Setting and rules:
New locations will have an introduction posted by me, as well as an overview of the weather, the key sights and, if applicable, a menu.
If there is anything you're wanting at said location or another (sub-locations, particular food, as long as it isn't too outlandish, I will allow you to post.
The expectation is that this will be a formal but mostly friendly RP. Diplomacy may occur, but it is all to be done mostly unofficially, save for if anything is agreed to be discussed later.
There will be NO MILITARY ACTIONS other than the military parades hosted by Hagaodou. NO VIOLENCE, ESPIONAGE OR WARFARE. Military officials attending as dignitaries of state are allowed.
I'm expecting that if any particular event is very interesting to roleplay, by popular consensus, we can roleplay it a bit longer than others. However, the events schedule should be roughly kept to. I will also post a timestamp for each of my establishing posts.
There is no obligation to attend every single event. Your character(s) could return to their accommodation, or explore the city, or something else entirely.
I will RP all major Hagaodic characters (the Royal Family, members of the government etc.), but if there are any minor characters you want to interact with (serving staff, drivers, or similar), for ease of posting, you may write for them.
If there is any lore you want/need, ask and I shall provide.
Please remember to interact with other guests too, not just my characters. Makes everything more fun for everyone.
I will post the IC on Fri 28/Sat 29, and will then turn this into a semi-closed RP.

Short bio:
His Lordship is a member of the native population of Alcona's Great Isle, referred to as the 'People' (or the Tanpoble in their native language). Unlike most of his race, he joined the Navy upon entering school (most stay in the militia and do not venture far from their homes in the high vales of the Great Isle.) He became a professional Navy officer and continued to work his way up the command track in the Navy's small professional officer corps. Upon the massive expansion of the Navy, due to increasing tensions with Dyelli Beybi's communist government, he was breveted to vice admiral where he led an Alconian task force in World Court Crisis; where successfully enabled both the Alconian fleet to support their allies Vrak in protecting the court from outside interference. During this time period, Sir Ozzy was then appointed to lead newly formed the Squal Straits Squadron which intervened in several Klatchian conflicts including the New Shiron incident. He also led many of the expansion forces that brought the chaotic Eastern Marches, Western Marches, and Cawahaba into the United Duchies. Upon formation of the Olympic fleet by the Federated Klatchian Coast Government, he was appointed to command the fleet and prevent Vaadian interference in internal FKC matters. During the Alconian succession crisis, Sir Ozzy was made Naval Marshal of the United Duchies until he was forced to resign by the Regent Lord Vaad. I have been asked by the Outer Minister, Miss Brown, to represent her Grace, Emily Wittlebach Crawford, Grand Duchess of Alcona and Hubris, to the royal house of Elouan at this time of celebration to better strengthen the ties of the United Duchies with other Constitutional Monarchies across the globe.

Do you have any special requirements for the events?
1) My doctor has advised that I stay away from tofu and other dishes with a high level of non-meat protein.
2) Also, a driver, if we need to travel any long distances from our accommodations to the various events, unless you want me to drive...and I find anything without a mechanical clutch annoying...I learned to drive with a Model A.
3) Note my armsmans formal, and informal dress, incorporates a ceremonial bastard sword. I hope that this will not present a problem but we are Klatchian's after all.

In regards to your provided note upon my husband's needs for attendance at the Coronation,

1) - Please make sure he does eat his vegetables, but a serving of meat, fowl, fish or shellfish will meet his doctor's instructions.

2) - Yes, the plan of providing a driver who knows the localities will be best. However do you have a driver capable of handling a Merlin Duesenberg? My husband been eyeing his ever since you mentioned his own transportation, but there are very few young people who are used to driving such powerful engines without power steering.

3) - Very good, Alconian armsmen get so out of sort, even when a woman, when they don't have their blade on them.

Unfortunately, I will myself still be unable to attend since the project I am on requires my presence in the Eastern Marches. But please convey my best wishes to his Majesty on his upcoming reign. As well as yourselves for a smooth running Coronation.

Instead of taking photographs, Thiranuodh aristocrats still cling to having marble busts of themselves made. They do so every few years, frequently to mark special occasions, such as the dates of grand achievements of their illustrious forebears, their own birthdays, or personal triumphs, be they in science, diplomacy or war.

The Marquess, known for his striking grey eyes, crooked nose and fierce facial hair, used to once sport grand locks of auburn hair. These locks have given way to a stern, spacious forehead, which has, in the last few years, grown a number of deep, fleshy wrinkles. Beneath his forehead, which itself is surrounded by faint hairs of red and grey like a wreath of bronze and silver, stands his colossal brow, which shines in an illuminating red, accentuating his stark grey eyes.

