THE STORY

In the year 2135, Earth, and by extension its colonies in the solar system, fall due to massive climate change, resource shortages, and nuclear war. All seems to be at an end for humanity. For all intents and purposes, it appears that the reign of humans has come to a close. However, despite the collapse of our homeworld and our fledgling interplanetary empire, we as a species were saved by an enigmatic, powerful, and mysterious alien race. Calling themselves the Shvii Hegemony, the humans saved by them learned quickly that we were not alone in the galaxy. Far from it, in fact, we were just one of many, most of which lived and worked under the Hegemony. The Shvii helped the rescued humans get back on their feet, proving them with the resources and technologies required for them to become an equal player in the Hegemony, just another addition to the mass of intelligent species who made it up.

However, as the newest and least experienced race to be uplifted, as well as for our violent history as a species, Humans were looked down upon. It didn't help that humans began to find their place in this new society as mercenary's and fighters, eventually becoming the go to when there was a morally ambiguous problem that had to be eliminated. Many other species began to view humans as simultaneously a threat to the galactic power structure and dirty bottom feeders, surviving by doing the dirty work for cash.

For 800 years this was the state of things, with the aliens we had met attempting to halt the rise in human influence, and humans taking it wherever they could. For saving our species, however, the Shvii were treated as almost gods, and humans were as a result beholden to them in many ways. But that is not to say that there was no pushback. A large portion of humanity resented the amount of Shvii influence in human affairs, believing that they were using us to fight their wars for them, and manipulating our way of life to their advantage.

Then one day, in the year 876 in the Post Terran Era, when a young student at a university discovered a book. It was paper, something that was more of a status symbol than the norm, and was clearly very old, which was just what he was looking for as he was studying old earth cultures. The book was Moby Dick, and inside was the handwritten message, "find the Pequod, find home," and a series of star coordinates. Believing that he was on the verge of a major find in the study of Old Earth, the young man tried to get a grant from his university to find what was on the other end of those coordinates, and when he couldn't get one, he organized an expedition of his own. But once they were there, they discovered that there was a lot more at play in those star coordinates and that cryptic message than there appeared to be.

This RP will follow that expedition, with the RPers taking on the roles of various scientists, mercenaries, pilots, and so on who are duped into helping on this adventure. Eventually, they will discover a series of conspiracy's and cover-ups perpetrated by the Shvii concerning humanity, how we came to be, the location of Old Earth, and the true nature of why so much space has gone unexplored.

HELLO AND WELCOME

Hello, and welcome to The Stars Fell To Thee. This is a personal project a friend had worked on and allowed me to borrow, and I've been really looking forward to trying it out as an RP. The basic premise is as THE STORY section details. Humans have survived the end of the earth because we were saved by a seemingly friendly alien race called the Shvii, who help us get back on our feet and begin operating as a part of the interstellar community called the Shvii Hegemony, which as the name suggests, is a society where the Shvii reign on top and are treated as almost godlike by the races below them.

Humans in this new environment form a society that operates as a confederacy, with many separate Houses, Guilds, Corporations, and Countries that make it up and have agreed to work together, but who all have a significant degree of autonomy from one another. In practice, it works similarly to the UN, but interstellar, and any faction or group of factions can choose to leave whenever they please. There are many different environs present in this society, and culture can shift greatly depending on where you are, from the greatly lawless and dangerous Outer Systems to the bureaucratic and political Core Systems, and even beyond human space in other areas of the Hegemony. There is the Central Station, where member races gather to discuss affairs, trade, and communicate, and the territories, both claimed and unclaimed, of many other factions and species and governments.

The characters will be initially regulated to being just scientists, navigators, and mercenary's hired for the initial expedition, but as the story progresses and more NPC characters and events are introduced, different character roles will be introduced for the players to have, depending on the NPC's and cultures we pass through.

So, sit back, relax, grab some snacks, and strap yourselves in for a wild ride of conspiracy, crime, adventure, and most importantly, the study of Old Earth Cultures.

Character App

Name: Ascot Rider

Age: 16

Appearance:
Image

Personality: As a sixteen-year old who's spent most of his life training and fighting, Ascot tries to project the image of a young man smart and competent beyond his years, with knolwedge of Old Earth History and Culture that gives him a 'classier' style than most child soldiers. Though a fighter and killer, the boy has - or hopes he has - a kind heart underneath it all, and deep pain inside that he finds hard to hide. Nevertheless, the burden of trying to project a mask of competence, lethality, and a 'cultured' style makes Ascot more awkward or even at a loss when confronted with things outside his skillset. But deep inside is a well of resentment at how those with power mistreat those who don't have it, including himself, and this resentment will be hard to keep in once realized. And finally, there is a loyalty to those who show him friendship.

Species/Race: Human.

Occupation/Position to be filled: Mercenary and Psion; can double as Cabin Boy or Busboy if needed.

Skills/Abilities:

Skills:

- Guns.
- Bladed Melee Weapons such as Swords and Knives.
- Old Earth and Galactic History.
- Literature (Or at least the cliffs notes versions)
- Languages (unless translator implants exist)

Abilities:

- High Intellect.
- Average Strength.
- Above-Average Physical Endurance.
- Psionic Implants placed in his brain in Early Childhood which allow him a measure of telekentic abilities, but fail to give him telepathy or similar powers.

Equipment:

- Meta-material fabrics and ceramic plates underneath that can withstand energy weapons and small arms fire.
- Plasma Pistol.
- Railgun Assault Rifle.
- Meta-material blade.
- Flash-Bang Grenades.
- Shock Collar made of psionic-resistant material.

History: Ascot's earliest memories were two loving parents smiling at him, followed by the sensation of hunger. More vivid were the men and women in white armor, some humans, some aliens, who came for him; he would later find out they were 'acquiring' test subjects. He remembered his parents shouting, as well as the sounds of hurried negotiation. Then he heard one of the men say:

"Your boy will never go hungry again," causing his parents to yield him up to the goons. The young Ascot had to admit it; it was the best way to convince his parents and him to submit quietly. He was six then.

It turned out that the boy had been sold to the Myriad Star Corporation, a joint Shivii-Human venture dedicated to reasearch on Psionics, specifically the creation of Human Psions. What happened next was a blur; injections, pain, and waking up to find that he can now move objects with his mind. Next was education with other children, education in a variety of subjects; math, science, history and literature. The intent was to create psionic mercenary bodyguards who can keep up with their 'masters' in intellectual gifts, so as not to insult their intelligence. For that was what the test subjects essentially were: Slaves who were trained to be good companions as well as fighters.

And fighting was their primary purpose, as Ascot found out at the age of thirteen, when he was judged to have sufficently developed his skills enough to kill other people. When sent for his first combat situation, the boy remembered going up against trained soldiers, and having to massacre both humans and aliens. It was sick, disgusting, and yet, thrilling at the same time. He would be sent again and again and again, even as his training continued. All the while, he was told that he would eventually free himself from the Corporation's 'indenture' if he managed to succeed in enough missions. He knew it was a lie; but there was no other hope.

Then this latest assignment, an assignment to find Earth, the Homeworld of Humanity, came. And with it, Ascot saw a chance to escape.

Character App
Name: Eren Fritz

Age: 20

Appearance:
Image

Personality: Eren likes to think of himself as a pragmatist, taking ugly-sounding decisions which are less ugly in hindsight. He tries to mitigiate the moral impact of his more questionable decisions, all the while knowing that if he doesn't, people will hate him, something he himself dislikes as he wants to be loved. This desire to be loved, which in turn comes from childhood neglect and an awareness that he is merely an adopted scion of House Fritz, sometimes causes him to lash out at his social inferiors in order to hide this weakness, which he knows ironically makes his more empaethic peers hate him more. That said, he does love his adoptive parents while longing for his birth parents, and certain revelations (in Extras) are likely to shake his emotional state once they occur...

Species/Race: Human.

Occupation/Position to be filled: The Noble who founded this expedition and acts as its official 'treasurer', as well as the expert on Old Earth History.

Skills/Abilities: Well-read, suave, and a gun and melee weapons nut, with basic proficiency in various melee and ranged weapons but mastering very few, such as the longsword.

