What we offer

Investment Accounts

How it works: Buy our currency by making a deposit (The Universal Treasury Note- symbol []) and sell it back to the bank when it appreciates in value. It costs $500,000 (NS Standard Dollars) to open an investment account and there is no minimum balance requirement. There is no fee to close the account.

Buying Order Form

Code: Select all
Nation Name
How much do you want to deposit?
Do you have any other accounts with us?
Do you agree with the $500,000.00 fee to open the account?

Selling Order Form

Code: Select all
Nation Name
Are you closing the account or just selling a partial amount back to us?
If selling a partial amount, how much?

We also provide the option to buy stocks in our Joseph Stockdale Business, Erickson Manufacturing, & Varnacki Agricultural indices.
How it works: Fill out the order form below. We update the stock ticker every day and after someone buys or sells a stock. You cannot buy and sell the same stock on the same NS Year (Earth Day). Price of stocks are determined by √(how many points total in the market)/π = price per share. Buying shares drives the price up. For example, if someone buys 100,000 shares, we divide 100,000 by the price per share, add it to how many points total are in the market, find its square root, and then divide by pi - √((shares purchased/price per share) + how many points total in the market)/π. Add your answer to the total number of points in any market.

How it works: Your nation or region applies for a line of credit with no money down. We'll analyze your nation or region. If you're accepted for a line of credit, we'll print your public card (no financial information is listed on your public card, it's just for decoration.), assign your interest rate, and increase your credit line every thirty NS Years (one month on earth).

Do you have any other accounts with us?:
What color would you like your credit card to be?

How it works: Make a request for an amount of money. We charge 10% of whatever you borrow + 1% for every thirty NS years (one month on earth) until the loan is paid back. It's that simple

GDP/GRP: GDP (Gross Domestic Product) will be used for national economic reports, GRP (Gross Regional Product) will be used for regional economic reports. Data can be found on the NS Trends Screen.
GDP/GRP Per Capita: Gross Domestic Product or Gross Regional Product / population.
Money Supply: GDP or GRP minus 50 Trillion if GDP or GRP is greater than 250 Trillion. If GDP or GRP is less than 50 Trillion, then Money Supply would be GDP or GRP minus 1 trillion. If GDP or GRP is less than 250 Trillion but more than 50 Trillion, then Money Supply would be GDP or GRP minus 10.
Velocity of Money: GDP or GRP divided by Money Supply.
Exchange Rate: √(GRP Per Capita * EPR / 404,000,000), For every 100 B of your own currency you purchase in the money market, add 0.01 to your exchange rate.
Avg Income of Poorest 10%: NS Trends Screen. Multiply by your exchange rate to see figure in NationStates Dollars.
Avg Income of the Middle Class: NS Trends Screen. Multiply by your exchange rate to see figure in NationStates Dollars.
Avg Income of Richest 10%: NS Trends Screen. Multiply by your exchange rate to see figure in NationStates Dollars.
Consumer Spending: ((GDP or GRP divided by your exchange rate) / 5) You would divide by a number other than 5 if your economic game classification is different. We divide by 5 because ours is classified as 'thriving.' You'll want to consult the scoring chart at the bottom of this post to see which number is appropriate for your report.
Black Market: NS Trends Screen.
Savings, Investment, & Debt: GDP or GRP minus Consumer Spending. GDP/GRP represents all the goods that were produced and all of the services that were performed this NS Year. Anything that wasn't spent on goods made this year goes to either savings, investment, or to pay debt generated by the domestic credit market.
Employment Score: This is a 0-100 scale representing the total percentage of the population who are legally generating income.
Unemployment Rate: =SQRT(Black Market/(100-Employment Score)/404000000)/5. The logic used here states that if the black market is offering more income than legal employment, then those in the population that are susceptible to becoming criminals will take illegal opportunities. The larger the black market and/or lower the employment score, the higher the unemployment rate will be.
Public Education: NS Trends Screen.
Minimum Wage: Avg Income of the Poorest 10% divided by Public Education. Multiply by your exchange rate to see this figure in NationStates Dollars.

