DRAFT: Ignorance of Obesity to the Public

Postby Panemore » Tue Jan 26, 2021 9:49 pm

(Please tell me if this contradicts anything or breaks the rules)
World Assembly,
Aware that the citizens of The World are growing aware of the dangers obesity poses, willing to prioritize economy, government, and corporate well-being over the health of said citizens, I am proposing an act to sweep obesity under the rug in favor of companies.
1. Food/drink suppliers are not required to specify portion sizes of their goods.
i. This excludes governmental and hospital forms.
2. Health checks are more lax unless conducted by the government.
3. Food/ drink companies have the right to refuse service to anyone and everyone.
i. This excludes the ruler of the nation.
4. Food/drink companies are exempt from eco-friendliness organizations.

This is better suited as an issue (if it already isn't covered) than a resolution, given that it allows nations to choose (at least in my view) pretty silly policy choices. A resolution that cannot be justified on pragmatic or ethical grounds is doomed to failure. While perhaps not illegal under the rules, so too are abortion bans, which will never happen due to the lack of anything close to a majority support it.

Elsie Mortimer Wellesley. We oppose this proposal.

OOC: Of a certainty, submitting it barely two hours after posting the very first draft here is not going to win you approvals or voters. There are recommended ways to create a resolution; chief among them is "it's a marathon, not a sprint."

I'm just not going to do this anymore, the experience has been highly embarrassing and rather detrimental to my confidence. Thanks for helping me discover how terrible I am at writing laws. EDIT: This post was not meant sarcastically, I am genuinely thankful for you helping me not look like an idiot.

I'm just going to see how this proposal goes and that'll be the last you see of me in the WA.

I appreciate your highly reasonable input.