Equipment:

- 1x Copy of Moby Dick with the inscriptions and star coordinates.
- 1x Badge showing the House Fritz symbol, a Lion devouring a Horned Devil.
- 1x Coilgun Pistol.
- 1x Shield Belt (emits a forcefield which protects his body from harm without him having to wear cumbersome armor).
- 1x Heat Longsword, a blade of meta-material alloys which uses an in-built generator to heat itself to the point where it can melt titanium, thus turning it into a powerful cutting tool.
- 4x Golden Credsticks containing a million Hegemony Credits each.
- 1x Platinum-plated Omni-Tool.
- 4x Suits of Fine Civilian Clothes.

Technically, he also owns Ascot Rider, another PC, as an indentured bodyguard.

- 1x Shock Collar Remote covered with a psionically resistant material.

History: Eren's first memories were being in a moving monorail, his birth parents smiling at him as they held his hands, hoping to get to the next car and then step off to their destination. Then after that, being seperated by the crowds, his parents screaming after him, him crying and drawing the attention of the local police, who, after failing to find his parents, took him to an orphanage ran by Jesuits. After that was warmth and comfort and good food, as well as a decent education. But Eren still missed his birth parents, he still knew they were alive somewhere. Nevertheless, he knew he had to get a good adoption, and to do that, he had to excel in his studies, he had to prove himself a genius.

It impressed even him that he managed to get the Fritz Family, one of the prime Human Houses serving the Shivii, to take him in as one of their own. For Logan Fritz and his wife, Martha, had been rendered infertile by a bioweapon used by insurgents during a petty conflict, a bioweapon keyed to their genetics. And so they adopted Eren from the Jesuits, hoping to fill an emotional void in their life as well as secure the future of their house. It should have failed, it should not have become as loving as it ended up being, but apparently, Lady Luck smiled on the boy.

Eventually, Eren began studying Old Earth History at Whisthall University, where people from all over the Hegemony gathered to learn and study together in peace. He then took electives in Old Earth Military History, specializing in medieval and modern warfare, as well as Old Earth Literature. This was how he found the paper copy of Moby Dick, a status symbol among those who valued Old Earth memorabilia. Sold in a bazaar which catered to fans of such, this paper copy seemed to be actually from Old Earth, and so Eren bought it, and while actually reading it, found the words "Find the Pequod, find your way home", along with the star coordinates, 1121365.34435.88777568.

Consulting with his professor, Eren was told that these coordinates led to unexplored space outside the Hegemony's territories. As for the Pequod, there were several dozen ships with the name, but none which had gone outside Hegemony Space. Eren was going to have to go there himself if he wanted to investigate. And Eren, for the first time in his life, wanted to do so, for the seed of adventure was sown within him. So he took a leave of absence, dipped into his trust fund, asked his parents for more money, and hired a ship and its Captain to take him exploring. And despite his personal distaste for anything which smacked of slavery, he bought an indenture-bodyguard from the Myriad Star Corporation to protect him should the Captain and their crew betray him...

EXTRA'S

Worst Thing Ever Done: Buy Ascot.
Best Thing Ever Done: Told his adoptive parents that he really cared about them - And meant it. Also making sure that they are well-taken care of in their old age.
What Do They Care About: His parents, both sets.
Greatest Fear: Crossing a moral line.
A Dark Secret They Have: He does not know this, but Ascot is his birth brother.

THE SHVII

Species App
Name: Shvii
Appearance:
Image

Government type: The Shvii are a democratic federation, and are the patron race to most other races in the Shvii Hegemony.
Technology of Note: The Shvii have advanced FTL technology, allowing them to travel immense distances using just their ships, instead of having to use the Gates. They have advanced medical technology, making disease all but a thing of the past, allowing them to reproduce without any imput from two Shvii, allowing them to live up to 12,000 years old, and so on. They have advanced A.I. and computing technology.
Information: The Shvii are the current hegemon's of the known galaxy, and are responsible for uplifting many races, most recently the Humans. They are immensely powerful and advanced, and view themselves as the inheritors of the galaxy from the Gods. They come from the planet Itsikal. They are omnivorous, though culturally their diet tends to consist of a lot of fruit. Many races view the Shvii as near gods, and practically worship them as such.

PSIONICS

Psychic Powers exist, with some species naturally possessing them (Shvii, Allameri) and some who can be 'augmented' to gain them (Humans). Psychic Powers have many variations, but the most common are telekinesis, electrokinesis, and telepathy. Pyrokinesis is uncommon but rare, while precognition is almost unheard of and unreliable (also, not allowed for PCs/OCs). Teleportation, Portal-making, and Reality Warping are not possible for a single Psion/Psychic to use, and even if possible, require hundreds, if not thousands, of powerful Pyskers to work together to even attempt...

I'm interested, since I haven't done anything like this for a long time. But are the humans still the newest addition to the hegemony, or have there been more? And are there other interstellar alien powers, or are the Shvii the only one in the Galaxy?

1.) There might have been, but it's left vague unless you want to make a new species.

2.) The only one, as far as the PCs know.

When Bass was 22 and fully graduated from his university he enrolled in the preserve Humanity project, a large interstellar collection of human intellectuals, historians and archaeologists dedicated to preserving human culture threw out human space. Population: In the dozens of billions

Currency: Terran Credit

Color scheme: Blue and White

Motto: Out of Many One

Synopsis
The Area of space within the Human confederacy that Monroe and his for fathers hail from its one of if not the oldest in what was first called the "Human Resettlement zone" given to Humanity by the Shvii Hegemony after the destruction of Earth. The currently named New Terran Sector is home to dozens of Highly populated and highly industrialized class M worlds, producing everything from Technological and construction materials to weapons and ships as well as food stuffs for the Confederacy and the Hegemony at large. Its Sector capital Terra Nova, a beautifully preserved world where the past mistakes of overpopulation and climate change where widely avoided thus giving it the nickname of "Humanity's Eden " is home to various galactically acclaimed academes both military and civilian and host's the galactic Headquarters of the Preserve Humanity Project.

This Sector is Represented in the Confederacy's wider government by the U.T.R. , a unity government of varies nation states that arose on the newly colonized worlds under a common socio-political ideology reminiscent of a hybrid of the Anglo nation states of old earth ( Such as Canada, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia and Yankee America) and the Pan-European ideology's of the European union. Using English as its lingua franca the vast majority of the population is descended from refugees from nations that in ages past made up its founding ideologies.

Origins
The U.T.R. traces its origins back to the first collection of nation-states founded after the humans initial resettlement effort. Feeling that the confederacy was to weak to truly represent human interests, along with a host of commonalities such as language, culture, economic ties and common governmental practices eventually lead to the signing of the United Republic Charter uniting the varies republics threw a series of national referendums and the eventual formation of the U.T.R. government as we are familiar with it today.

Government and politics
The United Terran Republics functions as a Federal Constitutional Republic and its head of government is a President. The government maintains executive, legislative, and judicial branches. The United Terran Senate serves as its legislative body. A number of other executive offices are known to exist, Among them exist both Secretary's and Ministers highlighting the the unity of Anglo and European government titles used in its founding republics such as for example the Minister of Colonial Affairs and the Secretary of Defense. The U.T.R is formally a federation of semi-independent worlds united under a central authority on Terra Nova with the individual planetary governments functioning as state governments in relation to the Federal government of the UTR as a whole.

Many government programs exist to promote the common cultural practices of the UTR and assist new citizens in assimilating into the general population.

Foreign relations
While on paper a full and active member of the Human Confederacy the UTR actively seeks out to establish political and economic relations with human worlds bordering its territory with the eventual goal of integrating these worlds into member republics.

The UTR also seeks to establish ties with other members of the hegemony to insure peaceful relations and pro-human attitudes among alien races and governments.

Economy
The U.T.R uses the Terran Credit monetary unit to organize its economic stability by selling or buying military equipment, supplies and costs for shipping, etc, along with every day civilian use. For transporting food and raw materials between member worlds the U.T.R. maintains a merchant navy, run by the Department of Commercial Shipping. One of the primary responsibilities of the United Republics navy is protect the interstellar commerce lanes in U.T.R space.

