In Countesia, bagged milk is incredibly common. The move from traditional plastic containers and cardboard cartons began in the early 90's when the nations largest supplier of dairy announced it was to begin trialing bagged milk to test public approval and cost effectiveness. The test was an unanticipated success as many folk found plastic bags easier to store and did not fill bins with rubbish as badly as jugs did. eight months after beginning the trials, the supplier announced it was to replace all their plastic jugs with milk bags. Milk became cheaper, and thus competitors followed suit. Fast forward to 2021, it only tends to be more expensive, branded organic milk that are found in plastic jugs.
As for glass bottles, there has been a slight renaissance as dozens of subscription services similar to the milkmen of days gone have started delivering fresh milk straight from local farms to front doors. However, bagged milk still comprises 98% of all milk sold in Countesia.
