Soft Cap on Nudity?

Hello there various people of nationstates. Some may know me as "the nation with the nudist birds." Indeed I am currently #3 in the world for highest nudity in the game, tied with first and second (Really the biggest reason I'm third is because my name starts with a T, it seems)

I've noticed something strange though. No matter how I answer issues, I can never seem to break the value of 1223.25 cheeks per square mile. I know that accruing positive growth in any stat is very long at this point; it took me about a month just to climb back up here after falling previously. But after checking the history of the other two nations in this top bracket above me, I've also noticed that neither of them have reached the coveted 1223.5 nudity (the stat goes up in 0.25 increments).

Now, while I'm personally content with my current position, I do find it rather curious. Why is it that none of us three can get ahead? Is there a hard-cap present and we just happen to reach the maximum value? If so, why is it 1223.25, such a strange value to cap out on? Is there some other hidden mechanism or restriction? Is potential growth at this stage just completely impossible due to some other mechanism I don't know about? Or am I being impatient and I have to wait another month to get just a smidgeon more?

Please let me know, as I've finally found my weird hill to die on, and I'd like to know if it's even possible to pull ahead.

Well, you can't be nuder than "nobody wears anything". That's just common sense.

And I've found that even that is impossible to even get close to unless you outright make nudity compulsory rather than just legal.

Side note: the secondary sorting process for rank ties is by DBID, which is assigned incrementally to a nation upon its founding. Having been founded in 2020, you've got a DBID of 3569647 - which is quite a lot higher than the two nations in front of you, at 732516 and 879767 respectively.

This is especially apparent with a stat like Recreational Drug Use (https://www.nationstates.net/page=list_ ... ensusid=60) where the cap is much lower and more commonly reached.

Interesting, it looked more alphabetical from a distance. How do you see other people's DBID?

Well, you can't be nuder than "nobody wears anything". That's just common sense.

I'm the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th best nation in this stat so I definitely understand what you mean, each increment seems to be harder to get at the top.

The easiest way to explain this "cap" you speak of is that nudity is normally affected by various factors, such as the right to choose what to wear or to wear clothing at all. When you enact compulsory nudity, it works against those freedoms, which is why most nations with the policy have a terrible score in categories such as civil rights. However, in your case, you've likely enabled almost every personal freedom that normally increases the nudity stat except for certain freedoms affected by compulsory nudity. If you enable people to wear clothing you lose the bonus that the policy grants you, dropping you down the leaderboard. This means it may not be possible for you to raise the stat at a certain point.

Are you at that point? I don't know, but you might as well keep trying, right?