Military
The United Terran Space Command (With its internal sub-division of the United Terran Ground Command) is the UTR's primary military, exploratory, and scientific arm. The UNTC is intended to protect Terrans and member worlds from attack by outside threats and provide support to local security forces in disaster situations. It includes various special forces, and planetary security organizations but is composed primarily of 5 branches: the Marine Corps, the Navy, the Army, the Air Force and the recently formed Spartans Corps, (with the last one exclusively recruiting from personnel of the previous service branches) which serve as a joint air, land, and space force.

The Office of Naval Intelligence is the UTSC premier intelligence and espionage agency, the severe lack of publicly available information has given rise to numerous conspiracy theories.

The UTSC also maintains a number of scientific organizations, among them UTSC Astrophysics, while the UTSC Engineering Corps is devoted to surveying viable planets for colonization or terraforming.

Calculative and demanding, Kenju Takamado captains the Valen-Sky with a strong and authoritative grasp, having little tolerance for shoddy work and suffering no foolishness or incompetence. He holds himself to the highest standards of discipline, physical fitness, and professionalism, and expects his crew to give him the same.

Though he projects the image of a stern and emotionless commander, Kenju is someone who, deep down, cares a great deal for his men, making great effort to memorise their names from the first day they come under his employ, to every characteristic about them, believing it not only best for the cohesiveness of the crew, but also for the success of their missions. While harsh and demanding of the utmost discipline, he is nevertheless a fair commander, and does not mete out unjust punishment or grant undue favours, treating all his crew the same regardless of their background.

History
At the time of Kenju Takamado's birth, the Empire of Wado had stood for centuries as the sole power in the W36 system, which consisted of the planet W36-1 (known simply as Wado) and its three terraformed moons.

It was into a turbulent political atmosphere that Kenju Takamado was born, the second child and eldest son of Prince Jinnohyoe Takamado, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Empire and the head of the Takamado Family, one of the five collateral branches of the Imperial Family (the other four being the Inazuma, Motobu, Akiyama, and Tsugaru Families). From a young age, he was brought up in strict fashion, groomed to one day become a military officer and, eventually, to succeed his father Prince Takamado as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Even early in his life, Kenju was well aware of the politicking going on behind the scenes- though the Five Ministers sought to project a unified image, even as the Emperor ailed but clung to life, there were power plays as each of the five sought to tussle for power. The Prime Minister, Prince Kuniyuki Inazuma, led an isolationist and anti-war faction in the Senate alongside the Interior Minister, Prince Kihei Motobu, standing in direct opposition to the expansionist faction led by Defence Minister Prince Bunsai Akiyama, Economy Minister Prince Kenshin Tsugaru, and Kenju's own father, Prince Jinnohyoe Takamado. The sudden death of Prince Tsugaru, when Kenju was 14, further cemented the need he felt to remain acutely aware of the dark dealings in the political realm, and though he shunned a bodyguard, Kenju would continue to travel almost exclusively with his retainer, retired general Toshiro Fujihara, until the age of 18.

Prince Jinnohyoe Takamado died in Imperial Year 717, the 27th Year of the Gen'ei era, and though already eligible to inherit the title of Prince Takamado, the 19-year-old Kenju shunned it, choosing instead to first enroll into the Imperial Naval Academy, from which he would graduate three years later as a junior officer. He underwent specialised training in the Imperial Fleet's Special Operations Academy, and was later posted to the 10th Reconnaissance Battalion as a junior commander.

Shortly after his promotion to the rank of Captain in the year 728, at the age of 28, Kenju Takamado received a posting directly from the Hegemony itself, giving him command of the vessel Valen-Sky; as he was a known and trusted military commander with a solid track record, he had been given the reins of the ship, and was to be placed in joint command of perhaps one of the most important expeditions in recent history.

RP Sample
I have been told by many of my subordinates that I am many things. Intense, harsh, disciplinarian, even authoritarian. It doesn't matter to me. Of paramount importance is the successful prosecution of the mission and the cohesiveness of the team, in a professional environment. The manner in which I am viewed in the eyes of my men is irrelevant to me.

Word has been going around that I am being earmarked for a promotion to the rank of Captain. Understandably, it does seem that there are some concerns given my present appointments and the glut of the middle ranks, though I am under no illusions that I, having already served as a Lieutenant for the greater part of five years, am no doubt in good position to receive such a promotion, it appearing to have little to do with the Takamado name. Nevertheless, it is with a mild sense of trepidation that I receive this news. The rank of Captain is inevitably a harbinger for numerous other appointments far different from the one I have become accustomed to. It shall require no small amount of effort on my part to ensure that I am sufficiently prepared for what is to come.

No doubt, there is also pressure from the Genro for me to finally accept the title of Prince Takamado. Though I already bear the title in name, to accept it officially would be a move fraught with political connotation. I pray that when the time comes, and I no longer can postpone my acceptance of my late father's styles and appointments, that I may then have the wisdom and the acumen to lead, and that Heaven may protect me from the ill will of such schemers and manipulators as Princes Inazuma and Akiyama.

- Kenju

Species App
Name: Allameri
Appearance:
Image

Government type: The central government of the Allameri is technically a federation, built up of representatives from each of the Twelve Fleets, though they are more akin to a federation of tribes due to their disparate and wandering nature as a people.
Technology of Note: With most Allameri living their entire lives on star ships, there is little by way of growing food and gaining water. As a result, the Allameri's life support systems are considered some of the greatest in the galaxy, especially their hydroponics and water recycling abilities, which are unmatched. Additionally, though it is not exactly a technology in the traditional sense, the Allameri are considered some of the greatest Psionics in the galaxy, with nearly all of them being born with at least some innate ability.

Additionally, Aramelli weapons are unique due to the scarcity inherent to their society. Aramelli rarely have the resources needed to mass produce their own weapons, and instead most are forced to either build their own weapons or buy them from specialized weapon smiths, known as aepladimi in their own language. Most traditional Aramelli weapons are rail guns, with an internal block of lead used as the weapons ammunition. Small pieces, roughly the size of a grain of sand, are shaved off with every round and propelled down the barrel at supersonic speeds, greatly increasing their power despite their small size. This however creates a massive amount of heat, and therefore, most Aramelli guns are susceptible to overheating. To counteract this, most aepladimi also craft thermal sinks, small cylinders meant to be able to absorb the head generated by the weapon, and able to be ejected and reloaded quickly, so as to avoid overheating of the weapon and keeping an Aramelli warrior in the fight for longer and with less time out of the fight.
Information:
The Allameri did not evolve, they were made, created millions of years ago by an unknown race to be the custodians and caretakers of Central Station, or Chresetha as they refer to it in their own language. In time, for reasons unknown even to the Allameri, the Precursors disappeared from the galaxy and have never returned. Some speculate they were killed by a plague, others that they ascended to a higher plain of existence. What is known however, is that the Allameri, their numbers initially kept artificially small were now able to spread out and live on their own, their Chresetha becoming their homeward. The anti matter power generators kept the lights on, the spiral of the station gave them gravity, and the hydroponics labs grew them all they would ever need to survive. And for thousands of years, they lived a peaceful existence on Chresetha. However, eventually, their population had grown indefinitely, and parts of the station had started to break down from wear and tear. The Allameri began to know war, as they fought over hydroponics and sections of the station where there was still power, fighting with the ancient weapons of their creator. After seven rotations of Chresetha, one side was victorious, the Atreme tribe, who cast out their greatest rivals, the Meralane, into the great void beyond. The Atreme ruled over Chresetha and the small tribes beneath them, and the Meralane became the first explorers of the Allameri, tasked with taking the old ships of their creators into the black to find the resources needed to keep their holy Chresetha alive.

The Meralane were some of the first to map large swaths of the stars, and became experienced in traversing the void. Behind them, other tribes followed suit, such as the Capanore, the Chiirit, the Setta. As time went on, the Atreme ruling over Chresetha still and the Four Fleets exploring the stars, a religion began to grow. The Precursors were their creators, a race of gods from before, who the Allameri were destined to become like one day, and leave behind their own reclaimer race in their wake to continue the cycle of life and godhood. Chresetha was their great homeland, the giver of life, where love, rebirth and society would stem from. And beyond, among the stars, was the Void, the stars the spirits of the ancient ones who had made them, and the place where through exploration their people could discover the path to godhood for themselves.

