It can't be that bad, I've never not been able to find one decent beer even at the arse end of nowhere like Grimsby.

We just get on with it and find solutions to the problems.

Yes, keep dodging the part where Brexit is harming small businesses and focus on the bit where I can't find beer that in any way compares to the deliciousness of Vault City or Fierce Beer.

The only Scottish beer I've found here is from Brewdog, but they are big enough and had the foresight to build a brewery in Germany before Brexit.

They didn't build a brewery, they took over one.

Nice place, I had a 500€ voucher from there. Had some good fun with it :)

Fine, they acquired a brewery. They can still make beer in the EU which means they don't have to export it from the UK to the EU, which likely saves them a lot of paperwork and as an investor, I don't mind that they did this.

I'll let you off because you aren't that regular a poster in the UK politics thread so probably won't have realised this but I'm one of those mythical small buisness owners dealing with Brexit. Everybody talks a lot about us like they know exactly what we want but most people don't actually have much of an idea.

Sometimes people put other considerations before ringing absolutely every pound possible out of something and some people are obviously more focused on money. It is what it is, I back my family to keep our buinsess fairly profitable and I'm more than happy to trade some profit away for the next few years whilst we change various suppliers and ways of doing things.

the EU is good in theory, but disappointing in execution
...i have yet to decide whether the euro as a currency is a boon or not
on the one hand, the giving up of monetary sovereignty and the imposition of debt and deficit limits is dumb
but on the other hand, most individual European countries lack the Real Resources to take full advantage of the flexibility they would have otherwise
give it another debt crisis and i'll make up my mind

1. Already exists, it's called the EU Council.

2. It does, concerning people outside of the EU unless the country opt out.

3. A unified EU army is not a good idea. But an EU defence Pact, like an EU NATO would be better.
