Reign of the Archons: Resistance

Image

No one knows where Exarch Ilkans, an alien being came from exactly. Only that he and his followers appeared two years after the deadly Pandora virus devastated the world in 2025. Killing millions and paved the way for Ilkans and his followers to take over the world. People tried to resist Ilkans's campaign but, were overwhelmed by his army and seemly magical powers. Combined with the powers of his close followers, the world was under his control after four years of war. Quickly consolidating his new realm and forced the survivors into cities in order to maintain control over the populace. Then assigned his closest followers, a group of seven who would be called Archons. Each was assigned a continent to control before Ilkans himself disappeared. Only the Archons know of his location and set out to enforce his rule on the world. While ruling as they saw fit and often to the deterrent of their citizens. They would rule Earth uninterrupted for three hundred years.

Not to say that they were not any resistance to the new regime. Several resistance groups have formed over the centuries with varying success. Most were brutally suppressed and unable to truly be a major threat to the Archons. Most were, but, some have managed to survive and become a lingering pain to the Archons. Proving that the rebels could become a major threat but, with limited communications and mainly unorganized say for a few. These groups have been unable to truly form a united front against the Archons and their hold over the world.

Despite this and thanks to the surviving rebels, several free and self-sufficient settlements had been formed over the years. Outside of the control of the Archons and while most are affiliated with a rebel group. Some are independent and are wary of rebels for the sole reason that they might bring the attention of the Archons to their settlement.

One such settlement called New Jericho located in North America is home to not only a rebel group called the Vanguard. But, hosts one of the few free human mages. Its leader, being one of them, Catherine Morrow. One of the lucky humans to be born outside of Archon control and able to learn more about magic. Catherine despite a major setback months ago, which resulted in the deaths of nearly a whole cell including her daughter and son in law to an ambush caused by a contact turned traitor Trevor McConnell. Now after few months of recovering and checking to see if any of their other operations had been compromised. Now Catherine after rebuilding the cell and confident that they now can proceed once again with their plans. She has prepared a meeting with the rebuilt cell to discuss their next move. For if they succeed, it will change things and make a united rebel front that will really kickstart the rebellion against the Archons.

Overview:

The year is 2331 and it has been three hundred years since the takeover by Ilkans and his forces. Leaving the Archons in charge and while he departs for an unknown location. Players will start in the free settlement of New Jericho located in an abandoned mine in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The base of the rebel group called the Vanguard, led by free mage Catherine Morrow. Players will be a part of a rebuilt rebel cell Echo which is one of several cells apart of Vanguard that was nearly killed off months ago. So you can either be a new recruit or a current member that has been reassigned to the Echo.

I am limiting the number of mages to three maybe four and starting magic can be anything within reason for free mages and for escaped mages from cities will start with elemental and healing magic. With the ability to learn more spells and types down the road. As for weapons and armor, you will have access to. Since technology has progressed little in most areas except for some fields and in eastern Asia. Most rebels still use twenty-first-century weapons and armor. While old they still pack a punch are only slightly worse than modern weapons and armor.

Though the Vanguard is based in western Canada, that does not mean that everyone has to be a Canadian. You can be someone from outside of Canada that found and joined up with the Vanguard. As long as it makes sense and though initial missions will be set in Canada. There will be missions set outside of Canada like in the United States and further beyond.

New Jericho

New Jericho was founded a hundred and twenty years ago by a group of Canadian citizens that managed to escape from Edmonton and got lost finding a free settlement. They ended up near an abandoned mine in the Canadian Rockies. Forced to take shelter in the mine for the night and what they found surprised them. As they explored it became clear that the mine had once been occupied at one point. Someone had set up a makeshift base in the mine and by the looks of it, half of it was still functioning. The group assumed that this was a rebel base at one point before the rebels moved on. After staying the night and thinking about where to go. They decided on staying and making the mine a proper home. Fixing up what they could and move what supplies they had inside. Calling their new home New Jericho.

Eventually, over the years the settlement becoming bigger and self-sufficient. It was only twenty years ago when a group of citizens decided that they wanted to do more than survive and take the fight to the Archons. Calling themselves the Vanguard and led by one of the elders. The Vanguard with the backing of New Jericho. The Vanguard started resistance efforts in the region, always making sure that their operations would not expose the location of New Jericho. Which ten years ago, the location of New New Jericho was nearly compromised and led to the near-death of the Vanguard. After this near-death and the death of their leader, the second in command of the Vanguard, Catherine Morrow took control and started to rebuild the Vanguard. While calming the leader and people of New Jericho that this will not happen again. A promise that so far Catherine has been able to keep. Despite this, New Jericho is stable and doing well.

Currently, New Jericho has a population of 300 and the mine tunnels have been expanded over the years. Including a large hydroponics bay, armory, training area, shooting range, garage, and more amenities. The leader of New Jericho is Ethan Colms who has been leading the settlement for five years since the death of his father, Cole Colms, the last leader of New Jericho.

Technology

Due to Ilkans and most of the Archons views on technology. Ilkans only kept technology around due to seeing a use for it but, choose to not commit to further development of human technology except for a few areas. A view shared with most of his Archons except for Mirat who under his own desire. Choose to advance human technology and even augment himself with advanced cybernetics to make himself stronger. Something that though at times has annoyed Ilkans, he ultimately chose to let Mirat pursue his desire and not interfere. Something that Mirat is grateful for and has been the bane of rebels operating in easter Asia. So while the rp is set three hundred years in the future, technology is still pretty much the same except for a few areas and for those living in eastern Asia. Those few areas being energy, communications, transportation, and barely weapons and armor.