It was during their explorations of the stars that the tribe Setta met the Shvii, a race who had just begun to spread into the stars. Unlike the Allameri, who shunned planets, viewing them as the domain of lesser beings unfit for their place among the stars, the Shvii prized planets, having come from one themselves. This was alien and unheard of for the Allameri, though it was decided that, the Shvii must be here for a reason, they gods would not place them there for nothing. Hoping to teach the Shvii the path to godhood, the Allameri brought them to Chresetha, the most holy sight of all. The Shvii however, wanted to explore deep within the station, an ancient taboo for the Allameri. The Shvii delved deep within Chresetha and stole the property of the ancients, old star maps, weapons, blueprints, and were cast out of Chresetha, never to return again. And they didn't, not for some time, though around them they had built a vast empire after reverse engineering the technologies they had taken. And when they did return, there was nothing the Allameri could do to stop them. They were conquered and subjugated, forced back into their ancient roles as curators of Chresetha, and as time went on and more and more aliens began to appear on holy Chresetha, the Allameri increasingly had no where left to live, and fled their home in droves, escaping to the stars where they could be safe.

Now as the Twelve Fleets, the Allameri travel the stars massive fleets of starships. They live mostly at the edge of civilized space in ships covered in intricate murals and beautiful hydroponic gardens. Though their efforts of mapping the stars, a task they still take very seriously, has made some something of an unofficial race of scouts for the Shvii, they do not technically exist within the Hegemony, and are not considered true citizens. As a result, they have no legal rights in Shvii space, and are viewed as thieves and scavengers by the galaxy at large, though this greatly diminishes their rich culture. The Shvii are viewed as blasphemers and the Allameri believe that they are interlopers sent to test their resolve. Though they are willing to work with the Shvii and sell their maps for the money they need to survive, they are unsurprisingly no friends of the Shvii, and now believe that the final step to godhood will come with the reclamation of Chresetha. It is believed that one day, a great soul will be born into the Allameri, who will be known as the Reclaimer of Runes. The Reclaimer of Runes will be the first and last Allameri to delve into the depths of Chresetha, and receive the same visions and knowledge that allowed the Shvii to grow so powerful from within. With this knowledge in hand, the Reclaimer of Runes will lead the Twelve Fleets in the creation of their own reclaimer species, the cleansing of the galaxy of those who would do them harm and enlightenment of those who were kind to them. And from there, they will finally be ready for their last journey, ascending to godhood with their creators and leaving the galaxy for the next species after them.

THE TWELVE FLEETS
Allameri society is divided into twelve fleets. Each of these fleets is lead by their captains, who form a council, and an admiral, elected from within the council. They decide on where they will go, what to do about important events, and who they can and cant trust. Additionally, every fleet has a Council of Mothers, those responsible for maintaining both Allameri tradition and culture, and also acting as priests of their religion. Much like there is a captain for every ship, there is also a Mother. From among the Council the Great Mother is selected. These twelve, one for every fleet, are considered to be the most knowledgeable on Allameri history, culture, tradition and religion.

Though the twelve fleets do not always get along (in fact, the Atreme Fleet and the Meralane fleet, being the ancestors of those who fought the Allameri resource wars, are long and bitter rivals) they still all gather once every rotation to discuss events of the galaxy and trade with one another. Though they do not get along, ever since the exodus a core tenant of Allameri society is unity and protection from outsiders.

The Allameri are unique among the races of the galaxy for several reasons concerning their biology. For one, unlike most other intelligent species who are omnivorous or carnivorous, the Allameri are herbivores, having been bred by their creators to be able to survive on Center Station, or Chresetha as they call it, using solely the stations vast hydroponics labs.

Most famously, the Allameri are a monogendered race. Most outside of the Allameri describe them all as female, though the Allameri reject this term themselves, believing that they have no gender, though they do acknowledge the presence of gender in other races. It is unknown why they were made by their creators to be monogendered, but it is speculated that, due to their roles as caretakers and curators of Chresetha before their creators ascended, it was meant to make them more approachable. It is also speculated (especially outside of the Allameri) that their monogenderedness was because whoever their creators were had very strict gender roles, and therefore it would have bee considered culturally inappropriate to have male members of their species acting in the role that the Allameri once filled.

Allameri reproduction however, considering that they are monogendered, is considered exceptionally unique. Though they give birth to live young, and reproduce sexually as opposed to asexually, their version of it is unlike anything else. Allameri are capable of taking in the DNA from others through skin to skin contact, mixing this DNA with their own to create a child. However, this process is only initiated when an Allameri has deep feelings of romantic love for another. For this reason, it is very common for Allameri to wear gloves at nearly all times, unless around their spouse or lover, as it is a form of birth control.

A rather inconsequential aspect of the Allameri, but they have exceptional night vision. Because of this, their eyes can shine if hit by the light the right way.

Allameri have a very long lifespan when compared to most other species, the only ones who consistently live longe than them being the Shvii. When well cared for, an Allameri can easily live to be five hundred years old. However, due to the conditions they have been forced into, it is uncommon for any other than the Mother to live this long. Instead, most Allameri live to be between three hundred and four hundred.

Finally, Allameri are also quite famous for their advanced psionic abilities. Almost all Allameri are born with these abilities, though it is more advanced than in others. In general, those with the greatest ability become Great Mothers or warriors, tasked with protecting the Fleets.

Chresetha is the Allameri name for Central Station. They believe Chresetha, what is essentially their homeworld, is a gift from the gods and a holy temple to their greatness. They believe that when they one day discover the path to godhood themselves, it will also become a holy temple to them as well and the place where the species the Allameri create will begin their own journey. To go deep in Chresetha is considered on of the greatest taboos, as only the Reclaimer of Runes is considered worthy of this honor.

Allameri all wear gloves at almost all times, unless they are in private with very close friends or with their lover (known as a karassin, which roughly translates to mate or partner.) This is because when an Allameri feels romantic love for another, mere physical touch with another Allameri, regardless of whether they know one another, can cause a pregnancy. So, the gloves came to be initially as a form of birth control, but which has since evolved into a symbol of wealth and status. Black for commoners, blue for Mothers, red for military, black and gold for those who own multiple ships (and captains under their employ,) black and red for admirals of the Council, and black and blue for Great Mothers.

All Allameri are encouraged to go on a pilgrimage to Chresetha, if they ever have the chance too. While it is not illegal to never see Chresetha, it is considered a great honor to the gods to see the monument to their greatness. Atreme Fleet and Meralane Fleet both maintain temples on the station, at the former locations of their peoples homes before the exodus. These temples, protected by mercenaries and NGO's funded by species sympathetic to the Allameri's plight, are the last two places on the station where any Allameri live. Currently, of the millions who reside on Chresetha, only 15,000 are Allameri.

In art, due to the way their eyes can shine when in the right lighting, Allameri often depict themselves with glowing eyes.

Allameri all wear tattoos on their faces, and these tattoos can tell someone an awful lot about that Allameri's background. Tattoos can tell you the kind of ship they grew up on, weather or not they have been on a pilgrimage to Chresetha, the fleet they came from, the history of their family, and even occupation.

When greeting one another, it is customary to place ones hands to the side, feet together and bow. Among the Mothers, the customary greeting is a kiss on each cheek. For the captains and admirals, the customary greeting is to place ones right hand over their heart in a fist, their left hand behind their back in a fist, and bow.

Never insult an Allameri's ship unless you want to get shot, stabbed, or thrown out of an airlock.

Ships will often paint intricate murals on their hulls, telling the ships story. Few ships are built exclusively by Allameri any more, and therefore, they often have very unique and colorful histories, which the Allameri are careful to depict as well as the ships history with their fleets. Some of these ships have had particularly dark histories (being owned by slavers, killers, terrosists and pirates) and even still the the Allameri believe in being honest about the history of their ship through its murals. (Some of these ships are even believed to be haunted by vengeful spirits.)

The Allameri age of majority is eighty five, and though many young Allameri consider themselves to be adults by this point, they are still largely looked down upon throughout their eighties, nineties and early hundreds, considered to still be naive and immature until they are around one hundred and fifty. During this time, most Allameri are encouraged to go out into the galaxy and explore, to the Chresetha, meet others of different races, and bring back things that could culturally or materialistically enrich the fleet.

