1. Does your nation have nuclear weapons? Yes
a) How and when did your nation acquire nuclear weapons? As early as 1943 research on the subject has begun, but it was only in 1951 that a centralized research effort was conducted. The first detonation took place on Nila island in 1956 on the far eastern corner of the country, with further tests conducted until 1964.
b) How large is your nation's nuclear arsenal? Estimates vary as the government has been keeping the actual numbers a secret, but official estimates suggest that at least 300 - 500 warheads are operational
c) Has your nation ever detonated a nuclear weapon in war? No
d) Has your nation made any commitments to limit or reduce its nuclear arsenal? No plans so far
2. Does your nation use nuclear energy? Yes
a) How much of your energy supply comes from nuclear sources? Estimated between 10-30%
b) Have there ever been any accidents at a nuclear power plant in your country? None, yet
c) How does your nation deal with the issue of nuclear waste? Due to the archipelagic nature of the country, wastes are often stored in far flung islands away from major points of civilization, oftentimes they are stored in Borneo, largely due to their "disaster immunity" characteristic.

1. Does your nation have nuclear weapons?
No, but it possesses the theoretical capability.

Cayucas has historically been a center for advancement in nuclear physics. While the majority of Cayucan nuclear research has been on peacetime application, the Allies began to express great interest in the Cayucan program's offensive application with the onset of World War II. The idea of using nuclear energy to make an unprecedented bomb was hypothesized and consider plausible. Horizons University privately denounced the idea, arguing harnessing the power of nuclear energy for offensive purposes could lead to profound, undesirable consequences. So when the government was approached by the United States to help conduct a nuclear weapons program, the Ministry of Infrastructure enabled the Military Ministry to use their own infrastructure and personnel to aid in the Manhattan Project. Cayucan guidance and resources were vital in establishing the US program. After the conclusion of the Manhattan Project, Cayucas also helped with the fruition of the British High Explosive Research post World War II.

Having contributed heavily to both the US and UK programs, the Military Ministry expressed interest in conducting its own program. By post World War II, the MM had enough experience and knowledge to successfully create its own nuclear weapons. Parliament denied permission, considering the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons to be a tactical and moral imperative.

(1a – 1c not applicable)
d) Has your nation made any commitments to limit or reduce its nuclear arsenal?
Parliament formalized their stance of non-proliferation with the 1953 Nuclear Weapons Non-Proliferation Act, which only allows for the production of nuclear weapons "under a critical defensive crisis of combative nature." The Act was reaffirmed by civilian referendum in 1984.

2. Does your nation use nuclear energy?
Yes.

While nuclear weapons are uniformly denounced, Cayucas has a rich history with nuclear energy. As a small yet dense island country, the development of a compact yet powerful power source became an explored interest as soon as the 20th century. The Ministry of Infrastructure, the Horizons University School of Sciences, and various private institutions were tasked with researching potential solutions. By the late 1920s, research accelerated in pace. The potential for electric fueled automation to augment the workforce first proved itself as a game changer in World War I. As the international political climate began to heat up with the decade, a secure and powerful means of power was seen as a national priority in the event of another war. Horizons University made the first man-made reactor, which achieved criticality on February 3rd, 1939. The national effort would continue to establish the Brasstal Nuclear Power Plant, achieving criticality on July 21st, 1941.

a) How much of your energy supply comes from nuclear sources?
Over 90% of domestic power is supplied from nuclear energy. All nuclear power plants in Cayucas currently in use are LFTR reactors. The remaining <10% is typically sourced from fuels synthetically produced in the nuclear energy program.
b) Have there ever been any accidents at a nuclear power plant in your country?
There has been one significant accident in the history of Cayucan nuclear energy: the Pilgrim's Reach Island NPP Incident.

On August 11th, 1961, an earthquake and tsunami struck Pilgrim's Reach. The plant was following typical safety standards, but the natural disaster lead to a chain reaction of events that rendered the precautions futile. The plant experienced a full meltdown, resulting in an evacuation of the town and a temporary gap in part of the national power grid.

The incident was a spark for massive reforms and developments in the Cayucan nuclear energy program. With accountability and successful public relations efforts, the program was preserved. The program's safety standards were already robust, but they were made more strict and fleshed out. The incident also led to Cayucas becoming a leader in nuclear disaster containment and cleanup. Research and development was focused on naturally safer reactor designs, such as the LFTR. The Pilgrim's Reach Exclusion Zone was successfully decontaminated and re-opened to the public in 2015. Sections of the town and old power plant remain preserved in their meltdown-era form as a National Historical Park for its cultural and historic significance, collectively forming the PRINPP National Heritage Site.
c) How does your nation deal with the issue of nuclear waste?
Since the inception of the Cayucan nuclear energy program, nuclear waste in need of a permanent home has been buried deep underground in the Irradiating Island Disposal Site.

