The resolution does not address a guest worker who does not live up to the employer's expectations. The rescinding of a contract.

Your resolution started on the right track but I didn't make it past line 4. Some of what you are proposing seriously concerns me.

Hereby:
[*]Further mandates that employers in World Assembly member states not discriminate against domestic workers or guest workers in hiring or retention practices due to their status as such.

In the context of where a job (eg. Armed Forces, Federal Gov't Jobs) requires an individual be either a citizen or permanent residence for national security reasons, how would this proposal reconcile with that mandate?

[*]Instructs employers and member states to make provision for guest workers to receive social services and healthcare while fulfilling the terms of their contract and that guest workers make the mandatory number of contributions into social services or healthcare services required by the member state they work in for them and, if applicable, their dependents to be able to access aforementioned services.

As stated above by other member states, why should this be? In Rightport, there are different class of immigrants that are entitled to different kinds of benefits. While healthcare is provided to all who reside in our borders legally, social assistance is reserved for citizens, residents and certain classes of temp immigrants

[*]Orders employers or World Assembly member states to not enforce immigration provisions on guest workers, provided they continue to fulfill the terms of their contract.

This would be a breach of national security. Every sovereign nation has the right to decide it's own immigration policies so long it doesn'tt go against enacted WA legislation. "Immigration Provisions" helps us to regulate entry and exits of foreign nationals at our borders . The safety and security of Rightportians are paramount and our Immigration Agencies are tasked with protecting that right.

I think this resolution needs review and more work. I look forward to your response in this matter.

Now that we have laws protecting the mentally ill from getting treatment, why not start extending freedoms to non-citizens? Can't spell World Assembly without ass.

"It is the opinion of the Republic of Figu that although it appreciates the intentions of this resolution, there are some sticking points that are of concern. We appreciate that this resolution does not affect immigration or constitute a 'right to work', however. Regardless, in most countries, non-citizens are not entitled to the rights of citizens because they are not citizens. For instance, an immigrant to Figu must undergo a ten-year naturalization process and a portion of time in the Foreign Legion of the Republic. During this time, any mail or other contact with outside the nation is strictly forbidden as an anti-crime and anti-espionage measure. They are also blocked from certain jobs of importance such as maintenance of infrastructure. Although we are not affected directly by these resolutions, given our decision to withdraw, we seek to encourage free and fair agreements."

Would vote yes. Not all nations get immigrants....

Postby Texkentuck » Mon Jun 28, 2021 8:15 pm

The nation Texkentuck would vote yes on this proposal because first off this proposal only speaks to nations that immigrants flock to. Nations that can't sustain a decent living or wage for workers in general are flocking from those nations and are immigrants. Second, socialist have weak economies of programs that are barely funded. Third, Businesses in Texkentuck that are of the 1% making over 1 million Texkmarks pay Taxes to the Homeless Program. "Loop Holes Closed." Last the main reason I'm voting yes is regardless of what is written through out seems irrelevant other than immigrants getting a decent wage... Take Note the immigrants will get the same wage as the worker if this passes. It also doesn't concern nations who don't get immigrants because no one is immigrating to your nation. More and likely visiting and taking full advantage of your weak economy...Unless your citizens are making tourist over pay.....

Parliament in Texkentuck looked at this proposal and finds it not needed to be stated in the proposal "Requires that employers in member states assist in the provision of a minimum standard of living providing basic necessities for newly arrived guest workers". :?:

This is in the proposal and we "Texkentuck Parliament" do not know what this means. :?: Does this mean they get a two room shack/bath tub and a coffee maker?.... :!:

In Texkentuck the minimum standard of living is this in Texkentuck.... Read for yourself as President Bram W. Schirkophf holds up the Magazine Cover and gives everyone a free copy.
Image[/url]

He states look at the cover of this great citizen of Texkentuck. According to him and many in Texkentuck is "the minimum living standard is to live in a tree with a port to potty". We will vote yes because this has nothing to do with nations who do not get immigrants..... Texkentuck is open for buisness...
We have a speedy immigration process. Just check out our immigration program it's state of the art. Also would like to state if you get a job in Texkentuck you won't have to live in a tree. You'll show up an immigrant no work till Monday with access to our program called "Homeless" which lets you cruise around in a limo. Then you go to work get paid and get a nice two room shack and coffee maker! Then you work hard and next thing you know you'll be in the 1% paying some dollars to the Homeless program......Still banking.....Go Figure.....!! Pres. Schirkophf shouts out loud "Hail Philanthropist the people will say".....

