was here that Jaden chose to stop. Catching his breath as he turned back to see if the mutant was still after them. It was hard to see through the jungle foliage but, he could not see anything behind them. He could not hear its roar or anything and he could not hear any sign that they were being chased. "Maybe... I think we lost it. Whatever that thing was." Jaden sounding relieved but, still was somewhat cautious just in case.

Now free from their pursuer, Jaden took the time to get a sense of their new location. There were in a jungle, no mistake about it and it was full of life. Based on the sounds of wildlife he could hear and from what he can tell. The sun was lower in the sky, so past noon but not near night yet but, something to remember. Jaden started looking around for any sign of civilization and to his west. Jaden could see what looked like a base or outpost of some kind. Okay, so maybe a place where we can rest and figure things out I guess, he thought. Then a thought came to him. Could the rest of the away team be out there? He did notice when they got topside and out of that facility. That his comms was clear now so he might be able to contact someone now.

"Well, here goes nothing," Jaden said as got on his comms and spoke. "Hello this is Corporal Vale of the Endeavor away team, is there anyone of the away team there please respond? I am with Sergeant Lopez and Cal and I repeat is there anyone there? Waiting patiently for a sign of others.

The message can be heard by members of the Endeavor away team's radio and can respond to Jaden if they wished.
