Great Farmer certifies Barnumberg Accords clause on transfer of citizenship

The Great Farmer has now signed an executive order to finalize and certify one of the clauses of the Barnumberg Accords which would transfer the citizenship of Crabaiaian refugees protected by the Accords from Crabaiaia to Cavirfi, originally meant for the deal's expiry on March 2. The certification was delayed multiple times, once due to the pandemic, and twice due to the recent dissolutions of both the First Great Tribunal and the First Technocratic Council. Nevertheless, after 2 months of delay, the certification was signed in front of a small audience of 27 Crabaiaian refugees. The address was short but to those present it was somewhat emotional, after the signing of the order, the small audience cheered while waving handheld Crabaiaian and Cavirfite flags with one of the refugees who had been friends with the Great Farmer over the months giving her a hug that to both was considered emotional and tear-jerking, this was all followed by a modest round of applause.

The signing of this order and the certification marks the end of a one year legal transition period for the almost one million out of five million Crabaiaians living in Cavirfi who were protected by both Barnumberg Accords which were signed on March and September 2021 respectively. It also marks the beginning of a new chapter in Chano-Cavirfite relations, as Crabaiaia continues to face internal destabilization from Phase 2 of its Second Uprising and without anymore bargaining chips (Refugees) to hang over Cavirfi's head, it seems more and more likely that the 2 countries will finally see an end to their fierce and carefully managed rivalry.

Great Farmer condemns Trianica and Independent Liberation Front

2 Executive Orders have now been signed by the Great Farmer mandating Cavirfi's condemnation of Trianica and the Independent Griffon Liberation Front, this has come as recent protests against both regimes erupted in Cavirfi. The 2 regimes have reportedly committed atrocities such as torture of political opponents, neutralization of dissent, and state-sponsored slavery which both have stated were done under the name of Cavirfism, which the Great Farmer stated was her ideology. Believing that these atrocities were done in vain and in reality was disrespectful to the ideology, people across Cavirfi have protested the actions calling for triglobal condemnation of both regimes. The Great Farmer signed the executive orders in an address on May 11 and both condemnations contain what is referred to as a "full package" level of sanctions, prohibiting all financial and economic exchanges in what is supposed to be Cavirfist Trianica and the Cavirfist Independent Griffon Liberation Front who after the condemnation were forced by the Great Farmer (who is considered the de facto head of the movement) to leave and reconsider what their true ideology. Kitty Garnett, the leader of Trianica and self-proclaimed "Trianic Pope" chose to resist leaving the Cavirfist movement while Giuliano Artiglio former leader of Griffonia and current leader of the Independent Griffon Liberation Front (which is in exile but claims to be the sole legitimate government of Griffonia) formed a ripoff movement called "Clawvirfism". The condemnation of Trianica is set to end 1 year after Garnett lifts martial law in Trianica and the condemnation of the Independent Griffon Liberation Front is set to end only after all its members are convicted of what the Wolf Pack believes to be violations of international law. However protests continue as protestors have now called on the Great Farmer to condemn Ralphis after its president, Steve Davidson officially commended both regimes, however the Ministry of Government has stated that the Wolf Pack is still considering if a condemnation of Ralphis is necessary, considering that Ralphis itself has not violated any form of international nor is it currently committing any human rights violations or breaches of international law.

UF captures Fort Keen

A fireworks display has now occurred in UF territory after the UF seized control of Fort Keen, a fort which for the last 10 days has been the scene of fighting between it and the Civil Guard. On May 1, the UF began digging trenches around the perimeter of the Fort to prepare for a massive offensive, the Civil Guard having their machine guns and light tank range too far from where the trenches were being dug decided to instead reinforce the Fort with thousands and thousands of troops and equipment in preparation for what turned out to be the most brutal battle in this war which as of now has now gone on for more than a month. The battle begin on May 2 when a massive wave of UF soldiers charged at the fort in a similar fashion to what happened at Fort Felicia (which fell to the UF in late April), the Civil Guard were quick to unleash a total rain of fire which slowed down the UF advance enough for them to reload and prepare for the next one. On May 3, the next advance came and the cycle repeated itself and while this defense was effective in delaying the capture of the fort. The Civil Guard soon realized what prices they were paying in defending the fort, it is estimated that with everyday the Civil Guard continued fighting to defend Fort Keen, they lost 5.16% of their OVERALL forces to death or injury, and with the excessive losses, the Civil Guard called on more reinforcements to protect the fort, which led to more violence and casualties, which depleted the Civil Guard's manpower, until on May 11, the Civil Guard had no other choice but to abandon the fort, marking the end of the most brutal battle in this ongoing war. It has been reported that in the 39 days since the war began, the Civil Guard lost 56.94% of their TOTAL standing force to death, injury, or imprisonment with 27.64% of those losses being deaths. With over quarter of the Civil Guard now dead, confidence with General Commander Overton both as a civilian political leader and a wartime commander have now almost nearly been annihilated. The Overton administration had already began facing a sharp decrease in popularity with the revival of the 2nd Uprising and with the general elections now just over 2 weeks away for the Governorates and a week away for Imguria, the future that the next General Commander (whoever that may be) will inherit is going to be one of the hardest that a Crabaiaian leader will have to face since the domestic abuse crisis of the 90s.

For the 2022 general elections, the Federal Government has now declared the usual schedule for voting day, Imgurians will be heading to the ballot box on May 21 to elect both their new territorial government and their federal MPs, while everyone else are expected to be casting their ballots on May 28 to elect their local Parliaments as well as their MPs for the Federal Parliament. The official candidates for General Commander are: Almond Milk (CUP), Ian Arroyo (General Liberals), Parris Gross (General Conservatives), Tyreke Burch (Over Party), Kareena Hibbert (HoH), and Samuel Bate (Booker Party). General Commander Overton has declared Almond Milk's candidacy in particular illegitimate since he "didn't give prior approval as leader of the CUP". Milk was elected as leader of the CUP during the ongoing occupation of Parliament, his election as leader of the CUP was a demand from those who are participating or have participated in the occupation as part of a list of "reforms". Overton still believes himself to be the leader of the CUP and the rightful candidate for General Commander for the CUP in the 2022 elections but with no support even from his own party, there exists no legitimacy for such claim. Analysts expect Milk to win the 2022 elections but not in a landslide, in fact analysts expect that due to heavy skepticism of the CUP due to them being the ruling party (as the former Chanist Liberal and Chanist Conservative parties respectively) and the engineer of the alleged "OPLA regime" which was said to have began in 2009 with the election of Morty Mindyson and the creation of the "Anti-Abuse Act of 2009", which to OPLA critics was responsible for both (ironically) increasing domestic abuse rates and facilitating a modern and indirect genocide against the "good people of Crabaiaia"; analysts claim that due to these reasons, Milk is expected to preside over a minority government should he win the upcoming 2022 elections, Milk has stated that in this scenario he's not forming a coalition government instead he believes that a less divisive consensus government where cooperation between individual MPs rather than their respective parties are what Milk believes to be needed should he lead a minority government.

