My dad always thought her father was a white man, but he turned out not to be, though my mom suspects there's some Creek from that side.

Personally, the largest ethnic group in my background is German, second largest is British, rest is a mishmash of Portuguese, Italian, possibly Irish, and potentially more. Not sure where my European ancestors were from precisely (German ancestry may come from an area which is now Polish for all I know). Fairly vague in general of course, would have to delve into my family history in detail and scrounge up as much information is available.

For me specifically, I just sort of feel vaguely American, maybe Californian. If I have any non-European background (Amerindian, Asian, African, etc.) I am entirely unaware of it.

I'm too poor to get one of them ethnicity DNA tests, so I've had to rely on my family's word of mouth so far. I'd love to get it done one day, though!

I was born in Lithuania, and am probably mostly Lithuanian. I do know, however, that our family name has French origins. A great-...-great-grandfather from my mother's side was French. Probably a revolutionary-era refugee or one of the men Napoleon abandoned in Russia/Prussia/Poland.

Since I'm from Prussian Lithuania (aka Lithuania Minor) and all my family is from the western/southwestern parts of the country, it's not unlikely that I have German heritage. Looking at myself, I do look somewhat German, and I know a few German women who look like me. That also often helps me pass as a local in Eastern England lol. However, that could just be the French-Lithuanian mix.

Besides that, I've always had a strange pull towards Finland. My granny from my mother's side has a phenotype which tends to mostly present in the Finnic regions of Europe (including NW Russia). So there's a chance I could be part Finnish as well.

I look like the son of the mayor of Istanbul. I have a Rize province mother and a father of Slavic origin.

I’ve asked my family about our ancestry, but I keep getting inconsistent answers. The only thing that seems definite is that I’m part Irish on my mom’s side. I’ve been told that we’re also German, Scottish, English, Welsh, Dutch, Italian, and some other European. Only way I’ll get a conclusive answer is with a DNA test.

My mom took a basic DNA test that only gave very broad regions. She tested as 99% European and 1% Asian.

From what i know all Irish.

My mum investigated our family tree a few years back and found out some records (as did a cousin in America who sent over his documents) and we have some information going back a few generations to the late 1800s but it seems to be all Irish from what do know and found out.

Who knows, might be something else in there somewhere.
