This is a disgrace. Killing an entire industry just to make the streets 2% cleaner? Strange choice, but what am i going to do?

Chewing gum law is something that is indeed present in Singapore, but it's not that enforced that fiercely. You can totally have a pack or two for yourself in order to share it with your friends or your families. Possession alone won't get you. Importing a boxload or a warehouse-ful of it with the intent of selling them, however, are going to be trouble.
So this is a bit funny whenever people cite the chewing gum laws of Singapore as one of the weirder laws we have here - It has always been legal to bring small amounts into the country for one's own use. It sucks that you can't find it, sure, but until COVID happened, you can totally go to Malaysia, buy a few sticks, and then come back. Yes, that is fine. I am not giving tips on breaking this law, lol.
You are now a Finer City than Singapore! Thankfully chewing gum is not as addictive and people can live without it. If your people thrive on gums, that's going to be a huge black market.
/ End of fun fact. And nitpicking!