The Federal Government has now released their first official opinion polls for the 2022 elections, these polls' results are as follows (order of candidates based on current number of seats in Parliament, not based on rank in opinion polls):

CUP - Almond Milk: 44%
General Liberals - Ian Arroyo: 5%
General Conservatives - Parris Gross: 5%
Over Party - Tyreke Burch: 2%
HoH - Kareena Hibbert: 3%
Booker Party - Samuel Bate: 39%

Undecided/Not Voting/Can't Vote: 2%

A post hoc analysis by various independent political research institutes have shown that 4 of the 8 Justices for the Second Great Tribunal will be members of what is called the "Anti Wing" or the informal opposition to the Great Farmer. While the informal opposition is said to believe to have gained an additional 2 seats from the previous Technocratic Council. However support for the Tortune administration remains intact in the Technocratic Council with 54 of the 80 appointees being supportive of the administration. It is expected that any controversial Executive Orders made by the Great Farmer after the inauguration of the Second Great Tribunal can and will most likely be struck down with a majority verdict.

The Second Great Tribunal and Technocratic Council will be inaugurated on May 28.

1st Phase of 2022 General Elections held in Imguria

Note: This article is determined to be highly dramatized by its editor, reader's discretion is advised

As with every annual general election in Crabaiaia, there are 2 phases; the first phase is for voters in the territories and the second is for voters in the governorates. The first phase is usually held on May 21 and the second phase is usually held on May 28. However, with Phase 2 of the Second Crabaiaian Uprising and the UF-Crabaiaia War currently underway, the main electoral board has had a hard time on whether or not the normal election schedule continue citing safety concerns. However on May 15, the electoral board decided to go ahead with the normal election schedule with a few caveats. First, the Territory of Amine which is currently in a state of war will not participate in the election at all due to existence of disputed territory and just the simple fact that Amine is a warzone and will instead have the results of the previous election (2021 General Elections) apply for the 2022 elections, which according to opinion polls, almost all Aminese residents said they intended to vote the same way they did in 2021. Second, Imgurians intending to vote in the first phase must apply through a police registry to prevent tampering and "terrorism". On May 20, these caveats were finalized and the elections were allowed to be held as usual.

Today, Phase 1 of the 2022 Crabaiaian General Elections was held in the Territory of Imguria. 86% of Imguria's eligible voters showed up for the polls in the biggest turnout in Crabaiaian electoral history. Political analysts watched as each voter casted their ballot, being a solid territory, Imguria is expected to in a landslide elect the Booker Party to all 5 of their seats to Parliament as well as to all seats of their Territorial Parliament, the Booker Party is also expected to take charge of the Chief Executive of Imguria. The polls opened at 7:30 in the morning and votes were taken from there until 9:30 in the evening when the last ballot was casted in Imguria. Counting began at 10:00 and analysts have already betted everything on the Booker Party, who had long opposed the supposed discrimination of "good men" in Crabaiaia, and with the CUP now having a reformist and anti-"discrimination" leader, Almond Milk in charge of the party, whoever wins this Phase of the election will no longer matter to those who have long been accused of supporting such supposed discrimination, the people who are supposedly discriminated against have now won. As counting continues, it has already been reported that 21,512,228 voters casted their ballot in support of the Booker Party. With this information, it is safe to say that this Phase will be a sure win for the opposition

CUP wins 2022 general elections

A rally full of red lights and balloons illuminate an auditorium in Laker City as supporters of Almond Milk celebrate the victory of the Chanist Union Party (CUP) in the 2022 elections. The CUP has for the past year or so faced a decrease in their popularity and overall political stability in Crabaiaia as a result of their creation and the subsequent leadership of General Commander Overton for the 2021-2022 Political Season. The CUP along with their Chanist Liberal and Chanist Conservative predecessors has long been accused of perpetrating what's internationally recognized as the "OPLA Regime", a regime that began with the passage of the Prevention of Abuse Act of 2009 which was originally designed to combat the domestic abuse crisis in Crabaiaia that emerged in 2008 following the Global Recession. However even with the good (or on the surface good) intent of the law, it caused the backslide of multiple human rights and caused what many international observers call a "genocide" that caused the deaths of over 750,000 Aminese, Imgurians, "good men and women", and other minority groups. With the OPLA Regime having been caused by a Chanist Liberal-Chanist Conservative coalition government (which is embodied in its current form through the CUP), most Crabaiaians ignored the abuses until in 2014 when multiple people protested against legislation that will give corporations the free reign to control workers' behavior. This caused the coalition government to lose its popularity and in 2020, when former General Commander Fritz Milk legalized same sex marriage it caused an outburst of protests accusing her administration of "pinkwashing" the genocides and human rights abuses faced by the natives and the other aforementioned minorities. These protests then erupted into riots that caused the deaths of 15,000 people in what is now considered "Phase 1 of the Second Crabaiaian Uprising". Minor protests and movements took place in between April 2021 and February 2022 from there. But then inflation and a pirate war led to the Second Phase and a War in Amine which as of the moment has killed over 600,000 people and injured millions more.

Almond Milk was elected to be the leader of the CUP in April 2022 after previously serving as the leader of the Chanist Conservatives from 2019 to 2021, his election was recognized initially by General Commander Overton as illegitimate. Due to the fact that Milk's election was done out of pressure from protestors occupying Parliament, however the CUP practically ignored Overton's request to depose Milk as the party's new leader stating that "Pi Theory (CUP ideology) as it is right now is becoming increasingly irrelevant". Throughout the entirety of the election season, Milk, the husband of Overton's predecessor, Fritz Milk, has promised reforms in the country's political and socioeconomic system that will improve the rights of minorities. He has advocated long before his election as leader of the CUP, the end of the party's "Third Way" economics which he believes defeats the whole point of a welfare state in which he states that Crabaiaia should return to a more classical, orthodox, and left-leaning version of Social Democracy. Speaking of democracy, Milk has also promised to give the Aminese a long desired referendum regarding their status as both a territory of Crabaiaia and as a people group living in Crabaiaia. This is a shift from the traditional form of the more assimilationist and nationalistic policies of the CUP and preceding Chanist Liberal and Chanist Conservative parties. Regarding foreign policy, Milk, having served in Overton's cabinet as the Diplomacy Minister, has ran on a platform of ending Crabaiaia's rivalry with Cavirfi which had been going on since March 2021, he has also ran on a platform that opposes war and militarism. At the same time, he believes that Crabaiaia should separate diplomatically from the United States believing that the military has become a mercenary band to fight on America's behalf. Referencing an agreement made between Crabaiaia and the United States that was signed in 1981 that allowed the United States Government to pay the Crabaiaian military to fight wars of intervention under the American flag. This agreement is considered controversial by Crabaiaian leftists and right-wing populists and Milk has implied that he vowed to end it. These platforms while praised by many, others have viewed these platforms more suspiciously. Considering the fact that Milk had made statements years before when he was a member of the Chanist Conservatives' youth wing, supporting the 2 aforementioned acts (the abuse act in 2009 and the act that gave companies free reign to control their employees' behavior in 2014). However Milk has stated that he no longer believes these Acts were good and argued with evidence that he tried to convince General Commander Overton to repeal these acts during the early days of the latter's administration.

