The North American Forces (Closed, Informative)

Overview of the North American Forces

NAF Factbook

The North American Forces work for a secure and prosperous North American Union with global reach and influence. We will protect our people, territories, values and interests at home and overseas, through strong armed forces and in partnership with allies, to ensure our security, support our national interests and safeguard our prosperity.
Three Overarching Objectives of the North American Forces:
    - Defence of North America itself, from Union territory to United Commonwealth territory to Allied territory on the North American subcontinent and the larger American continent
    - Defence of the United Britannic Commonwealth of Nations in co-operation with other UBCN forces
    - Contributing to broader international security

The Terms of Union 1867 gives the NAU General Government and Parliament the responsibility for national defence and overseas operations, through a range of activities, including the deployment of North American Defence Attachés.

Service Branches of the North American Forces:
    • North American Army
    • Royal North American Navy (includes the Corps of Royal North American Marines)
    • Royal North American Air Force

North American Army: land warfare branch, history begins from the first colonial militias in North America and culminates to the present as an elite fighting arm of His Britannic Majesty’s United Commonwealth Forces. Famous battles of the army include the Battle of New Orleans during the Fifth Imperial War in America, Battle of Broken Arrow and the Battle of Tampico Road during the Anglo-Mexican War, the Battle of the Moravian Gate during the Great Global War, and the Battle of Basra during the 2014 Basra Emergency.

Royal North American Navy: maritime warfare and sealift/sea-based power projection branch, history begins with the first colonial marines (i.e. navies) that served with the British Royal Navy. This includes the Corps of Royal North American Marines, which began with the raising of Gooch’s Marines all the way to the modern expeditionary Marine Commando Regiments. The modern RNAN emerged in the late 19th century with the Union Marine, and later gained Royal designation in the early 20th century. The RNAN is known for its “high-low” mix of ships to have peer-level warfighting ships up against other great powers and smaller vessels to do grey-level littoral combat and smaller-scale operations, and other intermediate warships to cover a wide range of operational engagements.

Royal North American Air Force: rapid global mobility, air supremacy, global ISTAR, global strike, and space force. History begins with the Royal North American Flying Corps in the North American Army and the Royal North American Navy Fleet Air Arm both created in 1918, in tandem with the development of the British air arm counterparts. In 1947, three years after the Great Global War, which showed the potential of air forces in combat, a full Royal North American Air Force was created to be on par with the earlier developed British Royal Air Force.

Defence Staff Committee - an advisory committee to the Prime Minister of the NAU, NAU Minister of Defence, and the Viceroy as Commander-in-Chief in and over North America regarding the use of military forces, composed of the professional heads of the service branches and heads of special functional commands
    Chief of the Defence Staff

Commandant-General of the Corps of Royal North American Marines
    Commander NAF Strategic Command
    Commander NAF Special Operations Command
Senior Advising Non-Commissioned Member to the Defence Staff Committee

North American Forces Council - strategic board of military and civilian leaders of the NAF and NAU Ministry of Defence; they do not offer military advice but do interservice and joint service coordination of policies and institutions, and provide the vision for the future of the NAF in the short, medium, and long terms.
