New Year's jump on the Pacific - Mission concluded

It's been two years since the first New Year's jump on the Pacific. Unfortunately, despite months of careful planning and fury against the Pacific, people lost faith and drifted away. In the end, nobody was there to carry the torch.

Except, of course, Still Jumping and the forum trigger.

Two years ago, nobody jumped but me, and so technically nobody actually jumped from a forum trigger. Perhaps it's because it was a bit too last minute. But this year I believe that, working together and with a few days of notice, we can set the record for people jumping off a trigger given on the NS forums. I don't believe it's ever been done before, probably because it is profoundly stupid, but that is exactly why it should be done at least once.

How exactly will this work?, you may be justifiably wondering.

1) The Pacific is expected to update at roughly 1:15 AM EST. But this is not exact. The time a region updates changes just a little every day - that's why triggers are used, as the only way to be accuracy. If you want to be around for the New Year's Jump, try to be around at about 1 AM EST. (Only if you don't have anything better to do, of course. By this time in my country, New Year celebrations are over.)

2) Have a nation ready to jump with. If you are going to use a nation in the World Assembly, move this nation to Medieval Crassia and endorse Still Jumping. If you're not using a WA nation, that's also fine. You can move from any region you want, but Medieval Crassia is a good one still.

3) Five minutes before the Pacific updates, I will make a new post in the thread. Refresh the page occasionally.

4) Two minutes before the Pacific updates, I will edit that post. Once you see this, refresh every few seconds. Prepare a page with the Pacific's region page open.

5) Twenty seconds before the Pacific updates, I will edit that post to read "GO!". As soon as you see this, Click the "move your nation here" button on the Pacific region page as fast as possible.

And then you will have jumped on a forum trigger and become a true gameplayer. Hopefully. This time we'll definitely destroy the Pacific!

I would have liked to have joined in, but a) I'm a WA delegate and don't want to resign that position just to experience a bit of raiding and b) That time would be about 5 AM UK time. I don't think I'd want to get up that early just for an online government simulation game. So good luck.

Also, this doesn't mean my slight anti-raider stance has changed. I'm against innocent regions being taken over just for a few people's fun, but fighting against tyranny/dictatorships might be ok in my books.

For anyone concerned about WA stuff: this is open to non-WA nations too as the point is really just to move on the trigger and show our might. But I respect that 5 AM sounds like an awful time to wake up for NationStates. So I hope you have a wonderful new year.

We will be preparing in the region Medieval Crassia. If you want to join with a World Assembly nation, move your nation to Medieval Crassia at any time before update begins, and endorse Still Jumping.

If you want to just jump without using your WA nation, that's okay too, as the point is to show off our mighty numbers. It doesn't really matter what region your nation is in if it's not in the World Assembly.
