How are cops a gang, the worst one even, if they're executing the governmental laws, which serve the public interest? Granted we talk about a government that upholds human rights, of course.

Because, in the US at least, police forces were not set up to fight crime but to control minorities and workers and to socialize the expense of protecting the property and wealth of the capitalists.