Magic:

Magic was long thought to be a myth before Ilkans and his followers appear. Using magic to augment themself and used it to conquer the world. But, it was not until some time after Ilkans disappeared that magic came back to the world. As some humans born after Ilkans's disappearance started to show magical talent. Leading many to believe that Ilkans brought magic back but how and why it is unknown. Only that the Archons do not seem to want human mages to be powerful and any mages found are forced into the military and are only taught basic elemental and healing magic. Only those that have escaped or born into the free settlements are able to learn more about magic.

Magic to those born with it is controlled mainly through will. Using their will to shape their mana into spells. The stronger the will a mage has the stronger the magic they can perform. If a mage does not have enough will or use a spell stronger than their will then the spell will either not work or the mage will lose control of the spell. Potentially harming the user or others. It is possible to increase one's will with magic but, only a few free mages know the spell and it is recommended that experienced mages only make the attempt.

While it is possible to learn new spells, it is often trial and error for it requires training to use one's will to cast a spell. For using one's will to shape magic is not an as easy a task as it seems and requires training to use each spell. Experimenting with their magic to make new spells but can be dangerous and sometimes fatal to the mage if something goes wrong.

Archon's forces: - More to be added

Security Trooper - The standard rank and file Archon security forces. Having not changed much during the three hundred years other than better weapons and armor. These are what most people see patrolling the streets and at times fighting rebels.

Blackbird - The standard VTOL used by security forces that is both a transport and a gunship. Being able to house up to eight passengers excluding the two pilots. Coming equipped with a single GAU-22 rotary heavy machine gun and sometimes missiles.

Taken - The poor unfortunate souls that the Archons got their hands on. The Taken as they are called by the rebels are those humans that have been corrupted by the Archons that twisted both their mind and body to a twisted appearance and total loyalty to the Archon that corrupted them. Giving them increased strength, durability, snd speed greater than normal humans. Only Ilkans and the Archons can make the Taken and need to place their hand on the forehead of a human and use an unknown spell to corrupt someone. It is unknown if there is a way to reverse the process or cure a Taken, and many have failed trying to do so.

Taken retain some memories and skills of their former selves and can follow complex orders. Though they have zero free will and thus can not perform magic even if the person was a mage. While Taken can be seen carry guns and wear armor. It is not uncommon to see a Taken using solely melee weapons, taking advanced of their increased durability to withstand incoming fire to close the distance.

The Seven Archons:

Amna - The most magically adept Archon and controls South America. Amna is considered the second strongest mage next to Ilkans. Amna spends most of her time perfecting her magic then governing their realm. Leaving her subordinates in charge for the most part but, makes it clear how she wishes to rule the region. Which is not better than how the other Archons rule. Rumor has it that she has started to perform magical experiments on humans. For what reasons no one knows but, it has been noted that some criminals in South America are taken away to never be seen again. Which the rebels in South America are trying to find out what she is planning but, so far. Amna has hidden her plans well to the dismay of the rebels.

Elvih - The odd one out and controls Africa. Elvih is odd not because of being eccentric or anything like that. But, for being the only religiously mined Archon. Worshipping a faith that is supposedly Ilkans and the rest of the Archons follow. Worshipping an otherworldly being known as Qehtar and is committed to spreading this religion throughout Africa. Building temples and forcing her citizens to worship Qehtar. Which has created not just rebels that seek to overthrow her but, has sparked religiously motivated resistance groups that call for a holy war against Elvih and the other Archons. That has seen some success over the centuries but, Elvih is a zealot. She has come down harshly down on those that refuse to convert. Which has only embolden the rebels in a furious war of religion. Elvih's Taken are often tattooed with religious markings and sometimes speak of Qehtar's scriptures.

Lolvu - The most martial and controls North America. Lolvu has the mind of a warrior, like Aken. When she was given North America to rule, the first thing she did was build up her security forces and trained them to be a highly disciplined and effective force. But, once that was done and bearing minor threats such as rebels that have popped up over the centuries. There has not been a foe that has proved to be a challenge for her. Making her bored and frustrated with no one a challenge for her besides her fellow Archons. Still, she does not falter in her duties to enforce Ilkans rule and rules how she sees fit. She often spends time sparring to keep her strong and focused. Not wanting to lose her edge due to boredom and lack of a true opponent or threat.

Algol - Algol is the most refined of the Archons and controls Europe. Considered by some to be the weakest and less violent of the Archons. Despite his role in helping Ilkans in conquering the world. He is reserved and rarely does he get show emotions. Algol treats his subordinates rather fairly as an Archon and is lenient with them. As long as they follow his orders and do not disobey him. For Algol treats disobedient harshly and to dissents and rebels. Algol can be rather brutal and cold in his methods to rid the region of them. Having a large force of Taken at his command and a good portion of them are former rebels. An example of what happens to those that resist his rule and has made the rebel groups in the region take drastic measures to avoid being capture.

