Is the following thing canon in BN? [II]

Postby Redeemed Britannia » Wed Sep 01, 2021 7:17 am

Quoting the Original thread's OP verbatim:

Hello peeps and nations of NationStates.

As we all have a nation that differs from everything be it history, people, technologies and so on, let's play a game.

Each nation will have to ask the below nation if something they said is canon or not.

Example:

A: Below Nation has the European Union existing
B: Yes

or

A: videogame characters are real in BN's universe
B: Yes.

So let's start.

A m e n r i a wrote:BN's people use feathers in their clothing, like Aztecs or some native American tribes.

I mean, yes. Not "people" in general, but it is a fashion trend you might see among the upper classes.

The BN's military predates the introduction of firearms to Europe.

We're a parliamentary system -the very founder of the system by all rights- so no, there are multiple parties in both government and in opposition.

The BN's been ruled by the same party for the last 50 years

No, it’s ruled by a constantly changing coalition of parties.

BN has been in a civil war at least once in its history.

Kinda? The wyvern, unicorn and harp are respectively representations of the English, Scottish and Irish peoples and important symbols of their cultures.

The BN wrongly claims to be difficult for foreigners to conquer (think Afghanistan and the Graveyard of the Empires cope)

Actually, it'd be relatively easy to conquer us, it's been done before, but I think none of our neighbors are in any position. France or Eurasia could maybe, but France is a strong ally to us, and Eurasia may be a paper tiger, but you'd just reduce to a rump state in the alps most likely, otherwise, the European geography of relatively flat plains stretching from the Bay of Biscay in France to the Ural Mountains in the middle of the Russian Eurasian Federative Republic, would mean the north is easy to take over and the Pannonian Basin is easy to take. But the mountains would be fortresses to break but our military is competent, otherwise, our geography and history show our weaknesses. Romans, Celts, Huns, Avars, Goths, Lombards, Slavs, Magyars, and so many people have built and rebuilt empires on the backs of many tribes and states before us. Even in the recent past, France has subjugated us many times, and the First Empire of Bonaparte had ended the old Empire and allowed for the German Realm to slowly replace it.

BN's Flag has two variants a civil and state flag, with the latter showing the coat of arms on the blank civil flag. (Think Peru, Poland, Austria, Germany, Spain, etc)

Happy (and unwilling to see a fundamental change)? Yes. Satisfied? By no means, as is the sign of a matured political atmosphere.

AN: Many of them. the Capital city London (English: Lundenwic) for one

The BL enjoys popular support but is opposed by a largely unpopular legislature.

I mean, we are a parliamentary democracy, the head of state of the realm is the Emperor, who holds a ceremonial presidency and the chancellor is elected by the parliament, so if she has no support there, she will be voted out if she were to lose a vote of no-confidence, but if it were unpopular with the people she could have a snap election and perhaps build a better coalition. TL;DR not true for us.

They would probably call them Bird or communism-related things if they had pandemics.
However, maybe due to the fact that they do not engage in domestication of animals, them being eldritch beings, or other unknown reasons, the Deliveryworms haven't had pandemics happen.

The BN is placed on earth, but the course of human history diverges from real life around 100,000 BC or earlier.

Not canon.

BN uses hard copies for all government records instead of computer databases due to concerns of cyberattacks and/or has all infrastructure manually operated due to the same reason. Or alternatively computers were never invented in the world of BN.

Physical records are kept only of documents classified as very important, while most bureaucracy has gone online for streamlined processes.

BN has tried to actively censor internet access in their country if it exists at all.
