I HATED Disney's Saludo's Amigos as a kid, but I'm sure I would enjoy it today. I don't think it's possible for anyone to hate a cartoon movie that's fairly well known. You would have to look into the no-name/knock-off brands to find something that repulsive and I don't think most people would have such time in their life to go out of their way to watch something so bad.

If you're counting part-animated films, then Gulliver's Travels (1978) was horrendously done.

If not, then I'll agree with above that you'd probably have to look at the rip-off ones. Some more famous ones don't seem particularly pleasing to me, but none I've actually despised.

Coincidentally
Frozen is one of the worst animated films I have seen

The Emoji Movie, so predictable, so corny, and it replaced what was supposed to be the Popeyes movie...

Does this apply only to legitimate movies that were created independently by reputable studios, or are bootlegs and ripoffs fair?

The Emoji Movie.

Sometimes I wonder if in another timeline it might have worked as something surreal and avant-garde.

Mine has to be Izzy’s Way Home. This horrid Finding Nemo ripoff. I saw it on a “legit” television channel, too. Made by these people called “The Asylum”, who specialize in ripoffs like “Trolland” or “Atlantic Rim”.

Tom and Jerry and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory.

The very best sweatshop animation Warner Brothers money can buy mixed with a cast that either does a poor impression of their live action counterparts, or just don't bother, in a film that's almost a shot for shot remake of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory with Tom and Jerry crowbarred into it along side an Oompa-Loompa mouse. Oh and for some reason, "I want it now" is in the film twice now, once sung by Slugworth, and the other sung by Veruca Salt.

The one that fills me with the most disgust is actually "Sing", though several other big ones are close. The whole thing was just a lazy haphazard plot thrown together in I assume about forty seconds so someone could animate a bunch of animal music videos to pop songs.

99% of Sing's budget was getting the license to those songs.

Mars Needs Moms, possibly. Whatever message that can be salvaged out of that confused train wreck of a film is crud. Essentially: single parents are always bad and children should always be raised by a two-parent home. Blech.

Spirited Away (2001) and Princess Mononoke (1997) both stink. Amazing animation but weird and semi incoherent plots and weak character development. I forced myself to watch a few Japanese animation films because I hope to complete the IMDB top 250 list one day. Otherwise, I would have given up on them within 30 minutes.

I have seen 5 of Hayao Miyazaki movies and was not impressed with any of them. The best of them was Castle in the Sky (1986) which was OK but not special.