Allameri follow a complicated and extended series of naming conventions. They have both given and family names, but also names that indicate their grandparents, as well as the name of their ship of birth and whatever ship they live on as adults. Traditionally, their given name comes first, followed by their family name. A family name is built up from a combination of their two parents family names, with whichever parent gave birth coming first. From there their parents two family names, along with "child of," come next, honoring the childs grandparents. The parents of the parent who did not give birth come first in this instance. Next is their ship of births name (along with the suffix born upon) and the ship they crew ons name (along with the suffix crew of) and then finally their fleet (along with the suffix "of.")

So for example, a full Allameri name could be Tarina'Katidessa'pato'Meretshi'pato'Kaminara'gennthike'Hessatite'pliona'Sova'to'Atreme, which would translate to Tarina Katidessa, child of Meretshi, child of Kaminara, born upon Hessatite, crew upon Sova, of Atreme. Additionally, every name typically has a diminutive, used by close friends and family.

It should be noted however that these names are both extremely formal and usually only used for official documents, as a persons name can be used to determine their family history and their inheritance. In day to day life, most Allameri will only go by their given and family names, or diminutive names when with those they are close with.

Metranee: Mother
Metraktane: Great Mother
Toss: Captain
Tovale: Admiral
Aepladimi: A weapon smith. Most Allameri weapons are hand made aboard their ships from parts bought elsewhere, and those who make them are know as Aepladimi.
Biraskosos: A Biraskosos is an Aramelli's birth mother.
Afiskosos: An Afiskosos is an Aramelli's "touch mother," or the mother who did not give birth to the child but is still their parent. Due to the fluidity of how Aramelli reproduction works, an afiskosos is not always a childs actual biological parent, but its treated with the same reverence, as they are the one there to raise their child.

Chresetha: The Allameri name for Central Station, considered their homeworld.
Plethius: The exodus, the name for the Allameri being cast out of Chresetha by the Shvii.
Prademis: The precursors, the great creators, the gods. This is the Allameri term for the ones who engineered their species and built Central Station.
Karassin: Karassin is a complicated word, and often times can mean something different to whoever uses it. Its direct translation means "sweet one," but it is most often translated to mean "lover, mate or partner," though any Allameri will tell you that a karassin is much more than that."

Chernai senai spiti: Translates to mean "gloveless in a whore house." In essence, this phrase means to go into a situation unprepared, like an Allameri going into a whore house without their gloves on.
Perakenai net sae parei: A common exclamation and curse. It roughly translates to mean "may the void take you."
Shviisolas: A vulgar insult. Roughly translates to mean "shvii fucker." It is most often used to refer to someone as cowardly and spineless, or a traitor.
Coptice pampt: Genrally the most vulgard thing an Allameri can say. It roughly translates to mean "unwashed genitals," but due to the forcefulness of the words that make it up, it has come to be considered the most vulgar saying in their language.

Character App
Name: Sanzhar Androvich Chernenko
Age: 27
Appearance:
Image

He is 5'6" tall and weighs 57 kilograms.

Personality: Seemingly a little aloof with a pair of very, very observant eyes, Sanzhar is an inquisitive treasure hunter, seeking ancient wealth to… well, make himself rich. He doesn’t mind sharing blessings, though, and could be thought of as being a tad bit generous. Still, he always has secrets, with any questions about his early life being redirected towards softer topics. Surprisingly, for someone that has spent the last half decade as part of a troupe of sellswords, Sanzhar places a price on loyalty, and will rush to the defence of an ally that is being bullied/assaulted/teased, with severe consequences for anyone that dares encroach on someone that is in his good side.
Species/Race: Human Psion
Occupation/Position to be filled: Marksman Mercenary
Skills/Abilities:

Marksmanship: Sanzhar is a highly skilled sharpshooter, pruned first by being taught to hunt in the frozen forests of his homeland, serving in the army, and then turning to treasure hunting, which has its fair share of dangers.

Psychic Furnace: Sanzhar is a psion, granted the ability to produce electric energy though implants since childhood. He is unable to focus it without a medium; and as such, it is primarily used to power the anti-material rifle he uses. He can, however, electrocute someone through direct physical contact if he wants. This isn’t advisable though, given that his skillset dictates for him to have maximum distance between himself and opponents.

Equipment:

Esperanza (M100 Anti-Material Rifle) - A modified anti-material rifle, tailored to safely absorb electric energy from Sanzhar’s psyker powers to fuel its electromagnetic firing system. It fires solid kinetic slugs, and has high penetration and accuracy in exchange for a slow reload cycle.

E70 Assault Pistol - Close ranged sidearm.

Personal Energy Shield Projector - Forms a small shield that can protect from several rounds of small arms fire. Or an angry form of local wildlife.

Reactive Mesh Armor - Appears as some kind of chain mail that hardens upon impact, offering a measure of protection while giving higher mobility. Best against small arms.

History: Sanzhar comes from the northern hemisphere of the world of Solvero, one of the planets with a sizable human community. He lived on the edge of civilization in the town of Talavont, beyond which was a forest of frost and terrifying fauna. Or so the stories said. There haven’t been, after all, any sort of animal incidents in the seven years that he lived in Talavont. Other than the almost daily hunting trips that his father, uncle, and brother partook in to go and get some meat for their dinner table, he never even saw the creatures that these legends spoke of.

However, the day when his life was changed came just before his eighth birthday, when white armored soldiers on personnel carriers came to the isolated town, taking whoever they pleased, usually with some kind of promised compensation; whether that promise came to pass, Sanzhar can never know. All he now knows is that the Myriad Corporation has decided that he will make a good test subject for their psionics research, and was injected with impossible substances that flooded his young nerves with pain as searing as the sun that he saw only six months a year.

The result? Failure. In the tests leading up to his eleventh birthday, Sanzhar was deemed to have low affinity for psionics, producing a massive amount of energy only for it to stay within, locked under an impossible amount of mental blocks. He had potential to be a shining psyker, they all said. But he can’t shoot lightning out of his fingers, unlike his peers. They moved objects with their thoughts, read minds, and made barriers of energy, but Sanzhar, in practice, was completely useless as a pure psion. However, a compromise was found. While he can’t shoot lightning, he can aim and fire a gun, better than most, the examiners added. It took a while to get it to work, but when Sanzhar was 15, he was given a sniper rifle that could channel his pent up energy to be used in its electromagnetic firing system… and was thus sent towards the front.

Terrible were those days, indeed. The sweet winter child, now forced to kill. But it was compliance or death, and he chose to comply, many, many times. Even if it hurts every single time.

Seven years later, he was able to leave the army behind. First he went home to Talavont… only to find ruination. What kind of disaster unfolded there, he cannot tell nor will he ever know. The one thing he was sure of now was that there was no home to return to, no surviving family to find solace with. Just himself.

And so he went. He found and joined a troupe of treasure hunters, with whom he braved untold dangers in the ruins of fallen civilizations and the void of shattered starships, all to find wealth. Some of them died. Many survived, bringing to their homes the wealth of forgotten peoples. But while he garnered some serious coin, such an achievement felt empty.

But as he trudged through the streets of the capital, he heard a story. A man by the name of Eren Fritz had found evidence of the location of Old Earth itself. Sanzhar remembered the stories that his parents' parents had passed down from their parents before then, the story of humanity's ancient past. Terra, the cradle of humanity and a world of natural beauty, abused and destroyed in the hands of greedy men that sought war; Mars, the once dead red world brought into life by the hard work of generation after generation, only for it to be wasted by the greed of humanity. And so on.

As so, he sought out this ship that would go towards the shadow beyond their borders, believing that this endeavour will be something worthwhile, something that is of more value than silver and gold. To find the truth, and what lies could have been told to them.

And maybe get some coin along the way.

When they tell me death has come for those I love, you will find me at the frontline, las-rifle in hand. There is no place else for me but to guard my home. For as long as the Imperium stands so do they I love. Should I sell my life then it would be the least I pay.

I thought up an application, but just a question, why do we have to live on space stations if we're aliens?

No, you dont. The Allameri live in spaceships because they believe planets are the domains of lesser beings, but your race can have their own planets and worlds if you want them too.