Zan - Zan the masked Archon who controls western Asia and the most elusive of the seven. Rarely seen without his mask and armor. Zan is Ilkans's assassin, skilled in assassination and shadow magic. Zan during the conquest of Earth, was often sent ahead to kill the leaders of any group that resisted Ilkans's forces. Now after the war and in control of western Asia. Zan is unhappy with his new territory, wanting eastern Asia instead and unable to simply take control of eastern Asia from Mirat. He instead sent forces to regularly skirmish for territory in central Asia against Mirat's forces. While at the same time, Zan personally trains his elites called the Shadow Warriors, to combat Mirat's forces and rebels in his region. Which has been the bane of many rebel groups in western Asia.

Aken - The most militant of the Archons and controls Australia. Aken like Lolvu was upset about the state of the security forcces when they took control and like her have made their forces to the level they want. Only that after three hundred years of rule and no real targets other than rebels. Aken has grown bored of his rule of Australia and now spends his time setting up and overseeing gladiatorial arenas. Pitting captured rebels, criminals, and sometimes a random person in the audience if he feels especially bored. Still, Aken continues to run Australia even if he leaves most of the work to others in his government while he spends more time in the arenas. Trying to satisfy his lingering boredom but, still maintains his martial skills. In order to not seem weak to the other Archons and to his subjects.

Mirat - The only Archon to truly embrace technology and controlling Eastern Asia. Mirat is an odd one out of the seven Archons. The only one that chose to embrace technology rather than hold it in contempt like the rest. While technology was slowed to a crawl in most regions, in eastern Asia it bloomed. Mainly thanks to the fact Ilkans has yet to stop Mirat from advancing technology in his region. Either not caring or for some unknown reason. Either way, Mirat is pleased either way and has even installed cybernetics into his body in order to make the already powerful Archon even more dangerous. Even add cybernetics to his Taken to make them more dangerous. Along with making his forces technologically advanced and a major pain for the resistance groups in eastern Asia. That and giving him an edge over Zan during their skirmishes for territory in central Asia.

Name: Tyomkin (Nikita) Ivanovich
Gender: Male
Age: 24 years, 2 months
Appearance (picture or written description):

Tyomkin Ivanovich may appear older than he is physically... Being forced from a place of hell by his forefathers and mothers to trek for more than four years across Siberia, Alaska and finally the coldest depths of Canada, if those concepts still exist any longer under the yoke of the alien Archons with nothing but the clothes on his back, and one of Tyomkin's most prized possessions from Petropavlovsk-kamchatsky, a PM-Makarov that had indeed served him well during his exodus from the Kamchatka peninsula at the beginning. If he was to show it, cuts and wounds suffered from the wildlife of the various locations could still be visible, such as the row of indents that had come from a Grey Wolf alongside the left Lower Leg..

Place of origin: Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (Russia) (Archon Mirat's influence zone)
Magic user: (Y/N)
Magic spells: Not proficient in magic
Role:

In truth, Tyomkin Ivanovich had been trained by birth, by his father and mother which are now indeed of unknown condition, both proud members of the underground resistance of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the 'Sixth Internationale' as they often referred to themselves as, modeling themselves off the revolutionary spirits, the strength, valor and zealotry of the patriots of the Soviet Union of old in the idea that one day, the people of the motherland may once again rise to reenact the old Russian Revolution, this time not against the Capitalist, oppressive Tsardom of Russia that had once existed before, but rather against an enemy that all of Humanity could relate to, bourgeoisie or proletariat... The alien usurpers.
Years upon years of conditioning has made him able in many a thing... He knows how to rile a crowd out of patriotic fervor and comradery, though not as well as he knows his way around a firearm...

However, his one greatest strength is patience, a skill he was forced to have learned in the depths of cold Siberia, Alaska and further onward. He uses this to his greatest extent when he has a rifle on his back, namely an old, yet well-maintained Mosin-Nagant scavenged from the old Motherland during his mission to North America, a place he was told would be a place safe from Archon Mirat's grasp.

TL:DR :: Marksman (Spotting, sniping and staying well away from the frontlines of a fight)

Skills:

Much has been mentioned above. Tyomkin Ivanovich can be charismatic, but much moreso a fighter, ever so skilled as a sniper with a rifle that was invented and produced not 400 years in the past by now... However, there is more that he had learnt throughout his life. Years of pure survival against the hostile elements, none moreso than the harsh, cold weather of the most northern and desolate regions of the world has made comrade Ivanovich truly skilled in survival, whether it be lighting a fire even in the most hostile of conditions, fending off wildlife and more. And his PM-Makarov and Mosin-Nagant on his back have survived to the present only due to a great number of times these have been repaired, conditioned and ever moreso, making him skilled as a repairman out of necessity.

Equipment: PM-Makarov (1 unit), Mosin-Nagant M1891 (Addition(s) :: Telescopic sight), Bayonet (Repurposed into a knife).
Ammunition :: [ 9x18mm ] 56 units, [7.62x54R] 25 units

The tale of Tyomkin (Nikita) Ivanovich is perhaps less about himself as a single person in exodus from Mirat's grasp over his home city deep into the Russian Far East, but of the aforementioned city itself: Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky...