Information for your markets can be found in 'NS Trends.' Click both the regional and world buttons to get their data. For any given industry, if it's more valuable than its counterpart on the world market, you import. The reason you import is that having a larger regional market than the world market indicates that your goods are more expensive. In order to gain that 'edge' you open the market to cheaper foreign products. If your regional market is worth less than its counterpart on the world market, you export. Industries with negative values indicate that it is running a backlog of exports to the world market. Wealthy nations with highly valued currencies should focus on becoming net importers while younger, poorer nations should focus on exports until their populations get to 500 million or so, then focus on maximizing GDP growth.

The price of stocks is determined by √(how many points total in the market)/π = price per share. Those same number of points that were added to this date's market measurement will be added every time you measure to account for the percentage of share value owned by the stockholder.

Oil & Gas Contracts

Nobody will ever consume more oil than they produce. It's a safety measure to keep your nation from running out of oil altogether. However, you will never produce so much more oil than you consume to the point where you can sustainably sell it on the market or build up a vast supply overnight either. In fact, the surplus you make from oil production vs oil consumption is minuscule. This is to encourage the use of the international energy market. In this regional nation, we buy oil wholesale from sellers on the market and then use this supply to limit volatility in the energy markets and keep prices reasonable. If your oil market is nationalized or only partially nationalized, you can insert the revenue from this venture straight into your government budget revenue.

Nations and/or Regions have the opportunity to take their parked surplus cash and invest it for the purposes of generating more revenue. In this case, I've elected to fund a Universal Healthcare System. When shifting money to any investment vehicle, you'll want to subtract it once from domestic spending to show that the money was shifted from one place to another. That way, everyone is on the same page and there is no room for stealing or cooking the books.

For this particular investment, you'll want to always account for the points in the market your government owns as well as the points in the market that change from everyday use. And you can invest in a market as small as a single industry (like basket weaving), something big like a whole market (business, manufacturing, or agriculture), or something huge from the world market.

A foreign investment takes place when a nation and/or region wants to invest in one of your investment vehicles. What they choose to invest in can inflate that market and its value. Every time you invest in yourself or someone else invests in you, your stocks will climb in value and total points in the market will expand. Depending on how you answer daily issues, you can either help to naturally raise or lower the value of that foreign stake.

For every 100 billion UTN Purchased, the exchange rate increases by 0.01

Nations and/or Regions can use their currency to buy yours in the hopes that they can sell it back to you for a profit. Your money market can be your best friend because it allows you to artificially prop up the value of your currency. If your exchange rate is .65 cents for every NS Dollar, that may make your exports cheap and competitive but your minimum wage and income brackets will be in the toilet. For every trillion purchased of your money market, remove a trillion from the money supply. Only use this tool sparingly as the goal shouldn't be to have the highest valued currency but, instead, to limit its volatility.

The domestic credit market counts for second-hand goods purchases. It can also be used for buying a residential property, an automobile, and monthly rent payments. The more debt that is carried over to the next cycle, the less there is left over for savings and investment.

Consumer Debt Carried Over from Last NS Year: This is an amount that must be carried over into the next NS Year in order for it to be paid for with more credit. The Government can choose to bail out the consumer or let the credit market collapse and the debt pile up.

Credit Rating: 1-2.99% AAA, 3-5.99% AA, 6-9.99% A, 10-12.99% BBB, 13-16.99% BB, 17-19.99% B, 20-22.99% CCC, 23-25.99% CC, 26-28.99% C,
29% and up is a D.
Government Bailout: A government bailout can be used to immediately erase all consumer debt and bring the potential of available credit to 100%. Since this is paid for with parked surplus cash from your government budget, it's better to avoid having to do this unless it is an emergency.
Central Bank Interest Rate: The difference between this interest rate and the avg consumer interest rate is that this one has an impact on utilization. The higher this interest rate, the less credit is utilized. This is a tool to ensure that this market never overheats or collapses.