Character App
(Do not alter the app, beyond removing things in parenthesis, please)
Name: Rhisstrassina'Adristen'pato'Deltri'pato'Siska'gennthike'Kella'pliona'Maravas'to'Chiirit (Rhithri as diminutive)
Age: 137
Appearance:
Image
For those familiar with Aramelli tattooing practices, Rhisstrassina's tattoos can tell someone a lot about her history. The two lines over her eyes indicate that she was born on a freighter, and the two dots on her forehead indicate that her family were shipwrights. The central design on her forehead indicates that she is Chiirit, with the arms extending from the bottom indicating that she has been on a pilgrimage to Chresetha. The two designs extending from the top indicate that she has studied aboard the ship Sellamiore, and the small little outcroppings from the central design now indicate that she has military training.

Personality: Intelligent, thoughtful and well educated. Rhisstrassina has generally kept to herself and her family, though she is also generally friendly and polite, the type with a twinkle in her eye that hints at an inner flirtatious and mischievous nature, which often becomes apparent due to her sarcastic mirth and wit.

Though she tries to be understanding and pleasant, she nonetheless has a tendency to let her temper get the better of her, and has a habit of sticking her nose where it doesn't belong. Additionally she is an exceptionally skilled Psion, and knows this, though often she can overestimate herself and her abilities because of this.

Though she is a member of the Chiirit militia, Rhisstrassina abhors needless violence and cruelty. She is, despite her outward appearance of a happy go lucky traveler, deeply religious, and believes completely that it is the destiny of the Aramelli to reclaim Chresetha, and ascend to godhood while leaving their knowledge behind for those who will come after.
Species/Race: Aramelli Psion
Occupation/Position to be filled: Navigator, mechanic, scout
Skills/Abilities: The Gift Of The Ancestors: Rhisstrassina is a Psion, a skill most of her race possess. Capable of the manipulation of matter, she is able to lift and move anything up to and including her size, as well as produce shockwaves of psychic energy to blast her opponents away, or drag them closer to herself.

Knowledge Of The Mothers: Rhisstrassina is well educated, having been able to access the schools that the elites typically gain through her families important work as shipwrights. Because of this, she has been able to gain an extensive wealth of knowledge about her people and their society and culture.

Trained By The Masters: Rhisstrassina is a member of the Chiirit Fleet Militia, and has ben extensively trained in how to fight and survive. A positive consequence of such long lifespans, Allameri warriors are able to be trained for decades in the art of war.

Child Of The Shipwrights: Rhisstrassina's family are shipwrights, tasked with repairing and maintaining the ships of the fleet. Having been raised by them, she has picked up many skills that can come in handy for keeping a ship up and running.
Equipment:
Image
The Sword Of The Reclamation is an old weapon, and has been aboard Rithri's home ship for as long as she has been alive, and at least since the Aramelli bought the ship. Named for the massive bayonet attached to it, it is prophesied by her ships Mother that this rifle will be integral to the reclamation of Chresetha. Rithri doesnt know about that, but she is quite fond of it, and feels proud it was given to her upon the start of her journey.

Image
A weapon crafted aboard the Aramelli battleship Argi Toh Thea, and bought by Rithri before she set out into the galaxy when she was 91. It is a submachine gun, and is considered quite valuable and exotic due to its compact size and impressive heat distribution, able to fire up to fifty rounds before its thermal sink needs to be replaced.

Image
Makers Mercy was a gift from a friend, Rhisstrassina has owned it for most of her life, but never had much use for it other than to let it look pretty on her wall. Small enough to be tucked in a waistband or hidden in a jacket, it serves its purpose well, though it would struggle against any opponents in significant armor.

History: 137 years ago, a child was born upon a small ship to unspectacular parents. They were simple shipwrights, traveling to the other ships of their fleet to repair and maintain them, along with their extended family and relatives who lived aboard the freighter Kella. They earned a comfortable if not glamorous living in the smallest of the Twelve Fleets. Their tribe was Chiirit, one of the first to enter the stars and leave behind Chresetha, and one of the last to leave it behind when the Shvii came. The child was named Rhisstrassina, or One Thousand Flowers in the Humans tongue, and she was cared for and loved immensely by her mothers and cousins.

For years, she spent her time scurrying about the hulls and ventilation shafts of the Kella and the Chiirit ships they would maintain, happily conning other young Aramelli in childhood games and stealing fruit from the hydroponics labs. Her mothers were less than happy about her antics, doing their best to keep Rhisstrassina in line, but with little success. No matter how many times they had her clean their quarters, scrubs the Kellas decks and walls, Rhissassina was never one to be deterred, and she continued on with her antics without a care in the world. Though, it could be argued that her afiskosos was no help, she could never bring herself to punish her only daughter too severely.

In time, as Rhisstrassina reached her late twenties, her official schooling drew ever closer, and she was prepared for it extensively by her mothers. On her thirtieth birthday, a trio of Metranee's came to the Kella to collect the Rhisstrassina and her cousins, and brought them to the colony ship Sellamiore, where an extensive school was operated on the upper decks. Rhisstrassina hated it, but it could not be denied that she had the mind for it. She was fascinated by the ancient history of her people, their ways and traditions, and by the heroic legends of the Chiirit, the ones who had fought the longest to defend Chresetha from the Shvii. She did not enjoy the structure of it, and much of her time aboard the Sellamiore was spent being chased to classes, dragged from atop of tall structures, or hauled back to school by the ships guards after catching her and other school children skipping class below decks. But, one thing did come of her fifty years aboard the Sellamiore, other than her learning all she could of her peoples culture and history. She met her oldest friend, Kalliet, though Rhisstrassina always just called her by her diminutive, Kalli. They did not like one another at first, Kalli thought Rhisstrassina was an annoying rabble rouser, and Rhisstrassina thought Kalli was a bland know it all. But they did have one thing in common, they were common children, both of them born and raised on small freighters who's parents worked as lowly shipwrights. They did not fit in at this school, where most were from more respectable positions, like farmers, and scholars, or even captains. Some even said that the Chiirit Admirals daughter attended the school, but no one ever saw her, and most figured she would probably attend a more famous school like the ones in Atreme. After they learned this about one another, it didn't take long for Rhisstrassina to extend a great formality to Kalli.

"Call me Rhithri," she said, "no one else here will."

When Rhisstrassina returned home after turning eighty, she came armed with education, and an overwhelming desire to get out and see more of the galaxy. She wanted to see the other Fleets, read their murals, visit Chresetha, and maybe even talk with other races. She was particularly curious about humans, while aboard the Sellamiore the Fleet had picked up a stranded human ship and dropped them at the next station they passed. She had only seen them twice, once as the children in the school all crowded around trying to see the strangers aboard their ship when they first arrived and a second time in a massive food court on her day off. They huddled together, obviously uncomfortable in the new environment, unaware of the Aramelli's customs or way of life, and clearly not wanting to get in the way. Rhisstrassina couldn't help herself, and went up to them and bowed deeply, hands at her side and feet together like she had been taught. "Are you soldiers?" she asked them when she straightened back up, "I heard that all Humans are soldiers, that Humans are the best soldiers in the galaxy."

"We're just freighters," said the one who seemed to be their leader. He looked strange. Some of the Humans looked like Aramelli, but some of the others looked different, tall and broad, with square jaws and boring hair. She thought they looked like an Aramelli drawn by a person who had only been given a basic description of Aramelli.

"I grew up on a freighter!" Rhisstrassina declared excitedly, "my parents are shipwrights, they help keep the whole fleet moving."

"Thats very impressive," said the Human again, before a second one beside the leader, one of the ones that looked more like an Aramelli spoke up.

"How do we eat this food?" the human asked, "there are no forks or chopsticks."

"You use the leaves," Rhisstrassina said, "you can pick up the cooked stuff with it and keep your fingers clean. But those are keptet leaves, mallotiat leaves taste better I think, they're the purple ones. I'm Rhisstrassina by the way."

She had never seen any aliens since, even though they had come to space stations a few times since then. The children aboard Sellamiore were instructed to stay aboard, and that the adults would handle the trading. But now, at eighty, then eighty one, eighty two, rapidly approaching eighty five, Rhisstrassina wanted desperately to meet more. Especially humans. They were so interesting and strange, and if the stories were true, they must see all sorts of interesting things being soldiers so much.