Mirat's grasp over East and North Asia is often characteristically described as the bastion of Technology, of continued growth of Earth though indeed not due to any benevolence, but for the otherworldly Archon's self-interests, of unhinged passion to push what is possible with Earth with no thought of consequence of the Humans of which his realm overlooks.
For indeed, many cities such as Beijing, Tokyo, Rangoon, Ulaanbaatar or Astana have become ever more advanced in technology, but this is never to the benefit of the citizenry... Advanced robotics scour the streets and put down anyone whom would attempt to even slightly resist Mirat's grasp without mercy, after all, Robots are simply incapable of feeling such an emotion. Entire districts, cities even are entrapped in sci-fi walls of pure energy, disintegrating any 'illegal' element attempting to enter or exit it's boundaries...

However, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky is anything but advanced... In many ways, it is a place that has even regressed in terms of it's pre-invasion self through centuries of little care, of development... At this current date, the old Siberian city moreso resembles a populated ghost town of old housing blocks of the Soviet-era, tattered and torn due to malpractice. For the Archon need not care about such a remote, small place and how it may look, but as history would dictate, it is unfortunate that he still does...
The city that never changes may not be a dystopian, yet futuristic settlement than even it's southern neighbors such as Vladivostok, Sapporo and further, yet Mirat's presence is still very much there. Robots and loyal guard patrol the open streets almost tirelessly, a juxtaposition of old and new between the worn buildings and advanced technology of the Archon's minions. The citizenry cower in their delapataed homes, wondering if they'll be the next victims of being dragged outside into the cold, carted off to god knows where to become Mirat's plaything. However, this is still not the worst Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky has to offer... For on the outside of it's boundaries, with Avachinsky mountain dominating the horizon is an old place, yet repurposed for Mirat's sick needs.

Birokamensk Gulag... A place that had once been home to some of the now lost-to-time Soviet Union's worst criminals, dissenters and more, now taken by the Alien usurpers, remolded and given new, sick life by the Archon and his cohorts... It is a grim place, where the people within are as often to starve, die of hypothermia, pass away due to excruciating labor and much more sorry ways to go as they are to survive and live a tormented life under the firm grasp of this new world order.
It is a wicked place, for it serves a purpose for Mirat... It is a Human breeding ground, a place where it's sorry inhabitants are forced by it's guard of Taken, of unfeeling Robots to procreate with one another, to create offspring that will not live any life worth living, instead soon taken to an unknown place, most likely to be subjects of the Archon's manic plans of furthering his research at whatever cost. The cells and hallways are as ancient as the Soviet Union of old. Dark, wet and cold, it is truly hell for anyone to find themselves in.

Image
The city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky is itself, fuel for Birokamensk... The people within know that there is always a chance that they'll be the next to be pulled from their houses, to be thrown into the walls of the old Gulag and become nothing more than a new breeder for the Archon's sick gain... However, the surface is not the only community within Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky... In the underground sewers, subways, train lines and tunnels. A revolution brews...
Hidden by frozen dirt and collapsed rubble, people live within these messes of the underground, within basements, tunnels, sewers and underground train lines connected by haphazardly connected crafted tunnels, numbering just above 10,000 people... Some are as ordinary as the people living above, hopeless to revolt against Mirat and his new world order, though take solace that underground, they are safer than their overworld peers. Just as many would call themselves patriots of a time lost, however... Of hopes that one day, things may change, that the ruling class of their motherland may be overthrown, and that Russia may yet return. The group molds itself off a time similar to this, a time where the Proleteriat of Russia, sick of their yoke of oppression by the ruling bourgeoisie had taken it upon themselves to begin a Revolution, one which encapsulated all of the Motherland, one which drove the ones that had oppressed the majority for too long away, and allowed a new Russia to begin. This is why the underground revolutionary movement of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky call themselves, poetically, the 'Sixth Internationale', though no longer would they wish for socialism, but moreso one simple goal, one that no matter one's ideological views can support, to drive the Aliens away.

Indeed, the underground is bleak... Dark, wet and most often cold, it is a hard place to live, perhaps even harder on a day to day basis than the commie blocks of the city above. Nevertheless, alongside the waters molded with constant rubbish, alongside the dark corridors, ruined train carriages, haphazardly built settlements of tarp, wood, corrugated metals and mud are flags of the Soviet Union hanging against said walls, graffiti of revolutionary artwork, of chants for change and more, of men and women wearing outfits not like the ones of which Soviet Patriots wore, rifles in hand as they drove German invaders back into their country, of an underground spirit of comradery, of united fervor and an optimistic belief that one day, they, or their sons and daughters may end Mirat and Algol's reign over the Motherland and reclaim it, just as had happened in the 1910's.

Image

And now, we can move onto the man of which had been told it was too dangerous to continue to live in the underground, that had to kiss his mother and father goodbye for the last time before exiting the damp tunnels, escaping the confines of the city and walked from Siberia to eventually stumble into that small community deep in the Canadian Rockies, comrade Tyomkin Nikita Ivanovich...