President Bram W. Schirkophf takes a large puff from his cigar and takes a shot of bourbon in a wild over the top way. Then Schirkophf states "I'm Not a member of this crazy World Assembly but clearly promoting this proposals by saying I vote yes to this proposal if I was"...... Then states Most in this law is irrelevant but decent wage for immigrants and we're for it in Texkentuck, and I have my reasons for not being a member but enjoy this crazy worded proposal as if every nation gets immigrants?......

Incentives for buisness

Postby Texkentuck » Wed Jun 30, 2021 12:43 am

Once this proposal passes businesses who don't want to follow the new immigration proposal may not hire immigrants.

The solution is for a nation of this WA to make a pro-capitalist proposal for buisnesses that hire immigrants! As the president says firm......

Schirkophf looks around bewildered and concerned stating immigrants in some nations won't have jobs. :/

President Schirkophf shouts and holds cigar before giving off a big puff of smoke and taking a gulp of bourbon...
Just an idea  Schirkophf laughs manically and shouts pro-capitalism!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Texkentuck is a pro-immigrant!!!!!!!!!!!! pro- capitalist nation!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then the staff around schirkophf hold up the U.C.C.R and Texkentuck flags and sing Texkentucks' National Anthem and President Schirkophf looks stern and serious.

Freedom, freedom, free-eeeeeeee-dom !

We are no longer bound by oppressions' and we follow one God and worship freely.

Freely Freely, Freeeeeeeeee-ly

Our nation made up of great nomad decent...............?!

and we will lead the way for freedom with an iron fist full

of heart and might so that we might make this great holy nation mighty and on the side of pro---vi------dence....................................."Lady sings high the words providence........
"Men go back to singing"
Freedom, freedom Free---------------------------------------------dom !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YORG, Yorg yoooooooooooorg- viking horn played. "An official blows a viking horn"

President Schirkophf states loud and clear before sitting down-
This song was written by an unknown in a bar in the early days of the republic before the great fires!

President Schirkophf ends by saluting with his bourbon glass the Texkentuck flag and turns to the WA and states Texkentuck will make sure our buisnesses have an incentive because they already do. We encourage this WA to do the same or businesses will take advantage of such a loop hole. Borders closed, immigrants unemployed. It will be a sad day for such nations...This proposal is good but it needs an incentive for buisness..... The president takes a seat and so does staff.

Well, legality based on a strength violation can't be filed now. The only way to get rid of it would be to repeal it. I dare ask what you noticed though.

My "Average Income of Rich" fell from 1,310,300 to 663,345 (almost 50% decrease). My "Wealth Gaps" fell from 18.45 to 3.73. Other similar stats affected, but those were the ones that caught my eye. Not sure if this was the intended effect or not.

We don’t go into this knowing stat effects, but that could be a bug. May want to point it out on tech or something if you’re not answering issues or anything?

OOC: AoE resolutions have Strong strength effect on stats, hence their effect in terms of clauses must be minimum of Significant. No bug. Extreme nations experience extreme changes.

To clarify this with respect to the 'Environmental' category where the AoE can be 'All businesses - mild', a specific industry, or 'All businesses - strong', in that case choosing the 'All businesses - strong' option has similar strength on each affected stat to any of the 'specific industry' options but does so simultaneously to a wider range of stats.

OOC: Also if I remember correctly, repealing a resolution has only half as strong opposite effect as the passing of the original.