When she was finally eighty five, both her family and Kalli's family agreed to pool the supplies necessary for their children to go on a pilgrimage to Chresetha, and excitedly the two friends met up for their first adventure beyond the Fleet. They boarded a small civilian ship, along with other pilgrims, and set off through the gates to their people ancient homeland. There, they were told to be very careful, despite the status of Chresetha as a holy monument to the Prademis, those who occupied it now did not like Allameri. They were viewed as thieves and cone artists, and the pilgrims were told to be on their best behavior at all times, unless in the havens controlled by Atreme and Meralane. Host families greeted them at the port, along with armed guards to protect them, most of whom were human, but there were even a couple of Shvii among them. Kalli and Rhisstrassina were both put up in separate homes, Rhisstrassina with the Atreme and Kalli with the Meralane, but they still spent as much of their time together while they explored the station. (Only during the day cycle, only in well lit public spaces, and always on their best behavior.) It was beautiful, there were statues and murals everywhere that their people once lived. They visited what had once been the Chiirit district, where the murals stopped a little after the Aramelli Civil War, which now continued on the hulls of their ships. But the most exciting part was the people. Rhisstrassina had never seen so many people from so many walks of life. There were beggars on some corners, Shvii in beautiful robes who would wander the halls, small drones skirting around the ceilings and traders of all stripes hawking their wares in the squares. Rhisstrassina tried a fruit sold to her by one, an ugly bug who stood on four tall spindly legs, and became violently ill not long after, throwing up the mysterious fruit into a trash incinerator and laughing maniacally at the situation. Their host family insisted that she go to a doctor, and the doctor explained that no, Rhisstrassina was fine, but that she should never eat a fruit she didn't know again. Rhisstrassina didn't need them to tell her that, but she appreciated the thought.

Upon her return to Chiirit, Rhisstrassina had made up her mind about one thing. She would be a warrior, a scout, do all she could to see as much of the galaxy and its people. There was so much more out there than the cramped halls of Allameri ships, and Rhisstrassina wanted to experience it. After three years of training and reading, her parents and grandparents presented Rhisstrassina with a gift, their ancestral weapon, the Sword of Reclamation. Every warrior needed their weapon after all, and it was cheaper to gift her one than to pay for one to be build. Rhisstrassina hitched a ride to the Chiirit capital ship, Kolmosat, where she signed on to join the Chiirit militia. It was hard work, painful work, but it was worth it for Rhisstrassina's goals. When she completed her basic training, she opted to continue with more training, learning to pilot a personal craft, and being shown the basics of survival and staying hidden, in order to join the Scout Corp and go out into the galaxy.

Finally, after a near decades worth of training, Rhisstrassina was ready to go out into the galaxy on behalf of her people. There were monuments to the Prademis greatness everywhere, places where the Allameri could stop and resupply in safety and peace, and many of which had yet to be discovered. After earning her wings and being assigned a craft, Rhisstrassina took her first real paycheck and travelled to the battleship Argi Toh Thea, and bought a weapon of her own, and set out into the galaxy to discover.

Now, after 41 years of exploration and travel, Rhisstrassina has gotten word of a human ship, the Valen Sky and its hired crew. Apparently a book was discovered, something bizarre and mysterious with a message and star coordinate written inside. She does not know what this could mean, but she does know the Aramelli may want to know. So, heading to the planet where she has been instructed to find this makeshift crew, Rhisstrassina hopes to sign on and assist in their discoveries.
RP Sample: Homies?

EXTRA'S
Worst Thing Ever Done: Rhisstrassina has, at least by Aramelli standards, not been around for particularly long, and has had few opportunities to do anything particularly bad. In general, she is a good person, a happy go lucky young Aramelli just experiencing the galaxy at large for the first time. If you were to ask her though, she would probably tell you the worst thing she has ever done was a long list of cons and thefts as a child, tricking other kids into giving her their things or stealing fruits from the hydroponics labs on the larger ships.
Best Thing Ever Done: Once again, Rhisstrassina has yet to do anything of particular note. If you were to ask her though, she would probably tell you the best thing she has ever done is stick up for her younger cousins when other children bullied them.
What Do They Care About: Rhisstrassina loves her people, her Fleet, and their culture and history. She dreams of discovering new remnants of the Prademis for her people to reclaim.
Greatest Fear: Rhisstrassina fears that her and her people will fade into obscurity, never to achieve their great destiny of ascension to godhood. Being as religious as she is, she refuses to let these thoughts fester, but they still needle away in the back of her mind nonetheless.
A Dark Secret They Have: Rhisstrassina would never admit it, but her desire to see Chresetha back under the control of her people has left her somewhat of a fanatic. She does not hate individual Shvii, but does hate the Shvii Hegemony, and would do anything to see it dismantled and her people back in their home, its occupiers expelled into the void.

In addition to what The Twelve Isles says, its more like the only places Aliens (and other crew) can be picked up are space stations as those are where we're recruiting from.

Hey, glad to see this back again! Thought I'd bring back my character from the previous iteration, if that's alright:

Species App
Name: Quihansu
Appearance:
Image

Having evolved on a planet with an abnormally extensive cloud cover that exposed the native species to very little sunlight, the Quihansu developed pale skin, with grey hair and piercing silver eyes. They also have small, bony ridges on their forehead and pointed ears which contribute to their sensitive hearing.
Government type: Ostensibly an elective absolute monarchy, though the Senate has gained considerable power over the past few generations and the increasing checks and balances they've been gaining has rendered the government closer to a constitutional monarchy.
Technology of Note: The Quihansu possess advanced cloaking technology, and utilize plasma-based energy weapons
Information: The most notable feature of the Quihansu is their prodigious lifespan, it is not uncommon for members of the species to live for as long as 10,000 years. They are also quite strong, being roughly three times as strong as humans on average, as well as being quite agile and dexterous. Additionally, most Quihansu have some basic telepathic abilities, though they require physical contact to use. The most famous of these abilities is the merging of minds, which enables Quihansu to temporarily unite their consciousnesses or probe another's mind.

On the downside, the Quihansu have an exceptionally low chance of conception, such that over a millennia long marriage a couple will seldom be able to have more than three or four children. This has kept their species population relatively stable over their history, and is the main reason they've never attempted to colonize other worlds. Additionally, due to the conditions on Mol'Kiarda, the Quihansu have a low tolerance for bright light, and are highly vulnerable to radiation injury. They also possess sensitive hearing, which makes loud noises particularly disorienting.

As they've only recently become known to the rest of the Galaxy, and due to their secretive nature, very little is known of the Quihansu outside of Mol'Kiarda, and they still have an almost mythical status to most species besides the Shvii. As most Quihansu have no desire to leave their homeworld, extremely few outsiders have ever actually encountered a member of the species, and it's not uncommon for the few Quihansu who have travelled to be mistaken as peculiar-looking humans.

The Quihansu are an ancient species native to the planet Mol'Kiarda, and the only sapient species to evolve in their solar system. A peculiar anomaly in their system's star blocked all scans of the system and effectively hid it from all exploration vessels, which allowed the Quihansu to evolve and develop with no interference from other species. This resulted in their developing at a much slower rate than many other species who were uplifted by more advanced civilizations, but it also meant they were entirely self-reliant for their technological and social advancement.

After settling their first civilizations, it wasn't long before nations began to form and war against each other. For thousands of years, Empires would rise and fall through wars, revolutions, plagues, and the usual causes while the Quihansu continued to advance their technologies and culture to better meet the threats they faced. Eventually technology advanced to the point where all surviving civilizations on the planet became embroiled in a final conflict known in their language as "Na Daer Aish" or "The Greatest of All Wars." The war dragged on for four decades and resulted in the deaths of nearly one-tenth of their entire population, but one civilization finally emerged victorious: the Elenath Empire.

Fortunately, the Elenath Empire was by far the most rational of the competing factions in the war, and upon annexing their former opposing civilizations, they sought unification rather than punishment, and began the "Saith Elenath" or Elenath Peace which lasted for some 30,000 years. The end of the war and the ensuing peace brought about a golden age for the Quihansu people, and great strides were made in technology, art, craftsmanship, and philosophy. Before long, the Quihansu began a space program which would culminate in their first FTL capable starship.

Ever cautious, the Quihansu vessel was equipped with a cloaking device to minimize risk of revealing their civilization to more advanced civilizations, and rather than make official first contact with an alien government, the crew met with a merchant who agreed to exchange data on numerous species for some of the perfectly-crafted Quihansu goods. The unique and beautifully crafted Quihansu goods would go on to become priceless treasures throughout the Galaxy, and the flawless jewelry in particular would go on to become status symbols for the wealthiest of the wealthy.

