What makes the AC a villain?

Postby The Alkdorian Empire » Sat Apr 17, 2021 3:57 pm

If you had to find that the Above Character is a villain despite a large amount of information saying otherwise. What exactly would you say and find that justifies them to deserve the label of being a villain?

I mean, aside from the warcrimes, colonialism, slavery, social credit system, and much more, I can't see anything that's possibly villainous about Ferrios!

Terrorism.
Our nation is Poland, but there was a great Nazbol revolution, which overthrew the PZPR and freed Poland from USSR, in 1993. The Iron Curtain still exists, but it has changed its borders.

Nothing. There is no CHARACTER, only a nation. I'm here to judge people, not entities.

BN, do each of the "Big Three", aka Kanata, Townes, and Suvorov, found here.

Since Kanata is otherwise a bit of a low-hanging fruit, I'm willing to do the exercise for her colleagues as well.

So, Kanata. This thread is already her whole schtick! Underneath her veneer of liberal-progressivism is seething, racialized, neo-imperial hatred.

General Townes already comes across as rather unscrupulous, being a military junta, though his aesthetic seems to project a kind of dubious "soldier's honor." To declare Townes a villain, one need only focus on his controlling personality and penchant for Vader-style physical retaliation against staff who let him down.

President Suvorov is the one most difficult to fit into this thread. He's beloved by his people, has a "friend to all" personality, and is a revolutionary. Perhaps what would make him a villain would be if he took his insistence on unity too far and stumbled into brutal crackdowns on comparatively unimportant dissidence.

Yutani possesses qualities that are not like NS villains on the likes of Narshiss of Khoronzon or Konrad from Patagonia. For one, Yutani is a reactionary luddite who wants to "turn back the clock" on social and technological progress. For the progressive and globally-connected sort; his vision of a localist and autarkic world would simply be backward and the agenda he's pushing - villainous. He is not a tyrant or world-ending psychopath; he is a realistic depiction of a reactionary politician pushing garbage beliefs.

BN: President Galeazzo for the sequel spin-off CA isn't done yet but do this version of Galeazzo from SP instead.

  • State-President Galeazzo saved Patagonia from anarchy, reunited La Plata under the Red Eagle and turned it into a sustainable capitalist, big tent authoritarian state with Futurist dressings. Now, Argentina enters the 80s where it's on its way of becoming a Great Power once more.

Lookin at my boy Galy, it's his efforts to bring logic to hatred. Using his intellectual background to serve the side of extremists that he might or might not agree with. Another aspect that's despicable about him is the fact that I don't know if he genuinely believes in these ideals or if it's simply the only practical, comfortable way for him to live.

Both reasons are abhorrent of course but there's something about the latter reasoning that grinds my gears. Knowing that he's collaborating with sick people to keep his enemies afar is definitely characteristic of a villain, an unorthodox and perhaps understandable villain but a villain nonetheless. He comes off as this eccentric informed member of intelligentsia of the right but he seems to be somewhat aware of this futurist business he's delved into

Psychotic Dictatorship

Nadine looks innocuous enough from the outside and her goals are even for the good and the survival of Nebumet itself. One could probably see where her statist ideas come from or even agree with them in the face of the changing world.

The Shutari is, like other political entities or even more, full of intrigues and struggle for power and interests. However, she knows the game she is playing, and she is going to wear a mask of innocence until she musters enough strength to challenge it. I think it is this manipulation of impressions upon her that I find 'villainous', for the lack of a better word.