This suspicion ended with the results of the 2022 elections. The 2022 elections were held on May 21 in Imguria and May 28 in the rest of the country (except for Amine which is currently in a state of war) and the Electoral Board counted the following votes:

CUP (Almond Milk): 45%
Booker Party (Samuel Bate): 35%
General Liberals (Ian Arroyo): 6%
General Conservatives (Parris Gross): 6%
Over Party (Tyreke Burch): 4%
HoH (Kareena Hibbert): 4%

So while Milk did win the election, it seems that he will have to preside over a minority government. Nevertheless, Milk spent a couple of days after the election planning the agenda for his government should he be the one responsible to form the 53rd Administration for the 2022-2023 political season. Afterwards, he held a rally on June 14 to thank his supporters for electing him to office stating that "true democracy will return to Crabaiaia". Red lights filled the auditorium that the rally took place at and Milk's supporters flashed hand signs forming the Greek letter "Lambda", a Greek letter that Milk has flashed throughout his campaign. Stating how "I advocate on behalf of marginalized groups who are treated as if they are losers". The rally lasted until yesterday when Milk returned to Parliament building which as of then was still occupied by protestors.

Milk and the 53rd Parliament of the Chanic Councils of Crabaiaia will be inaugurated on June 18 and as a result Police called for protestors to end the 71-day long occupation of Parliament grounds. Protestors obliged due to the fact that most of their demands have now been met. As of writing, Parliament grounds has been peacefully cleared of any protestors. Allowing for the inauguration ceremony, MPs who will be serving another term were escorted home by Police to allow them to prepare for the inauguration ceremony. While incoming MPs who are currently in their homes preparing for the inauguration will be escorted to Parliament building by the Police. The inauguration will take place like a usual Crabaiaian inauguration ceremony with the outgoing General Commander handing over his seat to the incoming General Commander. However for that to take place, General Commander Overton will have to recognize Milk's legitimacy.

Good news for Milk, today, General Commander Overton had made a declaration of concession announcing that the protests have become unstable to the point that he has lost any control of the situation and that he will now be accepting of the results of the 2022 elections and recognize Milk as the General Commander-elect. As a result of Overton's statement, people across the country celebrated his "capitulation".

With the path for a transition to a post "OPLA Regime" Crabaiaia cleared of any obstacles, it seems that Crabaiaia may change for better or for worse.

Almond Milk inaugurated as General Commander

Last Saturday, the 2021-2022 Political Season officially ended with the inauguration of Almond Milk as General Commander by outgoing General Commander Nathan Overton. The inauguration was held on the afternoon of June 18 and followed much the same style of Overton's inauguration. MPs assembled at the main chamber of Parliament building after a long occupation by protestors. Milk had gone home to his apartment in Westside to prepare for the inauguration. After 2 days of preparations, he went to Parliament to be inaugurated. At morning that day, Overton stood up from the General Commander's seat and prepared to surrender his position to Milk. Various ceremonies were held between morning and right before noon. After the ceremonies were finished, Overton officially surrendered the office of the General Commander to Almond Milk and on noon, Milk took the seat and made a speech.

Friends, family, citizens of Crabaiaia.

We have been through the worst political and humanitarian crisis that this country has faced since the end of the Civil War, we have just faced the second most violent crisis of the 2020s. Over half a million people are dead, millions more are injured, and the Police and the Military has lost total control of the situation. We are still facing this problem, more people are dying, more people are getting hurt, more people are getting arrested.

But as much as we can say about "oh how horrible" this crisis was, how we can send our "thoughts and prayers" and post with hashtags saying "PEACE TO CRABAIAIA" on Twitter and other social media. We always forget the fundamental problem that causes all these uprisings, that causes all this violence, that causes all the racism and the sexism and the sectarian and class divide that is destroying this nation, that is degrading this nation, that is degenerating this nation.

WE ARE NOT A REAL DEMOCRACY

We are a "democracy" for the privileged, we are a democracy for those who are "healthy"; who are "mature" enough and worthy enough to have rights. But anyone else who don't wanna fit in to the excessively free and careless lifestyles of those who have total control over this society simply do not have rights. They are less of a man, they are less of a woman, less of a person. In a democracy, people have rights, and since in our "democracy", certain peoples are "lesser people", they have lesser rights if any at all.

We've lost all sense to have national pride, we've lost a golden age in Crabaiaian history when none of this was that big of a problem, it was still a problem sure but not to the extent that we're facing the deaths of thousands of men, women, and children who have nothing to do with causing the chaos. We used to be a united nation, a harmonious nation, a nation that was ready to build and to heal from a dictatorship that brutally suppressed victims of abuse and any other deplorable act.

Speaking of dictatorship, let us remember that 52 years ago, Thomas Reinhart, the first leader of this united country, was overthrown for his authoritarian tendencies. By who?

Was it the military? No

Was it the cops? No

Was it his Parliament? No

IT WAS THE PEOPLE OF CRABAIAIA

The people of Crabaiaia decided enough was enough, they grabbed their flags, their weapons, and everything that they can be used to harm a controlling leader and his men. From there they put maximum pressure and caused maximum damage to the regime that it was basically "beyond repair". Reinhart was overthrown and the Crabaiaian people were free. From there in the 1970s, our country's people made a promise. Long Live the Good of Crabaiaia. It was a promise, not a prediction, not a bet, a promise we should've kept for decades to come.

