1. Big L economic "Liberal/Neoliberal" to be specific.

I mean you *are* endorsing the Dems. Not judging; I understand. I used to do that as well. But they aren't worth it.

2. Except that's not what I'm doing. Why? Because the more powerful the left in the nation become, the less and less electoralism will be a thing, and it will move to real democracy.

But that requires actually given the left/left-leaning actual positions of power and influence than declaring "X didn't do everything I wanted in 1 year, I'm voting Trump next time!" That is counterproductive to goal, I'm afraid.

Which takes time, effort, and will amount to nothing at all because capitalists will never allow it to. They'd rather crash and burn the system than give up their privilege. We've been seeing this for decades, dude.

Quicker and more effective to just rise up and build a new system from scratch instead of trying to work from within a system that will never allow you to abolish it. It's already been proven to work.

3. I never argued whether they were leftists or not, I said they corrupt and totalitarian authoritarians. No one's been able to give me a violent socialist revolution that hasn't devolved into such.

All systems are innately corrupt and authoritarian. That comes with the territory of having a state and government. It's a necessary evil, but one that can mitigated. This is, again, why I oppose Marxism-Leninism.

Though, on that note, Stalin was not a leftist. He strongly believed in social conservatism, homo/transphobia, imperialism, and eugenics. Lenin basically gave women equal rights and then Stalin took them away within a day of coming into power. (Exaggerating, but still, that was the general speed at which he re-instilled social conservatism)

I don't know much about Stalin admittedly, but Leftism disavowing eugenics and homophobia/transphobia is a very recent development. The latter was considered "bourgeois degeneracy" and the former was just en vogue at the time. There are still old-school style Leftists that haven't quite abandoned them yet.

Not sure by what metric you're defining "social conservatism".

Not sure about the state of women's rights in the USSR but I do know plenty of women were fighting on the front lines during WWII so they clearly had more rights in the USSR than some of their contemporaries.

Every system is authoritarian to some degree tbh. I find that label gets more and more useless the more I think about it, really.