Short bio: Whilst escorting her husband during anti-partisan activities in the Thiranuodh bush, the marquise Ængáūsbœrdhè Þnir'Tynnàighshо̄aþ unexpectedly gave premature birth to a son. Her husband, an aristocrat who had amassed great wealth and worked himself up to the highest echelons of Thiranuodh noble society, welcomed his second son and fourth-born child with open arms, naming him Ruòþærrôghèkh after his maternal uncle. The boy, originally destined to serve in the military, was raised in a loving yet strict manner, but shortly before he was sent off to enlist at the age of sixteen, the boy’s elder brother died, rendering him the new heir apparent to his father’s marquessate. He adopted his dead brother’s title as the viscount Huо̄ghællþèraiþ at a very young age, and would now have to struggle with a host of expectations and duties that were previously foreign to him. Due to his brother's tragic passing, as well as the drastic changes that were thrust upon young Ruòþærrôghèkh, he found it increasingly difficult to live up to his expectations. During his tumultuous time as heir apparent to his father's marquessate, rumours among the folk living on his estates told a tale of a savage assassination orchestrated by the young Ruòþærrôghèkh, who allegedly killed his brother to usurp power and increase his standing in the realm. The boy, inexperienced in all statecraft and diplomacy, chose the sword instead. He swiftly formed a militia of loyal frontiersmen, rich farmers and a handful of patriotic students and minor noblemen to suppress the rumours. When the first sparks flew and the peasantry began to bleed, his father didn't hesitate a second to put a stop to it, and forced his son to disband his illegal war band, lest the diarchy or priestly class step in. After these rather bloody and embarrassing affairs, the viscount Huо̄ghællþèraiþ retired to a more scholarly life, where he studied law and governance at a far-away urban university, joining a covenant, a fraternity dedicated to the preservation of national values, the defence of Thiranaedh, and the worship of all kinds of secretive deities of the extensive Thiranuodh pantheon. During his time there, he set up invaluable connections to the sons of influential media magnates, other aristocrats, future members of the intelligentsia, and countless other young men with comparable beliefs, aspirations, ambition and potential.

After finishing his education there, the viscount returned to co-manage his father's land, doing so until he died around ten years after his eldest son graduated. When he did so, Ruòþærrôghèkh seized the reins and eliminated all potential rivals, ensuring that there would be no coup d'état, and that he could continue managing what were now his domains. Shortly after he returned, he got betrothed to his first wife, Méþaighedh 'tûr-Wælláscéîr, who bore him four sons and a daughter, the latter of whom she never got to hold, as the viscountess died in childbirth, receiving a grand funeral for achieving the highest possible honour for any Thiranuodh woman, namely to perish whilst performing one's maternal duties. He married his second wife, a former mistress of his, approximately 2 months later, and she would go on to give him two daughters, as well as twin sons. She was later ritualistically sacrificed for good fortune in the border war of 'LXXII. His last wife gave him a son and two daughters, the last of whom is Bærrūþàilda. Due to the electoral system of Thiranaedh, which awards a greater number of votes depending on a family's wealth in land, livestock and, critically, its size, Þnir'Tynnàighshо̄aþ's influence is immense, but the chance that this power will get to his hot, militaristic head is increasing by the day. Some of the staff in his employ have begun whispering of his alleged mental instability, strange visions and paranoid-filled superstitions reminiscent of a hookah-smoking covenanter-student.

Spectacles and sunglasses are extremely rare in Thiranaedh, in part because many of its inhabitants find wearing them distasteful. Instead, the blind often cover their eyes with a piece of white cloth, which makes them easy to identify. Aside from the cultural reasons Bærrūþàilda has for wearing this type of dress, it also helps in conceiling the scars she has around her eyes.

Short bio: Bærrūþàilda hails from Tynnàighshо̄aþ manor, a house on her family's estate in Western Thiranaedh which had its sixth centennial just two years ago. Her early childhood was calm and typical for a child of her class and creed, and whilst other children her age starved in squalor, the marquess' daughter was taught to perform Chopin, what cutlery to use for what meals, how to behave in court, and, most importantly, she was taught to obey proper etiquette, as well as her father's word. The privileges she had been afforded, as well as the lavish lifestyle she had enjoyed, made it so that Bærrūþàilda grew up to be quite spoiled, and it wouldn't take long before she developed quite a strong personality. She had a distaste for practical labour and all those who stooped so low to engage in it, and found it notoriously difficult to relate to her countrymen and from the lower classes.

Instead of socialising with the proles, this young Thirana grew very fond of animals, particularly her father's hounds. Péllærþáikh, earl of Khnîædhsuо̄là, a boy her age, son of an influential duke in the old king's court, gifted her her favourite dog for her thirteenth birthday. It was a wee rough collie the girl called Akela, after the famous wolf in Kipling's Jungle Book, a novel she liked to read. Just a little over a year later, her father and brothers would beat the earl of Khnîædhsuо̄là, as well as his family, to death during the election of two new rulers. The marquess' daughter, who spent much of her time reading and writing poetry, praying that her father would let her study literature at one of the nation's premiere universities, found it excruciatingly difficult to accept her handicap, and still struggled with several psychological disorders well after the coronation of the new diarchy.

Living a rather secluded life at court in Tynnàighshо̄aþ Manor, Bærrūþàilda was quite surprised when her father commanded her to come along to Europe with him. She was surprised that he hadn't forced her to become a sworn virgin to one of the many gods of home and hearth down in the countryside, or that he hadn't married her off to some newly-rich bourgeois pig, who had the social grace of a swine and the wits of a wretch, a man whose only interest in her was her surname and her ability to produce offspring that would be entitled to blazon their arms and pretend like the blood of common farmers didn't run through their veins. Instead, she came along to experience the white cliffs of Cornwall and the bright meadows of Brittany, a surprise to the blind marquess' daughter, if a welcome one. No man really understands why Ruòþærrôghèkh picked the child with the least panache and zeal to represent the Divine Mandate abroad, least of all young Bærrūþàilda. She just hopes she'll enjoy herself on the way.
