If BL was an villian, what would the hero be?

Postby Wormfodder Delivery » Sat Apr 17, 2021 2:34 pm

It's rather simple, BL is an villian in a work of fiction, but every villian needs a hero to oppose, who would you see as a good choice for that?
Example

If Boss Delivery Worm was a villain then the hero would be an average person who is trying to make sense of the world and in the process trying to bring down Wormfodder deliveries to save the cosmos from capitalism.

If AL was a villain then the hero is definitely Captain Pronin.

If that Demon Guy is a villain then obviously the AL is a demonslayer! (I think I'm doing this right.)

If Ferrios Von Stein was villun, the hero would be a woman in her mid-twenties trying desperately to live a fulfilling life while being constantly watched by state surveillance, having her brothers die in the war, and becoming disillusioned with her own education.

BN: I don't know what the hero would be like if your leader was villun, but what if President Etor Gurraniz was villun?

The hero would be an outsider who prides in being a free-thinking individual and "out-of-the-box" thinker who believes that his own vision for Voxija is more ideal than the liberal vision of Gurraniz. Clash of ideals.

If Konrad was a villain then the hero would be Montgomery a sort of Paladin-esque individual who works to bring order back to Patagonia. Basically superman but more traditional.

Hmm... For Sven, I think some sort of sci-fi stereotypical paladin- that is, the type who fights for a divine authority- would be a hero to his villainy. But, I guess, to go into a bit more hypothetical detail, I think it'd have to be some otherwise small and insignificant figure who, through some stroke of luck, delivers the killing blow. I say that more because I feel Sven's death acting as direct a refutation of his beliefs as possible would more closely align him to the role of villain, and putting it completely out of the hands of both primary actors seems like an interesting way for it to be done.

Technically Religiously Syncretic (Byzantine Orthodox Saints - Ancient Anatolian Deities). Not Crusaders (Again, Not Crusaders). But Definitely Character-Oriented (Lord Trokondas/Princess Euphrosyne/Lady Bassaine)

For Euphrosyne, as a demon, her opposing hero would be an archangel and for Lord Trokondas his enemy would probably be one of his subjects, probably an angry peasant in charge of a mob.

I suppose the most obvious hero to Harold Lawson-as-antagonist would be a member of the Party of the Left, perhaps a rising left-wing populist who brings together a disparate electorate to unite and take down Lawsonism in a nearly revolutionary electoral landslide. If we wanted to get a little less everyday and little more action-packed, I could also imagine a Mission Impossible-style guerilla group that needs to take down a Lawson with secret military projects that threaten the safety of innocents.

Take your pick of 3-B's three leaders.

The fact that they managed to bring the world revolution into the classroom, man Freddy is probably the Lenin of the school.

So, for Freddy and Jojo, I definitely feel like Francine really is just, like... the best foil to the both of them, but especially in the case of Freddy- in the case of a Randian hero fantasy, I could see Francine strongly being identified as a hero sort, with Freddy being the main villain to the proliferation of her ideology.
But while Francine as a hero does work for Jojo as a villain, I don't think it's quite as... thematic? I don't really know. But, I think Jojo's role as moderate peacekeeper would be sorta villainous from the possible perspective of an antagonistic outsider, who wants Class 3-B's little revolution to fail before it spreads- so, in their case, I think Villain-Jojo's hero would be some sort of school official, or perhaps an outside collaborationist who weakens and radicalizes the classroom as a whole.
Finally, with Francine... While I initially thought, maybe it'd be Freddy, the truth is... she's already sorta the villain of 3-B. And, really- maybe this is just my own opinions showing a bit- but I don't think Freddy's the true hero of 3-B- I think the more moderate and compromising nature of Jojo, while less truly revolutionary, puts them in direct conflict with her, though they'd probably deny it, and Francine might be more focused on Freddy's opposition.
BN: Ilitu, a villain? Never! :p