Guess what? In 1992, we passed an act that backslided the rights of the good, not severely sure, Parliament left enforcement of that act to the local governments who lack much authority. But it still backslided some rights and that led to the downfall of a true and full democracy in Crabaiaia. Our democracy started to gain flaws, cracks appeared, checks and balances on society slowly collapsed, and all of this will culminate in much worse decay. Nevertheless, 22 years after we FAILED our promise to ourselves. We destroyed the good, not yet back then, but we were on the path to destruction.

Then in 2009 because of the economic stagnation and the domestic violence at home. The abusers found a scapegoat and that scapegoat gave the government a free reign to unleash an Act that caused a SEVERE backslide in both our rights as good people of Crabaiaia and in our democratic qualities.

In 2014, we passed another act and it once again caused a severe backslide in our rights. The backslide was already severe in 2009 and it had already began a series of killings, many call it a genocide, I do, and I bet some of you in this chamber will deny it, but it happened, it's happenING. We are in a state of genocide. But anyways, in 2014, we passed an act, backslide our rights even more. Eventually the people said enough was enough again. They protested but of course we had already lost our true democracy, the last thing democratic about us was that we held free elections. It's debatable whether those elections were fair, but they were certainly free. Even with that, we still lost a lot of our democratic qualities. We limited our freedom of speech, our freedom of press, we didn't censor the Internet but it was still enough. Being a dissenter here is dangerous, when in the West you simply get cancelled and your reputation can live on. Here, you get cancelled, and you're on a list for assassination or attempts to incarcerate. So without any liberty, the unchecked government of 2014 decided "let's quash the dissent". Police came in, beat the protestors with their batons, and called it a day. No justice was served, no liberty was given, just the daily grind of living in an authoritarian democratic regime.

Now, it's the 2020s, we still haven't regained our rights. So we tried again, 50 years on, we've risen up to our despots, we'll do it again. We did it, many people died, friends and families were separated, and people fled the country. It shouldn't have come to this, why didn't we learn from 2014? We could have saved more people if we just listened to what our people really want. They want justice, they want freedom, they want equality, people. GIVE IT TO THEM. We do not have to see anymore people die just so others can finally walk on this land and feel free. Why does it have to come this? Just give in, save lives, restore freedom and all of this all this it would've not happened, we would be happy, we would be free, we would be successful.

What am I trying to gain from saying this? Nothing. I'm just saying what the Crabaiaian people feel, the Crabaiaian people voted not for me, not for Bate, not for Overton, not for the fringe parties, no one. They voted for themselves, they voted for their future, they voted for this country to be free again. The people liberated themselves, THEY WANT NOTHING MORE THAN TO EXPERIENCE WHAT CRABAIAIA HAD BEEN 43 YEARS AND OVER AGO. They want to experience a society of liberty and prosperity, not of authority and persecution. They voted for themselves and assigned us to set the groundwork for which they have liberated themselves.

Let us not indulge in the corruption and suppression of previous administrations, we need to move forward, we need to refresh what had decayed years ago. My goal now as the General Commander of this nation is to guide this nation to fix the economic damages caused by the flaws and mess ups of previous administrations, abolish the oppressive systems that have been allowed to legitimize the backslide of this nation towards authoritarianism, increase the checks and balances on both society and the government, befriend our rivals who want nothing more than to see us liberate ourselves, and to take back whatever was stolen from the past.

For it is what the Crabaiaian people have asked for, it is what they will deserve, it is what they will get. It is what they need.

Free this nation, it's what the people want. If we are a full democracy, we would've done it by now. Let's not fail our promises by doing nothing.

Thank you.

Milk's speech was met with claps and cheers from the Opposition who were responsible for supporting him during the 2022 General Elections despite partisan differences.

With Milk inaugurated as the General Commander of Crabaiaia, the Overton administration is now officially over. The political season 2022-2023 has now officially begun.

Milk has outlined in his legislative agenda the plans for which he is to carry out what some of his supporters call "the liberation of the Crabaiaian nation". The agenda outlines his economic plans which focuses on a high spending, no taxes, and pro-regulation solution to certain economic issues in what analysts call "a return to Classical Social Democracy". Milk plans to abolish taxes to allow lower class Crabaiaians to afford things easier while setting up strict labor and environmental regulations to protect both the working class and the environment from what he calls "predatory businesses". For his human rights agenda, he plans to abolish the boarding school system (meant to reeducate children of suspected terrorists or "traitors"), abolish a protective act set up by the Halworths administration in 2014, abolish an "anti-abuse" act (which only worsened the Domestic Violence Crisis of 2008 as per multiple peer-evaluated studies) set up by the Mindyson administration in 2009, and loosen restrictions on the media and dissent. He stated that as an optional task, he plans to abolish the 1992 safety act mentioned in his speech as well as the 1991 "Anti-Abuse" Act (which Milk claims only worsened the Domestic Violence Crisis of the 1990s and consequentially restricted the right to free speech), however he believes abolishing these acts are "optional and up to the people". As for his diplomatic agenda, Milk plans to end a mercenary agreement between Crabaiaia and the United States made in the 1970s and end the rivalry with Cavirfi to form an alliance. He also plans to pacify the military by decreasing spending, reforming the Civil Guard, and making a deal with the UF to end the ongoing war between the two in Amine.

For now Milk will focus on his economic agenda by making an omnibus bill that he plans to discuss with Parliament starting on June 21, Tuesday. He states that once his economic agenda is addressed that he will go on to solve the more socially-oriented issues outlined in his plans.

Parliament approves 2022 economic policy

Parliament has now voted 79 to 5 (with 16 abstentions) to approve General Commander Almond Milk's 2022 economic policy. The policy was first discussed on June 20 as part of the new Milk administration's first course of action. The Government presented its case for high spending and tight regulations arguing Keynesian economics drives economic growth through consumer spending while the Opposition instead betted for loose regulations and balanced spending arguing that the Government needed to be fiscally conservative to prevent budget deficits. The Government then argued that they will be using money that was paid for by "foreign treaties", although Milk didn't state which foreign nation was giving the money debt free to Crabaiaia (but it's obvious to many that he was talking about Cavirfi). The Opposition continued by arguing that inflation will kill the economy if not public debt. The Government then finished the argument stating that the rise in the "Papa Rei" economy proves that inflation won't be much of a problem when it comes to government spending. Discussions ended on June 27 and a compromise was made that day. Such a compromise was then written into a bill and voted today. The Speaker announced Parliament's approval of the bill and Milk signed the new general economic policy into law.