When it comes to your international credit market, you have an unlimited amount of credit to distribute to foreign governments. They can request a particular line of available credit, you can calculate their interest rate based on how you calculate your own domestic consumer credit interest rate, and all you have to do from there is make sure that the revenue from each account is added to your government's domestic budget revenue. You can continue to let the revenue flow into your budget until the deal is requested to be canceled.

When it comes to combat, one thing is definitely a law of NS physics: Population, nations, regions, etc, cannot be destroyed. Having said that, you could always use your military RP over a chunk of uninhabited land (there's always uninhabited land when your world is literally expanding to accommodate your infinitely growing population) and stage your battles there. You can attack with one, two, or all three of your military units (and enlistees, if you keep track of them). Both the efficiency rates of you and your opponent definitely matter because that will be how a winner is determined. An efficiency level above 100% indicates that the particular unit can do what its normal counterpart can do plus what a percentage of a second unit could do. For example, if you send a unit of missiles (a unit being all of your missiles or whatever number you choose), and you have an efficiency rating of 120%, and your opponent has their missile efficiency at 100%, and you both had an equal amount of attackers and defenders, you would win the battle because you've overwhelmed their defenses by 20%. Because a battle even took place, you have to subtract 1 from your efficiency (because they will take on at least some damage). In this battle, your opponent has lost their defenders because they were overmatched by 20%. If you have lower efficiency levels (quality), you would need to make up for that with more military equipment (quantity).

Missiles Produced Per NS Year: SQRT((Defense Forces+Information Technology + Arms Manufacturing) / Scientific Advancement)
Missile Efficiency: (Defense Forces+Information Technology+Arms Manufacturing) / Scientific Advancement

Tanks Produced Per NS Year: =SQRT((Defense Forces+Information Technology+Arms Manufacturing+Automobile Manufacturing) / Scientific Advancement)
Tank Efficiency: (Defense Forces+Information Technology+Arms Manufacturing+Automobile Manufacturing) / Scientific Advancement)

Jets Produced Per NS Year: SQRT((((Automobile Manufacturing*2)+(Information Technology *2)+Defense Forces+Arms Manufacturing)/Insurance)*Economic Productivity Score)
Jet Efficiency:((((Automobile Manufacturing*2)+(Information Technology*2)+Defense Forces+Arms Manufacturing))/(Scientific Advancement+Avg IQ))

Not all nations and/or regions keep enlistment records.

Government Budget

Domestic Budget-

Tax Rate % of GDP/GRP: 33.9% of GDP
Domestic Revenue: []275,822,908,452,624.00 | $451,070,564,348,292.00
Domestic Spending: []271,835,909,741,535.00 | $444,550,374,387,435.00
The USIH Now Supports Its own regional military (value added to domestic spending)

International Spending-

Reformed Cyprus | Nelson's Paper Products Corporation: []73,000,000,000.00 | $119,381,495,112.76
Neu Engollon | Golden Cross Lager: []2,775,000,000,000.00 | $4,538,132,177,231.78
Nova Secta | Kelsey-Forrester Petrol: 500,000,000 Barrels of Oil Per NS Year: []28,912,650,602.41 | $47,282,677,487.52
Allanea | Dillard Industrial Logistics: []1,000,000,000,000.00 | $1,635,362,946,750.19

Bottom Line-

Budget Surplus/Deficit: []1,138,998,711,089.72 | $1,862,676,288,512.35
Last NS Year's Balance: []23,951,048,212,622,900.00 | $39,168,656,782,750,900.00
Current NS Year's Balance: []23,952,187,211,334,000.00 | $39,170,519,459,039,400.00

Tax Rate % of GDP: Can be found under 'taxation' on NS Trends Screen.
Domestic Revenue: Revenue your tax rate brings in plus the revenue generated from your various investment vehicles.
Domestic Spending: However much your government costs the taxpayers (can be found on your NS 'Government' Screen) Plus your international spending.

