Pepsia, So Pep
Just 24 minutes ago, Johnathan McAaron was a living man. Now, a coffin stands in his place. Mr. McAaron was sentenced to death by the Pepsia Traffic Court on Wednesday, after having been convicted in what many outside sources claim to be a sham or fraudulent trial. According to sources familiar with the matter, he was peacefully protesting before the So Peppian Capitol over So Peppian misbehavior in international forums. The day before, So Pep diplomats attempted to pressure regional leaders to eject a non-hostile, non-threatening nation without a trial before the Regional High Court.
As a then-Cabinet member, So Peppian authorities had the ability to bring forth prosecutions before the High Court. For yet unknown reasons, they chose not to do so. Upon learning that the demand for ejection had been declined by regional courts, So Peppian authorities seceded from the region and formed another. Whilst seceding is not inherently an offense, GPC representatives publicly declared their intention to invade and attack the Consortium. This, in the eyes of many governments, was an act of treason and sedition.
A separate trial is currently in progress over the state of So Pep and the Grand Peppian Commonwealth. However, intelligence suggests that Mr. McAaron's body will not be repatriated to Pax Forti.
"This is a grave violation of international law and human morality," said a Pax Fortian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, "and we will take all avenues to avenge Mr. McAaron's death." Similarly, KIDS Countrian officials denounced "the indifference this terrorist state demonstrates to international law." Helicopterian government officials stated that they were preparing for war. "Until such a time that a military resolution is achieved, we do not advise any of our citizens to visit the Grand Peppian Commonwealth."
This week, nearly 50 nations from the Global Union Consortium announced their intention to cease diplomatic relations with So Pep and Sartell Koltis. In the words of one former ambassador, "we believe that these measures are acceptable and necessary to free the good men of the GPC from the bonds and chains of their government."
Additional footage of the trial, which lasted a total of 15 minutes, were discovered on a phone smuggled out of the autocratic and dystopian So Peppian airports.
On Friday, KIDS Countrian forces bombed the coast of Sartell Koltis, destroying four destroyers, seven corvettes, and a cruiser. The maintenance depot and harbor were virtually decimated.