Born to his father and mother deep underground in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, two people that due to Tyomkin's long time in the wilderness has all but forgotten their names to time. What he does know is that they were as zealous to the cause of the Sixth Internationale as anyone perhaps was, committed to the cause that through perseverance, building up to a force that may yet begin the second Revolution of Russia under their stead that they may be free from the Alien invaders that would seek to forever oppress Russia under their grasp... Throughout Tyomkin's younger years in that damp underground, he had been taught, almost forced to conform to the belief that his parents had, that it is a patriotic Russian man and woman's duty to fight against this oppression, that things will not change without violent revolution, something that though comrade Ivanovich has been slightly disassociated with over time due to simple amnesia, and furthermore the harsh truth that the new settlement of which he finds himself in the company of, not numbering more than three hundred men and women, still very much holds to his heart... His life within the underground was dominated by teachings of the great Russian Revolution, of the fanciful belief of the Soviet utopia that was held after the oppressors were driven out of the Motherland, that this could happen again and against the Alien oppressors. He learnt much there, no more than by the patriots on how to professionally shoot, how to lead a group of fighters, how to use every skill and every opportunity in a battle that may have been in the future to outperform even the most tough opponents, say an Alien from another world, for instance.

Tyomkin was not even twelve years old when his fate as a revolutionary against the Alien menace would become truthful... Heavily pressured to do so, he would have become a 'patriot' of the sixth internationale, a fighting man with a firearm in hand that would dedicate his life to the fight, whether it be making sure that the underground revolution would stay hidden from Mirat's cohorts, protecting humanity from itself as an unofficial officer of the law within the underground systems, and even on occasion actively raiding from the safe underground against the Aliens' fighters above.
However, history dictates that Tyomkin would not spend forever in the underground warrens of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky... It all happened so quickly, on the 16th day after comrade Ivanovich's nineteenth year on the planet.

It was a cold day in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, colder than could've ever been expected from ones hidden under the earth from the weather of the Kamchatka peninsula up above... It was eerie up above when the patriots of the Sixth Internationale rose from the tunnels down below, the almost ghostly looking buildings, a visage of a time lost to the past, a time almost idolized, where Humanity ruled itself, where Mother Russia was ruled by... Well, Mother Russia.
They couldn't stay forever, they had a mission to do... It was known that recently, a group of Mirat's soldiers came very close to discovering the underground community, and thus the revolution brewing below and under their noses, and much intelligence claimed that the small force was still searching, suspicious that the surface of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky was not the only place that the old, ruined city had... They would discover it soon enough, and so they had to be taken out of the picture before they could do so...

The patriot force found Mirat's soldiers eventually, surprisingly far away from any entrance that there was for the underground, though it was obvious they were still searching... It was a small group, as predicted, though something stood out...
It was a monstrous creature, one that looked half-human but also half-otherworldly, as it had been corrupted by the Aliens of whom invaded... The beast seemed to lead a group of security, numbering half a dozen human soldiers, sickeningly loyal to the Alien overlords equipped with technology that seemed similar, such as a rifle and knives though also more than the patriots had ever seen at the time... By the gods, it seemed they were armoured with suits that glowed with technological energies.
By any means, they were located... The patriots took their positions in the old buildings, in the craters of the streets or camouflaged against the heavy snows on occasion.

And it did not take long... The Archon's force eventually walked directly in the middle of the patriots of the Sixth Internationale, walking, searching still amongst the street flanked on all sides by the patriots... It was sudden, a burst of gunfire ripped from all sides aimed at the enemy, instantaneously ripping through and killing two of the security as they were pierced with bursts of 7.62x54R bullets.
Mirat's soldiers reacted quickly. The strange abomination took the lead, and stood still in the street as bullets from the patriots ripped through it, yet it reacted little, as if it simply shrugged off powerful rounds that came from the barrels of scavenged Mosin-Nagant, SKS, Makarov and RPDs... The security easily saw where the gunfire was coming from as the patriots attempted to fall the abomination, and went on the offensive...
Patriots fell by half the dozens by the minute, and when most of the security was eventually fallen by gunfire, only a few of the patriots remained, alone against a juggernaut that simply seemed to shrug off bullets.

Tyomkin Ivanovich was armed with a SKS rifle, one which was purposed as a marksman's rifle with the addition of a telescopic sight, a rifle he would have soon therefore abandoned as it was ripped to shreds by a wolf of Siberia not far into his exodus. From one of the buildings that had yet to be compromised, gun barrel sticking out of a shattered glass pane, he would have watched the slaughter from his sight. But he had a duty, and it was to fall that monstrosity.
It was luck at what happened next... By that time, everyone else was mortally wounded and unable to fight, or dead... He was the last to stand, and the monster knew where he was. Though at this point, the creature looked truly injured, it seemed committed to purging comrade Ivanovich from mortality. And so it stormed into the building, at which point Tyomkin could hear it's heavy footsteps going up rickety steps...

And so, he had to choose to fight, hide or run... And in the moment, adrenaline pumping he chose the former...
He took his place behind the open door, covered by it's shadow moments before the monster had charged into the room. Tyomkin took his PM-Makarov from his side, and pulled the trigger of the pistol eight times quicker than he would've expected, each bullet ripping into the thing... It created a small shriek like a demon had been annoyed, and turned. How it only needed to take one more bullet to be fallen, no one could guess... But it was sheer luck that it was the case. Time moved in slow motion as the creature, crippled still moved fast towards Tyomkin, as he pulled his SKS to his side... The alien almost had one of it's limbs attack comrade Ivanovich, when the bullet soared out of the barrel, landing deep into it's already punctured skull. And without a noise, it fell backwards, making such a loud thump against the wooden floor that it sounded like it reverberated.

The commander of the patriot group was still alive, barely... He was taking in last breaths when Tyomkin rushed outside to meet him.
And the commander would have told him in as few words as possible that if not sooner, than later, the underground is now compromised, and that there would be no life remaining for Tyomkin there...
And he would have watched his commander die in the blood-curdled snow there, after those words, a memory of which still scars him and cannot be repressed even now, within Canada.