The new policy is a mixture of the Keynesian proposals of the Government and the more Economically Liberal ideas of the Opposition. For spending and regulations. The law lists:

-$240.136T will be spent on Government Administration
-$240.136T will be spent on Public Education
-$240.136T will be spent on Public Healthcare
-$240.136T will be spent on Business Subsidization
-$20T will be spent on Environmental Protection
-$9.216T will be spent on Welfare
-$5.12T will be spent on the Military and general National Defense
-$5.12T will be spent on the Federal Police

For a total of $1Q or 390.63% of the national GDP with most of the money being paid for by said debt free foreign treaties. For more local government services like water, electricity, agriculture, local policing, and public transport. The local governments will be each given approximately $17T to decide on how to divide the spending.

As for regulations, Parliament has agreed to the following:

-Strict environmental regulations that govern how waste is disposed, how much fossil fuels can be used all at once nationally, how cars must fit certain standards of fuel efficiency (if they rely on fossil fuels to run), etc.

-Strict labor regulations that govern:

*Overtime pay is mandatory, failure to pay such overtime pay is punishable by a fine of 20% of the unpaid employees' income, minimum overtime pay is set at $50 an hour.
*The work week is set to 30 hours maximum. Work days can only last at maximum 15 hours (so longest work day setup is at 15 hours for 2 days a week and the longest work week setup is at 4-and-a-quarter hours for 7 days a week). Any work day and/or work week that is longer than what is federally allowed must be paid with overtime.
*Employers cannot ban labor unions
*Businesses are required to have their conditions inspected by the Ministry of Economics failure to meet standards set up by the Federal and Local Governments will result in fines or even revocation of licenses.

For more economically liberal caveats to Parliament's agreed upon policy. Crabaiaia will maintain a no minimum wage policy, all taxes shall be abolished, and banks and other financial services shall outside of previously mentioned labor regulations have no other restrictions on how they conduct their business.

General Commander Milk states that foreign trade as an economic issue will be discussed later on into his term. Speaking of which, when interviewed by Krabjas 24/7, Milks states that:

Well honestly I was gonna go for an economic policy that was maybe a bit more paternalistic. But this is a democracy after all and outside of elections in order to conduct a healthy and mature democracy which is something that this nation needs right now. We as the Government needs to work with the Opposition and issues that are fundamental to this nation such as this. I wanted to install a minimum wage, but the Leader of the Opposition didn't want that, we negotiated, and I agreed to his terms. It's how leadership should work if we want to move forward.

Milk later stated that his main priority is improving the human rights situation in the country and that working with the Opposition was crucial to fast track his agenda without risking the economy.

Economists predict that along with other so called "papa rei" (high spending, low or no taxes) economies such as Wiessprussine and Animalia. Crabaiaia is expected to face extreme economic growth over the coming years. A rebound from the near likelihood of recession that the Uprising initially threatened.

But with economic policy now set aside (at least for now). Milk's Government can now focus on what he has wanted to focus on as promised during his campaign. Social issues and human rights.

Chano-Cavirfite Sea Storm forms and moves East towards Cavirfi

Today, a storm formed in the Chano-Cavirfite Sea following a usual storm cycle. While most storms in this region would normally stay in place due to a series of winds keeping them locked in place. One of the locking streams moving South from Crabaiaia was shifted geographically by the Chonkies. As a result it changed from a Southern direction to a Southeastern one. This resulted in the storm now being pushed East to Cavirfi. As soon as reports of the storm being pushed East were published by weather stations in Bernchinshot and Bornesandgrave. Both municipalities went into a state of emergency declaring that all residents must prepare for what is to come (especially since they will be first hit). Other municipalities were also alerted of this but as of now they've only advised residents to prepare. Many Cavirfites who live in either apartment blocks or bungalows made of heavy materials already have preparation kits and plans, but those who live in homes made of lighter materials are more vulnerable to the possibility of harm should they decide to take cover in their homes if (or when) the storm hits land. As a result, most of these people have now begun preparations for the storm.

As of now, the current wind speed of the storm is 190 kilometers per hour (approximate) which is on par with typhoons like Haiyan and Goni (locally known as Yolanda and Rolly respectively in the Philippines) as well as hurricanes like Harvey and Katrina. The storm is projected to make landfall with Cavirfi around June 2 or 3.

Parliament initiates debate on the boarding school system

General Commander Milk has now proposed to Parliament the abolition of the Boarding School System, a move which if approved by Parliament will end a 42-year long program smeared with controversy and accusations of current use in genocide.

The Boarding School system was set up by the 11th Parliament to counter the rise of Communism in Crabaiaia near to the end of the Cold War. The system was designed to "reeducate" children of Communist activists or sympathizers. The Boarding School System built thousands of branches across the country and "reeducated" millions of children of Communists in Crabaiaia in what is now known as the "Red Purge" which lasted from 1980 to 1987 and ended with the deaths of between 250,000 to 2.5 million people. The Red Purge is the only genocide that the Federal Government currently recognizes but this event only marked the beginning of more controversy for this system.

The Federal Government had allegedly killed 3 million Christians, Muslims, and Jews in 1994. This event known as the Abrahamic Crisis was the second instance in which the Federal Government has been accused of using the Boarding School System in abusive and excessive ways. Allegedly, the Federal Government used the Boarding School System to brainwash Christian, Muslim, and Jewish children into practicing the Hellenistic faith. Failure to comply by commands by teachers of these schools usually led to these children allegedly being "disciplined" using abusive methods such as physical violence and mental torture. This dragged on until 1995 when the Abrahamic Crisis allegedly ended.

Although no longer used on such a scale. The Boarding School System has still been used to reeducate the children of terrorists from groups like the White Knight Order and Dvomodia Amine. Activists call this use of the system as a "cog in the OPLA regime". The OPLA regime being a term coined by the Opposition and the international community as a means to call Crabaiaia's current political situation of being an authoritarian democracy rife with alleged genocide of the Aminese, "good men", and other marginalized groups. Because of this, combined with past abuses of the system, the Opposition has long called for the abolition of it. A movement which General Commander Milk during his early days in politics condemned but as he stands now, he is fully behind abolishing the system.

Milk proposed the "Boarding School Systems Abolition Act of 2022" to Parliament at 10 AM today and the Speaker initiated the debate by noon. A majority of the opposition is expected to support the bill while the Government is expected to vote based off of their conscience. The debate is expected to end on July 6 while the vote is expected to be held on July 7.

