Simple, the BN thinks what climate the AN has based on its flag, such as tropical, polar, arid, etc. You can be as pedantic (like a short paragraph) or as simple (like a one-liner) as you choose in your explanations.

AAN: Either oceanic (Cfc), subtropical (Cwa) and Mediterranean (Csa) climates at the coasts, transitioning into hotter and drier semi-arid (Bsh) and desert (BWh) climates inland.

AN: An icecap (ET) climate with sudden transitions into subarctic (Dfd) and humid continental climates (Dwb) before a large area with a desert climate (BWh).
