Welcome to the general discussion thread for the International Broadcasting Alliance.
A group of broadcasters from varying regions, representing a diverse range of peoples and cultures, have come together to create the International Broadcasting Alliance. Loosely based on the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), this union was born out of years and years of consistent interaction among these broadcasters, who frequently meet during the WorldVision Song Contest and World Hit Festival, both held several times a year. Led by representatives from AS1 Comunicaciones (AS1, Achaean Republic), Brityunik Vefecosoin Cairkovoin (BVC, Britonisea), Radiu-Televižio Kalosia (RTVK, Kalosia), Malta Comino Gozo Broadcasting Corporation (MCGBC, Malta Comino Gozo), Natanyan Television and Radio (NTVR, Natanya), Nekoni Television & Radio (NTR, Nekoni), and Tödlichebujoku Kidelavo (TÖBUK, Tödlichebujoku), the Alliance was officially established on January 1st, 2021.
The aim of this alliance is to act as a forum for different broadcasters to come together and collaborate on broadcasting matters (including, information exchange and potentially, the creation of original IBA programmes) as well as to be a resource to fulfill the technical needs of broadcasters.
Projects
Coming soon.
Membership
There are currently two membership tiers.
Full membership is granted to broadcasters that apply for membership. Full membership status is maintained so long as the broadcaster pays its annual dues to the organization. Full members enjoy the complete range of privileges provided by the IBA, including voting rights and the ability to post programmes on the Arts & Culture and Programme Exchange divisions.
Associate membership is granted to broadcasters that apply for associate membership, and automatically to broadcasters that participate in IBA events such as the WorldVision Song Contest and World Hit Festival. Associate members enjoy a limited range of privileges provided by the IBA, but do not have voting rights and may not promote programmes of their own.
Membership application
You may sign up as many broadcasters as you like, both public and private. Keep in mind that there is a difference between a broadcaster and a TV channel. Radio-only broadcasters are also accepted.
Note: You are free to sign up broadcasters from your different (puppet) nation, however please declare your puppets so we can keep track of how many users have member broadcasters.