Parliament abolishes Boarding School system

Earlier in the afternoon, Parliament voted to officially abolish the infamous Boarding School system in an 87 to 6 (with 7 abstentions) vote. The vote came after a week of discussion initiated by General Commander Milk. The Boarding School system was a program set up by the Federal Government in 1980 for the expressed purpose of "reeducating" the children of suspected terrorists and rebels. The system has become infamous for its use against the children of leftist activists in the 80s; Christian, Muslim, and Jewish children in the 90s; and the children of Aminese and "good man" activists in the present day. Critics of the system regard it as torturous, inhumane, and abusive. While supporters of the system believe it to be necessary to ensuring Crabaiaia's sovereign security. Nevertheless, as soon as the Speaker of Parliament announced the result of the vote. The Opposition cheered as a system that they had long sought abolished finally came to an end.

The abolition of the Boarding School system is a part of General Commander Milk's legislative agenda as listed by the website of the Chanist Union Party. Milk said in a press conference after the vote was announced that:

I believe that the abolition of the boarding school system is a step towards further progress away from authoritarianism in this country, however the fight is not yet over. I will be consulting Parliament over the next few days regarding further notes in my legislative agenda. An agenda which I believe needs to be fulfilled in order for our democracy to heal.

Milk also stated that he will be initiating a discussion in Parliament on whether to abolish or reform an anti-harassment act passed by the Halworths Government in 2014 which Milk claims only further restricted freedom of speech and freedom of movement in the workplace. The Speaker had already certified the initiation and the discussion is expected to begin at noon today.

UF begins trench warfare campaign

Earlier this morning, the leader of the UF had announced the beginning of a trench warfare campaign against the Civil Guard. This is the first time that the UF has issued an order calling for concerted efforts against the Civil Guard since the end of the Battle of Fort Keen, a battle which saw the UF victoriously seize the Fort from the Civil Guard. The Battle of Fort Keen ended around May this year and in the immediate aftermath of the battle, most of the heavy fighting that took place between the Civil Guard and the UF had begun to die down, however it wasn't over. Throughout the entirety of May, the UF was busy building itself a trench system designed to protect its occupied territories from slipping into Crabaiaian hands. During the building of such trenches, there was intense fighting between the UF and Crabaiaia however most of the fighting in the region was moderate by then.

In June, combat intensity reached its lowest point, casualties were typically only at the hundreds or even tens instead of the thousands per week. In fact, in some days, there was no combat at all, just an intense showdown between Civil Guard troops and the UF. Analysts had predicted that the inauguration of Almond Milk as General Commander would decrease the intensity of combat in Amine. However such predictions were ultimately in vain as soon as the UF announced the beginning of its trench warfare campaign against Crabaiaia.

As of now, fighting has been intensified by the declaration and many have already been killed or injured especially civilians. The UF states that the trench warfare campaign until the war ends through either a peace treaty (which they demand to be in their favor) or through the total capitulation and annihilation of the Civil Guard.

Power and Internet access restored after repairs

Today, all power and internet access nationwide is restored after repairs from damages caused by a massive 190 km/h Chano-Cavirfite Sea Storm that struck the country on July 2. The storm formed on June 29 and analysts predicted that the storm would either dissipate or make landfall with the country around the weekend. The latter prediction was correct as the storm made landfall on Saturday causing heavy infrastructural damages to the country caused by a lack of building regulations. After the storm, a recorded (but due to technical issues, non-live) address to the nation was given by the Great Farmer apologizing for not acting sooner and afterwards creating an Executive Order that would repair the damages caused by storm and fortify national infrastructure to be more resilient against future disasters that include storms and earthquakes. The Executive Order also ordered for the rescue of 94,507 people reported missing after the storm. The operation took place on July 4 and was successful. From July 3 to July 13, repairs took place for damaged infrastructure affected by the storm. Alone, these repairs costed the Government almost NS$5 trillion. With the upgrade of infrastructure to better protect against future disasters, the Government had to pay over NS$36 quadrillion. This Executive Order is by far the most expensive signed by the Great Farmer.

On July 13, the repairs and protection upgrades to national infrastructure had been finished and all business is expected to run again in the following days.

Initially, 17,055 people were reported killed by the storm and a further 60,642 were injured. As for those reported missing, 78,338 were found dead, 8,857 were found injured, and only 7,312 were found unharmed. In total, 95,393 were killed and 69,499 were injured in the storm. Making this the deadliest event in Cavirfi as of July 13, 2022.

Federal Government undertakes Project Plutonia II as part of infrastructure plans

Last Saturday, the Wolf Pack approved a bill passed by the Technocratic Council that would initiate second stage to the Government's previous Project Plutonia, an infrastructure project that was first finished in September of 2021. The new edition of the Project would add additional power plants and introduce to all cities in Cavirfi trams and subways, as well as introduce to the entire country a national railroad system connecting every city by rail. The project began last Sunday and is now on its third day, it costs over 20 quadrillion dollars to initiate, and now it is in its fourth day. The trams are expected to open somewhere in August 2022 while the other trains and power plants are expected to open somewhere in October or November of 2022.

Parliament approves final reform bill for "Anti-Abuse Act of 2009"

Today this afternoon, Parliament voted to approve the final reform bill that would eliminate a few controversial sections of the "Anti-Abuse Act of 2009" passed by the Mindyson Government in a 46-8 vote with 46 abstentions. The reform bill was passed just a week after it was first drafted on July 29 when the Speaker initiated a survey in Parliament that allowed for the reform but not the abolition of the controversial Act.

The Act, as per name passed in 2009, was a bill meant to solve the rise in domestic violence cases after Crabaiaia's stagnation during the Great Recession. It called for sweeping measures that allowed the Federal Police increases in their authority to detain and convict anyone suspected of the crimes of assault within the context of a relationship; psychological manipulation as per its predecessor passed in 1991; and child abuse whether it be physical, emotional, or mental. The Police were allowed to exercise these increases to their power "as prescribed by the court of popular opinion within the area where such accusations were made" i.e on behalf of mob justice.

The Act was celebrated at first but then some parts of the country quickly backslided into police states and the law was later criticized and condemned for its authoritarianism and brutality. It has been alleged that this bill marked the beginning of the so called "OPLA Regime", a regime that facilitated the OPLA. An alleged genocide against Crabaiaia's "good men and women", the Aminese, and social minority groups. As the Police were given unchecked powers to launch forced suicide campaigns against dissidents and the Federal Government for the most part did nothing and in fact as confirmed in a probe by the Supreme Court of the Worlds Congress that same year; the Federal Government was in fact sponsoring the neutralization of dissent in Crabaiaia.

Calls for the repeal of the bill have been made since 2010 and for the next 11 years, violent protests periodically erupted over it. In 2014, after the Halworths Government reinforced the Act with a law of their own (Anti Workplace Harassment Act of 2014) which it too was reformed by Parliament and Cabinet just this year. Violent mobs took to the streets to besiege multiple government buildings in a political crisis known simply as the "2014 Crisis". Then in 2020, the Second Uprising began (which repeal for the bill was part of the demands made by protestors) and as of July almost a million people have been killed and millions more injured by the riots and wars that took place as a result of the Uprising.