International Spending: Everything you buy on the international market using your parked surplus of cash. You'll put the name of the nation you bought the product from first, then the name of the corporate, then the name of the product, then how much it costs- in that order.

You'll want to use nation tags for all of your deals so that the company or corporation gets the advertising and the nation it resides in can also get a shout-out. Plus, it's just good business practice.

Budget Surplus/Deficit: That's going to be domestic revenue minus domestic spending. If it's negative, you're running a deficit. If it's positive, you're running a surplus.

You'll want to list your last NS year balance so that you can add or subtract from it to get your current balance.

All metrices are calculated using NS Trends. On the 'Trends' screen, you'll see a button below that can measure your own region. Time is measured by setting one NS year = one Earth day. This report is subject to change from NS year to NS year (day to day) and at least some NS years won't have a report at all.
States may create and use their own currencies, but the Universal Treasury Note is the one and only official currency of the United States of Independence Hill and must legally be accepted everywhere within the United States of Independence Hill.

Avg Income: Poorest 10%: 115,728.77 ($160,862.99) | Middle Class: 156,818.98 ($217,978.38) | Wealthiest 10%: 205,307.00 ($285,376.73)

Unemployment Rate: 2.46%

Minimum Wage: 7.72/hr ($10.73/hr) (There is a wide gap between people who make minimum wage and people who make the highest of the poorest 10%, the latter seems to have more people, driving average income of the poorest 10% higher.)

Avg Cost of an Automobile: 31,507.01 ($43,794.74) (Because your nation does not produce some of the materials needed for domestic automobiles, it seems you import this item. Therefore, calculations were taken from your region.)

Avg Cost of a Gallon of Gasoline: 1.97/Gal ($2.73/Gal) (Gas prices are tied to the model of car they belong to. Because so many cars exist in the NS world, gas is assumed to be micro-brewed to a specific model car.)

Avg Cost of a Residential Property: 354,275.75 ($492,443.29) (Prices for residential properties are up because demand is up. It is lucrative in your economy to become a landlord. A residential property, in relation to the monthly cost of rent can be thought of as large buildings which house hundreds of apartments.)

Avg Monthly Rental Costs: 396.08 ($550.55) (Rents are cheap because there are more apartments available than there are people looking for available apartments. Landlords must put it moderate effort to compete for tenants.)
------------------------------------------------------------------Federal Budget----------------------------------------
Tax Rate: 96.3% (Cut off at 57.3% of GDP)

Federal Revenue: 1.10 Q ($1.52 Q) (Your spending and revenue are equal because you have only yourself to account for. This section is usually reserved for regional governments charging taxes on its members.)

Federal Spending: 1.10 Q ($1.52 Q) (Taking on regional members does not take on additional costs. This is how you can stack up revenue as a regional government.)

Purchases: 0

Surplus/Deficit: +/- 0

Cash On Hand: 0 (Any money that makes it here cannot be put back into the system. It's better off being used to buy things in the economic forum or destroyed.)

Final thought: Things will become more expensive as you go along. You should gradually cut taxes by about 60% so your currency gains value and eventually outpaces your costs in the long run.

Avg Cost of a Gallon of Gasoline: 1.25/Gal ($4.63/Gal) (Because demand is low for automobiles, it is assumed that higher quality fuel for higher quality automobiles can get very expensive very quickly.)

Avg Cost of a Residential Property: 173,577.61 ($642,237.16) (Because the wealthiest 10% make less than the cost of a Residential Property, People in that bracket must rely upon savings or some sort of credit system built into the system itself to afford them.)