The island is distant from settlement and features stable bedrock unlikely to be effected by natural disaster. Waste casks can be deposited and buried into the waste tunnels, which may then back filled upon tunnel capacity being declared reached. The site and waste are made to require no human intervention upon sealing. Since the site's establishment, the Ministry of Infrastructure has generated revenue from using it as an international nuclear waste disposal site. Irradiating Island is publicly reputed for its measures to discourage unintended site interaction. Aside from strict military security, the site also famously features foreboding landscaping to convey the site's danger to life. A variety of monoliths convey the danger through written language and pictographs.

1. Does your nation have nuclear weapons? yes
a) How and when did your nation acquire nuclear weapons? In the early 1960s, The Raven Morocco Islands entered into a defence pact with Stengland, which shared its nuclear technology and weapons with us.
b) How large is your nation's nuclear arsenal? In total, it contains 3,472 nuclear weapons, however, most are quite old and will be retired shortly.
c) Has your nation ever detonated a nuclear weapon in war? No
d) Has your nation made any commitments to limit or reduce its nuclear arsenal? It attempted to enter into negotiations with other powers on Eros on the matter; but no other nation wanted to commit to giving up their preciousss nukessss.
2. Does your nation use nuclear energy? Yes
a) How much of your energy supply comes from nuclear sources? 69% or so. Nuclear power became very popular in the nation after the dangers of fossil fuels were revealed, and the transition to renewables is slowly being staged across the islands.
b) Have there ever been any accidents at a nuclear power plant in your country? Yes, two. The first was in 1987 when Never Gonna Give You Up was first released, with the entire power plant at Júró being abandoned for a Rick Astley concert. The reactor core overheated, which normally was not a problem, but the automatic meltdown safety systems had been disabled in a storm. Without anyone to manually begin the shutdown, the reactor core exploded. Termed the Júró disaster, it was the worst nuclear accident in the history of Eros.

The second accident came from a surprising place: a residential backyard in the city of Pearlington. This part of the town was actually built over the first nuclear reactor in The Raven Morocco Islands, and had since been ‘destroyed’. Actually, the government had filled in the valley which the reactor was contained in, and now houses were on top of it. Remarkably, the reactor core was still intact, and when a pool was dug in the aforementioned backyard, it struck on the edge of the core. The resulting reaction destroyed Pearlington (a city with the world record for that), but thankfully radiation was contained to the valley and harbour of the city.
c) How does your nation deal with the issue of nuclear waste? It is shipped into space, where it is either sold to be used as a fuel for unmanned probes and vehicles, or shot into a nearby star.

    1. Does your nation have nuclear weapons? Yes.
      a) How and when did your nation acquire nuclear weapons? Countesia detonated its first atomic bomb in 1953, and its first thermonuclear warhead in 1959.
      b) How large is your nation's nuclear arsenal? The Countesian Nuclear Arsenal currently numbers at 6,000 warheads in storage, with 300 currently deployed by its nuclear submarine program.
      c) Has your nation ever detonated a nuclear weapon in war? No. The purpose of the Countesian Nuclear Program was to ensure that Countesia could not be coerced by nuclear armed powers.
      d) Has your nation made any commitments to limit or reduce its nuclear arsenal? 3,500 Warheads considered obsolete are currently in the process of being decommissioned for newer models.

    2. Does your nation use nuclear energy?
      a) How much of your energy supply comes from nuclear sources? 75% of Countesias energy is provided by 96 Nuclear Power Plants scattered around Countesia. The remaining 25% of the nations power comes from coal, natural gas and renewable energy.
      b) Have there ever been any accidents at a nuclear power plant in your country? To date, there have been seven nuclear power incidents in Countesia. According to the INES scale, four of these incidents were classed as level one events, two at level three, and one at level 5.
      c) How does your nation deal with the issue of nuclear waste? In Countesia, spent fuel rods are collected by the federal government to be chemically reprocessed to extract leftover plutonium and uranium. Most of this is re-used as fuel, but a considerable amount of plutonium is kept on to be enriched for use in nuclear warheads. The remaining fuel unable to be reprocessed is currently stored 3000 meters underground in a specialised nuclear storage facility, which also oversees nuclear decommissioning.