In July 22 of this year, General Commander Milk initiated a debate in Parliament regarding whether or not this Act should remain, be abolished, or be reformed. As stated, on July 29 Parliament voted to reform the act and today, the final reform bill was passed.

The reform bill eliminates clauses in the bill that give the Police absolute power to investigate into any of the aforementioned crimes proscribed in the bill, instead setting up a three-layer system that allows for courts and local governments to get involved in investigations. Another involves the "popular court" clause which states that the Police must commit their actions based on the prescriptions of the community, that clause according to the new reformed bill has been deactivated except "in certain cases as recommended by local governments", this is to prevent what lawmakers believe is discriminatory court practices on the basis of race, religion, or creed.

The final reform bill having passed with little opposition was immediately submitted to General Commander Milk's cabinet who by convention signs the bill into law whether they approve it or not. However it seems that in this case, General Commander Milk is fully in favor of the reform bill.

With 2 of the controversial "OPLA root" laws having been weakened, General Commander Milk states that tomorrow he will initiate a discussion in Parliament to hold peace talks with the UF in the hopes that he can end a war that has been raging for 4 months now.

Massacre breaks out in Bloshaburg

This afternoon, a massacre broke out in Bloshaburg after a clash between Bloshaburg Local and Blosha Gubernatorial police versus several pro-uprising minor insurgent groups and criminal gangs escalated into violence against innocent civilians. The clashes began last night when Purgatory, a local drug gang that began selling meth and cocaine to protestors for usage as stimulants clashed with the Bloshaburg Local police after an arrest warrant was carried out for fifteen of its members under charges of "the unauthorized sale of methamphetamines and cocaine". Cocaine and Meth, which are legal drugs to use in the country still carry heavy regulations regarding their sale and Police (federal, gubernatorial, or local) have carried out arrests against anybody selling the drugs without legal certification from the Ministry of Health. Based on these charges, Police were allowed to raid Purgatory's den and arrest its members. However, as Police began the raid they were immediately met with gunfire from Purgatory members and soon enough small insurgent groups buying drugs from Purgatory joined in the clashes, afterwards these clashes escalated into riots between third party supporters of the Uprising and the Police, then the violence escalated into a massacre of innocent civilians. Civilians were sniped by both police and uprising snipers left and right and the city descended into further chaos. Buildings were destroyed, water was cut, and public buildings were occupied. 16,266 people have been killed because of the massacre and a further 1,493,561 were injured with 2,671,805 more arrested.

The UF has condemned the violence calling it "another demonstration of Federal violence" while General Commander Milk has condemned the violence and has now urged the Government of Blosha to reshuffle the leadership of the gubernatorial police force. Meanwhile the Government of Blosha itself has urged the Mayor of Bloshaburg to investigate into the actions of the Police force.

People across the country have condemned the violence in Bloshaburg and many have hold vigils in commemoration of the victims. Bloshaburg is the second incidence where a massacre took place in the Uprising and is the deadliest by far followed by the Hellfar Massacre committed last April.

Government signs peace treaty with the UF

The Federal Government has now signed a peace treaty with the UF after 3 days of meeting them in the city of Savia that will effectively end the war in Amine in most of its fighting. The meeting began on Monday when General Commander Milk landed in Savia to meet with the leader of Dvomodia Amine who is the de facto leader of the UF to discuss the end of the war. Several concessions were proposed but were then later rejected by both sides. The two sides held four sessions, two on Monday and one each on the other days discussing the matters at which peace shall be made. Then on the fourth session, a final list of concessions were submitted and the two sides agreed to those.

The peace treaty eponymically dubbed "The Treaty of Savia" outlines the conditions in which the UF is to end all official hostilities with Crabaiaia:

Crabaiaia is to concede the following;
-Fully repeal: The Anti Workplace Harrassment Act of 2014
-Fully repeal: The Anti-Abuse Act of 2009
-Fully repeal: The Anti-Abuse Act of 1991
-Give Amine a referendum on their status as a territory of Crabaiaia
-Pay 1 trillion USD to the UF as compensation for the war

While the UF concede the following:
-Return all forts captured in the war to Crabaiaia
-Return control of Chatia, Amine's capital, to Crabaiaia
-Disband 25% of active forces

The treaty doesn't state whether the UF can keep the other territories they gained in the war, but it is expected that a de facto agreement has formed between the two parties that allows the UF to continue occupying such holdings militarily while allowing the Federal Government to administer sovereignty over the holdings politically.

Since the nature of the treaty mandates that Crabaiaia shall repeal the so called "core laws" of the so called "OPLA Regime", the treaty is believed to not just be the end of the UF War but the OPLA Regime so called at large.

With that said, the UF-Crabaiaia War is now over.

"Sunrise Thursday" held nationwide

Millions of citizens across the country have gathered to hold a celebration to the end of the alleged OPLA Regime, the celebration called "Sunrise Thursday" was celebrated the day after the laws holding such an alleged regime were repealed following the signing of the Treaty of Savia which has officially ended the UF-Crabaiaia War. The celebrations were held by yelling a single chant:

"RESENT MAKES DISSENT"
"DISSENT MAKES DEMOCRACY"
"DEMOCRACY MAKES FREEDOM"
"FREEDOM FOR OUR FUTURE"

Which was repeated over and over again, cars were beeping, horns were blaring, and flags were waved as the goals of the Uprising were finally fulfilled. Thus ending most of the hostilities caused by the Uprising.

While most violence has now calmed down, an avoidable spillover effect is still ongoing and General Commander Milk has now ordered Police to inform any remaining rioters that the demands have been met. Meanwhile the UF-Crabaiaia War has ended however holdouts also remain and so the Civil Guard and the UF has now begun cooperating with each other to look for such holdouts.

Although the official number of casualties caused by the Uprising and the Amine War combined have not yet been released. At least 956,264 have been killed, 14,900,851 have been injured, and 14,451,730 have been incarcerated at some point during the events.

