As it looks like the current proposal will pass anyways I don't really see why the rest of the membership had to be subjected to this debate...
Petty politics are going to appear regardless of whether or not things were aired during the drafting, voting, or even after voting had concluded. Mainly because there's always going to be someone else to chime in with their 2 cents even after it seems like it's all over with from that first moment.