When comrade Ivanovich returned to the underground, to his mother and father to tell of the news, it turned out they agreed... They told him to go, leave Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and escape, to fight the aliens and carry on the legacy of being able to be alive to fight for the reclamation of the Motherland for another day...
-

It took much contemplation, but Tyomkin Ivanovich accepted both the Patriot Commanding officer and his parent's requests, and quickly left Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in an exodus...
The journey across Siberia cannot be reviewed heavily, it was tough, yet repetitive and easily forgotten... However, Tyomkin remembered one time when he was jumped just upon leaving the Kamchatka peninsula by a lone, yet dangerously large looking wolf from out of nowhere... He still has the mark to show for this fight, the canine's fangs of which latched onto his leg and left a permanent set of marks... As it turns out, the SKS may have saved him a nasty fate, but not by it's bullets... The wolf had jammed it's teeth into the firearm, almost ripping it to shreds rather than Tyomkin himself. A round from the PM-Makarov fell the Wolf then and there, but the SKS was useless now. Nevertheless, Tyomkin still managed to salvage it's working telescopic sight from it, one that is now mostly always equipped to a Mosin-Nagant that was found later in his travels.

The Mosin's Rifle was found in a small, yet abandoned village, left to rot to time... It's signs said it was 'Lavrentiya' for what Tyomkin could recall, and also marked the final stretch of Tyomkin's, unbeknownst at the time, time within Asia... Though almost buried underneath snow, comrade Ivanovich found that it still worked, showing yet again the strength of Russian weapon ingenuity. Alongside this discovery was another, around sixty 7.62x54R bullets and twelve stripper clips to boot, of which twenty-five of these rounds remain even to this day.
Nevertheless, Tyomkin's exodus through the wilderness continued... It was the middle of winter at this point, and it was a surprise that, even under the extreme colds that he could continue to move and progress... But he did, and though he didn't know at the time, assuming it was just a frozen over lake, he had managed to cross a frozen Bering Strait on foot, and was no longer in the old Motherland, nor even Asia... No, he was then in Archon Lolvu's controlled territories, North America...
The journey across Alaska was much the same, though passing frozen over signs and settlements now lost to time, Tyomkin soon found this out. He did not know much English, but even he could read signs that said things along the lines of:

Nome :: 10 miles
or
Fairbanks :: 120 miles

He did run into a security group during his trek through Alaska, though not this time of Mirat but of Lolvu's... He remembers noting that, unlike the group he encountered within Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, that these humans who took their place within the awful Archons' employ as traitors were not very technologically sound... They had some advanced armour, and they held weapons that must have been decades older than even his own PM-Makarov, but not that glowing arms and armour of Mirat's own.
He couldn't help it, he fired... Perhaps out of patriotism, out of rage upon seeing them or even a lack of judgement that comes from, by now years of time almost always alone, he raised the Mosin-Nagant he had gained back in Siberia, and shot a round clean into the first Security Trooper, falling him quickly...

Nevertheless, as soon as that 7.62x54R round left the barrel with a deafening crack, he knew he had made a life-threatening mistake... He had committed to attacking Lolvu's troopers, and now they would search for him, attempt to hunt him down...
Doing the only thing he knew he could do, he immediately dropped to the group, the soft snow hitting him quickly... By now, his patriot's uniform was completely caked in snow after months, years even in the wilderness, it proved just as good at camouflage against the environment as any designed piece of apparel could... He waited with baited breath there for what felt like hours as the troopers yelled to each other in English, attempting to find their attacker, but as it would have proved, to no avail.
It would have surprised even Tyomkin that he was not discovered and forced to fight again, but nevertheless, as soon as it was safe to do so, he darted from the scene, and continued East... He knew he was no longer in the territories of the Motherland, that he could have turned back and attempted to return, however he hoped that North America would be safer, would hold more people resisting the Archons... As Lolvu's tight grasp, even tighter than Mirat's own back in the Motherland would prove, this was wrong to think.

He didn't even know he was in Canada, not until he was told by the people of New Jericho that it was the case all that time later... The signs had almost lost all of their colouration to suggest it, and the words that hinted towards cities such as Vancouver, or Edmonton did little for Tyomkin, assuming that they could have been Alaskan villages.
Not much incident happened in his time in the wilderness of Canada upon first, walking into the boundaries, and stumbling upon New Jericho, deep within the Rockies. And by this time, he had forgotten quite a bit due to isolation, perhaps the most notable being his own parent's names... Yet, he remembered the Underground of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, his dedication to being one of the members that would attempt in the future to bring along the Second Russian Revolution against the Alien invaders and restore the Motherland to it's rightful owners. He clearly remembers the last words, the death of his former commanding officer, something that he wishes he had also conveniently forgotten.

It has been a few months of time now within New Jericho, the first friendly community he had been accepted into for longer than hours since Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky... In such a time, it has been easier than the almost dystopian underground, and certainly a lot easier than his wandering through the wildernesses of Siberia, Alaska and for a time, Canada... However, he plans not to let this development make him anything he isn't... He will continue to fight against the alien usurpers, not with the Sixth Internationale anymore but with this Vanguard instead. Though he can no longer be within Mother Russia to commit his efforts to his old Motherland, perhaps starting with this local group, within the old concept of Canada could be a good start.