Students at University of Barnumberg clash with campus security as student protests continue

(This article has been edited 9 times in total; 9 of 9 edits are insignificant, 4 of 9 changes were edits to the footnote, and 5 of 9 edits were the addition of and fixes to this heading)

Students at the University of Barnumberg have engaged in a mild clash with campus security as student protests over the 2 week suspension of students who shall be left unnamed. The suspension began on May 6 after the students created and posted an infographic that talked about the allegedly* ongoing system of apartheid in Australia which allegedly* discriminates against NiceGuys and Aboriginals living in the country severely. The infographic details the allegedly* ongoing human rights violations in Australia, how those alleged* violations have caused a refugee crisis in neighbouring regions and countries such as Southeast Asia and New Zealand, and how Australia allegedly* attempts to spread the ideology of apartheid to Southeast Asia and New Zealand in order to allegedly* take back the refugees seeking asylum in those countries. The infographic ended with the phrase "Viva Suræesten Asija" which translates to "Long Live Southeast Asia" in Estiman, a common phrase among NiceGuy Pan-Nationalists calling for international action to prevent the alleged* spread of apartheid in Southeast Asia. The administration at the University of Barnumberg cited the inclusion of "Viva Suræesten Asija" at the end of the infographic as the reason for the suspension saying that it was:

inflammatory...it is an indirect but well known phrase used to incite violence against Australian nationals, specifically Australian nationals who are neither NiceGuys and/or Aboriginals, whom those who commonly utter the phrase deem as "the problem" in the allegedly ongoing issues surrounding Australia and the Asia-Pacific.

The students were given the suspension officially on May 3 and began such suspension on May 6 however as the university has a 4-month summer break between the 2023-2024 Academic Year which ended yesterday, May 10 and the 2024-2025 Academic Year which is set to begin on Monday, September 9. The suspended students are required to serve the remainder of the suspension from September 9 to September 13, the first week of the new school year.

The suspension of the students involved in making and posting the infographic on Twitter and Instagram has sparked student protests with 85% of students at the University of Barnumberg saying that they would boycott the beginning of the school year and that they would also be staging an encampment preventing university staff from moving around the campus to do out-of-class work. The encampment began on Tuesday, May 7 (the fourth day of the summer break) as students demanded the revocation of the suspension, plus an erasure of the suspension from the students' records, and either one of three acts of compensation to the suspended students for the suspension:

  • Full forgiveness of student debt for the students suspended
  • The right to do a week of pre-year class from September 2 to September 6
  • A letter of acknowledgement that Australia is an apartheid state

The university's administration has ruled out full forgiveness of debt and a letter of acknowledgement. The administration explained the forgiveness of debt was off the table due to the fact that 3 of the 5 students suspended paid for their course via a full scholarship, the fourth student paid out of pocket as he is from a wealthy family, and only the fifth student enrolled with a student loan which was already in the process of being repaid through federal universal basic income and debt-free financial aid provided by the incumbent federal government of Chancellor Valentina Lehmann. As for the letter of acknowledgement, the administration cites that their reason is:

Australia has not been convicted of the crime of apartheid in either the International Court of Justice (ICJ) or the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Throughout the student protests, students were all heard chanting "Viva Suræesten Asija" in an attempt to provoke suspensions followed by "You can't suspend us all" to pressure the administration to either give in to the demands or suspend every student at the encampment. Students also chanted "Free Palestine" and "Free Canada" in order to protest Israel's actions regarding Gazan civilians in the ongoing war in Gaza and to protest Canada's similar alleged* system of apartheid against NiceGuys and Indigenous Canadians allegedly* similar to that of Australia with allegedly* similar foreign policy but with Latin America and India rather than Southeast Asia and New Zealand. Student protesters flew Eureka flags (seen as a symbol of alleged* anti-apartheid resistance in Australia), the Pearson flag (seen as an allegedly* similar symbol in Canada), Palestinian flags, Nunavut flags, Crabaiaian and Lambda League flags (in support of the anti-Australian and anti-Canadian foreign policy views of the Lambda League in the upcoming 2024 Crabaiaian general election), and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) flags. The encampment was successful in disrupting the work of the administration for 3 of the 5 days of the ongoing protests. On Days 4 and 5 (today), the administration was able to get around the encampment by holding special meetings on Zoom.

However, students clashed with campus security today, May 11, after campus security ordered the encampment to shut down. Students refused to shut down the encampment citing they will not close the encampment until their demands were met. The campus security then threw tear gas at the encampment which dispersed some of the students from the encampment and then attacked students who refused to disperse with batons until they either dispersed or were injured to the point of needing medical attention at a nearby hospital. The administration eventually ordered the campus security to cancel the dispersal operation and the students were allowed to restore the encampment after 6 hours of clashing. The Lord of Barnumberg, who is the leader of the Barnumberg government which owns the University of Barnumberg, has refused to comment on the situation. The Lord himself is under pressure over his decision to allow posters advertising the Barbie movie starring Australian actress Margot Robbie and Canadian actors Ryan Gosling, Simu Liu, and Michael Cera to be displayed on a Barnumberg bus between July 9 and August 1, 2023.

A student spoke with the Barnumberg Bulletin prior to the clash with the campus security, explaining why he opposed the university's decision to suspend the students:

It's overreacting, honestly, like "Long Live Southeast Asia" does not mention attacking Australians because they are Australian nor does it say that we must physically attack Australia for trying to spread [alleged*] apartheid to Southeast Asia. It's just saying that apartheid should not be spread to Southeast Asia because that [alleged*] regime kills the culture, it kills the politics, and it kills the rights of the people living there.

Like we wouldn't say in the 1980s that "Free Nelson Mandela" is inciting violence against White South Africans, now, would we? The only thing it incited was pressure against South Africa's government to free Mandela.

One of the 5 students themselves wrote to the Barnumberg Bulletin:

This suspension is so stupid. We're adults for fuck's sake, we should enjoy the full political rights to free speech that this constitution granted without facing consequences from a university that is run by a regional government which should obey the constitution.

A lawyer who is sympathetic to the student protesters has threatened to sue the University of Barnumberg if they do not give in to the student's demands saying that the suspension of the students for "incitement of violence" is baseless and is simply a way to legitimise a violation Article 10 of the constitution. The University of Barnumberg subsequently responded by saying that the university was suspending the students based on their own campus rules and that the constitution only protects against direct government punishment based on speech. The lawyer further responded that the University of Barnumberg is owned by a regional government and subject to regional and federal management rules and so rules that limit free speech violate the constitution.

So far, the standoff between students and the administration at the University of Barnumberg continues and the question of who will blink first remains uncertain.

* - "alleged" and "allegedly" are written purely for legal reasons and to avoid defamation lawsuits by pro-Australian groups. This does not in anyway reflect whether the Barnumberg Bulletin believes Australia and Canada are apartheid states, a lot of our staff agree that it should be left to international courts to determine if these countries are committing the crime of apartheid. Fretz Mallsky (the author of this article) firmly believes Australia and Canada are both committing the crime of apartheid.