1. Does your nation have nuclear weapons?
Yes
a) How and when did your nation acquire nuclear weapons?
In 2018. The King vehemently opposed the Island acquiring nuclear weapons, but the Senate, who had been for it for years, finally achieved a 3/4 majority necessary to overrule the King. So, after they overrode his veto, the King very reluctantly oversaw the formation of the Coconut Palm Island Nuclear Program.
b) How large is your nation's nuclear arsenal?
300 warheads (100 on land, 200 in submarines). Just enough to retaliate against a rogue nation that attacks us, but certainly not powerful enough to decimate large countries.
c) Has your nation ever detonated a nuclear weapon in war? No
d) Has your nation made any commitments to limit or reduce its nuclear arsenal? The King has discretion over how many warheads to maintain, but any change of greater than +/- 20% in one year must be approved by the Senate to prevent major changes at the Monarch's whim.
2. Does your nation use nuclear energy?
a) How much of your energy supply comes from nuclear sources? None of it.
b) Have there ever been any accidents at a nuclear power plant in your country? N/A
c) How does your nation deal with the issue of nuclear waste? N/A

1. Does your nation have nuclear weapons? No
2. Does your nation use nuclear energy? Yes
a) How much of your energy supply comes from nuclear sources? ~90%
b) Have there ever been any accidents at a nuclear power plant in your country? Nothing as catastrophic as a meltdown, and no radiation leaks, we take nuclear safety very seriously
c) How does your nation deal with the issue of nuclear waste? There is very little waste as we primarily use thorium, which produces significantly less waste and a significantly shorter is time needed to decay down safe levels of radiation (centuries instead of tens of millennia); We also reprocess byproducts back into usable material. Our method for handling the little waste we do produce is to pay other countries to store it for us
I use all NS stats (even the dumb ones like weather) except for population
Most of my lore is spread around the forums (In cases of conflict, the most recent is canon) because I can't be bothered to make a factbook for everything. There is no prize for finding all of it, not even bragging rights. Why would you brag about something like that?
I have no idea what I'm doing and making this up as I go
Don't make me turn this country around!

1. Does your nation have nuclear weapons? Yes, of course we do!
a) How and when did your nation acquire nuclear weapons? Waldeck-Schwarzburg began development during the late-1940s, and detonated our first uranium gun design test weapon in 1952. We detonated our first implosion device in 1953. We detonated our first thermonuclear weapon in 1956.
b) How large is your nation's nuclear arsenal? Waldeck-Schwarzburg's arsenal is classified, but most unclassified estimates range between 900 and 1475 warheads of all types.
c) Has your nation ever detonated a nuclear weapon in war? No. But we reserve the right to end aggression against us with a measured nuclear response.
d) Has your nation made any commitments to limit or reduce its nuclear arsenal? Waldeck-Schwarzburg has agreed to integrate its nuclear arsenal into the region "Germany"'s nuclear framework. Both arsenals are classified, so we are unable to comment on force disposition, limits, or reductions.

2. Does your nation use nuclear energy? Yes. Waldeck-Schwarzburg operates 37 nuclear power plants safely and efficiently.
a) How much of your energy supply comes from nuclear sources? Approximately 73%.
b) Have there ever been any accidents at a nuclear power plant in your country? No - all of our nuclear power plants are safe and efficient.
c) How does your nation deal with the issue of nuclear waste? Waldeck-Schwarzburg temporarily stores its waste from nuclear power plants and military reactors (such as from submarine- and surface vessel-based reactors) at a classified holding facility. Our space program is heavily involved in manufacturing cheap, fully-automated cargo vessels in which nuclear waste is loaded and then launched toward the Sun. These cargo ships plunge down into the Sun's surface, where both the ship and the waste material are burned up.

1. Does your nation have nuclear weapons? Yes
a) How and when did your nation acquire nuclear weapons?
Our Nuclear Weapons were first acquired through the Huracan project which brought together scientists and engineers from all over the ULAS to develop them. Keep note that this was during the formation of the nation, we developed them to deter American intervention as they are very keen on interfering in Latin American politics and sovereignty. We later developed Thermonuclear weapons, but we quickly shifted our focus to even more powerful weapons: pure fusion and anti-matter weapons.
b) How large is your nation's nuclear arsenal?
489 Regular Fission Nuclear Devices, 1162 Thermonuclear Devices, 2378 Pure Fusion Nuclear Devices, 4656 Anti-matter Nuclear Devices
(8685 Total Weapons of Mass Destruction)
c) Has your nation ever detonated a nuclear weapon in war?
No
d) Has your nation made any commitments to limit or reduce its nuclear arsenal?
None what so ever
2. Does your nation use nuclear energy?
Yes
a) How much of your energy supply comes from nuclear sources?
around 85% of our energy supply comes from nuclear sources, amazing isn't
b) Have there ever been any accidents at a nuclear power plant in your country?
There have been minor accidents with the reactors' cooling, however, that was quickly mitigated
c) How does your nation deal with the issue of nuclear waste?
We throw it back into the reactor if there is any and burn it
