A large island chain in the Gulf of Mexico off the west coast of Florida. Previously a Spanish colony, then a British colony, then a Confederate colony, then a U.S. puppet state, and now an independent republic. The constitution is mostly copied from the U.S., except it is a unitary presidential republic. The population is diverse, with people of Spanish, African, and English ancestry. Most citizens are left-leaning, and the U.S. has covertly interfered in our politics to prevent outright socialism. The main industry is tourism.