The Realm of Hyrule wrote:Name: Tyomkin (Nikita) Ivanovich

Equipment: PM-Makarov (1 unit), Mosin-Nagant M1891 (Addition(s) :: Telescopic sight), Bayonet (Repurposed into a knife).
Ammunition :: [ 9x18mm ] 56 units, [7.62x54R] 25 units

The Archon's force eventually walked directly in the middle of the patriots of the Third Internationale, walking, searching still amongst the street flanked on all sides by the patriots...

Accepted and I have no problem Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky being a canon city and as for discord. Depends on how many people join and if people want it.

Out of curiosity, what does technology look like in East Asia? How much more advanced is it than the rest of the world?

East Asia for the most part is how technology should be in the 24th century. Robots, cybernetics, limited A.I, organ cloning, and more if that helps. Energy weapons and power armor are reserved for the elite units,

EDIT: Honestly I'm kinda interested in playing a resistance-reprogrammed robot of some kind. I totally get if thats not allowed but I figured I'd ask just in case.

That would certainly be possible and I would not be against it. So sure go ahead.

Okay, so a better explanation of how and why Abdul came to Canada along with fleshing out his backstory more. As it is barebones. Also, you say he is Italian-Jordanian but, his mother is Afghan so would he be Italian-Afghan? Just an observation and saying his skin color is mixed with white and black does not really help with what he looks like and generally try to expand or list more in the app.

Well, by adding more details about your char's life and stuff. Also explaining a better reason how and why your char came to Canada from Europe.

As discussed, fire support and damage sponge robot. Will go over later for grammatical issues besides any substantive changes that need to be made.

Hello and welcome to TERRORIST CELL: VANGUARD. Since this is likely your first time interacting with something like me, at least in a non-hostile environment, VANGUARD has helped me put together an introduction of myself and my capabilities. Please say "Start" when you are ready.
Name: I am A-6 "Ōzutsu" Combat and Civil Disturbance Response Unit Nº 623, CALLSIGN: SKANDERBEG or simply Skan.
Gender: Technically nothing but for ease in interacting with human allies I am referred to and answer to female pronouns.
Age: It has been ten years since the creation of my chassis and uploading of my sapience, four years since my unwilling defection from security forces.
Appearance: I stand at exactly eight feet and weigh 3,037 pounds or a little more than the average compact car. Although I am always aware of where I am stepping it is recommended you do not walk too closely in front of or behind me for risk of grievous injury
Place of origin: I was assembled in the Nagoya, Japan at the Aichi Prefecture Assembly Plant
Magic user: I am unable to cast spells or perform magic without extensive and complex upgrades to my systems.
Magic spells: I am unable to cast spells or perform magic without extensive and complex upgrades to my systems.
Role: The combat roles designated to me by VANGUARD leadership are 1. Fire Support 2.Area Suppression and 3. Shield For Friends
Skills: The A-6 series was designed to fulfill a number of roles in service against non-compliant forces. I am capable of serving as a mobile firebase for friendly forces and while better suited to anti-infantry operations I am still capable of combating vehicles and emplacements. My databanks contain information on Archon forces and tactics and I am able to make complex calculations in less than a second if supplied with enough information. This is useful in a variety of applications from triangulating the position of enemy snipers to figuring out passwords through brute force. Perhaps my most vital skill is my ability to draw and withstand enemy fire. I am not indestructible but am highly resistant to small arms and shrapnel which allows me to screen for less durable comrades. Given the nature of my existence I have the knowledge required for general self-maintenance and basic repairs which translates well to a number of mechanical systems.
Equipment: -A-6 Series Applicable Machine Gun: A standard machine gun in use with Archon forces firing a variety of.338 Lapua Magnum rounds. Standard ball ammunition, tracers and armor piercing rounds are most common but other varieties such as incendiary and explosive do exist. A midpoint between the more portable 7.62 millimeter weapons systems and the harder hitting .50 caliber ones it can punch through cover and disable or destroy vehicles with sustained fire. I am able to wield it much more easily than a human would thanks to it being integrated with my systems.
-"Hwacha"-class Miniature Missile Launcher: A shoulder mounted weapon for engaging ground and air targets. Designed for urban warfare the Hwacha fires a smaller payload but makes up for it with an increased capacity and rate of fire. Besides the usual fragmentation, high explosive and smoke rounds a variety of irritating gases and rubber rounds can be equipped.
A-6 Hardware: Highly advanced computer software with the standard A-6 personality installed, illegally modified to serve non-compliant forces and equipped with sensors capable of tracking heat signatures and noises in the range of 5-100,000 Hz. All of these components are contained in a shell primarily made up of titanium, steel, and specially formulated hardened polycarbonate. Besides ensuring that I am physically protected my casing acts as a sort of Faraday cage, I can wirelessly access information but am not able to be hacked without someone have access to my physical body and anywhere from fifteen minutes to an hour to defeat physical safeguards.
Background: The A-6 series was designed and created in Year 275 of the New Regime to serve as a more compact replacement for the previous A-5 systems. With a massively reduced bulk and improved motor control systems the A-6 was much better suited to combat in urban arears or hostile terrain while the weaponry designed for use with the system more than matched the combat efficiency ratings of the older hardware. Successful on all fronts the series was rolled out to garrisons of Archon Mirat's forces. In cities they primarily served as a heavy duty response team for riots and other emergencies while in the jungles of East Asia they would be deployed on seek and destroy raids against various rebel coalitions. They also proved extremely valuable in border skirmishes against Archon Zan's troops since their sensors enabled them to find Shadow Warriors and overwhelm them with suppressing fire.