------------------------------------------------------------General Information----------------------------------
Date: 4/13/21

Total Population: 85 Million

National Civil Rights: 52.72 (Average)

National Economy: 19.33 (Weak)

National Political Freedom: 65.14 (Very Good)

Avg IQ: 47.98 (It doesn't mean what most would think it means. All this number really does is reflect the opportunities and potential your average population has access to. Your population does not have adequate access to opportunities that would increase potential over time.)
------------------------------------------------------------------------Economy---------------------------------
GDP: 2.46 T

GDP Per Capita: 28,941.17

Money Supply: 2.46 T ($664.2 B) (Because you cannot subtract 50 trillion in your case, your money supply is equal to your GDP and velocity of money cannot yet be measured)

Velocity of Money: N/A

Exchange Rate: 1.00 Gold Dinar = $0.27

Avg Income: Poorest 10%: 23,321.92 ($6,296.92) | Middle Class: 28,996.12 ($7,828.95) | Wealthiest 10%: 35,206.00 ($9,505.62)

Unemployment Rate: 23.04%

Minimum Wage: 9.80/hr ($2.65/hr)

Avg Cost of an Automobile: 106.40 ($28.73) (Your automobile industry is so underdeveloped that people are resorting to making their own in their garages and selling them to their neighbors for pennies on the NS Dollar. These automobiles, in almost all cases, would not be safe to drive.

Avg Cost of a Gallon of Gasoline: 0.02/Gal ($0.01/Gal) (Because these automobiles are mostly built out of spare parts from lawn mowers and weed eaters, unregulated and impure gasoline is cheaper than cleaner, more efficient alternatives.

Avg Cost of a Residential Property: 29,200.23 ($7,884.06) (Because you don't have your own wood chipping industry, the regional value was used for that calculation and it is assumed that you import these products.

Avg Monthly Rental Costs: 152.18 ($41.08) (These are apartments or single family homes that would probably be considered not livable by average NS world standards. The land is cheap and the square mileage is deep. You're cutting through thick vegetation to clear land for new development with limited technology.)
------------------------------------------------------------------Federal Budget----------------------------------------
This section is reserved for regions with governments that represent and collect taxes from its members.

So according to NS stats, my nation is poor but costs of living are very, very cheap, albeit for a low quality. And my GDP is not bad, I think. Thanks!

You're very welcome. I'm glad to do these reports for any and all who ask. Just so you know- yes, in terms of really high numbers, your GDP is up there. But, when you divide that equally between every member of your population, your GDP per capita, in terms of really high numbers, isn't quite as up there. This really lowers your economic prospects. Those who are employed have limited buying power and those at the very top don't want to hire or expand their businesses.

I highly recommend you cut taxes gradually so that your economy grows evenly over time and nothing is out of place when you get to the top. You want to keep income growth just a little ahead of cost growth.

Taking into account the previous statistics, how do you consider the economic outlook of the nation?
In my opinion it is very efficient in terms of production and purchasing power.

As far as the economic outlook of your nation, I feel it may be too late for you to cut taxes considering your incomes and costs are very high, because tax cuts create growth and will further exacerbate this situation. An automobile takes up almost one's entire salary in the poorest bracket and you're paying way too much for gasoline. Keep in mind, these automobiles and their fuels, they're of very high quality, which contributes to their costs. The demand is there because you're a nation of 3+ Billion with a very high level of technology and low unemployment. People are busy and they need to get to where they're going. Residential Property costs are out of control, but rents are reasonable.

Your entire nation seems to be one never ending city, with the average residential property being large buildings housing hundreds of apartments. The automobiles seem to be self driving and almost fully autonomous. It seems the only remedy I can think of for your ever rising costs is to specialize your economy (not completely or to a point of insanity) toward a vital industry. You're at a level where you need to strategically import products from your region that your nation would already be terrible at making anyway. The only way you can put this into action is to answer issues that would allow you to preserve what you want and implode what you don't want.

Keep your taxes where they're at until you have found the industry you want to depend on domestically and have imploded the ones you don't want. As your economy heals from the damage, cut taxes to stimulate demand and spending.
