My national animal is marine, but NS thinks it’s land-based.

Anyway, I’d like NS to recognize my national animal as marine, not land. How do I do this? I tried temporarily setting it to “fish,” hoping that the marine setting would be preserved when I switched it back to “Goa'uld symbiote,” but that didn’t work. Is there a mod or an admin who could set the marine flag for me? Thanks, appreciate any response.

I think the way it works is the code searches if your animal fits a list of already-known land/sea/air animals (even partially), and if not defaults to land. Maybe you could try calling it a "Goa'uld symbiote fish" to trick it?

Your nation description doesn't mention anything about frolicking in the forest.

For a while I wanted a Triskaidekapus (13-legged Octopus) as my national animal, but could not get it to work with the algorithm. I am happy with my Feathered Eels now though (enough to put them on my flag, as you can see).

Agreed. And I think it would be less work for them to add a ticky box for land, sea or air rather than having to respond manually to individual user requests.