The now very wealthy merchant naturally wanted to continue getting supplied by the Quihansu, and so collected a great deal of data on hundreds of species and systems, as well as technological data, to exchange for more of their jewelry. In this way, the Quihansu were able to explore much of the Galaxy and greatly improve their technology without ever having to do much exploring themselves. When the merchant eventually died, the Quihansu continued their arrangement with his descendants, and over time the question of the Quihansu's existence became a popular mystery in many systems, and countless theories were made and debated as to who or what they might truly be, if they even existed at all.

A few decades ago, one man in particular, the Regent of the Urokrah Imperium, became particularly interested in the existence of the Quihansu, but not for any scholarly reasons. The Urokrahn Regent was determined to invade and conquer a neighboring enemy civilization, but his treasury was virtually empty so he needed some means to fund a major war. Having inherited a priceless Quihansu artifact upon his coronation, he learned of the great value of such Quihansu trinkets, and decided that finding and conquering the mysterious race would give him all the finances he'd need to carry out his war. It took his spies years to sift through the mountains of theories on the Quihansu and separate the facts from the many fictions, but eventually they managed to track down the merchant family the Quihansu dealt with. Capturing several members of the family, they tortured them for information on the Quihansu until they broke and revealed their centuries old deal with the species. Keeping the family members hostage, they forced the merchant family patriarch to sneak a tracking device into a datachip in his next trade with the species.

The device worked as intended, and after executing the entire merchant family so they couldn't reveal any information on the Quihansu to anyone else, the Urokrahn Regent ordered an expeditionary force to invade and conquer the system. The Regent had mistakenly assumed that the Quihansu would have little in the way of defenses, given their reliance on trade, and his force was expecting little resistance, but they arrived to find an extensive orbital defense system and entire fleet defending Mol'Kiarda; the Quihansu had been putting all the data they'd received to good use.

The Quihansu ships and weaponry were as flawlessly designed and constructed as their goods and jewelry, and the poorly built Urokrahn spacecraft stood little chance against them. Only a single corvette managed to survive and flee back to Urokrahn space to report on the expeditionary force's failure. Furious at the news, the Regent had the ship's Captain executed, and ordered half of his entire military to mass for an attack on the Quihansu. Thus, the Urokrahn War began in earnest.

Despite being heavily outnumbered, the Quihansu ships utilized their superior quality, cloaking devices, and more talented commanders to fight the Urokrahn fleet to a standstill, though the militant race's sheer numbers allowed them to land numerous troop transports on Mol'Kiarda's surface during the battle. The Urokrahns would learn the hard way that the Quihansu legions were no less effective or determined than its fleet, and the invaders sustained heavy losses in the brutal battles on the planet's surface. When news eventually broke out that much of the Urokrahn fleet was tied up fighting the Quihansu, the Urokrahn Imperium soon found itself beset by multiple foes, which left them unable to reinforce their troops attacking Mol'Kiarda. It wasn't long before the Quihansu realized this, and in a final great battle they drove the last of the Urokrahn forces from their system; though at great cost.

Having failed to conquer the Quihansu, and sustaining heavy losses in the process, the Urokrahn Imperium soon fell to its enemies, and the Regent was executed after being found guilty of a myriad of war crimes. Though after-action reports revealed they'd killed over 100 Urokrahns for each Quihansu lost in battle, hundreds of thousands of their people still died in the conflict, and it would take millennia to replace those losses. With their location now revealed to the Galaxy, the Quihansu knew they'd need allies if they were to have any hope of surviving another conflict with alien species in the future, and not long after the Urokrahn War came to a close, they decided to ally themselves with the Shvii Hegemony. Though there is still concern among some over the recent alliance, most of the Quihansu are hopeful that a bright future is on the horizon for their people...

Character App
Name: Theanor Jarak
Age: 2,957
Appearance:
Image

Personality: Theanor is a dedicated physician who cares greatly about his work and the patients under his care. Like most of his species he tends to be perfectionistic and is prone to strong emotions, though his time in the military and his personal losses did help him learn to somewhat dampen the latter.
Species/Race: Quihansu
Occupation/Position to be filled: Ship's Doctor
Skills/Abilities: Theanor is an exceptionally talented physician and surgeon, with extensive knowledge of the Anatomy and Physiology of hundreds of different species. He is also well trained in Quihansu martial arts and swordsmanship, has basic psionic abilities and can perform the Quihansu merging of minds, and is proficient in the use of energy weapons.
Equipment: Quihansu energy pistol, Quihansu energy blade, pictures of his family, medical scanner, surgical equipment, priceless Quihansu necklace which once belonged to his wife.
History: Theanor was born in Mol'Kiarda's capital city of Rahaen Taen to a mother who was a prominent physician, and a father who was a Legate in the military. Growing up, he learned a great deal from both parents as each tried to sway him towards their profession; his mother taught him the basics of medicine, while his father instructed him in the Quihansu martial arts and taught him how to shoot and use an energy blade. After completing his basic education in school and coming of age, he decided to follow in his mother's footsteps and attended the finest medical school on the planet (though he still continued studying martial arts with his father as a means of staying close with him).

After graduating as valedictorian of his medical school class, he spent over a thousand years studying, researching, and practicing medicine in one of the finest hospitals in the capital. When the first data on different alien species arrived a few centuries ago, Theanor began to study the information on their Anatomy and Physiology, and became quite fascinated by it. During these studies, he began to work with a Xenobiologist named Tiadriel whom he fell madly in love with, and after a brief courtship lasting only a few decades, soon married; proposing to her with an exquisite necklace which cost him a sizeable portion of his savings.

In all, life was going well for Theanor: a good job, a loving family, but everything changed when the Urokrah Imperium attacked. After the initial attack by the Urokrah's expeditionary force was repelled, Theanor was drafted into the military as a field surgeon and after completing basic officer's training, was assigned to his father's Legion. In the brutal fights that were to come, his father's training would serve him well and helped save his life on multiple occasions. Unfortunately however, when the Urokrah launched a surprise attack on Rahaen Taen, all the skill in the world couldn't make him fast enough to get to his family's estate before Urokrahn soldiers arrived and murdered his wife, mother, and only sibling. With her dying breath, Theanor's wife told him she loved him and handed him back the necklace he gave her when he proposed to remember her by.

Outraged and forlorn, he butchered every Urokrahn soldier he could find until the Quihansu forces finally drove them out of the city. Countless others had lost family in the attack as well, and after burying their dead they all longed for vengeance. Fortunately, that vengeance would soon come in the Battle of the Alfirin Plains: the last and bloodiest battle of the war. Knowing at this point that the Urokrahns had been attacked by other enemies and could not be reinforced, the Quihansu committed all available forces to a final push into the enemy's main camp. Theanor's father led the battle from the frontlines, with Theanor fighting right beside him. The battle dragged on for hours as the Quihansu took their revenge on the Urokrahn forces and slayed their foe to the last man, freeing their world of the enemy presence. Tragically, though the Legion won the battle, it lost its Legate as Theanor's father was shot dead by an enemy soldier after killing the Urokrahn General in single combat.

Though he tried every medical trick he knew, there was nothing Theanor could do to save his father and the last member of his family died on that battlefield. As the planet he once loved now only served to remind him of the people he lost, he decided to leave, and when the Emperor and Senate made the decision to join the Shvii Hegemony he set out wandering through the Galaxy. After spending some time rambling aimlessly, Theanor found himself in need of funds, and while looking for a job he found a position for a ship's doctor on a fascinating-sounding expedition which looked to be a good fit. He decided to apply for the job, and with his medical and military experience, Theanor was quickly selected for the position, where ever since he has been preparing himself for the coming voyage...

It'll be nice having another long lived friend aboard. Though the age of the Quihansu makes even the Allameri seem small.

Maybe if he's lucky, he'll get to call her Rithri. To be able to call an Allameri by their diminutive is an honor most outside of their society never receive.

Well at least they can both make fun of human lifespans together ;)

And that would be really cool to work towards! I'm sure Theanor would feel greatly honored by such a gesture :)