This particular unit was assembled in 2321 at the Aichi Prefecture Assembly Plant and immediately deployed with Nagoya security forces as Unit Nº 623 "Niijima". I was used to quell riots in the cities and to provide support for security teams involved in high risk raids where overwhelming force was required to maintain supremacy against insurgent forces. Occasionally I would be sent out of the cities bounds to hunt non-compliant groups throughout East Asia and to engage with scouts encroaching from on the Pakistan border from Afghanistan. I remained in service of the Archonate for six years.

In March of 2327 I was stationed at an outpost on Nōbi Plain to serve as fire support against criminal elements hiding out in the region that were suspected of being in league with various non-compliant organizations in exchange for weapons and supplies. I was temporarily shutdown the night of March 27th for system repairs to be done. Unbeknownst to me the security forces in the camp were attacked by a contingent of the bandits they were assigned to root out backed by specialists originating from DESIGNATED TERRORIST CELL: VANGUARD. The security officers were overwhelmed by the combined force and their equipment stolen, myself included.

I was smuggled to Canada in an inoperative state aboard a rebel aligned smuggler's vessel along with the members of VANGUARD who had taken possession of this. One member, Marilyn Cote otherwise known as CALLSIGN: BLACK HAT, was a noted security systems expert and and experienced in sabotage and thus began the process of erasing my allegiance to the Archonate and replacing it with loyalty to VANGUARD. The end result was unpolished but successful and I was renamed CALLSIGN: SKANDERBEG in honor of the military commander who led a rebellion against the empire who had held him hostage.

Since then I have done as ordered by VANGUARD and the leadership of New Jericho, serving as fire support on raids including the recent incident that saw the loss of a cell. I will likely keep doing as instructed until destroyed, recaptured or in the most unlikely outcome, the rebels achieve victory.

Optional:
Personality: I am told that despite my voice being designed to mimic the casual speaking tones of a woman in her mid-20s and my use of precise language members of VANGUARD and New Jericho often find me to be "disconcerting", "disturbing" or even "really creepy". My calculations suggest that this is due to my origin as a law enforcement tool and the fact that the imperfect replacement of my allegiance means that I still refer to non-compliant forces as insurgents, terrorists, criminals. Despite what is thought by the more paranoid I am at this moment totally unable to defect from or betray my current operators. This does not mean I like them or dislike the Archonate, indeed I am incapable of having such preferences.
Likes: I do not like anything.
Dislikes: I do not dislike anything
Family: I have no relatives.

Wow, you've done this before, haven't you?
Very noice

And... I can already see some... Interesting relationships between Tyokmin and SKANDENBURG begin.
Can't say the Russian who had fought Archon Mirat's forces personally as a member of the Sixth Internationale underground revolutionary group wouldn't be, at the very least uneasy about any of Mirat's technology, especially since it so easily talks of it's past loyalty before reprogramming, and thus that it knows of it.
This will certainly be an education!

Hyrule shall never fall! Not to the Twili, not to those whom would seek to abuse the deities' powers. For we are the sons and daughters of the realm of light, and thus we will defend our homes from evil!

Thank you! And yes certainly, no one could blame him for being at least a little wary. It'll be interesting to see how that turns out.

Despite how what is thought by the more paranoid I am at this moment totally unable to defect from or betray my current operators. This does not mean I like them or dislike the Archonate, indeed I am incapable of having such preferences.
Likes: I do not like anything.
Dislikes: I do not dislike anything
Family: I have no relatives.

Okay, better but, still not up to par. Try adding maybe a new paragraph and a better reason to go to and learn of New Jericho. Because learning it from a random friend in Mexico is not cutting it since New Jericho would not be the only free settlement with free mages.

You know what?
I want to ask a question, relating to the Archon's and their relationships with each other, since it might need to be noted for something that I may have going on for this in the future. If you'd allow me to indulge myself:

- So, you mentioned that Ilkans was uneasy about Mirat's adoption and development of technology, yet let him pursue it, if a little reluctantly... Is that opinion also common with the other Archons on Mirat? If not, why?

- More importantly, if you could, perhaps shed some light (This will be kept OOC unless I find a reason for it to be known IC in the RP itself, which might happen depending, I don't know) on Archon Lolvu, Algol and Aken's relationship with the Archon of East, South-East, South and North Asia, that'd be great.
Perhaps Algol has personal interest in the East - West Asian war being fought, and may eventually have to declare his opinions on the matter?
Would Aken see Mirat's abuse of technology as a "Weakness", perhaps? Assuming that his Northern Archon neighbor is augmenting himself because he is not powerful enough naturally?

But those are just random questions, me brainstorming and whatever. If you could detail this, absolutely perfect.

Thanks for any response.

Hyrule shall never fall! Not to the Twili, not to those whom would seek to abuse the deities' powers. For we are the sons and daughters of the realm of light, and thus we will defend our homes from evil!

I put the word fee on bold because it was supposed to be free. Mind if you correct that?
