I actually might.

There are some countries where I'd say no, but Thailand I would have to think about.

Take it from someone who has friends in Thailand,

You do NOT want to live there

Apparently the man who was terrorized is closing his business and leaving the city.

120.5, which is about 6 times more than Iraq and 9 times more than Afghanistan. Keep in mind that the US has a very large population, though, and proportionally with, say, Canada, that's around 17 more if I did my calculations correctly. (Proportionally, mind you; on the actual listing, the US has about 85.8 more.)

That's still a helluva lot of guns, though.
that number per 100 people. That's more than a gun per person.
Lemme put it into perspective: the amount of guns in the US fucks with the gun policies of its neighbours. Here up north a mass shooting resulted in half-hearted long gun registry that got repealed, but smuggled American guns got a lot of guns outright prohibited.

this has more to do with your savings and pension, really. A lot of folks like to move to the tropics to stretch it out a little.

Thailand is more than just Bangkok. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you also visted Phitsanulok and Si Thammarat, and maybe rural parts of the country before deciding to base your entire experience of Thailand off a single city. My question is why? What did you experience in Thailand to make you think it was a place worth living in?

Yep.
Also, swerving is a normal instinct, but it's dangerous. One should brake, not swerve.

Ideally, but you cannot bring a vehicle to a stop as easily as you can alter its course. Swerving could very well save a life that braking simply would run over. It's situational I guess.

Again this entire thing reminds me of that truck driver that nearly hit those suicidal protesters on the highway. He entered the highway before it was closed, drove the speed limit, and hit his horn/brakes bringing an extremely heavy vehicle to a safe stop quickly. People laid down in front of him to become martyrs as he desperately tried to save their lives. He was pulled from his truck and beaten half to death. Then he was arrested for surviving the mob violence.

I can't believe some of the utter and complete fantasy grade bullshit being used by nitwits to justify the armed assault here. People actually arguing things like "he was driving down the (completely open public) road and thus they feared he might try to run people over" or that "he started the standoff by pulling out a gun." (in front of no lees than 2 different people holding rifles aimed at him before he even knew what was going on, let alone was out of the truck or armed himself) But my favorite is the argument that the protesters vehicle literally used to cut him off and keep him from getting away, starting all of this in the first place, was only to "protect" the armed thugs from the chance of him trying to run them over.. (by turning back I guess?) If you look around certain places online you'll see people actually not only defending this but attacking the driver.

His biggest mistake was not using his weapon before they got a hold of him.

One either fights for something, or falls for nothing.
One either stands for something, or falls for anything.

Despite the right having a bigger extremist problem, that does not mean the left cannot have problematic extremists as well who maim and possibly even kill.

I do not think that people should be allowed to protest on an interstate like this. That trucker had no idea that the road was closed as he was already on it when the closure occurred, and it puts groups of people in danger. In addition, I think many within BLM want to find justifications to claim they're in danger, by creating that danger. Targeting confused drivers, and creating a narrative that they're evil racists trying to kill the riotous freedom fighters.

Another type of truck driver targeted in Portland. They beat him up badly.
